Survival Food Kit and the Question of Prepping

We're going to see if this is any good. We're going to taste the breakfast, lunch, and dinner, what's in this package.

I'm going to find out what's good and what's not. What's your initial prediction? I had some survival food that was dehydrated years ago, and it was okay. It was like sausage and chicken and stuff like that.

So I'm 50 -50 on whether or not it's going to be any good. First things first is we're going to.

Actually open this thing up. All right, so let's see what is in the bag.

Okay, the bag is full of other bags. We have, ooh, creamy rice and vegetable dinner.

We got Grammy's sweet oatmeal. I'm guessing that's breakfast.

Okay, so Grammy's sweet oatmeal. That's all, okay, there's three packs in this 72-hour survival food kit, delicious meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It's 72 hours, but it's only three packages.

One's breakfast, one's lunch, and one's dinner. I have a curious, are you supposed to like, because 72 hours is three days. That is correct. I guess you got to ration it out.

So what I'm thinking is what happens here is you make the whole thing, and then you ration from there for the next 72 hours. Okay, so that's what, and so this is one person.

It's got to be one person. It's one person for three days, but you're going to be eating the same oatmeal, mac and cheese, and creamy rice and vegetables, you know what I don't see? Dude, I didn't make the kit.

I just. I mean, again, there's no, I would have thought, you know, something in here would have had. Here's the thing.

It's called four patriots. If there ain't no meat, like canned meat somewhere, they're going to go kill some meat. All right. So don't worry. So what we're going to do now is we're going to go cook all this up and get it ready to go.

So the next shot you'll see, we'll have it out here and prepped, and we're going to try it, and we'll see what we got.

Breakfast: Grammy's Sweet Oatmeal

Okay. So we have, we have done all the cooking. It took about 30 minutes to do all the prep. Some of it took 20 minutes to cook. Some of it took only a couple of minutes to cook. So I think we should do this in order of how we would eat it in life.

Cause breakfast is the first meal of the day. Breakfast. We have, what did it say? Grandma's.

Grandma's oatmeal or something like that. It sounds like it's got some maple syrup in it. Sweet oatmeal. Sweet oatmeal. I'm just going to dip some up for the camera to see. Okay. Of my own. All right.

So there you go. This is oatmeal. And, uh. I'll eat mine out of the bowl. How about that? There you go. Here we go. All right. Three, two, one. Hot. Yes. Yeah. That's the last thing we cooked was oatmeal.

It smells like a McGriddle from McDonald's. You get a McGriddle, it's got a heavy syrup smell, sweet smell, but you don't taste a lot. It's just bland. It's not bad.

It's not. I mean, if I had to eat it, I could eat it. Yeah. I mean, if I was surviving, again, it says survival food. Right. So, I mean. And there's more in there, right? Like there, like this was a bigger amount.

Right. There's a whole pot of this. So. Three days worth of food. This is three days worth of food. Now.

Macaroni and Cheese as the Lunch Meal

This is a pretty big one. This is almost all the macaroni. There's a little bit of macaroni left. This is all the dinner. So you got to splice that up three ways. So, it seems like the idea is, eat a big breakfast, eat a middle of the road lunch, light on the dinner.

Because I think the mac and cheese is the lunch, the lunch entree. You think macaroni and cheese is lunch? I think that's lunch, because there's more of it. Well, here, give me some. So let's give it a shot.

Three, two, one. Again, you know, I ain't going to pay for this at a restaurant. It's not bad.

I could eat it. Now, let's say I came to your house, and you were having dinner, and you served me this and called it macaroni and cheese. I probably wouldn't say anything. Like, it would probably be enough macaroni and cheese-like that it's not, it wouldn't cause suspicion.

It would just make me think you bought cheap mac and cheese.

You know, when you have a church potluck, and there's always that one dish of mac and cheese that's just dry, and just, it's barely mac and cheese? This is that. This is that one lady in your church that can't cook.

She doesn't deserve to be a Baptist. Now, that I'm interested to see if it's worth a dern. So this is Oh, that's all right.

He said dern. One per episode, at least once, Rich has to say dern.

I don't even realize I'm doing it. All right. So this is the creamy rice and vegetable dinner. It looks like goo, but we'll see. It smells like rice and roni. Ready? That ain't bad. That's good. I know, that's good.

I like that. That's actually not bad. And this is the one that's got the least amount of. I could eat that whole bowl. Yeah, yeah. This is, now, that's good food.

That is good. Now, I said earlier, there's no meat. Right. This would, this is hearty. Right. I could eat all of that. That I like. Four Patriots 72 hour survival food kit. Delicious meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Breakfast in this pouch had supposedly three days worth of Oatmeal. Oatmeal. It was good. It was, you know. A little salt, a little pepper, you'd be all right. Yep. Macaroni and cheese, a little dry, but it tastes like macaroni and cheese.

It doesn't taste like sand or something. It's a little dry. It's like, you know, like you said, the one thing at the potluck, the lady can't cook. It's okay. You have to do it. But this stuff, this is the winner.

I mean, if this was a contest, this is That would definitely win. I'm gonna sit and eat this while we do the podcast. I would say taste, I give it an overall seven. I can agree with that. Okay. Six or seven, yeah.

Easy to prepare, I'd say also maybe an eight. Cause really it's just boil water and pour it in.

Right, it's measure out water and boil it and mix it and cook it for 20 minutes.

I mean, that's the easy And amount, I give it a four.

Well, we're also judging it by American food

What we normally

A plate of food used to be yay big and that was all you needed. And people went all day on that. And now we've just grown it to where it's these massive, you want a steak, you want the whole left side of the cow.

I just got a carrot. I got a big carrot.

He got something he didn't like, ladies and gentlemen. No, no, the carrot was fine. It just was big.

That was a replacement for the meat. So, I mean, if you're in a serious crisis situation, this will work. Now oatmeal.

It's hot. It's hot, okay. All right, now try the rice and vegetables. You like that? I like three of them. All three of them. You want to try each of these? Tell us how you like them. No. Come on. All right, right here.

Try the macaroni and cheese. Macaroni and cheese first. Good? Is it good? Is it really good? Yeah. Is it like normal? Yeah. How about the second one? That's oatmeal. Give that a shot. I don't like it.

It's a little bad. Okay, it's all right. You survived. All right, now this is really good. This is rice and vegetables. Try it. No. No. No, I hate that.
