- 00:00
- Morning, morning, everybody.
- 00:08
- This is filmed in front of a live studio audience of cats and a dog.
- 00:17
- They've been fed, so hopefully they will behave. The dog has barked on a couple videos, which is funny.
- 00:28
- This is what I wanted to talk to you, pray with you.
- 00:36
- Hopefully, you guys have something you want to talk about. Ask questions, chat. I'd love to talk to you.
- 00:43
- Let me know you're watching. Say hi. I know it's Saturday morning. It's early.
- 00:51
- Just want to try to catch people at home before they get out about the day.
- 00:58
- I guess feeding the dog didn't work. We're going to pray at the end, so if you would like prayer, type me, and I'll pray for you.
- 01:14
- Even if it's not for you, if it's for something else or someone else, type me. We don't want to air out dirty laundry.
- 01:21
- Don't want to gossip. We just want to pray for you, pray with you.
- 01:27
- Hopefully, you will join me in that. I've already received one prayer request this morning via text message, so we'll be praying for that, and I'll mention that a little bit later.
- 01:38
- Let me know you're here. Let me know you're watching. Ask questions, chat. We can talk about church issues, local issues, biblical questions.
- 01:50
- Love to hear your thoughts, what's going on with you, and for prayer, type me.
- 01:59
- This morning's subject is the best and most exciting subject we could talk about, and I hope that it will be encouraging for you.
- 02:09
- I hope it will lift you up, and it will renew you, as it renews me, as we contemplate and think on this subject, on this issue of victory in Jesus.
- 02:23
- A lot of us are familiar with the song Victory in Jesus. Don't do the concert.
- 02:31
- I was going to ask if you did a concert. Oh, no concert this morning. Also, part of the live studio audience is my wife, who makes me nervous because I'm afraid
- 02:40
- I'm going to say something silly, and I will get eye rolls. So, Victory in Jesus.
- 02:51
- I remember the lyrics this morning as I was reciting them in my head, and now they've left me, but that's okay.
- 03:05
- Our Savior forever, who sought me and bought me with his redeeming blood. He loved me ere
- 03:10
- I knew him, and all my love is due him. I should have had it written down.
- 03:19
- That would have been a lot better. Plunge me to victory with his redeeming blood.
- 03:25
- There we go. Thank you, honey. Can't even remember the lyrics, but we can remember
- 03:36
- Christ. We can remember Jesus. We can ponder on this subject, and I think it's good to ponder on the victory in Jesus.
- 03:50
- Something we forget about is victory in Jesus, the victory that he won, the victory that he has that remains.
- 04:01
- What I want us to ponder on is, do we forget?
- 04:11
- Do we forget about it? And evidence that we forgot about it is how we live our lives.
- 04:17
- The question that I want to propose to you is, which kingdom are you living in?
- 04:28
- And that may be a strange question, but think about it like this. And I want to speak to you,
- 04:35
- Christian. I think if you reflect on your life and you're just trying to decide which kingdom am
- 04:42
- I living in, you can determine if you're even in the kingdom of Christ or not.
- 04:49
- You can determine if you're saved, if you're born again, if you're a believer, if you're a child of his.
- 04:58
- You can determine that, and that's something that we want to determine, if we are actually in the kingdom first and foremost.
- 05:08
- And so as we look at this, ponder on this, and you're reflecting on if you're even in the kingdom by the evidences of your life, we want to talk about that.
- 05:21
- We want to straighten that out, get that fixed, get that resolved, because you want to be in the kingdom first and foremost.
- 05:30
- For God's glory, for your sake, and for your good, you want to be in the kingdom.
- 05:37
- But I wanted to speak to you, Christian, and ask you, which kingdom are you living in?
- 05:46
- Are you living in the kingdom of Christ that the Bible describes that is victorious?
- 05:55
- Or are you living in, as a believer, a kingdom that is depressed, pessimistic, downtrodden, negative, looking for the worst, thinking the worst is yet to come, and everything is so bad, and you live in defeat?
- 06:22
- How can we sing victory in Jesus and live in defeat?
- 06:28
- Morning, Trent. So that's what I want us to think about and ponder on this morning,
- 06:35
- Christian. Which kingdom are you living in? Are you living in the kingdom that we sing about, victory in Jesus, a victorious kingdom, or are you living in a kingdom of defeat?
- 06:45
- And what we want to do is live in the kingdom in which the Bible describes is reality.
- 06:52
- We want to live in the real kingdom, and we will be much more blessed once we live and begin to behave as we're living, as if we are living in that kingdom.
- 07:04
- So which kingdom does the Bible describe, a defeated kingdom or a victorious kingdom?
- 07:13
- Let's look at some scripture this morning. And of course, I hope you know that's what I like to do most is just look at scripture a ton and see what it has to say, see what
- 07:24
- God has to say to us from his scripture. So Thursday night, when
- 07:30
- I did that short prayer time, I read Psalm 46. And it was wonderful and glorious as we got to the end of that chapter that it said in verses 10 and 11, it says, see striving and know that I am
- 07:46
- God. We've got to make that acknowledgment first. I will be exalted among the nations.
- 07:52
- Will he be exalted just in Jerusalem, just in heaven, just in a remote corner of the earth?
- 08:04
- No. Thank you, Trent. I see that message. I'm going to write you down.
- 08:14
- No, he said, I will be exalted among the nations. I will be exalted in the earth, in the earth.
- 08:25
- That's where he will be exalted. The Lord of hosts is with us. The God of Jacob is our stronghold.
- 08:32
- Good morning, Julie. So what does host mean?
- 08:38
- Have we pondered on that before? Verse 11 says, he is the Lord of host. The host of what?
- 08:45
- Host means army. He is the Lord of armies of angels. So if his determination is to be exalted in all the earth, and he has an army to do that with, and we are in that kingdom, we should live as if we are in that kingdom.
- 09:10
- Does our life reveal that we are living in that kingdom where the
- 09:17
- Lord has host? Armies of angels whose goal and direction is to exalt him in all the earth.
- 09:30
- Is that the kingdom that we're living in? Listen, and let me write your name down,
- 09:37
- Trent. And for anybody else that joined us, talk with me, ask questions, chat.
- 09:48
- And at the end, we're going to pray. And if you would like prayer, type me. You don't have to say what it is.
- 09:53
- You don't have to say who it's for. Lord knows all that. We just want to pray for you. Wanted to reach out to you and pray for you throughout the week.
- 10:03
- Church is not just about Sundays or Wednesday nights or Sunday nights. It's about all week long.
- 10:09
- So I want to reach out to you and pray for you, pray with you. So if you would like prayer, type me.
- 10:19
- If you're watching throughout the week, let me know when you watch the video.
- 10:25
- And I'll pray for you during the week. But Isaiah 2, 1 through 5.
- 10:34
- Listen to this scripture. The word which Isaiah, the son of Amos, saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.
- 10:43
- Now it will come about that in the last days. The mountain of the house of the
- 10:49
- Lord will be established as the chief mountain. That's what we're aiming for here.
- 10:58
- And all the nations will string to it. And many peoples will come and say, come, let us go up to the mountain of the
- 11:09
- Lord. To the house of the God of Jacob. That he may teach us concerning his ways. And that we may walk in his paths.
- 11:18
- For the law will go forth from Zion. And the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. And he will judge between the nations.
- 11:25
- And will render decisions for many peoples. And they will hammer their swords into plowshares.
- 11:32
- And their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not lift up sword against nation. And never again will they learn war.
- 11:41
- Come, house of Jacob, and let us walk in the light of the Lord. How can we walk in the light of the
- 11:49
- Lord? With this knowledge that we are part of God's kingdom.
- 11:54
- Who has armies of angels. Whose goal and aim is to establish this chief mountain.
- 12:01
- Where all nations and all people will see this mountain. All nations will string to this mountain.
- 12:09
- And people will say, teach us concerning your ways. That we may walk in your paths. That is the kingdom that we're a part of.
- 12:16
- That is going in a positive direction. So where did this victory start?
- 12:29
- And I'm just going to continue to read scripture. Good morning, Michael. I'm going to continue to read scripture and talk about it.
- 12:38
- But where did this victorious kingdom begin? We have to start at the beginning.
- 12:44
- Colossians 1 .16 For by him all things were created. Both in the heavens and on the earth.
- 12:53
- Visible and invisible. Whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities.
- 13:01
- All things have been created through him and for him.
- 13:07
- We get so overwhelmed living on this earth. And in this kingdom.
- 13:17
- These earthly kingdoms. And these rulers and authorities. We see so much negativity in the news.
- 13:24
- What's going on. And the lives that we live reflect.
- 13:34
- That we're not grasping hold of the fact that we are in a victorious kingdom.
- 13:40
- It says that in the beginning. Going all the way back to the beginning.
- 13:45
- He created all things in heaven and on earth. This earth. Thrones, dominions, rulers, and all authorities.
- 13:54
- Through him and it is for him. And reflect on Isaiah chapter 2.
- 14:01
- For what? That there will be peace. And all the nations will strengthen to him.
- 14:08
- Colossians 2 .14 -15 Having cancelled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us.
- 14:18
- Which was hostile to us. And he had taken it out of the way. Having nailed it to the cross.
- 14:25
- When he had disarmed the rulers and authorities. He made a public display of them.
- 14:30
- Having triumphed over them. Through him. 2 ,000 years ago.
- 14:38
- He claimed victory on the cross. Those that were hostile towards us.
- 14:44
- He took away our enemy. And nailed it to the cross. 2 ,000 years ago.
- 14:49
- He established this kingdom that we live in. And what happened?
- 14:55
- He disarmed rulers and authorities. So what can we think about that?
- 15:03
- How can we reflect on how we live? What does our life look like? As we live.
- 15:10
- How do you. How do I stand before adversity?
- 15:16
- How do we stand before our enemies? Trembling in fear?
- 15:26
- Or do we stand before adversity. Realizing that they have been disarmed.
- 15:35
- We are standing before a disarmed enemy. Good morning Micah. If you would like to prayer type me.
- 15:43
- We are going to pray at the end. If you want to ask questions in the chat. I would love to talk with you. We are talking about victory in Jesus.
- 15:51
- The kingdom that we are living in. And we want to reflect on us Christians. Which kingdom are we living in?
- 15:57
- Are we living in the kingdom that the Bible describes? Or are we living in a kingdom that we have made up.
- 16:04
- Because we see so many terrible things in the world. Are we living in a kingdom of defeat?
- 16:10
- Or are we living in a victorious kingdom? The kingdom that the Bible describes. That is reality.
- 16:17
- Are we living in that reality? That we are living in a victorious kingdom? How do we know that?
- 16:24
- 2 ,000 years ago. Colossians 2. 14 -15. It says on the cross. He claimed victory.
- 16:30
- And in that victory. A part of that victory. He disarmed rulers and authorities.
- 16:38
- So how do you stand before rulers and authorities? Fear and tremble?
- 16:47
- Or do you stand before them as ones who are disarmed? Disarmed by Jesus. 1
- 16:54
- John 4. 2 -4. By this you know the spirit of God. Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh.
- 17:01
- Is from God. And every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God.
- 17:07
- This is the spirit of antichrist. Of which you have heard that is coming.
- 17:13
- And now it is already in the world. You are from God.
- 17:19
- Little children. And have overcome them. Because greater is in the world.
- 17:25
- How many times have we read that verse in Sunday school? In Bible school.
- 17:35
- In church. And teach it to our children. Greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world.
- 17:42
- But how often do we live it? When we are standing before our adversaries. When we are standing before those that oppose
- 17:50
- Christianity. Those that oppose truth. Do we stand before them defeated?
- 17:56
- Looking for the pessimistic side of things. How bad things are going. Going and going to be.
- 18:03
- Or do we stand in victory before our adversaries. Those who have already been disarmed 2 ,000 years ago.
- 18:10
- Because 1 John says greater is he who is in you. Than he who is in the world.
- 18:16
- That is who is on our side. The one who is the Lord of hosts.
- 18:22
- Armies of angels. Who is on our side. Whom side that we are on. Romans 8 37.
- 18:31
- But in all things. We overwhelmingly conquer. Through him who loved us.
- 18:38
- Is a popular verse. We are. Another translation says we are more than conquerors.
- 18:45
- This one says but in all things we overwhelmingly conquer. Through him who loved us. Overwhelmingly conquer.
- 18:53
- Not barely conquer. Not fall back in fear. But overwhelmingly conquer.
- 19:00
- Through him who loved us. When we stand before the adversaries of truth. Who have been disarmed.
- 19:09
- John 16 33. These things I have spoken to you. So that in me. You may have peace.
- 19:17
- In the world you have tribulation. But take courage. I have overcome the world.
- 19:25
- We are. In a savior who has overcome the world. That is the kingdom that we live in.
- 19:34
- Revelation 1. 4 -5. John to the seven churches that are in Asia.
- 19:41
- Grace to you and peace. From him who is. And who was. And who is to come.
- 19:47
- From the seven spirits who are before his throne. And from Jesus Christ. The faithful witness.
- 19:53
- The firstborn of the dead. And the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us.
- 19:59
- And released us from our sins. By his blood. Revelation 2. Ephesians 2.
- 20:05
- 20 -21. Which he brought about in Christ. When he raised him from the dead.
- 20:12
- And seated him at his right hand. In the heavenly places. Far above all rule and authority.
- 20:18
- And power and dominion. And every name. That is named. Not only in this age.
- 20:25
- But also in the one to come. Jesus sits at the right hand of God.
- 20:30
- The place of authority. And his name is above every name. That has ever been named.
- 20:36
- Or will ever be named. In this age or the age to come. And he reigns with authority over.
- 20:43
- All powers and dominions. And authorities. That's the kingdom that we live in. Matthew 3 -2.
- 20:52
- And Mark 1 -15 both say repent. For the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Jesus came to earth.
- 20:59
- Bringing the kingdom. He is the kingdom. Establishing the kingdom. And found victory.
- 21:06
- Established victory. For that kingdom. 2000 years ago on the cross. Hebrews 1 -8.
- 21:13
- But of the son he says. Your throne O God. Is forever and ever.
- 21:20
- And the righteous scepter. Is the scepter of his kingdom. Do we live in a kingdom.
- 21:28
- That is going to be shaken. That is going to be torn down. That is not going to last. That will fade away.
- 21:35
- No. We live in a kingdom. Hebrews says. That is forever and ever.
- 21:44
- If you joined us. If you just logged in. Ask questions.
- 21:50
- Chat. Talk with me. Let me know that you are there. If you like prayer. At the end we are going to pray.
- 21:57
- We are going to pray for you. We are going to pray with you. If you have a prayer request. You don't have to say what it is.
- 22:03
- Or who it is. Just type me. And we will pray for you at the end.
- 22:10
- Michael. I see your prayer request. What does your life reflect?
- 22:23
- Which kingdom are you living in? Which kingdom am I living in? Am I portrayed to the world.
- 22:31
- That I am living in. A kingdom that is defeated. That will come to an end.
- 22:37
- That is shakable. Its foundations will crumble. Or am I living in a kingdom.
- 22:43
- That scripture says. Is forever and ever. Daniel 7 .14
- 22:55
- And to him was given. Dominion. Glory. And a kingdom.
- 23:02
- That all the peoples. Nations and men. Of every language might serve him.
- 23:08
- His dominion. Is an everlasting dominion. Which will not pass away.
- 23:14
- And his kingdom is one. Which will not be destroyed. That is our kingdom.
- 23:21
- That is the kingdom. That we live in. Where our king. Has dominion over all things.
- 23:30
- And peoples. From all nations. And every language will serve him. And his kingdom will not be destroyed.
- 23:36
- It will not pass away. Daniel 2 .44 In the days of those kings.
- 23:42
- The God of heaven will set up a kingdom. Which will never be destroyed. And that kingdom will not be left for another people.
- 23:49
- It will crush. And put an end to all these kingdoms. But it will itself.
- 23:54
- Endure forever. Well that is the Old Testament. Is it speaking about something else?
- 24:03
- Listen to Luke 1 .33 And he will reign over the house of Jacob.
- 24:08
- Forever. And his kingdom will have no end. The Old and the
- 24:16
- New Testament. Confirm that we are in a kingdom. That will have no end. That will last forever and ever.
- 24:23
- Matthew 16 .18 I also say to you.
- 24:30
- That you are Peter. And upon this rock. I will build my church.
- 24:37
- And you are familiar with this. And the gates of Hades. Will not overpower it.
- 24:42
- What are the gates of Hades? The gates of Hades. Is a defensive structure.
- 24:48
- Good morning Lindsay. If you like prayer type me. And I would like to pray for you at the end.
- 24:55
- Anything. Any prayer requests that you might have. Anybody that joins us.
- 25:00
- I would like to pray for you. So. So what about this gate.
- 25:06
- The gates of Hades. The gates of hell. What is it? What is it for?
- 25:12
- The gate is a defensive structure. To keep people out. It's a wall.
- 25:21
- It's borders. And Christ's kingdom.
- 25:28
- Is on the offensive. We are moving forward. We're working towards.
- 25:36
- That chief mountain. Where all nations. Come to him. We're working towards something good.
- 25:43
- And there's a defensive posture here. With this gate of hell. And it says the gates.
- 25:49
- Of Hades. Will not overpower it. The gates of Hades.
- 25:54
- Are not strong enough. To stop the movement. Of the kingdom of Christ.
- 26:00
- That's the kingdom that we live in. Does our lives reflect. That we believe that we live.
- 26:07
- In the victory. That Jesus won 2000 years ago. That his kingdom.
- 26:14
- Will continue to move forward. And last forever and ever. And will not be destroyed.
- 26:19
- And even the gates of hell. Cannot overpower it. Or prevail against it.
- 26:26
- It is not strong enough. To hold back the kingdom of Jesus. Is that the kingdom.
- 26:33
- That we're living in. And first.
- 26:42
- And we've already read. Psalm 46. Where we talk about Jesus. The Lord is the
- 26:48
- Lord of hosts. He has his angels. Armies of angels. That are all about.
- 26:55
- His will. His service. And moving his plan forward. For being exalted.
- 27:02
- Over all the earth. And that's what we're moving towards.
- 27:07
- So my next question is.
- 27:14
- Once we've established that. That we. We believe.
- 27:21
- That we want our lives to reflect. That we live in.
- 27:27
- A victorious kingdom. That Jesus gained the victory. His kingdom has been established.
- 27:33
- And it's moving forward. And it will not end. And that will be our posture.
- 27:38
- Against adversaries against us. Adversaries against Christ. Adversaries against the truth.
- 27:47
- We've established. That will be our posture. Against.
- 27:52
- Against the enemies of the Lord. Against. Against. Powers and principalities.
- 28:02
- In the spiritual realms. Anywhere. Any opposition. To truth.
- 28:08
- To Christ. And his movement. We've established. That our posture.
- 28:14
- Is going to be one. Of living in a kingdom. That is already victorious.
- 28:20
- Not going to be victorious. I watched a video this week. I posted on my
- 28:25
- Facebook. And I would. I'd love for you to watch it. Especially pastors.
- 28:32
- And music leaders. It's about worship. Prayer missions. Preaching. From a biblical perspective.
- 28:40
- And it's very good. And I would encourage you to listen to it. One of the things.
- 28:47
- That intrigued me. That. Pastor Doug Wilson said. Was that a lot of times.
- 28:54
- As Christians as churches. Our mindset. And how we try to proceed.
- 29:00
- With things because of the way we perceive. The kingdom that we live in. Is that we.
- 29:06
- We approach evangelism. Reaching out to the lost. As a presidential election.
- 29:13
- That. We hope we can get. Enough votes for Jesus. That. If we can.
- 29:22
- If that happens. If we can get enough votes for Jesus. Enough people on our side. To vote for Jesus.
- 29:28
- Then we can change this world. We can turn things around. But that's not the kingdom.
- 29:34
- That the Bible describes. The Bible describes a kingdom. That is already victorious.
- 29:40
- That victory has already been won. Gained and established. And that kingdom has been established.
- 29:47
- And that's the kingdom that we live in. A victorious kingdom. Not a kingdom.
- 29:53
- Where we have to. Gain popularity. Win votes for Jesus.
- 30:00
- And hopefully. If we get enough people on our side. We can turn things around. No. The victory has already been won.
- 30:07
- And that's the kingdom that we live in. So we've established. That's the posture.
- 30:12
- That we want to live in. That we want to. When we stand before opposition.
- 30:20
- That we want to have. We want to have that posture. That mindset. That heart. Where we're living in victory.
- 30:27
- That they've already been disarmed. And Jesus has already won. And. I want to look at one more
- 30:38
- Psalm. Psalm 22. If you join us.
- 30:55
- Let me know that you're there. Say hi. Ask questions. Chat.
- 31:00
- Just say hi. If you like prayer. I want to pray at the end.
- 31:06
- I want to reach out to whoever may need prayer. This morning. Pray for you.
- 31:11
- Pray with you. Just type me. Let me know that you would like. Like prayer this morning.
- 31:20
- But. The last part. That I wanted to. Talk about.
- 31:27
- Is what happens. Once we've established. That fact. Of which kingdom that we are truly living in.
- 31:34
- Not a defeated kingdom. But a victorious kingdom. How do we behave?
- 31:42
- What does that look like? Practically. Application wise.
- 31:49
- What does that look like? What do we do? Psalm 22. The first verse is going to be.
- 31:56
- Very familiar to you. It's going to be. A quote.
- 32:04
- That Jesus used. When he was on the cross. Think about what
- 32:11
- Christ went through. The horrible pain and suffering. That he went through.
- 32:19
- And this is the song that he quoted. In obedience.
- 32:25
- In right response. To. To God. And. As an example.
- 32:33
- Of how we should live. In his kingdom. So when.
- 32:38
- He was on the cross. He quoted this song. In perfect obedience.
- 32:44
- Proper response to God. And as an example for us. So how then shall we live?
- 32:50
- Listen to Psalm 22. Some parts of it. Don't sound victorious.
- 32:58
- But it's. It's the pattern. It's. It's what else is said. In response to.
- 33:05
- The reflection of the current circumstances. Starting in verse 1.
- 33:11
- My God, my God. Why hast thou forsaken me? Far from my deliverance.
- 33:17
- Are the words of my groaning. Oh my God. I cry by day.
- 33:23
- But thou dost not answer. And by night. But I have no rest. Yet.
- 33:30
- Thou art holy. O thou who art. Enthroned upon the praises.
- 33:35
- Of Israel. Indeed our fathers trusted. They trusted and thou didst deliver them.
- 33:42
- To thee they cried out. And were delivered. Indeed they trusted. And were not disappointed.
- 33:49
- But I am a worm. And not a man. A reproach of men.
- 33:54
- And despised by the people. All who see me. Sneer at me.
- 34:00
- They separate with the lip. They wag the head. Saying.
- 34:06
- Commit yourself to the Lord. Let him deliver him. Let him rescue him.
- 34:13
- Because he delights in him. Yet thou art he. Who didst bring me forth.
- 34:19
- From the womb. Thou didst make me trust. When upon my mother's breast.
- 34:25
- Upon thee. I was cast from birth. Thou hast been my God. From my mother's womb.
- 34:31
- Be not far from me. For trouble is near. For there is none to help.
- 34:37
- My bulls have surrounded me. Strong bulls of passion. Have encircled me. They open wide their mouth at me.
- 34:45
- As a ravening and roaring lion. I am poured out like water. And all my bones are out of joint.
- 34:52
- My heart is like wax. It is melted within me. My strength is dried up.
- 34:58
- Like a post herd. And my tongue cleaves. To my jaw. And thou dost lay me.
- 35:05
- In the dust of death. For dogs have surrounded me. A band of evil doers encompass me.
- 35:11
- They pierce my hands and my feet. I can count all my bones. They have. They look.
- 35:17
- They stare at me. They divide my garments among them. And for my clothing they cast lots.
- 35:24
- But thou, O Lord, be not far off. O thou my help.
- 35:30
- Hasten to my assistance. Deliver my soul from the sword. My only life from the power of the dog.
- 35:36
- Save me from the lion's mouth. From the horns of the wild oxen. Thou dost answer me. I will tell of thy name to my brethren.
- 35:43
- In the midst of the assembly. I will praise thee. You who fear the Lord, praise him.
- 35:49
- All you descendants of Jacob. Glorify him. And stand in awe of him. All you descendants of Israel.
- 35:57
- Jesus went through the most horrific thing that anyone could go through.
- 36:02
- Good morning Michelle. And yet, he was aware of the situation.
- 36:10
- And he describes the situation. This is a prophecy that came fulfilled in Jesus. What happened here happened to Jesus.
- 36:18
- And it came to pass. And it reflects on this horrible incident that Jesus went through.
- 36:25
- We can't even fathom in our minds what Jesus went through. And he is aware of it. He is aware of his situation.
- 36:33
- Of his surroundings. And yet, this is what he says. O thou who art enthroned upon the praises of Israel.
- 36:46
- Another version says the Lord inhabits the praise of his people.
- 36:56
- God finds delight and lives and works through and in the worship and praise of his people.
- 37:04
- Even though he was going through all this shame. He was to the point of death.
- 37:12
- He said, I will tell Israel, I will tell my brethren to praise you, to fear you, to glorify you.
- 37:22
- No matter the circumstances, we are to praise, to fear, and to glorify
- 37:29
- God. Because he has the victory. He won the victory 2 ,000 years ago. And how are we to live?
- 37:36
- As Christ lived. As the example that he gave, despite the circumstances, despite the adversary that stands before us, we understand that he inhabits the praise of his people.
- 37:49
- That's where he is. And that's where we move forward in his kingdom. When we praise and worship him.
- 37:57
- And how do we do that? We praise him. We glorify him. We fear him.
- 38:03
- We stand in awe of him. Because he has disarmed our adversaries. The adversaries of us, of Christ, and the truth.
- 38:10
- They are disarmed. His kingdom will move forward. And it will have no end. That's the kingdom that is real.
- 38:18
- That scripture describes. So, after we looked at the scriptures, have you determined which kingdom that you're living in?
- 38:32
- Are you living in a kingdom that sees the world around it, sees the trouble, the distress, and are downtrodden, depressed, defeated, because of what you see?
- 38:49
- Are you defeated because you have a certain theology, a certain understanding of the
- 38:55
- Bible that says things are going to get bad, and you're depressed about it.
- 39:03
- You're overwhelmed by it. Or are you living in the kingdom that the
- 39:09
- Bible describes? The victorious kingdom. The kingdom that Jesus gained the victory over 2 ,000 years ago.
- 39:19
- Which kingdom do we live in? So, I would implore you, live in that kingdom.
- 39:29
- Live in the kingdom that has already won, that is victorious.
- 39:35
- And move out in worship. Move out into the world in praise, in fear, and glorify
- 39:42
- God. Stand in awe of Him as you stand before the world, as you go out into the world and you stand before your adversaries who have already been disarmed.
- 39:52
- Go out and live in that kingdom, the victorious kingdom where we have victory in Jesus.
- 40:04
- Now, back to the statement that I made earlier. I wanted to speak to those of us who are
- 40:10
- Christians. Good morning, Ryan. Good morning, Janice. Good morning, Mom and Dad. If you'd like prayer, type me.
- 40:17
- We're going to pray here in just a few minutes for those that have mentioned they want prayer.
- 40:30
- Good morning, Todd. So, I wanted to speak to Christians for us to reflect on which kingdom that we're living in.
- 40:40
- A defeated kingdom or the kingdom that the Bible describes, the victorious kingdom. But I mentioned that first and foremost, we want to establish when you reflect on this, reflect on your life and how you live, you can also determine if you're even in the kingdom.
- 40:57
- And that's what we want to straighten out first. That's what we want to get right first. Are we even in the kingdom of Christ?
- 41:05
- Because it's for God's glory and it's for your good and it has eternal consequences.
- 41:12
- There's a heaven and there's a hell. And we want to be with the
- 41:18
- Lord forever in heaven. And we want to live in his victory that allows us to go to heaven here on this earth where he has authority over all powers and rulers, has dominion over all things that he's created.
- 41:35
- So, are you in that kingdom? In Matthew and Mark, the verses that we quoted earlier,
- 41:43
- Jesus says, repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
- 41:48
- Believe in the gospel. So what are we commanded from the Lord? Realize our sin.
- 41:57
- Have we sinned against God? Yes, all of us has. James chapter 2 verse 10 says, if we've kept the whole law and yet stumbled at one point, then we're guilty of all.
- 42:09
- So we've all sinned, we've all fallen short of the mark of God's glory. Jesus commands us to repent, to apologize, and to turn from our sins.
- 42:22
- And then he tells us to turn towards him in faith, trusting in him to save us, trusting in his victory on the cross.
- 42:31
- And he said, if we'll do that, he'll give us a new heart, we'll be born again, and we'll be his child forever.
- 42:38
- And that can't be taken away. We will be in a kingdom that will live forever, and our salvation, our membership of that kingdom can never be taken away.
- 42:50
- So from now on, we will always live in victory. Good morning, Jason. We will always live in victory because we are in a victorious kingdom, once you're in that kingdom.
- 43:02
- So are you in that kingdom? Have you repented of your sins and trusted in Christ? I would implore you to make that right today.
- 43:14
- And then if you are in that kingdom, live in the kingdom that the Bible describes, that victorious kingdom.
- 43:20
- So let's go ahead and pray for those that have requested prayer.
- 43:29
- I got a text this morning that a pastor's wife is not doing well this morning. She's pretty sick.
- 43:35
- So we want to remember her. We want to remember
- 43:40
- Trent, Michael, and Michelle. And anybody else that wants to comment real quick, type me.
- 43:51
- Let me see you so that I can pray for you by name. Alright, if you're with me, pray with me and join me in prayer.
- 44:14
- Father, we thank you for this day that you've given us. A day where you promise that your mercies are new every morning.
- 44:23
- Your grace is sufficient and all that you do is good. We thank you for your word.
- 44:30
- We thank you that we can read it and understand who you are and what you reveal to us is awesome and unfathomable.
- 44:42
- So good we can't comprehend. So Father, we just praise you for your goodness.
- 44:50
- We want to lift up these names to you this morning and pray for Allison, that you would help her to feel better, walk with her in this time.
- 45:00
- Pray for Trent, that you will bless him, help him in his sickness.
- 45:06
- I think he, I read something about pneumonia. I pray that you would help him, comfort him, strengthen him.
- 45:18
- I know these illnesses, sicknesses can take a toll on our body and our mind and our heart and our spirit.
- 45:29
- So I pray that you would lift him up. Pray for Michael, that you would bless him, help him in his need, whatever need that he had in mind this morning,
- 45:42
- I pray and lift it up to you and put it in your hands for your glory. Father, pray for Michelle, that you would also bless her, help her this morning, the decisions and the things that are going on in her life.
- 46:01
- Lift her up to you, that you would be with her, walk with her, and give her direction and help.
- 46:07
- In Jesus name we pray, Amen. Appreciate you watching, joining, being with me.
- 46:16
- And again, just want to encourage you to be a member of this kingdom.
- 46:24
- Repent of your sins and trust in Christ. And if you are in Christ, go and live in victory.
