Ken Ham on Importance of Scripture, Starting with Genesis

See, I imagine in a group here like this if I said to you Do you believe that Jesus Christ bodily rose from the dead? I would hope that you always say Oh, yeah, Jesus Christ bodily rose not dead. But but let me let me make a simple statement.

You weren't there. How do you know Jesus rose from the dead? I mean, where do you get that from? Anyway that he rose from the dead tell me where you're from. You don't have a movie rerun of it. You have in the Bible.

The Resurrection of Jesus and the Authority of Scripture

Okay now look Richard Dawkins, who's a scientist says that a man can't rise from the dead. Because he's a scientist shouldn't we take what he says and reinterpret this and say it's not really a bodily resurrection.

So wait, he's an atheist. He's against God. You can't take his word and reinterpret this. Why not a lot of churches and Christians do that with what he believes about origins and reinterpret Genesis. It's the same thing.

Why Christians Reinterpret Genesis

Look if I was to get into church after church if I'd let me And and even the churches that teach the gospel and I was to do this. Here's what I think what happened. Look, do you believe Jesus walked on water?

Yes. How do you know the Bible says you didn't see it happen? No, well, how do you know the Bible says okay. Do you believe Jesus fed thousands of people because you didn't see it happen? I know that the Bible says do you believe the Israelites crossed the Jordan River and the Red Sea is miracles?

But you didn't see it happen. I know but the Bible says do you believe the Israelites wandered in the desert for 40 years and against everything we experience and observe Today their clothes didn't wear out and their shoes didn't even wear out.

Yeah, I know it sounds sounds um sounds hard to believe but you know what God said that that's what happened and God Can do that so you believe it?

Yeah.

Because the Bible says I see you believe a man was swallowed by a fish and lived in a fish for three days and went And preached to a city. Yeah, well, that's what the Bible says. Yep. Then you get to Genesis in most of our churches and Christian colleges and seminaries today and you say now the Bible says God created in six days man from dust woman from his side.

There was there was a flood that covered the highest hills under the whole of heaven that death came after Adam sin. And what do you hear? Oh, no.

The Genesis 3 Attack on Biblical Authority

It doesn't mean that.

Why not. Because of what Richard Dawkins says. Because of what the secularists are saying. Because of science. Because of. In other words, you don't take what it says here. You take what someone says out there and you reinterpret it and people once you unlock that door.

That's the Genesis 3 attack. Did God really say six days? Did he really say yeah a global flood? Did he really say dust to Adam saw ribbed to Eve? Did he really say death after sin and it moves on over to did he really say virgin birth?

Did he really say resurrection? We wonder why we're losing coming generations. See for the older generation. It doesn't affect, you know. Many of them believed in the gap theory and you know millions of years in some way or the days weren't ordinary days and they ignored Genesis, but they trust in Christ for salvation doesn't affect.

Doesn't affect them going to heaven. You know, what does affect? How the next generation their kids grandkids that the kids they teach at Sunday school have a next generation view scripture itself.
