10:03: We are having a trail mix hike Wednesday we're meeting here at 8 a .m..
10:09: And we're going to North Jersey about an hour and 45 minutes away to Mount Tammany So if everyone is welcome to come if you're about Under six years old it might be too much of a hike for you
10:21: If you're a strong six -year -old or over it'd be good, or if you're too old Maybe you want to hang back, but everyone is invited if they think they can make the hike.
10:30: It's about Three and a half miles up and then three and a half miles down so it isn't uphill both ways in the snow
10:37: It'll be fun Pastor Jeff is packing peanut butter and jelly sandwiches along with trail mix
10:43: So we'll have fun if you want to bring more than that feel free if you can make it 8 a .m.

12:39: So when he comes up give him a warm welcome and other than that worship team So this first song is a hymn we're going to start with a hymn, this is the love of God And it just speaks our verse on the screen speaks of for God so loved and it's just so hard to put into for us to fathom the love of God for us, but As We come before the
13:12: Lord. Let's just bow our hearts in prayer dear Heavenly Father Lord, we come to you in the name of your
13:18: Son and we Bring hearts full of worship Lord God for you.
13:23: We have treasured you up in our hearts or God and Jesus for your gift that you've given to us
13:29: Lord and There's no words that we can we can speak God But we just pray that by your
13:35: Holy Spirit You would draw out that love for you that we have in our hearts or God as we sing these songs of praise and adoration

33:44: We've disclosed Denny from a local pastor's meeting that meets at an undisclosed location at an undisclosed time
33:51: And without further ado, why don't we give a warm welcome to Denny Barger Come on up Well, he said, shout amen
34:13: I'm up here hoping the Lord will show me where I didn't put my bookmark in Tim, before you leave, a quick quiz
34:24: I'm going to say a word in Arabic and I want you to say it in English, okay? In fact, you can all join in, this is a quiz, pop quiz, okay?
34:31: Because I found out in all my travels there are three words known in every language
34:36: So I speak a little Arabic, I'm going to give it to you in Arabic You ready? First one's easy
34:44: Ameen Amen I was glad,
35:18: I was glad when they said let us go into the house of the Lord Are you glad to be here today?
35:24: I mean, there's probably 10 ,000 other places you could be But this is the place the Lord wants you to be
35:29: And we're here together worshipping Him And that's just a wonderful, wonderful thing
35:35: I travel in places where, you know, it's a little challenging to worship the
35:40: Lord openly And I'll share some of that with you But this is where I go
35:47: That's my happy place right there And my wife and I had the privilege of living in Cairo for five and a half years
35:57: When we were young And later in Bahrain for more than seven years Our ministry began back in 1977
36:07: We got saved in 75, married in 76 But we were poor kids in college, didn't have any money
36:14: Couldn't take a honeymoon So the Lord gave us one about a year later
36:20: And we were able to go to Europe And smuggle Bibles behind the Iron Curtain Now usually if I say that to a high school crowd
36:29: People just start looking like this What's the Iron Curtain? But you know what it is
36:34: And that's the place that divided, you know, the freedom to worship God And, you know, atheist communism
36:43: Praise the Lord that you were born in America Or that you live here in America I said this at the first service
36:50: It's not in my notes But I really encourage you to go out and vote We live in the greatest country in the world
36:57: And many people around the world You see them coming in by the millions You know, however they can get here
37:03: Why is that? Because here we have freedom of speech And freedom of religion In our church in Bahrain In Bahrain there were police outside the door
37:12: They were there saying they were protecting us But, you know, who knows what other reasons they were there for You don't have that here
37:21: You have freedom And that's a wonderful thing You can share your faith with anybody you want to The only person stopping you from doing that Is you
37:32: So we're going to talk a little bit about that But Jeff asked me to share with you about our ministry
37:37: It's called Dreams Alive The Arab American Alliance for Relief and Development That's a big title
37:42: But it's like an umbrella Which gives us the right to do whatever we feel like And that's why it is
37:49: So let's put one up there Jacob Alright, way back in 1982
37:56: We were able to go and live in Egypt And by God's grace I was called to minister
38:01: Among garbage collectors They were all Christians Who had moved from the southern part of Egypt To the city because they could
38:09: They raised pigs And, you know, a lot of you think What? Pigs in the Middle East? Yeah, there's
38:15: Christians There's a lot of Christians in the Middle East They were allowed to raise pigs They went to the city to collect the garbage
38:20: To feed the pigs And of course they did a lot of recycling I think it's
38:26: March of 1983 National Geographic We're on the cover Not me and Sue But the garbage village
38:32: For their recycling And in that picture you can see These are three little girls Carrying big tins of rubbish on their head
38:41: And they're taking it to be recycled This is a street scene And that's what they lived in In those houses
38:49: And it was an amazing time They had it rough there
38:55: There's no doubt about it I was told that over 60 % of the children died
39:01: By their fifth birthday That's a lot of death And they never even named them
39:08: Until they were living at least one week It was quite a situation I myself was blessed with amoebic dysentery
39:15: Three times You don't want that I'm kind of tongue in cheek Saying a blessing there
39:21: But, you know, these little bugs get inside you And they were building condominiums
39:27: In my intestines for a while Until I figured it out But we were there And it was actually a wonderful thing
39:35: While there I served with a pastor Named Simon Abraham Let's see the next one
39:43: This was the church And the way I found it You can see some of the homes around the church
39:49: And that thing under construction is a school And again, by God's grace We were able to help build a school
39:54: And help build a hospital They have a hospital in there now At that time there was no hospital
40:00: No doctors I used to walk around with a bag With medical stuff in it And I'm no doctor
40:06: You wouldn't want me operating on you I'll tell you that But, you know, I'd see people on the street Remember one lady had her arm all bandaged up And she said, can you help me?
40:16: And so she took the bandages off And she had a slice of tomato And an onion slice in there
40:22: Trying to heal a wound Well, at least I knew how to dress a wound So we could help
40:27: But today, again, God's grace And faithful people There's a hospital there for those folks
40:33: And it looks so much better I mean, you should have seen the day They brought asphalt into the streets
40:39: I was so giddy I almost got down and kissed the ground It was amazing But while we were there
40:46: Saman and I used to go About once a week we'd go There was a cave above the slum
40:54: Easily accessible And there was a man named Galini Who lived in that cave
41:00: He was a hermit And he just stayed in that cave And so we'd bring him some food Check up on him
41:06: And he would often say he saw angels And so we'd get up there And Saman would say, well
41:12: Galini Are the angels here today? And he'd point up in the car There's some over there
41:18: And I didn't see them The angels And I always wondered
41:25: Is Galini a madman? Or am I a man of little faith? Because I can't see the angels
41:31: Well, about Galini died And about 1988, 89
41:39: Saman felt led of the Holy Spirit To dig the dirt out of that cave And this is what came of it
41:45: Jacob, that's a 20 ,000 seat Outdoor church They call it the cave church
41:51: If you have a chance, go home Look up cave churches Cairo And people come from All over the world to go there
41:59: And worship And Saman preached Christ crucified He was a strong preacher He passed away last
42:05: October And you know, over 40 ,000 People came to his funeral
42:11: That's amazing This is just one guy Didn't really know the
42:16: Lord Wasn't a priest, but met these garbage collectors God put it on his heart to minister to them
42:21: He became a priest for their sake And It was good It was a good time
42:29: So, I asked you Was Galini a madman? Or was I a man of little faith? I know
42:36: I was a man of little faith I believe there were angels there There might be some in the corners here, who knows
42:45: So Also, during that time From 1982 to 2023 More than 8 ,000
42:52: Muslims Were baptized into Christ In that place Let me tell you something 8 ,000
43:00: Muslims Became Christians In that one church And to give up Islam To become a
43:07: Christian It behooves your family To change your mind And if they can't change your mind
43:13: They have the right to kill you Or put you in a mental institute Because who would leave the divine
43:19: Religion of Islam Do you understand when people give their heart To Jesus in that part of the world
43:24: It's like putting a target around themselves And we love them You know, and we've had opportunities
43:30: Some of them couldn't stay there And we were able to get them out into Europe And other places where they had freedom
43:35: I tell you this again Cherish that constitution you have people Don't let anybody take that Away from you
43:43: It was given to you by God And we have such freedom here I wouldn't be in this church if we didn't have that freedom
43:51: Anyway We were there loving the Lord In 2008 We came back to the
43:57: States I wanted to go to Bible college And we did that for a while And we began
44:03: Dreams Alive Now initially we began Teaching Christians How to reach out to Muslims And there was actually a couple here
44:12: In the last service who said Hey do you remember us we were in your class And I took them to a mosque
44:17: And you think why would he do that Well to get you over your fear
44:24: And you know Hear it from the horse's mouth I had a group down in Atlantic City One time after the six weeks
44:30: Of lessons we went to the mosque And they asked the Imam They said if you died tonight would you go to heaven
44:35: You ever hear that question He said I don't think so I don't know He said that's up to God Now this is the leader of the mosque
44:44: He doesn't know if he's gone to heaven After doing all the things he's done Well why is that sir Well you know
44:50: God is so precocious That you could give your heart to him But maybe you did a sin
44:56: That he never forgave nor will he And for a Muslim getting into heaven Is like going on the edge of a sword
45:02: And God can just look down and go Sorry Anyway it would blow you into the cavern
45:11: Of hell They have no assurance Christian If you died tonight
45:19: Do you know where you'd be going Okay We sang about the blood of Jesus It's the blood of Jesus that's going to get us into heaven
45:27: And even while we were singing today I just started praying And I said Lord you know if I die
45:33: Please when I open my eyes Let me see your beautiful face That's the goal That's the goal
45:39: God is less concerned about your comfort Than he is about your commitment Do you love him
45:45: He loves you we're going to talk about that in a minute So anyway In 2012 we had a chance to go back
45:52: And live in the middle east once again And we moved to a little country called Bahrain Okay If you were in the service you might know about Bahrain We have a large military base there
46:03: About 5000 Americans So I served as a pastor there And we had 70 different nations
46:11: Nationalities Attending that church in the 7 years And guess what We all got along with each other
46:16: We didn't argue about the color of the carpet We didn't have a carpet But it was a wonderful experience
46:23: And look at our neighbors Saudi Arabia and Iran And it's kind of a
46:29: Fun place to live really By the way We do a lot of Fundraising and support missionaries as well
46:38: And we've got Folks that have just moved with their children Into Saudi Arabia Because by God's grace
46:46: It's opening up And you can go there as a tourist now I couldn't go
46:52: Even I live so close I wanted to go into Saudi I couldn't do it Because you have to have an identity card
46:57: Okay You'll be carrying one of them soon Don't worry At least that's what the
47:02: Bible says Anyway on my card It said I was a priest And they didn't allow priests in Saudi Arabia Well all that's changing
47:12: God is opening a wide door And if you feel like the Lord may lead you To go into one of the darkest places
47:18: On the planet See me afterwards These friends of mine went in a few months back
47:24: And there was a big concert Now get this Saudi Arabia Do you know what it's like there?
47:30: Women all covered and all you can see is their eyeballs Couldn't drive cars
47:35: They're allowed now to drive Anyway my friends went in And there was a big concert
47:41: An outdoor concert 100 ,000 people attended Guess who the headliners were Metallica I'm like I wouldn't listen to Metallica in America Let alone in Saudi Arabia The world has just gone crazy
47:55: But in the craziness God is opening doors So they went to the concert and started talking to people
48:01: About faith and about the Lord So we lived in Bahrain We loved it
48:06: Susan my lovely wife Was a kindergarten teacher there Where she could love on the kids
48:13: And that was a wonderful experience for her It was a wealthy Muslim school
48:19: In fact one day She had the kids on the carpet Sitting there and reading them a story
48:24: About a young girl who was a princess And this little girl said Miss Sue I'm a princess
48:31: And she said something like Well you know all daddies think their little girls are a princess And she goes oh no
48:37: Miss Sue I'm a real princess You don't hear that in New Jersey right? Well she heard it there
48:43: And I asked her one time Why do you do that? Why are you working in that particular school?
48:49: Because their motto In the school was to teach Western critical thinking
48:55: And Coupled with Islamic values I said well you're a Christian how's that working out?
49:01: She said well the values they're talking about Are you know be a good Have a good home, have a good marriage
49:06: Get your kids to college Respect people, that kind of stuff She said but the reason
49:12: I'm there She said these children May in fact grow up And be influenced by people
49:18: That want them to hate Now you understand You know there's a war going on With Hamas and Israel Hamas are haters
49:28: And they hate you There's a saying in the Middle East First comes Saturday Then comes
49:34: Sunday Once the Jews who worship on Saturday Are gone We're coming after you
49:41: Christians Okay so They teach the kids to hate And it's a sad thing
49:48: Not all But she said If these kids grow up And when they're you know
49:55: Late teens, early twenties Someone wants them to hate Jews, Christians And anybody else that isn't like them
50:00: I want them to remember Miss Sue And how much
50:06: I love those kids Well here's your chance Amen Love wins the day
50:14: Love Not your opinion about politics Or global warming
50:20: Or anything else It's a love of Christ flowing through you Flawed as you are
50:25: Flowing through you into others And it's such a blessing To show authentic Christian love
50:33: Jesus said A new command I give you Love one another as I have loved you So you must love
50:40: Another, one another By this everyone will know that you are My disciples if you love
50:46: One another So Again in Sarr Fellowship That was the name of our church
50:54: I was privileged to be the pastor We had a lot of Americans But there was over 70 nationalities there
50:59: And only the Lord knows how many denominations there were I mean Catholics would come Orthodox, Protestants of all flavors
51:06: And This was a day we had a baptism And as you see the guy on the left
51:12: Was a Bahraini, is a Bahraini A former Muslim And you got three Chinese girls
51:17: A girl from Sri Lanka and a South African And yes it's shaded for a reason But It was amazing
51:24: After that particular baptism One of the Chinese gals was given a testimony
51:30: And I want to read to you what she said I was an atheist Living in a communist dictatorship
51:37: God moved me to An Islamic monarchy In order to meet Jesus The Jewish Prince of Peace And be baptized by a
51:45: Christian pastor from America Wow How far the hand of God will reach To save sinners like me
51:52: Thank you Now the rest of you listen Amen God saved you
51:59: And I bet you if I went back And talked to some of your cousins When you were a teenager they'd all say
52:05: Boy that was a miracle I know I was a miracle And I'm so grateful to God For my salvation
52:13: I hope you are as well So a wee bit more of the ministry We go to Jordan once a year
52:20: Actually more than that but once a year We go This is my friend Pastor Hypham And that's what we do there
52:28: Let's see the next one Jacob Medical mission trip A big deal for us
52:34: This was our team last year And we went again February If you are a medical professional
52:39: And you can give up a week of your life We'll work you half to death Ok My team sees roughly 500 -600 people
52:48: Most of them, vast majority of them Refugees from Iraq and Syria From those wars
52:55: There's still residue going on over there Because of the wars, it's a mess But they see them
53:01: And bless them, they always ask if they can pray for them And we always pray in the name of Jesus They give them scripture
53:07: And hope for the best So we got that going on And if you want to stay longer in a week
53:13: We can work that out too We also have a school there And we call it the
53:18: Good Shepherd School And if you can read that Since 2015 over 2000 Refugee kids have received
53:25: An education in our school And that's a wonderful thing You may not understand this
53:31: Because by God's grace we have not had a war On this particular place In America here
53:36: For well over 100 years But when a war starts Education stops
53:43: Business stops, life stops I had a group of pastors Over there one time
53:49: Introducing them to the area And we were sitting with an Iraqi guy from Baghdad Who had lost everything
53:54: And he's talking with the biggest smile on his face ever He said I had a business
53:59: I had two businesses actually I lost them both, I lost my home I had to take what I could and get out
54:05: Because the Muslim neighbors wanted to kill them And it just wasn't safe And he was there in Jordan He said but you know what
54:12: I was too busy to go to church back then He was born a Christian But that didn't mean anything
54:18: He didn't bother But now that he was in Jordan As a refugee he said you know what I gave my heart to Jesus And while he's talking
54:27: I hear this crying behind me And I turn around and it's a pastor From Vineland who was with me
54:32: And I said Frank are you okay And he goes I've never heard anything more beautiful In my life
54:38: My friends please cherish Cherish your salvation Cherish the fact that God looked at you
54:45: And thought there's somebody I want in my life And so God saved you from your sin
54:51: And from hell God is so good Now where am
54:57: I I was thinking about Baptism Tim said there's a chance to be baptized
55:04: In the ocean I used to serve a church just outside of Long Beach Island and one day
55:10: Some teenagers came to me and said Pastor we want to get baptized I said really
55:16: Well that's good but we don't want to get baptized In any swimming pool, hot tub or the bay We're surfers
55:22: They said we want to be baptized in the ocean I said okay Now you've got to understand for a pastor to have teenagers
55:29: Come to him and they say they want to be baptized That's a pretty cool thing So I looked around the congregation
55:35: And found the biggest toughest guy There he used to be in Jimmy Carter's Honor Guard as a
55:40: Coast Guardsman himself His name was Alvin I said Alvin these kids want to get baptized In the ocean
55:45: I don't want to look like the three stooges And I certainly don't want to lose any of them I got your back pastor
55:54: So Tim I don't know where you are but I wonder If you're going to be baptized in the ocean or the bay I challenge you go to the ocean
55:59: But make sure one of these big guys goes with you Northern Iraq No I've got to stay in Jordan for a minute
56:07: You've got to hear this because it shocked me And much doesn't shock me anymore We decided to minister to Palestinian refugees
56:14: Who were living in a place There weren't any trees at all It was literally a concrete jungle And little skinny streets
56:21: I was a bit nervous going into where we were going Because I don't like skinny streets in the Middle East You know where they can block streets
56:27: And do that kind of stuff By the way I am not a courageous person My biggest nightmare is
56:33: Somebody sticking a black bag over my head And me being kidnapped I hope that never happens If it happened to one of you
56:40: I'd pray for you My wife and I already talked about this I said honey
56:46: They'd probably only do it just to get money She said well you just tell them we don't have any 48 years of marriage
56:53: Find some money Come on Anyway let me get back to it So we were in this
56:59: Palestinian refugee place Terrible place We decided to go in and bless the kids Teach about God's love for them
57:05: And there was a magician Who did you know Stuff that was fun for the kids What do you call it
57:13: Sleight of hand and all that And while that's going on I'm talking to the mayor of that area
57:20: And it's a woman And she's totally covered All you can see is her eyes She's got gloves on and everything
57:25: And I said so madam what is your biggest problem In this slum
57:31: She said young girls Getting married I said what do you mean by that Well you know 11, 12, 13
57:39: So I was kind of chewing on that For a minute And then I said well what's your second biggest problem
57:45: Young girls getting divorced What do you mean by that Well you know 16, 17
57:50: These old guys like them young She said My friends I'm telling you that To ask you to pray
57:58: People need Jesus And that's what Islam allows You know the prophet
58:04: Married one when she was seven And consummated it when she was nine And I had a conversation
58:10: With a guy out in the middle of the desert one time In Jordan he was trying to push my buttons Telling me the bible was full of lies
58:16: And all this And I said yeah well at least my prophet Wasn't a polygamist or a pedophile
58:22: And he said what is that And I explained it to him And he got really mad
58:29: And then I thought Denny you are the dumbest guy in the world You're in the middle of the desert Talking to this guy and he might have a knife
58:36: I mean he was serving us lamb He had to slice it What did you say dear
58:47: Yeah Oh the bag on the head Hey I got faith man
58:54: I'm going to tell you Last time I was in Jordan I let this guy Shave me with a straight razor I said my faith is growing
59:03: Yeah it turned out he was a Syrian Refugee and the church Had blessed his family
59:08: Can you imagine I mean there's no coincidence in the world But he was so blessed he was happy to Give me a shave and a haircut
59:16: Iraq We go up there I just got back Actually a couple weeks ago We live in Ocean County but I go back and forth
59:24: As often as I can And this was the school You can see it's a mess That thing on the right was the heater for the winter time
59:32: And the government Really down in Baghdad they don't really care About the Christian people up there
59:37: These people are Assyrians We minister to six different villages there And Again by God's grace
59:45: And people giving to the ministry We were able to change it Jacob there you go that's the school
59:51: The way it looks today In the middle up there Is my friend Ramon he's the principal
59:56: And they have a wonderful School today I got a chance to hang out
01:00:02: With Ramon you know and fellowship Together and one day we went to church It was a special service where All the villages came together
01:00:10: And they had a bishop show up And you know so we worshipped And had communion and Afterwards Ramon said hey you want to meet
01:00:18: The bishop and I wasn't too keen on it But you know I don't have a bishop In my life so it was a little different But anyway

01:02:18: Verse is a blessing That Zephaniah Is pouring out especially for The people of Judah but for all of us

01:02:37: God is In your midst a mighty One who will save He will rejoice over you
01:02:44: With gladness he will Quiet you by his love He will exalt over you

01:02:57: God is in Your midst and I would ask you Do you believe that do you believe
01:03:02: That God actually cares for You that he watches over you You know the Bible says a man makes
01:03:08: His plans but the Lord guides his steps Do you believe that You know even Jesus said
01:03:13: Wherever two or three or more Of you are gathered I am there In your midst okay so The Lord is with us
01:03:22: And we need to know that deep Down in our knower Fact is you know
01:03:27: God has actually known you Longer than you've known yourself Jeremiah chapter 1
01:03:34: Verse 5 God declares this He says before I formed you in the womb I knew you before you were
01:03:40: Born I sanctified You that means he set you Apart unto him so all
01:03:46: Those life experiences that you've Had in the education and all that It's been building to a point
01:03:52: Where you can serve him Save people Serve people
01:03:59: Can you get that Save people serve People would you say that Save people serve people

01:05:17: Don't have to work for his affection you don't Have to get right before God Before he accepts you you know
01:05:23: There was nobody at the doors here you know Checking we dress properly or whatever No you came in because you have the
01:05:29: Freedom and God grants us that freedom To worship him I love it you don't have to Clean up your act he'll do it for you
01:05:37: Ephesians chapter 2 verse 4 And 5 reads this but God being rich in mercy
01:05:43: Because of the great love With which he loved us even when we Were dead in our trespasses
01:05:48: He made us alive together with Christ By grace you have been Saved God's love is
01:05:55: Unconditional it's Unending and it's Unmistakable God wants to pour
01:06:01: His love out on you now Zephaniah knew That and so as we look at That passage he breaks
01:06:07: Down some of these characteristics of God he tells us more about God and the First next thing he says or The first thing he says
01:06:14: God is a Mighty one who will save A mighty one who will save We got that that's not
01:06:20: God But doesn't he look tough okay I wouldn't want to meet that guy in a dark Alley but God is
01:06:27: A mighty warrior a Mighty one in the original Greek it says He's a victorious warrior
01:06:33: He fights for you and me And he's victorious Don't lose sight of that okay
01:06:39: He wins Turn with me to 2nd Kings chapter 6 I want to share a
01:06:45: Story with you you probably Know this one well But to set it up Elisha Well Israel and Syria Are at war and Elisha The prophet has been going to the king
01:06:59: Of Israel and guiding him If you will and telling Him things so that Israel is always kind of On the top when it comes to battles
01:07:07: And maneuvers and all that Sort of thing so The king of Syria is upset
01:07:14: And let's see Where do I want to start he goes So far in verse 11 he says the mind of the King of Syria was greatly troubled because Of this thing and he called his
01:07:23: Servants and said to them will you Not show me who of us is For the king of Israel he thought they had a
01:07:29: Spy in their midst okay And they said verse 13 one of his servants said none my
01:07:35: Lord O king but Elisha The prophet who is in Israel tells The king of Israel the words
01:07:40: That you speak in your bedroom And we can learn something there Never never never
01:07:47: Make decisions especially The major ones without Consulting the Lord go to The Lord in prayer when you feel good about It in your spirit then step out
01:07:57: And do it but or don't Do it so anyway he He puts a hit out on Elisha He said go and see where he is that I May send and seize him it was
01:08:07: Told him behold he's in Dothan So he sent their horses and chariots And a great army
01:08:12: And they came by night and Surrounded the city Well the next
01:08:19: Morning Elisha's Servant gets up maybe he's gone up On the roof for water or something but he
01:08:25: Gets up and he looks around verse 15 Says when the servant of the man of God Rose early in the morning and went out
01:08:32: Behold an army With horses and chariots was all Around the city and the servant
01:08:37: Said alas my master what Shall we do I mean I could get dramatic On you here right oh
01:08:42: It was me you know and he all He can see is we're done for But Elisha's Calm don't worry
01:08:51: About this and you know why is That Elisha says don't Be afraid for those who are
01:08:57: With us are more Than those who are with them Thank you can you imagine the
01:09:03: Servant he doesn't see that All he sees is death is coming Man this is this is a good day to Die you know and he's
01:09:11: Worried and I don't know about You but I've had days like that You know you look around and you got problems
01:09:17: The bills are mounting maybe you've got Health problems You know I was blessed to have a heart attack
01:09:23: Two years ago it was a wonderful thing You know I was Working hard we had a little farm going
01:09:29: And I felt like the Lord was really Calling me back to teach the Bible More often and You know what could
01:09:37: I do I needed to pay my bills so he gave me a heart attack Farm is hard Work that was done man right there on the
01:09:43: Spot but I could see God's Hand in it I'm here
01:09:48: Today aren't I you know God's Given me the honor and the blessing to Go and teach his word and encourage
01:09:54: His saints that would be you The saints Don't be afraid
01:10:00: Of them for those who are With us are more than those Who are with them so Elisha then prays and it's
01:10:08: Interesting when you look at verse 17 At his prayer he doesn't pray To remove this looming
01:10:15: Danger but that God would Open the servant's eyes Verse 17 then Elisha prayed and said
01:10:21: Oh Lord please open His eyes that he May see so the
01:10:26: Lord Opened the eyes of the young man and he saw And behold the mountain was full of horses And chariots of fire all
01:10:33: Around Elisha and when The Syrians came down against him Elisha Prayed the Lord and said please strike
01:10:39: These this people with blindness So he struck them with blindness In accordance with the prayer of Elisha And Elisha said to them this is not the
01:10:47: Way and this is not the city Follow me and I will bring you to the man Whom you seek and he led them
01:10:53: To Samaria He doesn't pray initially for the Danger to be taken away he just Prays that his man his servant
01:11:01: Would see with the eyes Of God and Friends when trouble comes
01:11:07: You know the first thing we want to say is Oh why me you know I'm a child of God Why should I suffer blah blah blah
01:11:13: Well why shouldn't you suffer Everybody suffers But God If we can see
01:11:20: His plan It's not just destruction That wants to come and ruin your life There's also chariots of fire
01:11:27: Surrounding all that and And it's amazing to me when you read the Bible You know God can make seeing
01:11:33: Eyes blind as well as He can make blind eyes see Do you trust the
01:11:38: Lord You know rather than Why me how about hey Lord What are you up to I told this the last
01:11:47: Time I was here in the last message And you know I was bit By a tick I got two rare blood
01:11:52: Diseases from it I didn't know I was Bit by a tick nobody knew I had two Nurses take blood out of me three days
01:11:58: Apart and each one of those Nurses said to me sir I've never taken this much blood out of Anybody to test the blood
01:12:06: So they were testing me for everything Right and You know
01:12:13: They didn't know what to do at one point I was laying on the gurney the second Time I was in a pair of short pants it was
01:12:20: Summer and I had spots all over me And I said to the doctor I said look at that Doc on top of everything else now
01:12:26: I got The measles he said sir that's Not the measles it's petechia Your blood vessels are breaking down You are literally dying in front of us
01:12:34: What do I know How many of you have died and come back I only know one person that ever did that So they said
01:12:41: I was dying And they fixed me up They put me in ICU for six days And right now you're thinking
01:12:47: There's nothing more boring than an old man Talking about his health But there is a point to it
01:12:54: My wife comes in Drags me out of bed and says come to the Window well down In the parking lot there are about 30 people
01:13:01: From our church and she said look at Them all they're all praying for you people All around the world are praying for you this
01:13:07: Is great I said tell them to stop She said what I said tell them to stop
01:13:12: I'm this close To heaven I'm almost there She said get back in bed you are the Most selfish person
01:13:18: I've ever met And she was Right But Elisha's calm because He knows that the angels are
01:13:27: Watching waiting and protecting And I would say that to you As well trust the lord
01:13:33: He's got a plan it may not be nice You know what is it weeping Comes at night but joy comes in the
01:13:39: Morning so let him open Your spiritual eyes And this did happen
01:13:46: By the way if you're sitting there thinking Oh that's just a made up fairy tale It's not That happened there were
01:13:53: Angels that Galini saw I didn't but he did He had spiritual eyes
01:13:59: You know G. Campbell Morgan Wrote about this passage he said Faith is never the imaging
01:14:04: The imagining of unreal things It is the grip of things which cannot be Demonstrated to the senses
01:14:10: But which are real the chariots Of horses and fire Were actually there

01:15:09: And when he finds it When he has found it he lays it on his Shoulders rejoicing and when
01:15:14: He comes home he calls together His friends and his neighbors Saying to them rejoice with me
01:15:20: For I have found my sheep That was lost just so I tell you there will be more
01:15:26: Joy in heaven over one sinner Who repents than over 99 Righteous persons who need
01:15:32: No repentance or what Woman having 10 silver coins If she loses one coin
01:15:38: Does not light a lamp and sweep The house and seek diligently Until she finds it and when
01:15:44: She has found it she calls together Her friends and neighbors saying Rejoice with me for I Have found the coin that I had lost
01:15:52: Just so I tell You there is joy before the Angels of God over one
01:15:58: Sinner who repents so There you have it God rejoices Over you the angels rejoice over you
01:16:04: There's a party going on in heaven When you when a person Gives their heart to the
01:16:10: Lord and That's a wonderful thing Question arises have you given your heart to Jesus have you
01:16:18: Made God rejoice All it Takes is a simple yes Lord Yes Let's move on a third thing
01:16:28: Zephaniah tells us He will quiet you by His love now this
01:16:33: Refers to our tendency as humans To worry and you know I Worry from time to time you worry
01:16:39: We all worry however God is in our midst and he's Telling us we don't need to worry
01:16:45: We don't need to be anxious about anything Jesus taught that in Matthew 6 verse 31 through 34 saying this therefore
01:16:54: Do not be anxious Saying what shall we eat or what Shall we drink or what shall we wear
01:16:59: How's my you know My pension looking these days Oh he says
01:17:08: For the Gentiles seek after all these Things and your heavenly father knows That you need them all But seek first the kingdom of God And his righteousness and All these things will be added
01:17:20: Unto you God's love will guide us to quiet Places so our
01:17:26: Heart can be at rest so that we can Be calm you know he Takes away those burdens and those
01:17:31: Stresses he he tells us over And over I am with you I tell you again today he
01:17:38: Is with you He's in your midst A fourth thing here
01:17:44: About his character he will exalt Over you with loud singing Now I never thought much about the
01:17:50: Lord singing I wonder what kind of music He likes and I hope it's not rap Because I'm frankly
01:17:55: I'm just not into it Okay But the Lord's singing He sings why
01:18:02: Because you his children You give him great joy If you're a parent you know exactly
01:18:08: What I'm saying when your kids do the right Thing you know they might like help You with the dishes or something

01:18:43: Give you the best life you could ever have How do you have that Read the word of God and obey the word of God Read and heed

01:19:53: There was no going back There's a guy Named Sun Tzu who wrote the book
01:19:59: The Art of War He taught armies to burn their boats And destroy the bridges behind them
01:20:05: As they advanced into new territory He argued that soldiers Without the option of taking flight
01:20:10: Are more likely to prevail Over their objective If you know the history
01:20:17: Of America you know in 1519 A fellow named Cortez A Spanish guy brought a bunch of troops
01:20:23: Into Mexico You know as soon as all the troops And horses were off the boat you know what he said

01:20:34: With their what they were up to But the principle Remains relevant for today

01:22:49: Of these people never heard the gospel Now what happens if you don't Hear the gospel and give your heart to The Lord You go to hell
01:22:58: It sounds rather frank but that's the deal I didn't write it he did There's one way to heaven and that's by Giving your heart to Jesus Christ The son of God Who shed his blood on that cross
01:23:11: That your sins were paid for My sins that's a wonderful thing But they're not hearing it they don't have a chance
01:23:17: There's no Christian radio Or anything like that over in that Part of the world So it's also
01:23:24: Home to Islam Hinduism, Buddhism Non -religious
01:23:30: People like communist China All that And an awful lot of poor people
01:23:36: Over there I found out in my travels that if you have a pair Of shoes you're doing pretty good

01:23:50: Everybody else gets flip flops I don't want to live In a world of flip flops
01:23:55: I want to have shoes So there's something else you can do Give up some of your money
01:24:02: To help poor people Make life a little better Teach them I was going to move into that garbage slum
01:24:09: Back in Cairo with my kids We had two kids at the time Had a third born there And a friend of mine said
01:24:16: Look if you move into this place Maybe your kids are going to die He said God didn't call your kids
01:24:21: He called you He said why don't you get a half decent apartment in the city And invite the young men out there
01:24:28: That they can see another way of living life And that made a lot of sense to me Bring them into your home
01:24:35: Muslim guys Are allowed to have four wives They can have a wife for the night if they want Bring them into your home
01:24:42: If you've got a Muslim you work with Show them how much you love your wife How much you respect her They don't know what that's all about Anyway it's all happening there

01:25:57: And she said Wear this and it has scriptures From the Quran around it And she said if you wear this
01:26:02: The jinn won't Knock you down anymore I said how's that going for you son
01:26:08: He said well they still keep knocking me down I said well There's somebody that's a lot more powerful
01:26:14: Than the jinn, his name is Jesus And I talked to him about having Jesus in his heart How God watches over us
01:26:21: And how he protects us from evil spirits Like the jinn And you know maybe a half hour 45 minutes

01:28:43: An international ministry here in New Jersey You probably aren't getting any cookies Your picture probably won't be on a bulletin board
01:28:51: But it was never about cookies and bulletin boards anyway Was it? It's about sharing that love that you so appreciate
01:28:56: With someone that doesn't have it People ask me Why I go to Iraq And they say oh it's so dangerous
01:29:05: I always say what are you talking about I'm leaving a dangerous place Oh you didn't like that How many people have been murdered
01:29:14: In Los Angeles, Chicago, New York City In the last six months When I go to the
01:29:20: Middle East I don't face that I actually feel safer in the Middle East Most of the time
01:29:27: But I go And they say well why do you go I say I don't know But the Lord put this love in our heart
01:29:34: For persecuted Christians And people that don't have a chance to hear the gospel Like Muslims And we feel called to go bless them
01:29:43: Why do you go Why do I ever go to Iraq I was sitting in Bahrain Very comfortable there being a pastor
01:29:49: But one day I was on my computer Looking at the news You heard of the gang ISIS Came down out of Syria Went into Iraq And they were going to take over Iraq And set up a new caliphate
01:29:59: And they were killing people left and right Doing terrible things Children who listen to western music
01:30:08: All kind of nasty stuff And I'm looking at this stuff I wish I didn't see it I saw things
01:30:13: I will not repeat But I was crying And then I prayed and I said Lord somebody ought to do something
01:30:20: And that still small voice came back And said well you're somebody I was kind of expecting the
01:30:26: Marine Corps Or the Green Beret You know come on Lord Send them in there No you're a somebody
01:30:33: Well before I knew it I was on a plane And I was going into Iraq And there
01:30:38: I had a friend That had lived up there for a while And together we were able to give out Shoes and bibles
01:30:45: And food and some money To help these folks And the stories they told me
01:30:50: Made me cry every day I had never heard of such wicked I'm a Vietnam veteran let me tell you that I had never in my life ever heard
01:30:58: So much wickedness done by people To other people than what ISIS did Wickedness is out there
01:31:04: But you're a somebody If you take that To heart
01:31:11: Could it possibly prompt you To become friends with somebody That doesn't look like you
01:31:17: Maybe doesn't live in your neighborhood Maybe doesn't worship the way you do Maybe it's just a little bit different And be their friend
01:31:25: I You know I'm talking about evangelism But I don't like that word To me sharing the good news
01:31:33: Is simply making friends I can't save anybody neither can you That's already been done on the cross
01:31:38: But people need to hear about that opportunity How are they going to hear about it You become their friend
01:31:43: And before you know it you'll be chatting away And you know what happens
01:31:48: When you meet somebody and get to know them Don't you tell them about your other friends One of my best friends is named
01:31:56: Jesus That's all it is It's just making friends Somebody ought to do something
