What Do You Mean channel, link in description, and the video showed some shocking clips of Trump talking about Christianity, God, and religion.

The last clip was so shocking to me that I knew I had to make a video about it. You see, there's a pretty big debate going on amongst

Christians as to how we should view Donald Trump. Some people see him as an American savior figure.

Some others see him as a means to a political end. And some people see him as being worse than the problem that he's trying to solve.

And at the heart of all of this is an even bigger question. Is Trump really a Christian at all?

And if he's not, then how can we claim that he represents our Christian values? Here's a video of megachurch pastor

Watch this. And I have been with President Trump in the Oval Office a couple of times where we prayed with him and for him.

And whenever I've been in the setting, and I've been in a number of them now with him, where someone says, can we pray for you,

Mr. President? He always welcomes it. I can tell you, I've been with a lot of different politicians. And I often

I feel when I'm with him, my role is to be pastoral, not to be political, not to be some kind of a pundit or even an advisor, but pastoral, pointing to scripture and to Christ.

And I'll often say, can I pray for you? And not all of them are as open to that as others are.

But I can say in the case of President Trump, he always bows his head. He wants that prayer.

People have asked me, is he a Christian? Only God knows what he is. But I'll tell you this much. He's publicly acknowledged

Jesus Christ. He's publicly acknowledged that God spared his life. Now, just to be clear,

I believe that Greg is well aware of what I'm about to say, and he probably believes it just like I do. But I have to say it anyway for the benefit of everybody watching.

Being receptive to prayer does not make you a Christian. And let's be even more clear.

Publicly saying that you believe that God exists and that you like Jesus does not mean that you are a

Christian. What makes you a Christian is being saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

And Greg suggests here that we can't really know for certain if Trump is a Christian or not. And that's true in one sense, but I don't think it tells the whole story.

Yes, it is true that only God can see the full heart of man. 1 Samuel 16, 7 says, quote,

Man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart. However, we are also told that the words of a man reveal his heart.

In Luke 6, 45, Jesus says, quote, For out of the abundance of the heart, his mouth speaks.

So just to be clear, even though we can hear people's words externally, and that does to some extent reveal their heart, we do not have full access to what

God can see about their heart. And in that sense, Greg is absolutely correct. Here's an example of these principles that we're working with in action.

Suppose you have an atheist person who says that they do not believe in Jesus and they hate the Christian God to their very core.

Now, from that person's words, you can see that they have a heart which is clearly not saved. But suppose, on the other hand, that you have a professing

Christian friend in your life who often says things about his faith that are concerning or even completely inaccurate or unbiblical.

Yet at the same time, they claim to be a Christian and to believe in Jesus, and they seem to understand the basics of the faith.

This situation is a bit harder, but it's still not totally impossible. Let's take a look at what

Trump has said in the past about his faith. Here's a clip from 2015 where he was asked about God's forgiveness.

Watch this. Have you ever asked God for forgiveness? That's a tough question. I don't think in terms that I have.

I'm a religious person. I'm not sure I have. I just go and try and do a better job from there. I don't think so.

God into that picture. Now, if Trump believes this statement of his fully and completely in his heart, then

I'm leaning very heavily toward the idea that he's simply not a Christian. Ephesians 1, 7 says, quote,

In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses. So if you have never asked for forgiveness or have never received forgiveness, then you are simply not redeemed by the blood of Christ.

It really is that simple, which is to say you aren't a Christian. But here's a recent clip where Trump explains his true religious beliefs in a bit more detail.

Watch this. Do you believe in heaven? I do. If I'm good, I'm going to heaven.

And if I'm bad, I'm going to someplace else like over there, right? So here we can see even more reliance on his works and good deeds for salvation.

If I'm good, I go to heaven. If I'm bad, I go someplace else. This is a Hollywood cartoon parody of Christianity that you might find in Tom and Jerry or something, but it doesn't reflect the historic

Christian faith at all. Ephesians 2, 8 says, quote, For by grace you have been saved through faith, and it is not your own doing.

It is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no man may boast.

So no, your works do not ultimately save you. Faith in Jesus Christ does. And then that faith leads to good works in your life.

And when you combine these statements with the fact that Trump has often surrounded himself with false teachers, like his spiritual advisor

Paula White, for example, you start to get a really worrying picture. If someone had to press me to answer the question, yes or no, do

I think that Trump is a real, authentic Christian? I would lean very heavily towards answering that question with a no.

Unfortunately, you see, assuming Trump believes what he says publicly about Christianity and his faith,

I cannot say with any certainty that he's a brother in Christ. But here's the kicker. I still think that Trump is by far the best alternative for Christians who are voting.

We have two candidates. Kamala Harris is a wicked woman who wants us to take the lives of unborn people and damage the bodies of so -called transgender children.

Trump, on the other hand, at least claims to believe in the Christian God, and his platform will get us much closer to accomplishing the political ends that we want to accomplish as Christians in the long term when we love our neighbor.
