00:08
Judges 4 Then the sons of Israel again did what was evil in the eyes of Yahweh.
00:15
Now Ehud had died. And Yahweh sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, who reigned in Hazor.
00:22
And the commander of his army was Sisera, who lived in Herosheth, Hagoyim. Then the sons of Israel cried to Yahweh, for he had nine hundred iron chariots, and he oppressed the sons of Israel severely for twenty years.
00:36
Now Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lappidoth, was judging Israel at that time.
00:42
And she used to sit under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in the hill country of Ephraim.
00:48
And the sons of Israel came up to her for judgment. Then she sent and summoned Barak, the son of Abinoam, from Kadesh Naphtali, and said to him,
00:58
Has not Yahweh, the God of Israel, commanded, Go and march to Mount Tabor, and take with you ten thousand men from the sons of Naphtali and from the sons of Zebulun.
01:08
And I will draw out to you Sisera, the commander of Jabin's army, with his chariots and his many troops to the river
01:14
Kishan, and I will give him into your hand. Then Barak said to her, If you will go with me, then
01:21
I will go. But if you will not go with me, I will not go. So she said,
01:26
I will surely go with you. Nevertheless, the honor shall not be yours on the journey that you are about to take, for Yahweh will sell
01:35
Sisera into the hand of a woman. Then Deborah arose and went with Barak to Kadesh.
01:41
Then Barak called Zebulun and Naphtali together to Kadesh, and ten thousand men went up with him.
01:47
Deborah also went up with him. Now Haber the Kenite had separated himself from the
01:52
Kenites, from the sons of Hobab, the father -in -law of Moses, and had pitched his tent as far away as the oak in Zananim, which is near Kadesh.
02:02
Then they told Sisera that Barak, the son of Abinoam, had gone up to Mount Tabor. So Sisera called together all his chariots, nine hundred chariots, and all the people who were with him, from Herosheth Hagoyim to the river
02:15
Kishan. And Deborah said to Barak, Arise! For this is the day in which
02:21
Yahweh has given Sisera into your hand. Has not Yahweh gone out before you? So Barak went down from Mount Tabor with ten thousand men following him.
02:31
And Yahweh threw Sisera and all his chariots and all his camp into confusion with the edge of the sword before Barak.
02:37
And Sisera came down from his chariot and fled away on foot. But Barak pursued the chariots and all those in the camp as far as Herosheth Hagoyim.
02:47
And all the camp of Sisera fell by the edge of the sword, not even one remained. Now Sisera fled away on foot to the tent of Jael, the wife of Heber the
02:57
Kenite. For there was peace between Jabin the king of Hazor and the house of Heber the Kenite.
03:03
And Jael went out to meet Sisera and said to him, Turn aside, my master, turn aside to me.
03:09
Do not be afraid. And he turned aside to her into the tent, and she covered him with a rug.
03:16
Then he said to her, Please give me a little water to drink, for I am thirsty. So she opened a bottle of milk and gave him a drink, then she covered him.
03:25
And he said to her, Stand in the doorway of the tent, and it shall be, if anyone comes and asks of you and says,
03:32
Is there a man here, that you shall say no. Then Jael, Heber's wife, took a tent peg and placed a hammer in her hand, and went secretly to him and drove the peg into his temple, and it went through into the ground, for he was sound asleep and exhausted.
03:49
So he died. Now behold, Barak was pursuing Sisera. And Jael came out to meet him and said to him,
03:57
Come, and I will show you the man whom you are seeking. And he entered with her, and behold,
04:02
Sisera was lying dead with the tent peg in his temple. So God subdued on that day
04:08
Jabin the king of Canaan before the sons of Israel. And the hand of the sons of Israel went forth heavier and heavier against Jabin the king of Canaan, until they had cut off Jabin the king of Canaan.
04:24
Acts 8 Now Saul was in hearty agreement with putting him to death. And on that day a great persecution began against the church in Jerusalem.
04:33
And they were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles. And some devout men buried
04:41
Stephen and made loud lamentation over him. But Saul began ravaging the church, entering house after house, and dragging off men and women.
04:50
He was delivering them into prison. Therefore those who had been scattered went about, proclaiming the good news of the word.
04:58
Now Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and began preaching Christ to them. And the crowds with one accord were giving attention to what was being said by Philip, as they heard and saw the signs which he was doing.
05:10
For in the case of many who had unclean spirits, they were coming out of them, shouting with a loud voice.
05:17
And many who had been paralyzed and lame were healed. So there was great joy in that city.
05:23
Now there was a man named Simon, who formerly was practicing magic in the city, and astounding the people of Samaria, claiming to be someone great.
05:32
And they all, from smallest to greatest, were giving attention to him, saying, This man is what is called the great power of God.
05:40
And they were giving him attention, because he had for a long time astounded them with his magic arts.
05:46
But when they believed Philip, proclaiming the good news about the kingdom of God, in the name Jesus Christ, they were being baptized, both men and women.
05:55
Even Simon himself believed. And after being baptized, he continued on with Philip.
06:01
And as he observed signs and great miracles taking place, he was constantly astounded.
06:07
Now when the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent them
06:13
Peter and John, who came down and prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit. For he had not yet fallen upon any of them.
06:21
They had simply been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then they began laying their hands on them, and they were receiving the
06:28
Holy Spirit. Now when Simon saw that the Spirit had been bestowed through the laying on of the apostles' hands, he offered them money, saying,
06:37
Give this authority to me as well, so that everyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the
06:43
Holy Spirit. But Peter said to him, May your silver perish with you, because you suppose you could obtain the gift of God with money.
06:52
You have no part or portion in this matter, for your heart is not right before God. Therefore repent of this wickedness of yours, and pray earnestly to the
07:02
Lord, that, if possible, the intention of your heart may be forgiven you. For I see that you are in the gall of bitterness and in the bondage of unrighteousness.
07:13
But Simon answered and said, Pray earnestly to the Lord for me yourselves, so that nothing of what you have said may come upon me.
07:21
So when they had solemnly borne witness and spoken the word of the Lord, they started back to Jerusalem, and were proclaiming the gospel to many villages of the
07:30
Samaritans. But an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip, saying, Rise up, and go south to the road that descends from Jerusalem to Gaza.
07:39
This is a desert road. So he rose up and went, and, behold, there was an Ethiopian eunuch, a court official of Candace, queen of the
07:47
Ethiopians, who was in charge of all her treasure. And he had come to Jerusalem to worship.
07:53
And he was returning and sitting in his chariot and was reading the prophet Isaiah. Then the spirit said to Philip, Go over and join this chariot.
08:02
And Philip ran up and heard him reading Isaiah the prophet, and said, Do you understand what you are reading?
08:08
And he said, Well, how could I, unless someone guides me? And he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.
08:15
Now the passage of Scripture which he was reading was this, As a sheep is led to slaughter, and as a lamb before its shearer is silent, so he does not open his mouth.
08:26
In humiliation his judgment was taken away. Who will recount his generation? For his life is removed from the earth.
08:34
And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I ask you earnestly, of whom does the prophet say this, of himself or of someone else?
08:43
Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning from this Scripture he proclaimed the good news about Jesus to him.
08:48
And as they went along the road they came to some water. And the eunuch said, Look, water, what prevents me from being baptized?
08:57
And Philip said, If you believe with all your heart, you may. And he answered and said,
09:03
I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. And he ordered the chariot to stop, and they both went down into the water,
09:10
Philip as well as the eunuch, and he baptized him. When they came up out of the water, the
09:16
Spirit of the Lord snatched Philip away, and the eunuch no longer saw him, but went on his way rejoicing.
09:22
But Philip found himself at Azotus, and as he passed through he kept proclaiming the gospel to all the cities, until he came to Caesarea.
09:35
Jeremiah 17 The sin of Judah is written down with an iron stylus.
09:40
With a diamond point it is engraved upon the tablet of their heart and on the horns of their altars.
09:46
As they remember their children, so they remember their altars and their ashram. By green trees on the high hills.
09:54
O mountain of mine in the countryside, I will give over your wealth and all your treasures for plunder, your high places for sin throughout your borders.
10:03
And you will, even of yourself, let go of your inheritance that I gave you. And I will make you serve your enemies in the land which you do not know.
10:12
For you have kindled a fire in my anger which will burn forever. Thus says Yahweh, Cursed is the man who trusts in mankind and makes flesh his strength, and whose heart turns away from Yahweh.
10:25
And he will be like a juniper in the desert, and will not see when prosperity comes, but will dwell in stony wastes in the wilderness, a land of salt which is not inhabited.
10:37
Blessed is the man who trusts in Yahweh, and whose trust is Yahweh. And he will be like a tree planted by the water, that sends forth its roots by a stream, and will not fear when the heat comes, but its leaves will be green, and it will not be anxious in a year of drought, nor refrain from yielding fruit.
10:57
The heart is more deceitful than all else, and is desperately sick. Who can know it?
11:03
I, Yahweh, search the heart, I test the inmost being, even to give to each man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.
11:12
As a partridge that hatches eggs which it has not laid, so is he who makes a fortune, but unjustly.
11:19
In the midst of his days it will forsake him, and in the end he will be a wicked fool. A glorious throne on high from the beginning is the place of our sanctuary.
11:29
O Yahweh, the hope of Israel, all who forsake you will be put to shame. Those who turn away on earth will be written down, because they have forsaken the fountain of living water, even
11:40
Yahweh. Heal me, O Yahweh, and I will be healed. Save me, and I will be saved, for you are my praise.
11:49
Behold, they keep saying to me, Where is the word of Yahweh? Let it come now. But as for me,
11:55
I have not hurried away for being a shepherd after you, nor have I longed for the sickening day.
12:01
You yourself know that the utterance of my lips was in your presence. Do not be a terror to me.
12:08
You are my refuge in the day of calamity. Let those who pursue me be put to shame, but as for me, let me not be put to shame.
12:17
Let them be dismayed, but let me not be dismayed. Bring on them a day of calamity, and crush them with twofold crushing.
12:25
Thus Yahweh said to me, Go and stand in the public gate, through which the kings of Judah come in and go out, as well as in all the gates of Jerusalem.
12:35
And say to them, Listen to the word of Yahweh, kings of Judah, and all Judah, and all inhabitants of Jerusalem, who come in through these gates.
12:44
Thus says Yahweh, Take care of yourselves, and do not carry any load on the Sabbath day, or bring anything in through the gates of Jerusalem.
12:52
You shall not bring a load out of your houses on the Sabbath day, nor do any work, but keep the
12:58
Sabbath day holy, as I commanded your fathers. Yet they did not listen or incline their ears, but stiffened their necks in order not to listen or receive discipline.
13:09
But it will be, if you listen carefully to me, declares Yahweh, to bring no load in through the gates of this city on the
13:16
Sabbath day, but to keep the Sabbath day holy by doing no work on it. Then there will come in through the gates of this city kings and princes sitting on the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, they and their princes, the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and this city will be inhabited forever.
13:36
And they will come in from the cities of Judah and from all around Jerusalem, from the land of Benjamin, from the
13:42
Shephelah, from the hill country, and from the Negev, bringing burnt offerings, sacrifices, grain offerings, and frankincense, and bringing sacrifices of thanksgiving to the house of Yahweh.
13:54
But if you do not listen to me to keep the Sabbath day holy by not carrying a load and coming in through the gates of Jerusalem on the
14:01
Sabbath day, then I will kindle a fire in its gates, and I will devour the palaces of Jerusalem and not be quenched.
14:12
Mark 3 And he entered again into a synagogue, and a man was there with a withered hand.
14:19
And they were watching him to see if he would heal him on the Sabbath, so that they might accuse him. And he said to the man with the withered hand,
14:26
Get up and come forward. And he said to them, Is it lawful to do good or to do harm on the
14:32
Sabbath, to save a life or to kill? But they kept silent. And after looking round at them with anger, grieved at their hardness of heart, he said to the man,
14:43
Stretch out your hand. And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored. And the
14:48
Pharisees went out, and immediately began taking counsel together with the Herodians against him, as to how they might destroy him.
14:55
And Jesus withdrew to the sea with his disciples, and a great multitude from Galilee followed, and from Judea, and from Jerusalem, and from Idumea, and beyond the
15:05
Jordan, in the vicinity of Tyre and Sidon, a great number of people heard of all that he was doing, and came to him.
15:12
And he told his disciples that a boat should stand ready for him because of the crowd, so that they would not crowd him.
15:18
For he had healed many, with the result that all those who had afflictions pressed around him in order to touch him.
15:25
And whenever the unclean spirits were seeing him, they would fall down before him and cry out, saying,
15:31
You are the Son of God. And he earnestly warned them not to tell who he was. And he went up on the mountain and summoned those whom he himself wanted, and they came to him.
15:41
And he appointed twelve, whom he also named apostles, to be with him and to send them out to preach, and to have authority to cast out the demons.
15:51
And he appointed the twelve, Simon, to whom he gave the name Peter, and James the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James, to them he gave the name
16:01
Boanerges, which means, Sons of Thunder, and Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddeus, and Simon the zealot, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.
16:16
And he came home, and the crowd gathered again, so that they would not even eat a meal. And when his own people heard this, they went out to take custody of him, for they were saying,
16:27
He has lost his senses. And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem were saying, He is possessed by Beelzebub, and he cast out demons by the ruler of the demons.
16:37
And he called them to himself, and began speaking to them in parables. How can Satan cast out
16:43
Satan? And if a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand.
16:53
And if Satan has risen up against himself and is divided, he cannot stand, but he is finished.
17:00
But no one can enter the strongman's house and plunder his property, unless he first binds the strongman, and then he will plunder his house.
17:09
Truly I say to you, all sins shall be forgiven the sons of men, in whatever blasphemies they utter.
17:16
But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin, because they were saying,
17:24
He has an unclean spirit. Then his mother and his brothers arrived, and standing outside they sent word to him, calling him.
17:32
And a crowd was sitting around him, and they said to him, Behold, your mother and your brothers are outside looking for you.
17:39
And answering them, he said, Who are my mother and my brothers? And looking about at those who were sitting around him, he said,
17:47
Behold, my mother and my brothers. For whoever does the will of God, he is my brother and sister and mother.
