Pastor David Mitchell
Okay.
Yeah, let's turn to the book of Jude, Ben.
We can do that.
I want to say how much I enjoyed the message last Sunday morning from Brother Roger, and
it was a blessing and an inspiration, both biblical
and celebrating the freedom of our country and the Bibles that have
been sent all over the world from here, and evangelists and so forth, and bringing in the idea
that, of James, that faith without works is dead, and we can't just sit around
and stay in our safe little surroundings, which, praise the Lord, that we have them in our school, in our homes,
in our church.
But sometimes God chooses to use us in this world that we're in,
and we have to take part in whatever His will is.
And for some, like Roger himself, that may include fighting from time
to time.
And we're glad they haven't called you out yet, though.
But I really enjoyed the message.
It was an inspiration to me.
This morning, however, since I didn't get to preach last week, I thought what I'd do this morning to make up for it.
I want to preach through an entire book of the Bible.
So turn to the book of Jude.
I've been a little disheartened.
It's strange.
You can be disheartened and encouraged at the same time nowadays, in the days in which we live, because you can be
disheartened by what you see, but you can be encouraged by the fact that the Lord foretold it,
and that we're right on track.
And when we saw the great ecumenical service that
our president put together, and I know he had good intentions, and
he's my favorite president right now, but I think we saw for the first time
in our lifetimes and in the history of the world, the beginnings of
a true picture of how, in fact, a one -world church could arise, where we had
Hindus and Sikhs and Muslims and all manner of black birds in the
trees of religion, all speaking together with Christians,
those preaching the gospel.
And I noticed that the gospel is only preached to those who claim to be Christians, and the others
were asked to close their ears for a few moments.
And all these things can both concern us and excite us.
They concern us because they're wrong, but they excite us because the scripture foretold that these
things would happen in the end days.
So at the same time, I've become a little tired of hearing
all of the people in our country who are putting Jesus Christ on
the same platform with Buddha, and on the same platform,
especially nowadays, with Muhammad.
So I want to speak to you this morning about why I believe in Jesus Christ, the only
savior of the world.
Let's pray.
Father, we ask that you lift up your son in our eyes and
hearts and minds today as we view him.
May we view him in our past as he was always
before you, and you delighted in him always.
May we view him in our past as he was on the cross, and you placing our
sins upon his body on that tree as he became sin for us.
May we view him as the scapegoat that was led out into the wilderness never to return with
the sins of the people upon him.
May we view him as the one who rose from the grave in power and ascended
to be seated at your right hand in the heavenlies until he comes back again for us soon.
May we view him as the one who intercedes for us and is our advocate this very moment.
May we view him in the skies coming as the lightning from the east to the west.
May we view him as seated upon his throne in the new Jerusalem
ruling and reigning over this entire world with a rod of iron.
May we bow the knee to him this morning.
May he be lifted up and we ask it in his precious name, the name of the only begotten
Son of God, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Let's begin with the first verse.
Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, a brother of James and brother of James
to them that are sanctified by God the Father and preserved in Jesus
Christ and called mercy unto you and peace and love be
multiplied.
The first reason that I believe in Jesus Christ the only Savior of the
world is because he is the only one who can preserve the souls of men.
Notice that he writes here to them who are sanctified by God the Father.
These are the same ones who are preserved in Jesus Christ and called.
The order is important here.
First we see that it is God the Father who sanctifies his own.
He accomplishes this both before the foundation of the world and in time
and through time and beyond time for all eternity.
The Father is the one who does the sanctifying.
Then we see that there is this preservation in Christ.
Jesus Christ is the only one that the called of the Father and the
sanctified of the Father can be preserved in.
Preserved is a beautiful word.
It means that there's nothing there that can ever be corrupted.
He is the one who preserves us.
We are preserved in him.
There's no other name given under heaven whereby a man can be preserved
for all eternity.
He says mercy unto you and peace and love be multiplied.
Now the second reason that I believe that Jesus Christ is the only savior
of the world is because in verse 3 we see that the true Christian religion, and it
is not, I hate to use the word religion, let's just call it true biblical
Christianity, is the only common salvation once delivered to God's saints.
Now let's read this verse and let's look at some of the language behind it because it's very powerful.
It doesn't read real strongly in English but wait till you see how it really reads.
It says in verse 3, Beloved when I gave all diligence to write unto
you of the common salvation it was needful for me to write
unto you and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once
delivered unto the saints.
There's a lot here.
Notice that this verse starts with the word beloved and ends with the word saints.
The word beloved means the agapade ones.
You know what that means don't you?
The agapade ones, the ones who God loved with unconditional sin
from the beginning, from before the beginning, from before anything we can think of as
the beginning.
We are the agapade ones, the beloved, and it ends with the word saints.
We can get a definition from the Hebrew.
In the Hebrew kodesh, the saints, it means the sacred thing,
the sacred ones.
In the Greek language, agios, it means an awful thing,
awful in the sense of awesome.
It means the sacred, blameless, consecrated ones.
Isn't it beautiful that it addresses God's children as the saints?
But look at this, the agapade ones, the beloved.
Turn with me if you would to Deuteronomy chapter 7 and verse 1 and
let's look into what this means.
The beloved, the agapade ones, the
ones who God loved with unconditional love.
Verse 1 in Deuteronomy says, When the Lord thy God shall bring thee into the land, whether thou goest to
possess it, and hath cast out many nations before thee, the Hittites, and the
Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven
nations greater and mightier than thou.
And when the Lord thy God shall deliver them before thee, thou shalt smite them, and utterly
destroy them, and shalt make no covenant with them, nor show mercy unto them.
Neither shalt thou make marriages with them.
Thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son.
For they will turn away thy son from following me, that they may serve
other gods.
People in that land served other gods then, and they serve other gods now.
For they will turn them away, so will the anger of the Lord be kindled against you,
and destroy thee suddenly, if you allow their gods to influence your
children, he says.
Verse 5,.
But thus shall ye deal with them.
Ye shall destroy their altars, break down their images, cut down their groves, burn
their graven images with fire.
For thou art an holy people, and to the Lord thy God, the Lord thy God hath chosen thee
to be a special people unto himself above all people that are upon the face of the earth.
And if you don't understand that verse very well, you won't understand what Jude has to say this morning very well at all, but
it would behoove you to study this passage and learn what this means.
But isn't it interesting that if they had obeyed God's voice in that day, we wouldn't be having this battle this day.
Same people.
Now, look at verse 7.
He calls us in the book of Jude, the beloved, the agaped ones.
And verse 7 says, The Lord did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because you were more in number
than any people.
For you were the fewest of all people.
And in the Hebrew, that means the most nothing of all people.
That is a great definition of the word grace, is it not?
The grace and mercy of God.
He did not love us because we were something.
He loved us even while we were nothing.
He did not love us because of us.
He loves us because of himself in his own heart and because he chose to love us.
And that's exactly what it says here.
He says, I didn't love you because you were the greatest of the nations.
Verse 8 says, but because the Lord loved you.
That reminds me of Brother Otis's Sunday school classes where he says to us, give us the definition of
sanctification.
And one of us will raise our hand and say it means to sanctify.
He never accepts that answer as a good definition.
And yet when God described why he loved us, he said, because I loved you.
So there is one exception to the rule where that's a great way to define a principle.
God said, I didn't love you because of you.
He said, I loved you because I loved you.
Wow.
That's deep preaching.
I know you hadn't got it yet, but it's deep preaching.
But because the Lord loved you and because he would keep the oath which he had
sworn unto your fathers, hath the Lord brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you out of
the house of bondman.
That picture is the bondage of sin and the devil and the world and our flesh.
He has delivered us, redeemed us, set us free by paying a price from the hand of Pharaoh,
the king of Egypt, which picture Satan himself, Egypt picturing the world system.
So all of our freedom is seen in this verse and it all comes as a direct result of his love for us.
And that love comes as a result of his love for us.
I don't think y 'all are listening today.
You better, you're really listening.
I can't tell which.
It had to do with the fact that before the foundation of the world, he had set his love
upon his own and he knew you by name and he knew you with a love,
an unconditional love that came from his own heart.
It had nothing to do with what you would or would not do, what you would or would not say, what you would or would
not be.
It had to do with the fact that his love was there upon you.
Now that's what he means when he says, you are the beloved, you are the agape ones.
You are the saints, the sacred ones, the blameless ones,
the most holy, sacred, called of God.
Now note that scripturally we are saints, not because, you know, the world has taken on the idea.
They say, well, he's just a little saint.
First place, there's no such thing.
If you're talking about our little ones, you know what I mean?
There's not one of them that doesn't have their hand stuck in that cookie jar.
But the world uses the term as if it's earned.
Oh, he's just a little saint.
Look at him because he's so what?
Cute and good, cute and good.
The world has destroyed the meaning of the word saint because in the Bible, the meaning is that only God
is the one who makes one be a saint.
God causes saints.
He doesn't say, well, you're a saint because you're so good.
In fact, you're a saint simply because you are his and he has given you his nature.
When you receive the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and savior, you had a new
nature, the very nature of God, the divine nature.
And that makes you be awesome.
That makes you be sanctified and sacred and consecrated.
When God touched you with the blood of his son, just as when that blood hit the altar, when it hit the ground, when
it hit the whole place, it sanctified it.
When that blood touched you by faith, the first time you received Jesus Christ into your Lord for
real, that blood touched you, it sanctified you, set you apart.
It made you to be a saint.
But I want you to look at this verse now.
Look at verse three.
He's talking about this, that we should earnestly contend for the faith.
I want you to notice that he calls it the faith, not one of the faiths, but look what he says,
which was once delivered unto the saints.
And he calls it a common faith.
It is needful for me to write into you and exhort you that you should earnestly contend for the faith,
Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common
salvation, there's a lot behind the scenes going on with the language that the Holy Spirit
uses here in this verse.
This word common literally means in the Greek language shared by all,
a faith that is shared by all.
And it means this in the sense of the only true faith in the world.
Vine says in his book of New Testament Greek language
that this word that's translated into common is the word koinos, and it
is the opposite of the word idios, which means one's own.
It is the opposite of one's own.
So when the Bible speaks of this faith as the common faith, it means it is the
only true faith that is shared by all, and it is not invented by oneself.
Now, who do we know in the Bible?
Many characters who tried to invent the way to God.
Cain was the first that I can remember.
Did God accept his offering?
No way in the world, because he didn't bring it to God, God's way.
He brought it his own way.
That's what idios means.
It means one's own.
And that word is absolutely the opposite of the word common here where it says the common
faith.
The word faith, the word common faith means the faith that is shared by all true believers in
the world.
And this word salvation is the word soteria, which means to be rescued
and brought into safety.
So he exhorts us to earnestly contend.
That means fight, to earnestly fight for and underline the
word the faith.
It is the one and only faith brought into all the world that
was, now we see the next phrase, once delivered.
This word once is interesting because it just doesn't give it all to you in English.
It comes from the Greek word hapos, which means absolutely all.
And it has this meaning, you can see this in the English if you just think of it this way, but it
means the faith that was absolutely all delivered to us
once.
It means it doesn't have to keep being delivered.
It means God has delivered it into the world to us, his people.
The faith that is absolutely all delivered.
And the word delivered is fascinating.
It comes from two smaller Greek words, para, which is the first word you see in the word
paraclete, which means the Holy Spirit.
Para, which means to come beside.
The Holy Spirit is the paraclete because he is the one who came along beside us.
Jesus sent him to come along beside us and be the comforter, the word comforter, the paraclete.
This first part of the word para, which means to come along beside.
And this word delivered is, the second part of the word is didomi, which means to give.
So when we look at this phrase, it says this is the faith, the only faith in the world
that was absolutely all delivered into God's agape ones
by someone coming along beside you and delivering it to you.
That's the Holy Spirit of God.
Now, as you read on in the book of Jude, you're going to see one of the outstanding traits of false prophets
is that they teach only from things they can know in the flesh and by nature, and they teach nothing by the Holy
Spirit of God.
But this faith, this faith, biblical Christianity given to us by the
Lord Jesus Christ and his apostles and those who God sent the prophets is the only one that
comes along beside us and delivers it to us by God himself.
Absolutely all is given from beside to the saints.
Isn't that remarkable?
The consecrated ones.
I write to you of the rescue, the salvation.
I write to you of the only rescue that is common to all,
to whom all of it has been delivered from along the side.
Now let's move on.
Now that we see that we have in our faith, Jesus Christ is the only one who can
preserve souls and Christianity is the only faith that is the common
faith that God has given by his Holy Spirit into the world.
Now let's look at verse four.
For there are certain men crept in unawares who were before of old ordained to
this condemnation.
Now I've read many books and heard many preachers say that there's no such thing as God
ordaining anyone to go to hell.
That sounds really sweet.
Sounds great.
Preaches good.
You can even build huge churches off of preaching like that.
I don't know that they're real churches.
I don't know that they're real wheat, but I know I've heard it many times.
The problem with it is just simply isn't true.
Truth should be important to us enough so that we don't worry if it bothers our peers.
Do you hear what I'm saying?
The common failure in preachers across this land is we don't want to ruffle the feathers of our peers because we fear men more
than we fear God and the Lord Jesus had something to say about that.
He said God will never bless it.
He said God can't have anything to do with it and that's why our churches are in the state that they are.
Every preacher preaches more to preachers than to the people.
He's more worried that some preacher is going to come and sit and visit and hear him say something that doesn't fit the orthodoxy of his group
that he will miss the truth a hundred times as he reads the scripture.
We can't be that way.
It's too late.
It's too late on God's timetable to be that way now because we're going to face the one that we need to be
fearing and the one that we need to be pleasing very soon.
This verse says very clearly that these false teachers were before of old ordained
by God to hell.
Now that may not fit your theology but it's in the bible.
So therefore God must have had a purpose in it.
There must be a purpose even for Muhammad having come on the face of this earth.
Even for him having built what is now some say the second largest fastest
growing.
We'll all say the fastest growing religion in the world today is Islam and they say it's the second largest religion.
Second to what?
I'm not sure.
But there must be some purpose in this because God ordained that this man Muhammad come and be born
into the world and live and give the world a religion and die and burn in hell
forever.
So that this religion could come into the world for God's purposes.
Just the same way with Pharaoh.
God raised up Pharaoh.
Pharaoh did exactly what God said to do but he hated God and God raised
him up for that purpose.
So these who come in some come in unaware.
They slip in and certainly this word unaware applies to all who are not schooled in the scriptures because
they look at the things that are being said on television today and they think that well that religion is just as good as and the true
Islamic person really is a person of peace like the Muhammad Ali.
There's got to be a contradiction there.
I mean a heavyweight boxer went to Islam for peace.
I think he just wanted to avoid Vietnam if you ask me.
But anyway here we have this creeping in unawares of a religion and
many of the people even Christians today believe well it's probably just as good and probably it's just another way
to the same God and to the same heaven.
Scripture doesn't say it.
It says that the one who invented this was ordained to condemnation.
He says in verse 4 these are ungodly men turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness
and denying the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ.
Now we miss a lot in that translation.
I'm not picking on the King James Bible.
You know that's the book I use.
It's the most accurate English translation of the Bible that I can find so far.
However, anytime you translate to another language it's very difficult to carry all the
colors isn't it?
And man there's a lot of color missed in this one because it says that these false teachers
deny they are in a state of denying the only Lord God comma and
our Lord Jesus Christ and yet in the scriptures it would read this way the word
deny means to contradict.
Now that's different than deny.
I mean it's bad enough that they deny him but this means in the Greek language it literally means that they contradict him.
They contradict the Lord Jesus Christ.
They confuse religion.
They confuse the way of salvation.
They confuse the people.
They contradict truth.
They contradict the Lord Jesus but then it goes in and says that they are contradicting
the only Lord God.
Now this is interesting.
The word Lord is curious which means supreme in authority.
Now look at this.
There can't be but one and when you use a superlative supreme there's only one supreme.
You don't have someone who is supreme and then he's more supreme and then he's more supreme.
You're the supreme or you're not supreme.
Our English teachers in the crowd would agree with me on this and that is exactly what the word Lord
means.
It means the supreme authority.
The word God here is the Greek word theos which means the supreme divinity
and the word Lord again we see is the supreme
authority and the word Jesus Christ Christos which is the Greek word for
the the Hebrew Messiah anointed one and what we find in the Greek we don't
see a comma and we don't see the word and you might as well mark them right out of their bible because they almost
blaspheme this verse.
We don't see the word the comma.
We don't see the word and and we don't see the word our.
What we see is this they say that they are denying they are contradicting
the Lord God Lord Messiah.
That's how it reads in the Greek.
They turn the grace of our God into lasciviousness and they contradict the
only Lord God Lord Messiah.
That's one person.
That's not talking about two persons.
That's not talking about the father and the son.
This is talking about the son of God.
So the third reason that I believe in Jesus Christ only is because
he is the only Lord God who has come into this world to be the
savior of men.
This is powerful powerfully strong in in the Greek language in this.
It is it is it just nails it home that these false teachers like
Muhammad deny and contradict that Jesus Christ
is the only Lord God Lord Messiah.
The fourth reason that I believe in Jesus Christ only is because
all others will be destroyed in hell for which they were
foreordained.
All others who came and brought about great world religions were nothing but thieves
and robbers who came but to steal and to kill and to destroy.
Jesus said that I quote him with direct quotes.
It speaks in verse 5 here of Jude about their place.
Look at it the place of these who bring these other religions who are placed right on the same platform
not too many weeks ago in our country right on the same platform with those who
supposedly weakly tried to name the name of Jesus Christ.
On the same platform it's not right it shouldn't be.
You can't put any of them on the same level with Jesus Christ.
The place of all these others is described very clearly in verse 5 and I will therefore put you in
remembrance though you once knew this.
Did you say how easy it is for us to forget?
You say how easy it is for us to forget how strongly Jesus said I am the
way and the only way to the father and no man comes to the father
but by me.
We can so easily forget it by the pretty little words that are said by so many preachers today.
Though you once knew this how that the Lord having saved the people out of the land of Egypt
afterward destroyed them that believe not.
The word destroyed in the Greek language is apolumi me which means
to destroy fully.
Verse 6 says and the angels which kept not their estate the first estate but left their own
habitation he hath reserved in the everlasting chains under
darkness.
That doesn't sound like annihilation does it?
Everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day
even as Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities about them in like manner giving themselves over to fornication and going after
strange flesh that's homosexuality are set forth for an example suffering the
vengeance of eternal fire.
There is a place reserved for those who bring us the false religions of the world.
It is a place that the bible calls the abyss.
The place where there is an eternal falling.
It is a place that the bible says is eternal darkness.
A thick darkness that cannot be described.
It is a place that is described as lonely.
A place that's described as a place where the fire is never quenched and the worm dieth
not their eternal torments.
It says in fact that the smoke of their torment ascendeth forever and ever
and this is their place.
Now look at their character in verse 8.
These who bring us these religions the same ones we're putting on the platform with the Lord Jesus Christ.
We named them in the same sentence with his name.
Look at their character.
Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh despise dominion and speak
evil of dignities but these speak evil of those things which they know not but what they know
naturally.
The only thing they can say is what they know by nature.
They're brute beasts in those things they corrupt themselves.
Woe unto them for they have gone in the way of Cain.
What did Cain do?
He wanted to come to God his own way and they ran greedily after the
error of Balaam for reward.
What did Balaam do?
He was a hireling prophet who preached for money and he tried to bring a curse upon Israel when Israel was
God's people.
He tried to try to get him to pray and ask God to curse them for money and he attempted it
and he failed.
And he says these people are the same as Kor.
Who is Kor?
Well Kor was a Levite who conspired with Dathan and Abiram against Moses
who was God's chosen man and they were driven by jealousy and the earth opened up and
swallowed them alive whole.
Look at verse 12 it goes on and talks about the character of these.
These are spots in your feasts of charity.
Well you know what they're not supposed to be in the feast with us but they are.
They're not supposed to be in fellowship with us and when you allow them to be by putting them on the same
platform then they are spots.
They're blemishes in your feast your love feast when they feast with you when they when you let these
fellowship with you feeding themselves without fear they're not afraid of anything they're there to corrupt.
They're tears that are hidden there to to to mess with the wheat
and to to to defile God's field
and here it says that they feast with you without fear.
Clouds they are without water they look good they look like they're bringing blessing but they just pass over in
no water no nourishing water ever comes from them carried about by the winds that means they're they are not
led by God they are led by the whims and the winds of their own thought processes.
Trees whose fruit withered without fruit twice dead plucked up by the roots.
This is a condemning book in the Bible for
those who are false prophets.
Raging waves of the sea foaming out their own shame.
Now look at this wandering stars to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness
forever because they were foreordained to spend all eternity in hell.
And Enoch also the seventh from Adam prophesied of these people saying behold the Lord cometh
with ten thousands of his saints to execute judgment upon them all that day's not that far in our future.
And to convince all that are ungodly among them.
Now look at the language here and I like this in the English all who are ungodly among them of all
their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken
against him against whom Jesus.
And yet we allow them to be on the same platform and mentioned in the same sentence with our Lord
Jesus Christ and they have spoken ungodly against him.
In verse 16 says it carries on and talks more about the character of these people that they are
murmurers.
They are complainers.
They walk in their own lusts and their mouth speaketh great swelling words having men's
persons in an admiration.
Unfortunately many of our preachers today are this way.
They have men's persons in admiration because of advantage rather than caring about the truth.
The verse 17 says.
But beloved here we are the beloved the agape ones.
This is who's being addressed.
Remember ye the words which were spoken before the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ.
How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time.
So this is another trait of these people.
They are mockers of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Muhammad was a mocker of Jesus Christ.
He's always a good teacher.
He's a good prophet.
But by the way kill anyone who follows him.
That's exactly what he teaches in the quran.
I downloaded the quran on my computer and so now i have the quran on the
computer.
I can read it verse by verse.
It's very fascinating to see.
And the world is being taught now by our leaders that those who are really faithful
to the quran really are people of peace.
No those are liberal islamic people who don't know their scriptures.
Those who are not liberal the conservative islamic believer who knows the quran and reads it and believes it like you
believe the word of God they are not people of peace unless you're one of them.
And if you're not one of them you will die.
And if you convert to their religion and then you revert back away from it they will kill you
punishable by death.
This is who they are.
And this is who the bible says.
They are murmurs complainers of their own lusts.
And we were told before time that they would be mockers in the last time.
Who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.
These be they who separate themselves.
They wear this garb.
They put their women in garb where they with veils.
They are so separate from the world.
I mean we got some christians that are like that that believe that it makes you godly if you try to be just so you know brother russ
calls them bun heads.
Now i would call them that myself.
And he says the worst kind of bun head is a bun head.
Who.
Oh now how do you put that.
It's a it's a bun head who has to dress that way and everything.
But they they don't even get the blessings of of living a separated life.
They do it outwardly.
Now let me come back and say this.
If we have someone in this congregation or anywhere in the world that wears a bun unto the lord then bless you.
But we have far too many who wear that unto men and god won't bless that.
But you see one of the traits of these false people is that they separate
themselves from everyone else.
It is false in any religion when you do that.
Now i know what some of you think he's.
Well no.
Wait a minute brother david the bible says we're supposed to be that way.
No you didn't listen to me carefully enough.
I said it's false when you do that the only true separation is the
separation that comes by the presence of god in your life.
It is god that does the separating.
Moses said that that god was threatening not to go with moses.
He said now let me send an angel.
And moses said no.
If you're not going to go don't let me go.
I won't i don't want to go if you're not going to go.
And moses said i don't want to go if you're not going to go because father your presence with us
is that which will separate us from the peoples of the world.
Now these false teachers they create the separation by telling you how to dress how to walk.
They'll kill you.
If you don't do it that way the young women by the age of 14 over in
afghanistan and the different islamic countries they arrange they pre -arrange for a marriage
to whoever that paid them the most money.
And if the young lady at the age of 14 refuses to marry this person they will take her up on the roof and
cast her off the roof to her death.
And the authorities there's no law against that.
There'll never be a question asked as long as it's a young lady.
Or if they get caught uh in the market without the veil they'll be stoned.
They'll be buried to the neck in the sand.
Buried in the neck to the sand and then just their head and neck stoned to death
because the someone saw their face.
This is a mad human attempt to separate someone from the world.
And it is a perversion a satanic perversion of true godly holiness which only god
can bring.
Now as we approach that in our christian churches in our fundamentalist churches where the pastor sets down the
rules what do we call them today.
Standards.
We have standards.
Well let me tell you a problem with standards.
The problem with standards is if man makes a man can break them and then you got to punish them and then you end up just like the
mullahs.
Only god can bring true separation.
You know how you can prove it.
You watch a pastor die or leave a church and that church will go right back dressing like they used to the women will be
right back dressing how they dressed before that preacher made them dress a certain way
unless you get another mullah.
Is that the right word that sound like money.
There's some of that going around too but notice that the one of these distinguishing
characteristics is that they separate themselves and yet on the inside they are sensual.
Haven't you noticed that the churches that have the most quote standards the ones that end up having the pastors run
off with the women.
Now you watch it every time.
Satan will do this because you see if you get into if you if you get into
pharisaism it's as if you open the door and the rules of the game are satan's allowed to come in and
tempt you with everything there is to be tempted with and he'll put it right there before you so that he
can embarrass you before the world because you were so separated and you just did everything
to look and dress like the preacher and all you ladies dressed like the preacher's wife and she wore a bun.
You wore a bun and everything's in its place.
And all of a sudden the pastor's gone with the organist the secretary or whatever.
Why.
Because you try to separate yourself and yet you're sensual on the inside having not the spirit.
Now this is not really written to preachers so much as it is to
muhammad and buddha and those who have brought us these false religions.
And yet some of these truths hold true in our own churches.
Don't they.
Well we see a lot of characteristics of these false teachers.
Filthy dreamers.
They know only what they can know naturally.
They're like cain.
They worship their own way not god's way.
They're like balaam.
They do it for money.
They're like core.
They're jealous of anyone who really has god's hand on their life.
They're like spots in our love feast.
They're without fear of god.
They're like clouds that don't bring any water.
They're fake.
They're like fruit that withers that doesn't give you any nourishment.
They're twice dead.
They're plucked up by the roots.
What does twice dead mean.
By the way you die once.
That's physical death.
What about the second death.
What is eternal death.
They are ordained.
They're ordained to hell.
God has already proclaimed them as twice dead.
Yet while they're living and preaching their horrible false gospels they are plucked up by the roots he
says and burned.
Bind them in bundles and burn them.
Some of you will remember joe boyd preaching
plucked up by the roots waves of the sea foaming out their own shame wandering stars.
The blackness of darkness is reserved for them forever.
They're under god's judgment because they're ungodly deeds.
They're ungodly committed their ungodly speeches that they spoke against jesus christ.
Their murmurs complainers lustful speaking swelling words men pleasers mockers of the lord jesus christ.
They separate themselves.
They're sensual.
And they are above all without the holy spirit.
So i don't believe in them.
The fifth reason that i believe in jesus only is because he is the only door
of mercy declared so by the only resurrection
from the dead.
Look at verse 20 in jude.
But ye beloved.
You thought i was kidding when i said it gonna freak the whole book.
Didn't you.
No you probably knew i wasn't.
But ye beloved building up yourselves on your brother otis will be proud of me.
Usually i mean it takes like four weeks to do four verses.
I'm doing a whole book in one morning or morning part of the afternoon.
But ye beloved building up yourselves on your most holy faith
praying in the holy ghost.
Now let's got to stop just a minute there.
What does it mean.
The most holy faith.
Now holy means what holy faith means.
What.
What does the word holy mean.
Separated.
It means the one faith that god separated from all the other faiths.
The one most separated out from all the world faith.
That's the one you have.
Because you're the only people who pray in the holy ghost.
Everyone else prays from their heart from their nature from their flesh.
And it never gets past the top plate of the skull of their head.
Only the holy spirit can take your prayer to heaven like the smoke of the incense that rises up before
god.
You're the only people that have a faith where you pray by the holy ghost.
Keep yourselves in love of god looking for the mercy of our lord jesus christ unto
eternal life.
Jesus christ is the only door to eternal life.
In john 14 6 jesus said i am the way the truth the life.
Notice the word the.
He never says i am a way i am a truth and i am a life.
He says i am the way the truth the life.
No man he says can come into the father.
But by me.
He did not say what we have heard.
Billy graham said on television one time when he said well i believe.
If they're off over there and they don't have a new testament they don't know jesus christ that that probably their
islamic faith might take them to heaven.
Jesus didn't say that.
He said no man can come.
No man can come unto the father.
That's why i don't put him on the same platform.
I don't put him in the same sentence same phrase the same breath with muhammad.
If you had known me they he said you should have known my father also.
And from henceforth you know him and have seen him.
Because they saw jesus.
He goes on and makes it a little more clear.
He says philip says to him lord show us the father.
And this is really close to how this is kind of how jesus rebuked his own is not ever harsh.
Like like sometimes we preachers do or you do to each other.
It's never.
It's never harsh.
It's gentle but it is a rebuke.
Look what he says jesus saying unto him.
Have i been so long time with you.
Yet hast thou not known me philip.
What did philip ask him.
He said show us the father.
And he said he that hath seen me hath seen the
father.
And how sayest thou then show us the father.
Believest thou not that i am in the father and the father in me.
If you look at jesus christ you see the father because the father is in him by the holy spirit
of god.
He says how can you say you haven't seen the father.
I am in the father the father in me.
The words that i speak unto you.
I speak not of myself but the father that dwelleth in me.
He doeth the works.
Jesus is the only way.
But he's also the only one who is in the father and the father in him.
Muhammad did not have that in acts.
Chapter 4 verse 10 it says be it known unto you all and to all the people of israel.
That means to the whole world and to all of israel that by the name of jesus christ of nazareth
whom you crucified whom god raised from the dead even by him doth this man stand
here before you whole.
Now listen to this.
This is the stone which was set at naught of you builders which is become the head of the
cornerstone.
I believe in jesus only because he's the only head cornerstone that god has given.
Neither is there salvation in any other the bible says.
For there is none other name.
No other name under heaven given among all men.
Doesn't matter what color their skin is doesn't matter where they live.
Doesn't matter what part of the globe their own.
There is no other name.
Billy graham is wrong if he did say that and i didn't hear him say it.
But dr macarthur heard him say it.
But if he said that they can be saved by another name because they might not get the chance to hear the name of
jesus then that was blasphemy because there is not another name who is the cornerstone.
There is not another name who had the sins placed upon his head and he was led out into the wilderness never to be
returned again.
Muhammad never did that.
He would not do that for you because he came to kill you not to save you.
None other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved.
It doesn't say we might be saved as we quote it.
Sometimes they say you must be saved you.
There's no other way if you're going to be saved you must be saved by jesus christ of
nazareth who was resurrected from the dead.
Now when they saw the boldness of peter and john and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men
they marveled and they took knowledge of them that they had been with jesus.
And i love this verse right here.
And beholding the man which was healed standing with them
they could say nothing against it.
See only one who has the power of god jesus christ and his followers.
John 10 10 i mean 10 1 says verily verily i say unto you he that entereth not
by the door into the sheepfold but climbeth up by some other way.
The same as a thief and a robber.
There's muhammad for you.
There's buddha for you.
You put them on the same platform.
You know i understand jesus was crucified in the midst of thieves and robbers.
But would you do that to him today.
Are you going to put him next in between thieves and robbers again today.
Will you do when you put him on the same platform in the same religious service.
When you mention his name in the same breath with these others you can do that.
But i'm not going to be with you when you do it.
He that entereth in not by the door is a thief and a robber.
Jesus said that.
No man said that other than the lord jesus himself.
But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the feet of the sheep.
To him the porter openeth and the sheep hear his voice.
And he calleth his own sheep by name and leadeth them.
That's the agape ones that were chosen before the foundation of the world.
And when he put it forth his own sheep he goeth before them.
And the sheep follow him.
For they know his voice.
And a stranger will they not follow but will flee from the stranger.
For they know not the voice of strangers.
Don't worry too much about islam.
Don't worry too much about it.
Because there won't be one lost sheep that ever follows it.
There won't be one lost sheep that hears the voice of muhammad and thinks that's god.
And follows that voice.
Only those who were ordained to eternal punishment will hear that voice and follow it.
That's what the bible says.
What jesus says.
Verse 7.
Then said jesus and to them again verily verily i say unto you i am the door.
That's why i believe in jesus only.
He said i'm the door of the sheep.
All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers.
But the sheep didn't hear them.
I am the door by me.
If any man enter in he shall be saved and shall go in and out and find
pasture.
There's the responsibility side any man woman boy or girl in this world no matter where they
live.
If they enter in through this door they shall be saved.
But on the other hand this is the only door by which they must be
saved.
I am the good shepherd.
He says the thief cometh not verse 10 but to steal and to kill and to
destroy.
And you put them on the same platform.
Well they brought us a great world religion.
No.
They brought us a great funeral parlor and a great tomb to throw people in.
I am come that they might have life and they might have it abundantly.
You know why i follow jesus.
Only because he's the only life that there is a dead.
Muhammad can't give me any life.
Only a resurrected messiah proven by the resurrection authorized
by the father when he came out of that grave as the only true son of god.
The good shepherd giveth his life.
Only because muhammad didn't die for me.
He did not give up his life for me he said.
But he that is in hireling.
He's not going to give up his life for you.
When the wolf comes in when the lion comes to devour muhammad runs.
Somebody hired him to be a prophet.
But jesus doesn't.
And if he does run he runs toward the lion.
He runs toward the wolf destroys him.
But this hireling when he seeeth the wolf coming he leaveth the sheep and fleeth.
And the wolf catcheth them and scattereth the sheep.
The hireling fleeth because he is a hireling.
It's almost like another definition.
Brother otis define what a hireling is.
He's a hireling.
Who's a hireling.
He's the one that does it for money.
And he flees when the wolf comes.
He cares not for the sheep.
He just wants the money that comes from creating the religion.
Jesus said i know my sheep and am known of mine as the father knoweth me.
Even so know i the father.
And i lay down my life for the sheep.
There is no other that ever did that in all human history.
And other sheep i have.
That's you.
That's the gentiles not just the jews.
Other sheep i have which are not of this fold them also i must bring.
And they shall hear my voice.
And there shall be one fold and one shepherd.
Not many shepherds don't leave me yet.
Going a little long today.
But that's not unusual.
Not many shepherds not a whole lots of different folds.
One fold one shepherd.
Therefore doth my father love me because i lay down my life that i might take it up
again.
And that brings me to romans 1 3 that says this concerning his son jesus christ our lord
which was made of the seed of david.
According to flesh he gives exactly who he's talking about and declared to be the only
son of god with power according to the spirit of holiness by the resurrection
I believe in jesus only because he's the only one that's the door.
He's the only one that can bring life.
He is the only life.
He's the only one who is not a hireling.
He is the only one who laid down his life for the sheep.
And he is the only one that god ever raised from the dead.
Now we're back in jude.
We're going to finish it up.
Verse 22.
And of some have compassion making a difference.
We're supposed to be witnesses.
But others say with fear.
We're supposed to tell them.
You're you know let me tell about the place people go that don't receive jesus.
Let me tell you about it.
It's dark.
It's a place of eternal falling.
It's a place of unquenched fire.
It's a.
It's a place where the worm dieth.
Not.
It's a place where god is not.
That's a whole nother sermon.
Brother otis touched on it this morning.
But i'm telling you what you you've heard people say.
Well can god create a stone so heavy that he can't lift it.
You know they try to think of things like that where they try to figure out something that god can't do.
It seems you know god is omnipresent.
Isn't he.
What does that mean.
He's everywhere at one time all the time.
All of him all of him is everywhere at one time all the time.
So it seems impossible that god himself could create a place where he couldn't be.
But he did.
And that place is called hell.
That place is pictured as the wilderness where that little lamb was led with all the sins of the people on him.
And that's the place where jesus went when he said my god my god why have you forsaken me.
He went into that wilderness and we'll never know what that was like.
He doesn't want us to know.
So some you say with fear pulling them out of the fire hating even the garment spotted of the flesh.
I believe in jesus because he is the only one who can present me faultless
because he is my scapegoat led into the wilderness.
Look at verse 24.
Now to him that is able to keep you from falling.
How is he able to do that.
Because he already took your sins.
They're gone.
And to present you faultless before the presence of his glory
with exceeding joy.
How dare anyone compare a wise man or a prophet a
religious leader to him.
I accept jesus only because he's the only begotten son of god given
glory and majesty and dominion and power now and forever.
Verse 25 says to the only wise god our savior be glory and majesty
and dominion and power both now and forever.
He's the only way the only truth the only life the only image of the father the only cornerstone the only
name under heaven whereby men may be saved.
The only door the only life the only one who's not a hireling who came to steal and to kill and destroy.
He's the only one who laid down his life for the sheep.
And that the lord love the father loves because he laid down his life for the sheep.
And he's the only one that ever came forth out of the grave because he had the power to take it
back again.
Don't compare him with any other.
Let's stand and have prayer.
Father we bow our
knees today to you.
We thank you for the lord jesus.
We thank you that you've called us to bow our knees today.
And not on that terrible day when the unbelievers have to bow their knees because
they rejected him because they contended with him because they preached another
gospel taught another religion.
Father we thank you that you've brought us to our knees today by the beauty of the lord jesus
christ all that he is and all that he has done pictured so beautifully in all
of the feast of israel both the sacrificial goat and the scapegoat.
Father we thank you that you've taken our sins and placed them upon him
and that they were taken into the wilderness never to return.
Now lord give us the boldness and the grace and the courage and the power of the holy spirit to live
as we ought in these final days.
To be the witnesses that we need to be to be a people who would not put up with little things uh
that the people are trying to do around us by placing jesus in the same pot with all the other teachers.
Don't let us go that and don't let us be ones who would let that go without us saying something about it.
Let us be truth but and light but also let us be salt that would hurt an oozing
sore but bring healing to it.
And father we just pray for our nation for our president for our leaders.
Father we pray that you would work a person into his presence who has godly knowledge of the scriptures
to give him counsel lest he be totally duped and defeated by this
enemy for it is truly a spiritual enemy.
We battle not against flesh and blood but principalities and powers.
So be with him and bring him wise help.
And lord go with us as we fellowship together.
May we fellowship enjoy the awesome truth that we've been
called that we are the agape ones the beloved the saints the ones that you have made to be different.
Help us to fellowship in that love of the lord jesus christ.
Bless our meal together today.
We ask it in jesus name.
Yes yes
amen.
That used to be baptist.
You can run up the aisle a couple of times.
