Welcome to the Rapid Bull, daily edition, where we provide a quick biblical interpretations and applications.
00:12
This is a ministry of striving for eternity. You know, this week we want to deal with something that many people need to understand when interpreting the
00:21
Bible. There's really two ways to interpret the Bible, and many people do it incorrectly.
00:28
You are either going to interpret the Bible by presuppositions or by principles.
00:35
It's going to be one of those two things. Many people interpret the Bible by their presuppositions.
00:40
What are those presuppositions? Well, those can include things like you read the Bible and it seems to agree with your experience, something that you have wanted to believe, and you say, well, see, that must mean it's true.
00:54
Another way that people go by presuppositions is they come to the Bible with a theological system in mind and will take passages of scriptures to fit a theological system.
01:07
You'll see this with almost any cult. They're going to have to do that because they bring their theological system into an understanding of the scriptures.
01:16
This is a major issue. The way to interpret the Bible is always by following the principles of harmonics.
01:23
What is harmonics? Harmonics is the science of interpretation. So it is those principles that we use to better understand a way to interpret.
01:35
In other words, we interpret by things like immediate context and stuff like that. We're going to get into that in more detail.
