Has Todd White Repented?

Todd White preached a message this past Sunday, July 26, 2020, in which he says he has not been preaching the Gospel rightly since he was saved back in 2004. Many people are expressing excitement and joy over this. I am praying that this is real. In this video I urge caution and talk about what true repentance would look like in Todd's life if it is real. I make an appeal to Todd and stand ready to help.

Hello, dear ones. My name is Justin Peters. I hope that you and your family are doing well today. I want to thank you for watching this video.
00:06
And this video looks quite different from my other videos because I am on the road right now. I'm recording this in a hotel room.
00:14
I'm in Pennsylvania preaching at a church along with Jim Osmond. He and I are both out here preaching. And so this video is going to be bare bones.
00:22
I'm not going to have any other video clips to edit into it. I'm not going to have any graphics.
00:27
And A, because I'm on the road, I don't have that kind of time to put into this project.
00:35
But B, this is kind of an urgent video because I'm responding to the big news in the evangelical world right now is that Todd White has repented.
00:46
He preached a message this past Sunday. And he came out and he admitted that he has not been preaching the gospel rightly.
00:55
He says in the last couple of months he's been reading Charles Spurgeon and reading and watching
01:01
Ray Comfort. And he now realizes that the law is an integral part of the gospel.
01:08
And so you'll see me glancing over and reading some notes that I have here as we go through this. Let me start by saying,
01:15
Todd, I hope that you are watching this. I really do hope that. And if you are, please watch it through to the end.
01:22
Because I am encouraged by some of the things that I have heard you say. And I want you to know that I am encouraged.
01:30
But there's also a lot here that we need to talk about. And there's a lot here that you still don't understand.
01:37
And so this video is both to Todd personally and it's to everyone who is watching.
01:45
Because before we jump on this bandwagon and get too excited here, we need to look at what real repentance is and what that will entail, what that will look like in Todd's life, if that is indeed what has happened.
02:01
So I'm going to read a few quotes here from his message. He says, I saw this, referring to the law and the need for it.
02:08
I saw this when I got saved, and for some reason it's taken me 16 years to explain it.
02:14
And I feel like I've just seen something completely brand new. What I won't ever do is take the miraculous out of the gospel.
02:20
It's a miracle that I can come to Jesus through all my junk and all my sin and Him say not guilty.
02:27
That's a miracle. So that's just kind of a baseline here that he is saying that he says that he understood this 16 years ago.
02:37
But somehow, he says for some reason, it's taken him 16 years to incorporate it into his preaching.
02:47
Well, that right there tells you that something is fundamentally wrong.
02:53
How is it that he has not been preaching this, if in fact he understood it 16 years ago when he got saved?
03:00
That immediately discredits all of his preaching because this is a fundamental component of the gospel.
03:09
This is gospel 101, and he has not been preaching this by his own admission.
03:16
Now, bear with me, Todd. I'm not angry. Bear with me.
03:22
Please continue watching. Todd goes on, he says, There's a bunch of people in the world that are accusing me of so many different things, of preaching some kind of prosperity gospel.
03:33
Dude, if you ever hear that in me, kill me.
03:39
I mean, seriously, I don't preach money. Sheesh. If I do preach prosperity, it's the prosperity of the soul.
03:45
God desires us to be in good health and prosper even as our soul prospers. He quotes 3
03:51
John 2. Of course, that is a verse that launched Oral Roberts' ministry, if you call it that.
03:57
Oral Roberts, one of the most infamous fake faith healers. And so he takes that verse wrongly.
04:05
But at any rate, it is true, Todd, that you do not preach financial prosperity nearly to the degree that many of your colleagues do.
04:17
But therein lies an issue, because just in the last few years, you have heaped praise upon Kenneth Copeland.
04:27
You call him your father, your spiritual father. Kenneth Copeland is one of the absolute worst, most notorious preachers of money.
04:38
It is what he is known for. He is one of the most egregious heretics.
04:47
He has uttered some of the most blood -curdling blasphemies and heresies that you could ever imagine.
04:54
And not only does he teach these things, he has actually credited God as the source of these things.
05:01
And that you heap such praise on Kenneth Copeland is enormously troubling.
05:06
In fact, you have recently defended Kenneth Copeland. Like a mother grizzly defends her cubs, you have defended
05:15
Kenneth Copeland. And that is enormously, enormously troubling. So let's go on.
05:22
Todd White also says this. He says, This is hard for me, because I feel like I haven't preached the whole gospel.
05:30
And I repent. I repent. You have no idea. I will not be responsible.
05:36
I believe that when I preach that the blood of people is on my hands. You know, at face value, that sounds good.
05:49
He understands that he hasn't been preaching the whole gospel. And let me say, if you haven't been preaching the whole gospel, you have not been preaching the gospel at all.
05:58
And Todd, I've watched hundreds of your videos. And I've seen you out on the street, and you go up to people.
06:05
And it's true, you have not been using the law of God. In fact, you have been preaching the exact opposite of God's law.
06:13
You go up to people, and you tell people how amazing they are. And God just thinks you're amazing, dude.
06:21
And you tell people how wonderful they are. And you've actually said that the cross does not reveal your sin, it reveals your value.
06:29
That heaven went bankrupt just so God could have us back.
06:34
Because we're just all that in a bag of chips, and we're just that spanky. That is not the gospel at all.
06:43
At all. And when you say you repent, that's good.
06:49
But Todd, repenting is a lot more than just changing your mind, as the
06:56
Greek word metanoia means, to change your mind. It does mean that, but there's a context in which that word is used.
07:05
And genuine repentance always bears fruit. Always. John the
07:11
Baptist, Matthew chapter 3, says, Therefore bear fruit in keeping with repentance. The Apostle Paul, addressing
07:18
King Agrippa in Acts 26, So King Agrippa, I kept declaring that all men everywhere should repent and perform deeds appropriate to repentance.
07:29
That does not mean we perform deeds in order to repent, but when God grants repentance, and repentance isn't in and of itself granted to us by God, it is a gift from God.
07:41
When God grants to us repentance, our minds are changed, but everything about us is changed.
07:48
Our desires are changed, our affections are changed, and there is real, tangible fruit in keeping with repentance.
07:56
And this is the rub. Todd, if you are truly repenting, it will bear fruit.
08:04
It will bear real, tangible fruit. You are unqualified to be in the pulpit.
08:13
You should not be preaching. By your own admission, you are just now coming to this fundamental understanding of the gospel that you've got to preach the law, you've got to preach sin, you've got to preach the wrath of God so that the mercy of God makes sense.
08:30
You're just now coming to that realization, which is good in and of itself, but it also means that you've been preaching the gospel wrongly for 16 years.
08:40
What about all of these hundreds, if not thousands of people that you have quote -unquote shared the gospel with, but you've shared a false gospel.
08:50
You've shared an impotent gospel. You have gutted the gospel.
08:55
You have basically just been preaching a self -help motivational speech with a little
09:00
Jesus lingo sprinkled into it. If you've just now come to this realization, and I hope that you have, then you should also realize that you've done a lot of damage.
09:13
You've led a lot of people to a false Jesus and a false gospel. Public sin requires public repentance.
09:24
That's true for all of us, Todd. Public sin requires public repentance. If you're truly repentant, if you're serious about this,
09:34
Todd, then this is what you need to do. I'm going to tell you what real repentance will look like in your life, not because I'm saying that you have to work to earn your salvation.
09:50
No. But if God has truly granted you repentance, here's what it will look like in your life,
09:57
Todd. You will be willing to come out publicly and say, I've been preaching a false gospel.
10:04
I've been preaching a false Jesus. You're going to be willing to say that. You're going to be willing to come out and admit to people that you have been lying to them for all these years, and not just about preaching an incomplete gospel.
10:23
But, Todd, the leg lengthening routine, this is the trick that you are most well known for, and it is just that.
10:30
It's a trick. Todd, I know how you do it. Lots of people know how you do it. It's been exposed as to how you do it by altering the angle of people's legs and the angle of their feet, manipulating very slowly, so it's not real obvious, but manipulating the angle of their legs and the tilt of their feet.
10:55
Todd, when you command legs to grow, you know full well that leg isn't growing.
11:01
It's a trick. You're very good at it, but that's an old trick. Charlatans have been doing this for decades.
11:08
You've just been doing it on YouTube and putting it out there so everybody can see it. But it's a trick, and you know it's a trick.
11:15
It's intentional deception, Todd. You have been intentionally deceiving people.
11:23
Intentionally. This is not a situation where you can say, oh, gosh,
11:28
I thought the legs were growing. I really did think the legs were growing. No, you're intentionally deceiving people over and over, and you've got videos of you lengthening people's legs even recently, this year, after it was exposed as the hoax for that which it is in the
11:46
American Gospel documentary, which, by the way, just this past May, just two months ago, you said was demonically inspired.
11:56
So if you've come to a different understanding now, I rejoice in that. But if you're truly repentant,
12:03
Todd, you're going to admit to people publicly, yeah, I've been lying to you.
12:08
I've been deceiving people. These legs that I claim that I can command to grow, they're not growing.
12:16
I am intentionally, knowingly altering people's feet and their legs to deceive you.
12:23
If you're not willing to confess that, then you're not truly repentant.
12:32
You have boasted, Todd, about your intimate relationship with God. There are many clips of you talking about how you are sinless, and you say that you have not sinned.
12:43
You have not sinned basically since you got saved, 16 years.
12:48
You have been completely and totally in love with God. And he says, ask my children. They live with me.
12:54
Ask my kids. They know how godly I am. You literally tell people that you're without sin, that you haven't sinned since you got saved.
13:05
Todd, that is a blasphemous lie, and you know it. And I just talked about one of the areas that you've sinned in, the leg lengthening routine, trick, deception.
13:19
You've been boasting about how much you love God and how much you love Jesus, how intimate your relationship is with Him.
13:26
And here's another wrinkle to that. You talk all the time about how God speaks to you. God talks to you.
13:33
God gives you words of knowledge about people. You go up to people at random on the street, oh, God's telling me that you want to be this in your career, or you've got a pain here.
13:44
You get words of knowledge of people. Todd, how is it that you can get words of knowledge from God about people at random, and yet, somehow for 16 years,
13:58
God has not spoken to you about you getting the gospel wrong?
14:06
Something's got to give. You've got to publicly confess that you've been lying to people, you've been deceiving people.
14:14
You've got to publicly confess that you do not have the relationship with God that you claim that you have had.
14:21
This is ground -level stuff. Using the law and preaching the gospel, this is gospel 101.
14:32
All these people that you have supposedly shared the gospel with, you've given them a false gospel. I've seen the videos.
14:39
Real repentance bears real fruit. All of your friends, by the way, like Benny Hinn and Kenneth Copeland and Bill Johnson and Dan Mohler and Lou Engel and all these ministry friends you have,
14:53
Todd, they have done you no favors. All of these people claim that God speaks to them regularly as well, and yet, none of them saw what all of the rest of us could see about you, that you've been preaching a false gospel.
15:12
Literally, the gospel you have been preaching is 180 degrees opposite of the true gospel.
15:18
Rather than making people aware of their sin that has incurred the wrath of God and their need for repentance, you've been telling people how awesome they are, how amazing they are.
15:30
Your so -called friends have done you no favors. These friends who also claim to hear from God as regularly as do you.
15:39
Todd, if you're truly repentant, here's what it would look like. You'll do these things.
15:44
You'll confess that you've been lying. Confess that you've been deceiving people. Confess that you do not have the relationship with Christ that you have claimed that you have.
15:53
Confess that you are anything but sinless. And you will shut your ministry down.
16:01
The real evidence that you have repented, Todd, is not if your preaching changes.
16:07
It's that if your preaching stops. Because I am hoping now that maybe you have just come to an understanding of the gospel.
16:18
Maybe. And time will tell. As time goes, maybe this recording will show that you weren't truly saved.
16:27
But as of this recording, I'm hoping maybe that you're in the process of coming to genuine faith and repentance in Christ.
16:33
If that is the case, then you'll understand that at best, right now, at best, you are a baby, baby
16:41
Christian. And 1 Timothy 3, 6 says that an elder should not be a new convert.
16:51
In other words, men who are in the position of preaching and teaching
16:56
God's Word should not be new converts. And at best right now, that is what you are at best.
17:04
And so if you are truly regenerate now, then you should bend the knee in obedience to God's Word and realize you're not qualified to be preaching.
17:16
I mean, again, this is Gospel 101 that you have not understood for 16 years. You should not be preaching the
17:22
Bible. You need to shut your ministry down because you're not qualified to preach.
17:29
Shut it all down. Join a good, doctrinally sound church. You live in Keller, Texas.
17:34
There are some good churches in the Dallas -Fort Worth area. In fact, there's a good one right there in Keller that I know of.
17:41
Shut it all down. Join a good, doctrinally sound church. Submit yourself to the men in that church who are biblically qualified as elders.
17:51
Submit to them. Sit in the pew and learn. Spend years and years and years learning.
18:00
You do not need to be behind a pulpit. You need to be in front of a pulpit, sitting in the pew and learning.
18:08
And, Todd, this is not meant to be harsh on you, but you've got to understand the gravity of the sin that you have been engaging in.
18:17
You have brought reproach on the Gospel, and you have been preaching a false Gospel to undoubtedly millions of people that have followed you all around the world for many years.
18:28
That's very serious. And so you need to shut it down. You need to shut it down.
18:34
Join a good church. Submit to the elders. Learn. And I will be praying for that end.
18:40
So, dear friends, all for the rest of you watching, there's caution in order here.
18:47
We saw a fake repentance from Benny Hinn a year ago. So many people are so eager to jump on the bandwagon of some big -name celebrity -type person that supposedly repents and comes to real faith, and so many people are so eager.
19:02
And in a way, I understand that. We should always be eager for anyone to come to true faith and repentance in Christ.
19:08
But before we jump on this bandwagon, let's watch. Let's see. Time and truth go hand in hand.
19:14
Let's see if this bears real fruit in keeping with genuine repentance. Todd, my website, justinpeters .org.
19:23
Email me, justin at justinpeters .org. I'd be glad to help you. I mean that. I really would.
19:28
I'd be glad to help you. But may this be real.
19:33
And if it is real, you'll shut your ministry down. Not to earn salvation, but as a fruit of having been saved.
19:43
So that's what needs to happen. Real repentance, Zacchaeus kind of repentance, Luke 19, bears real fruit.
19:51
Okay, dear ones, thank you very much. Until our next time together, may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of his
