Pope Francis declared that, quote, God loves us just the way we are while responding to a question from a transgender youth, the

Vatican media confirmed on Tuesday. The Pope made the comment in a podcast in which he heard and replied to messages from Catholic youth ahead of a festival in Portugal.

Okay, so one question came from a young Italian person named Gianna. So I think

I'm pronouncing the name correctly. Gianna, who identified as someone in their 20s, it doesn't say male or female.

This person, this young person was, quote, torn by the dichotomy between their faith and their transgender identity.

But the Pope says, this is how the Pope responded. Okay, you're conflicted, your faith and being trans.

The Pope told this young person, the Lord always walks with us.

Even if we are sinners, he draws near to help us, Francis said.

The Lord, and you might think, well, that's okay, right? Well, here's the part that's getting all the attention.

The Pope told this transgender youth, the Lord loves us just the way we are.

This is God's crazy love. So that phrase, crazy love, that's a term coined by Francis Chan.

Francis Chan got popular with his book, which was titled Crazy Love. And Francis Chan, incidentally, did meet with the

Pope a few years ago. Chan, the Pope, and some Christian contemporary music artists held secret meetings that really didn't get much attention.

But you have to wonder, what were they talking about? Well, here's what a lot of people don't know. This is what

Rome does. They try to win people over to their side so they can spread their message.

The Pope, let's say the Pope decides on a position. The Catholic Church comes up with this plan. And what they will try to do is they'll try to get

Protestants and evangelicals, usually behind closed doors, fly them to Rome. And the

Pope is a world leader. He's not just a religious figure, he's a political ruler as well.

He's one of the most famous men on Earth. So when the Pope invites you to Rome, people typically go. So they will hold these meetings behind closed doors so the

Pope will get these evangelicals and Protestants on board with their agenda. That way they can go back and spread that message within the

Protestant evangelical world. You say, I don't know about that. Well, there's no better example of that than Billy Graham.

Billy Graham also flew to Rome to meet with the Pope. Billy Graham said that the Pope was the greatest spiritual leader of the 20th century.

And then the next thing you knew, Graham was on the Robert Shuler program teaching Catholic doctrine, saying that all religions can get you to God, which is a post -Vatican

II teaching of the Catholic Church. I mean, that's not what the Catholic Church believed before the 1960s, but it's what they believe, or what they say they believe now.

But anyways, back to the issue at hand, this article. The Pope says that God's love is crazy.

God has crazy love. So the Pope seems to be quoting

Francis Chan, which is interesting. Here's the thing about that crazy love, that's not a biblical phrase.

It's sort of like that song, Reckless Love. Well, God's love is not crazy or demented, nor is, because that's a synonym for crazy, demented.

God's love is not crazy, nor is God's love reckless. So these statements are highly questionable at best, and outright wrong, sinful, blasphemous at worst, because what is the

Pope really trying to say? Well, I think we know what he's trying to say. He's telling a transgender person,

God loves you just the way you are. Now this statement, on the one hand, you could say there's some truth to it, right?

John 3 .16, Romans 5 .8, God demonstrates his own love toward us, that while we were yet sinners,

Christ died for us. There is a sense where that's true, that God loves sinners just the way they are.

But here's the thing, he doesn't want us to stay just the way we are. He wants us to repent and change.

So when you tell, or when the Pope tells a transgender person, hey, God loves you just the way you are, what do you think he hears?

What do you think most people hear? Yeah, that's what the Pope is trying to do. By saying that, in essence, the

Pope is affirming this person and their, quote unquote, transgender lifestyle.

But he still has an out, saying, well, if he had to, he could say, well, I meant the way they were originally.

But we all know that's not what he means, and that's not the way the world is going to take it.

Which is why the Pope said it, because he has determined he wants to be a friend of the world.

What did Jesus say concerning this issue? Matthew 19, Jesus said at the beginning, God made them male and female.

So whatever gender this person was born, that is how God made them.

And that is how God loved them. That is what this person needed to hear.

But this is what the devil does. He wants to turn everything upside down and call evil good and good evil.

The fact is, it is not loving. You say, well, the Pope is so loving. It is not loving to affirm people in their sin.

We have all fallen short of the glory of God, and that is you, and that is me. And when people affirm us, and just, hey, keep doing what you're doing.

God is okay with it. God loves you just the way you are. Don't worry about it. That is not a loving thing to do.

The loving thing to do is to preach the gospel to people, that Jesus died for sin, because Jesus died for sin.
