"Thou Shalt Not Enslave" - Russell Moore's Made Up Bible
This is a winsome take on a very serious blunder/lie/deception or something like that. No Quarter: https://dougwils.com/books-and-culture/s7-engaging-the-culture/inerrancy-as-the-queen-mum-of-evangelicalism.html

Well, it turns out that Winsome November is not the first time I've been winsome.
I was very winsome before. You remember Smooth AD? This is actually a really good clip. Cody Liebolt reminded me of it.
This is a good companion piece to Doug Wilson's most recent
No Quarter November article about inerrancy. If you have not read it, I will link to it in the description here.
You should definitely go read it, but look what I said. It's very similar. Very similar. Let's listen to this very winsome guy.
Smooth AD. With an authority that is rooted in Scripture, you shall not kill.
That's what I'm talking about. You shall not enslave. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
Dr. Moore. Hey, that's not in the Bible.
Let's just be honest about that. You know, I always wonder about that. You know, people always talk about slavery like it's the ultimate sin, and I gotta be honest with you.
I don't know if I'm reading the same Bible you're reading. Because in my Bible, it has all kinds of laws about slavery and regulating it.
But one of the things that does not say, Dr. Moore, and I'm trying to be smooth when I say this.
It does not say thou shalt not enslave. That's not one of the Ten Commandments, sir. That's true.
It's not one of the Ten Commandments. But you see what you gotta do, though? ADs, you gotta look at the overarching thrust of the
Bible. You see, that's how you get into all kinds of trouble. The overarching thrust. Because I can play those games, too, with other things, right?
Like, look at the overarching thrust, and that's how you know that sodomy's okay now.
I can play all kinds of games with this. But what people don't want to do, they want to play a lot of games with the
Bible, but they just, they don't want to just believe what it says. That's what I want to do. I just want to believe what it says.
Go ahead and read the No Quarter November article. I think you'll love it. I think you will. I don't know if you will, but hey, do it anyway.
