Daily Bites Of God's Word - Part 16 - Psalm 119:16

Welcome back to Daily Bites, God's Word.

This is Andy Cain. It's a joy to be back with you once again. Today we're looking at Psalm 119 verse 16, which says,

I shall delight or delight myself in your statutes.

I shall not forget your word. Notice that the Christian's stance towards the word of God and because of the word of God is that we find joy and delight in it, in the statutes of God.

The law of God is looked at with disdain, with anger, with a sinful hatred much today.

But the Christian, the one that is one of God's people, delights in it, delights in the statutes of the law of God.

And I shall not forget your word. Now, think about things that you don't forget, that you remember, you memorize.

These things are because you have repeated them, you have thought over them several times, you have digested them, learned them to the point that you know them.

Not just that you can regurgitate or repeat, but that you can truly know what it is you have learned.

And so that is the case here with God's Word. Not just that we delight in it, not just that we know it, but we truly don't forget it when it becomes necessary to follow it, obey it, and when we are up against those that would try to be against it.

And so, much like the psalmist here, I trust that you are delighting in the word of God, not forgetting his word, and having a great day living for God's glory.
