Let's start recording and seeing if you can still do stuff. Oh, good. Yep, it still says you're screen sharing.
00:10
Okay, we're going to start Yes, please. For real this time. Okay, great. Well, a quick introduction.
00:16
First, I'm honored to be here and speaking with you guys. My name is Bill Morgan. I'm an engineer.
00:22
I've been one for 37 years And I was an atheist for many years. And I think my passion for creation is because I felt
00:30
I was lied to about something the most important thing in life. And so I have a passion to share creation.
00:37
And tonight's lesson, you probably won't learn too much new science wise but tips on sharing your faith with people because you can have all the knowledge in the world.
00:46
But if you're not sharing it It's not getting out there. So that's my goal. I do lots of street witnessing and evangelism and I can say with 100 % certainty.
00:57
Millions and millions and millions of people are eager for the gospel and the message of Christ.
01:03
And so hopefully this lesson will encourage you and it'll be interactive. I'll be asking questions.
01:09
So the goals of this lesson. To give a strategy, you can have all the knowledge in the world.
01:16
But if you don't have a strategy, you might be scared to share it. Hopefully this will give you guys some tips and sharing your faith with other people.
01:24
Now suppose you were assigned an engineering project. I was an engineer for many, many years. I still do consulting work and your boss said, hey, we need you to pour underneath some railroad tracks.
01:34
I'll just quiz you. I'll just quiz Carolyn. Carolyn, what would be a great way to start this project.
01:40
Very first thing you could do She's muted. Okay. Well, first I have to understand what the assignment is because frankly,
01:54
I'm not an engineer, you know, I don't understand what it means to bore under railroad tracks.
02:00
Okay. Well, I've gotten many, many projects where I didn't have the slightest idea how to do it.
02:07
But if my boss did tell me once I had the board and you some railroad tracks. So I looked up people who've been doing it for many, many years.
02:14
And I said, hey, how do I born underneath railroad tracks. Instead of starting at zero with something
02:19
I like to talk to someone who's done it for a long, long time and learn from them. So suppose you wanted to become a better witness, or what could you do
02:29
Learn from someone who has done it successfully. Why started zero learn from other people's mistakes when possible.
02:37
Amen. Learn from mistakes, but learn from other people. Now, who would be a great example for witnessing
02:45
Jesus right Jesus shares many, many great witnessing tips for us that we can use and hopefully you guys will use them as well.
02:54
Now, I'll quiz you. What do you think is the number one witnessing tip besides being filled with the
03:02
Holy Spirit, what's a What is a great way to Jeff.
03:09
Jeff, can you mute and take off your video Turn off video.
03:15
Yeah, and mute. Time mute. Okay, a great witnessing tip is you got to be kind, loving, and respectful.
03:26
Suppose you've got all the knowledge in the world and you're saying to someone you dummy you moron.
03:31
How could you be so they're not going to say I love this conversation. Because they get away from me. It might be hard at times, but we have to be kind, respectful and loving to witness the people first Corinthians 13 one if you speak with the tongues of men of an angels and do not have what
03:52
Love you're a noisy gone or a clanging symbol. So if Well, I said, that's me.
04:00
Okay, but you got to work on that that because we want to lead these people to Christ. We don't want to win a science argument.
04:07
Amen. And I believe creation is a fantastic foundation for saving relationship.
04:15
Now, I love this question I asked people that Jesus ever yelling scream at people, anybody
04:24
Yes. Yeah. When I go with this, you know, a lot of people might say, well, not a lot.
04:30
But, well, I'm not religious. I'm not into religion. There's a lot of hypocrites and religion and all that.
04:37
I'll say I got a Bible question. Did Jesus ever yell at people and they'll say, Oh, no, because they have this image of little
04:43
Jesus in the manger. I said, Jesus yelled and screamed at religious hypocrites people that were misusing the goodness of God for their profit.
04:54
He didn't like So I'll tell people, hey, you're just like Jesus. Neither one of you like religious hypocrites.
05:00
So anyway, it's not about religion. It's about truth. Amen. You're not in a religion, you're joining the truth of God and the gospel.
05:09
So witnessing tip number two. I love this tip. Ask questions.
05:15
Do not give a 30 minute speech to somebody, they're going to be begging to get out of there. Amen. And I've seen well meaning people do this when they witness they talk and they talk and they talk.
05:26
Let the other person be the focus of the conversation and you do that by asking questions.
05:33
Now, did Jesus have question. Yes. Discussion.
05:38
I'll take one answer. Why is asking questions, a great way to witness anybody
05:49
H is the other person. Right. It makes them the focus and it's so important and you get to know who you're talking to as well.
05:59
Amen. Your question. How many different questions that Jesus asked in the
06:06
New Testament. I'll take one guess. Oh.
06:14
Okay, I'll guess 40. Oh, I'm not gonna guess. Just kidding. This is also a fun
06:21
Bible study 135 different questions in different gospels, he would ask the same question, but the
06:28
Monday morning review that WordPress pounded 135 different questions.
06:35
Did he ever asked a question to learn No. He never.
06:42
Why would he ask questions, then So that the other people can learn And Amen.
06:48
It's a great teaching tool. So quick review. What was witnessing tip number one.
06:55
Be kind Be kind when witnessing number two. Ask questions.
07:00
Very good. Good. And witnessing is so easy. If you do that, you're not arguing with the person you're trying to get to know who they are and where they're at.
07:09
Very important after you ask a question, become a great listener right really pay attention to the person and they're going to enjoy being witnessed to Witnessing tip number three.
07:22
There's something that's very important for comedians. That's also important for witnessing I'll take one answer.
07:29
Who wants to shout out an answer. What do comedians really have to know
07:38
Their audience. Oh, Terry, right on. There. You got to know your audience.
07:45
You don't know who you're witnessing to They might need a creation with that they might not need a creation witness.
07:54
Amen. They might need a hope a love of peace type of witness.
08:01
And so if you just go out there and you start talking about biochemistry and genetics, they might not even know what you're talking about.
08:07
And that might not be what they need. Amen. Yeah. For me, I needed a science witness, because I truly thought
08:14
Christians were anti science and didn't know anything about it. So that's the witness I needed.
08:21
And the way to know your audience is how Ask questions. Amen. But doesn't that make sense.
08:26
We can't use the same witness to everybody. Yes. Because everybody might have a different spiritual need.
08:37
I have become all things to all men so that I might, by all means, save some so I love that Paul would talk to different people, depending on who they are.
08:48
So you guys like that. Yes. And again, not every person out there needs a creation witness, but many do.
08:56
And it's a great foundation for belief in God. Okay, just like playing a sport.
09:02
How do you get better Practice. Practice. If you want to be a better witness, or what do you have to do
09:15
With us. Practice. Okay, I want one volunteer who would like to who who here has played a sport.
09:22
I'll ask you some simple questions. I'll take the first volunteer. Not me.
09:31
Not me either. Any of you. Coach to sport. What's close enough.
09:38
What part was that Soccer for little kids. Okay, that's good. The first time those little kids played.
09:45
Were they great. No. Did they quit or did they come back again.
09:51
Um, most of them came back, but some of them quit. Oh, well, okay. And those who didn't quit.
09:57
Were they great. The second time. No, but I'll bet they were a little bit better. Right.
10:04
Most of them got better. Will they ever be perfect soccer players. No, no, but the more they come back and practice.
10:13
But for what The better they'll get I think a lot of Christians want to wait until they'll be perfect before they go out there and witness and if they're waiting for that they'll never go right
10:26
So, I had a guy once tell me, oh, I went witnessing once it went terrible.
10:33
Well, that's life. You go out there and you learn from your mistakes. Amen. Amen. Bill, there were also players who didn't care to learn from their mistakes and kept coming, but never improved.
10:49
That's just like all humankind. Right. Yeah, I bet there's a parallel there too. Oh, yeah, they're parallel in many ways.
10:58
Have any of you ever heard somebody saying, or have you guys ever said that, you know, if you talk to someone, then you go your separate ways and you say, oh,
11:07
I should have said this ever happened. Yes. All the time. Next time you might be ready to share that.
11:17
But that comes from practice. To encourage you guys, don't be discouraged. You're never going to be perfect.
11:24
But even if you just show that you care about the person. Is that a witness? Yes. So it's so important to show your faith.
11:33
You guys recognize that man? Ray Comfort. I love him.
11:39
I love his witnessing. He's got great videos. If you ever want to see good videos on YouTube, Ray Comfort. He says he drags his heel every time he goes witnessing that he's nervous and doesn't really want to go.
11:54
But every time he's dancing on his toes afterwards. So before Some of you might relate to this.
12:03
It's like, oh, I don't really want to go witnessing today. But afterwards, it's like, wow, I should do that every day.
12:09
Can anybody relate to that? No. But it's normal to not want to go necessarily talk yourself out of it.
12:19
But if you do go most of the time, you'll be incredibly blessed. So don't be nervous.
12:26
Go out there and show your faith. Okay, quick time. What is the theory of evolution?
12:36
Nonsense. Life started from non life and somehow it mysteriously became all of the complexity that we have now.
12:48
And that chance was involved. It's a chance combinations. Yes. Over an incredible amount of time that we can't even imagine.
12:58
Yes, it's not billions, billions of years. So starting at really basic.
13:05
What is the theory of evolution? To me, it is the opinion that you have bacteria ancestor.
13:15
You have a ancestor. Okay, the word evolution means change.
13:23
And that could mean different things to different people. You might be talking to someone and they think evolution means, hey, you can breed dogs.
13:33
Is it true that dogs can be bred? Yes. Absolutely.
13:39
And so they might be thinking, wow, this crazy creation person doesn't believe we can breed dogs.
13:45
So it's important to get the definition out. So Robin, I'm going to ask you to volunteer and ask me, what do
13:54
I think? And I'm going to give what I think is the best answer. So you got to pay attention.
14:00
Then I'm going to quiz three of you randomly with evolution and I encourage you to try my answer.
14:07
Okay, so I'll start with my answer. And then I'll randomly quiz three people in this chat.
14:14
Robin, could you ask me, Bill, what do you think about the theory of evolution? Okay, so Bill, what do you think of the theory of evolution?
14:24
No comment. No, just kidding. Okay, thank you very much. I believe, and this is how
14:30
I share my faith. And when I witness this is what I think. I believe apes make apes.
14:39
People make people. And ladybugs make what? Ladybugs.
14:46
And that's not religious. That's genetic. Okay, so apes make apes.
14:55
People make people. Ladybugs make ladybugs. That's not religious. That's what?
15:02
Genetic. Well, even more specifically, that's genetics. So everybody say genetics.
15:08
Okay. Now that many people who don't believe in God think all we're going on is the
15:14
Bible. And, and religious type teaching, but we can easily destroy them lovingly with science argument.
15:24
So I'm going to randomly call on three people. I'm going to ask you about the theory of evolution.
15:30
And I hope you say apes make apes, people make people. But then you got to come up with the third animal.
15:37
And I'm going to accuse you of being religious. And then you have to answer that. No, it's genetics.
15:43
Okay. So let's see. Joyce, are you there, Joyce? Yeah. Suppose someone came up to you tomorrow,
15:51
Joyce, and said, Are you a Christian? What would you say? Yes. And they're very polite and kind and they say,
15:57
Oh, that's interesting. Well, Joyce, what about evolution? How do you handle that? What could you say?
16:03
Apes make apes, people make people, and dragonflies make dragonflies.
16:09
Wow. Very good. Well, that's religious, isn't it, Joyce? Nope. No, it's genetics.
16:19
It's not religious. It's what, Joyce? Genetics. Amen. All right. Good round of applause for Joyce.
16:26
Biochemistry, everything else. Very, very good. Let's see. Robin, are you there,
16:32
Robin? Yes, I am. Okay. Robin, suppose someone tomorrow asked you,
16:39
Are you a Christian? What would you say? I am a follower of Christ. Amen. But what about evolution?
16:46
I bet that's a big problem for you, isn't it, if you're a Christian? No. No, actually, creation aligns with the
16:55
Bible and the Bible aligns with creation and it works out. Okay. Do you want to try my little answer?
17:01
Apes make apes. Oh, well, Joyce had an easier question. No, it was the same one.
17:08
It didn't seem like the same one. The answer is supposed to be the same. Oh, yes.
17:14
Okay. So, apes make apes, and hold on. People. People make people, and dogs make dogs.
17:23
Isn't that religious, though? No. No, actually, that's genetic. You got it.
17:29
Very good. And you can build your defense of the Gospel. Just yesterday, I did a
17:34
Zoom with fourth and fifth graders. Same thing, same lesson. Very good.
17:41
Okay. Terri, are you there, Terri? I am here, but the crows are being really loud and my dog's barking at them, so if it's too much.
17:52
You can use crows as your example. Okay. So, Terri, suppose someone asked you, are you a
17:59
Christian? What would you say? I am. But what about evolution? That must be a big problem for you.
18:07
Well, I'm pretty sure. No, I know for sure that apes make apes, and people make people, and crows make crows.
18:16
That's religious nonsense. How can you believe something like that, Terri? That's not religious. That's just genetics.
18:22
You got it. Very, very good. And a little fun trivia. Years ago, my daughter was about seven witnessing with me, and that's what she said.
18:30
Crows make crows to a high school student. But very good. You can use these arguments with a three -year -old or a
18:37
PhD. Amen? Because that's what we observe. Okay.
18:43
I'll tear through some slides here. Evolutionists believe that all life is related to each other.
18:49
There we are up at the top, humans. Looks like Darwin. If you're an evolutionist, you believe that you are related to apes.
18:59
If you're an evolutionist, you believe you are related to pine trees, because all life is related.
19:05
If you're related to pine trees, what did you do after Christmas this year? You threw out a relative, right?
19:14
And if you're an evolutionist, you believe you are related to bacteria. So if you wash your hands with antibacterial soap, what are you doing?
19:25
Killing your relatives. And I say with all humility and kindness, to believe you're related to bacteria is one of the dumbest, stupidest, anti -scientific beliefs you could possibly have.
19:39
So why do people believe it? Because the people who initiated this hated
19:45
God and had to come up with an alternative explanation of how we got here. And what's sad is a lot of Christians are buying in to a theory that is based on God -hating, but who are not related to bacteria.
20:01
Any comments on this? Okay, I will press on.
20:11
That's an electron microscope image of bacteria on the head of a pin. If you're an evolutionist, that should be in your family album, because those are all your relatives hanging out on the sharp end of a pin.
20:24
It's funny, but it's sad that people buy into this just to get around the existence of God. So very, very important.
20:33
Don't forget the theory of evolution teaches you have bacterium ancestors. Creation teaches you only have what?
20:41
Humans. And this is something you can easily share as you share your faith with anybody.
20:48
Your parents were human, your grandparents were human, your great -grandparents, etc., etc. And everything in science teaches humans can only make humans.
20:57
So, quick review. June, what about evolution?
21:03
What about evolution? Well, you're a Christian, so you must struggle with it, right? Oh, not at all.
21:12
What's your belief, June? I believe that apes make apes and people make people and spiders make spiders.
21:21
Oh, you're one of those religious fanatics, aren't you? No, that's genetics. You got it. Very, very good.
21:28
And share these simple facts with people, okay? When I was 14, my biology teacher put this on the wall and said we're related to ape men.
21:37
I believed it, because I love science. I believed my teacher, and I went from Christian to atheist, because my teacher taught me this.
21:45
And I knew the Bible said that humans were created instantly. For 12 years,
21:50
I was an atheist, and the main thing that got me out of being an atheist was realizing this.
21:56
What are you guys looking at when you look at this? A drawing.
22:02
Evolution. No, that's not evolution. Those are cartoon drawings, right?
22:08
This is huge. Very important. The theory of evolution has two things, drawings and stories.
22:17
They don't have evidence. They got a lot of drawings and a lot of stories. Well, Bill, that's meant by some people to be evolution, but we know it as a cartoon.
22:28
Right, right. But I thought I was looking at evolution when I saw that. I go, I see it, but those are drawings.
22:34
And that's how they should teach it. They should teach the facts to the students. Now, the schools teach this, but they don't teach this.
22:43
They don't tell you the details on the fossil. And if they did, nobody would believe in it. Lucy was an ape that could walk upright, just like Bonobo.
22:54
I'm old. They taught me Neanderthal man was evident. He has human DNA. They found fossils of Neanderthal as human as anybody in this chat.
23:03
They taught that to the students. The open -minded students would never believe in the theory of evolution.
23:10
Here's a fun question. Jeff, this is your question,
23:16
Jeff. Why do the textbooks only have drawings as evidence for evolution instead of photographs?
23:34
He doesn't want to answer. Okay. Whoever said that, who wants to answer?
23:39
I'll take the first answer. Go. What was the question? Why do the textbooks only have drawings as evidence for evolution instead of photographs?
23:51
Because they don't have evidence. There's nothing to photograph. There's no observational evidence.
23:58
No observational evidence. And isn't that pitiful that they're teaching it as if it's science?
24:04
What would you expect to see if the theory of evolution were true? Living evidence.
24:12
Lots of intermediary fossils. Evidence. Missing links.
24:21
Suppose I said to you there's an animal that's purple with yellow polka dots, and it's got 600 legs and 95 eyes.
24:28
What would you ask for? I'd like to see it. I don't have any evidence for it, but I could show you a drawing.
24:36
Okay, let's see the drawing. That's exactly what the theory of evolution presents.
24:42
Drawing. It never presents evidence. Amen? Amen. So this is real simple, but I'm a simple guy.
24:51
I'm not a genius. But if this is what the living evidence shows us, there's 8 billion people on earth, 1 million apes.
25:04
How many living ape men? Zero. Zero. Big problem for the apes.
25:12
I mean, for the humans. Okay. That depends how you place the
25:19
Sasquatch in the... You place them in between?
25:25
I don't know. Did you know he got the gold medal for hide and go seek? No. Tell me the rest.
25:33
Bigfoot is the world champion hide and go seek player. Nobody's found him.
25:42
Exactly. Nobody found him. Now, here's a quote from evolutionists.
25:48
Scientists have been on the trail of the last common ancestor for decades, and they still have not found it.
25:56
They haven't found common ancestors for anything. The key to science is observation.
26:04
Evolutionists admit there's no observed ape men. It's anti -science.
26:10
But sadly, they're lying to the kids, and a lot of open -minded kids are buying into it.
26:17
So you can ask people if you're witnessing, have you ever seen evidence for evolution?
26:24
What would you reply if they said yes? What would your question be? What kind of evolution?
26:33
Exactly. What have you seen? Microevolution is you breed dogs.
26:39
That's true. Macro is believing dogs have bacteria ancestors. So it's easy to talk to them.
26:47
Yes. Anybody have a comment or question? I do. It seems that when
26:53
I speak to colleagues at work, we're all engineers, about evolution, they always use the finch beak.
27:04
I mean, unfailingly, every time they use the beak adaptation argument.
27:14
And so I don't know, are people just learning about the finch beaks, and then they're just assuming the rest?
27:22
Because they never come out and say anything else other than the finch beaks. So that's my comment.
27:28
Darwin was the first to talk about the finch, the beaks on the finches of the Galapagos Islands. A great witnessing tip is to ask more questions.
27:40
Oh, could you please explain to me what you know about these beaks? Instead of refuting their arguments, have them elaborate their arguments.
27:50
And if they know what they're talking about, they'll say, well, there are all these different birds.
27:56
And if you had the right type of beak for crushing hard nuts, perhaps, and that's all they had, you would survive and pass on.
28:05
Or if you needed a long beak, you would survive. So what could you easily say?
28:14
Oh, yeah, I've asked them too. And they're like, but that's evolution. I think
28:20
I need to work on my witness. No, it's micro evolution. It's change.
28:26
Remember the word evolution means change. There could be a change in the population of the types of beak.
28:34
But there's still what? Birds. There's still birds.
28:40
Right. Micro evolution is part of God's greatness and wisdom that the bird population will have enough change that the population can keep living.
28:52
One bad event is not going to wipe them all out. You see what I mean? So micro evolution is nothing but variation among the finches so that a large percentage of them can survive no matter what the climate is.
29:07
But they're still only going to make what when they get married and have a baby? Birds.
29:13
Exactly. So they have to show birds coming from non birds, not the types of beaks changing.
29:20
But Robin, the more you witness, the better you get, right? It's practice, like we talked about.
29:28
So be humble. You'll never be perfect, but you'll learn the more you share.
29:33
Okay. And you can go on the internet and type in finches, evolution finches, and look at creation arguments.
29:44
Okay. So there's still birds, and micro evolution is part of God's greatness for variation.
29:50
Oh, that's so good. All right. God is great. He knows what he's doing.
29:55
So the evolutionists might say, hey, the missing links are in the fossil. Let's look at the fossils.
30:01
Don't be scared of fossils. They glorify God. There's trillions of fossils. According to evolutionists, bats show up suddenly in the fossil record, 100 % fat.
30:15
And yet they haven't changed by evolution terms in 52 million years. Ants show up suddenly in the fossil record, 100 % ant, no transition.
30:27
Yet they're unchanged for 99 million years. Snakes show up suddenly in the fossil record.
30:34
According to the evolution timeline, gee whiz, they haven't changed in 150 million years. Now this is my favorite.
30:42
I have many more examples than these. Cyanobacteria shows up suddenly in the fossil record.
30:50
It hasn't changed in three and a half billion years. If you go to my debates, I have about 10 more examples of these.
30:57
Almost any animal you can think of showed up a long, long time ago, or according to them, and haven't changed.
31:04
The point is, is there any evolution evidence for cyanobacteria? No, no transitional forms.
31:16
They haven't changed, and evolution means change. No change in snakes, no change in ants.
31:24
Fossils show sudden appearance. All of a sudden, this animal is in the fossils and stays there.
31:31
It hasn't changed, and evolutionists admit that themselves. It's a very pitiful, non -scientific belief.
31:39
So where are the transitional forms? You can ask people, where are they? Almost have the attitude,
31:46
I will believe it if you can what? Show me. If you can show me, and you should have that attitude, and they won't be able to show you.
31:56
They should have the attitude to change their minds as well. Okay, any comments on evolution? Okay, I'll ask for a volunteer.
32:07
Suppose a polite atheist asks you, why do you believe in God? What would you say?
32:19
Don't everybody answer at one time. Anybody?
32:27
Well, I believe in God because of the evidence that's all around us.
32:34
I mean, there had to be a creator. There had to be. It's back to the old, if you see a building, you know that there was an architect.
32:44
Same thing, if you see this incredible creation, there has to be a creator who created it.
32:52
It can't possibly have happened by chance. Very good. Over the years,
32:58
I say the exact same argument, and I start with a one -word answer.
33:05
I'll see if you guys can come up with a one -word answer if someone asks me why I believe in God. Suppose you come home from work one day, and you see 15 stones on your driveway in this pattern.
33:17
Would your best explanation be the patterns by design, like somebody carefully placed each stone at that location, or is that pattern by chance, like somebody just tossed them?
33:28
What's your best guess? Chance is a great guess, but you can't be certain because you weren't what?
33:36
There. Suppose you come home from work, and you see this on your driveway, six stones in a straight line.
33:44
What would your best guess be now, design or chance? Design. Could you be 100 % sure, though?
33:51
No. Because you weren't what? There. So you'd be 99 % sure, 1 % faith.
34:00
Is it blind faith? No. No, it's very logical faith to believe that's a design, but you can't be sure because you weren't there.
34:09
But the atheist has the inverse. They would have 99 % faith, 1 % sure.
34:18
You follow me? Yeah. The more complex it gets, the less faith we have, the more faith they have.
34:27
Suppose you come home from work, and you see this on your driveway. You see 150 stones in a circle.
34:34
What do you think, design or chance? Somebody put it there. But could you still be 100 % sure?
34:41
Yes. Yes. No. No. Because you weren't? There.
34:47
99 .9%. 99 .9%. Logically, this wouldn't happen.
34:53
It just doesn't happen. Absolutely. But you could only be 99 .99999 % sure and about that much faith.
35:04
You follow me? But the atheist has infinite almost faith and that much sure.
35:10
We have very, very little faith. Here comes my concluding question. Which is more complex, stones in the circle or the human eye?
35:22
The human eye. The human eye. Design or chance?
35:27
What do you guys think? Design. But guess what? You can't be 100 % sure because you weren't there.
35:36
But you could be 99 .999 % sure.
35:41
But you still got that much faith because you weren't there.
35:46
Follow me? Yes. Except that the Bible says that he formed it. Yeah. Right. But I'm not anti -Bible, of course, but we still have faith that we're understanding the
35:56
Bible, that we're reading it properly. But you see what I'm getting at? We don't have to be ashamed to say
36:03
I've got a micro billionth of a mile or an inch faith.
36:10
They have much, much more faith than us. Amen? Yeah. But the more complex it gets, the more likely it's designed and we have less and less faith.
36:23
So could someone volunteer and ask me why do I believe in God? Why do you believe in God?
36:32
Okay. I'm going to start with a one word answer. Design. And I'm going to start with five examples and I'm going to quiz you guys for five examples, okay?
36:42
I believe in God because of design. I believe God designed my eyes, God designed my ears,
36:49
God designed my hands, God designed my feet, and God designed my heart. And if they're designed, there has to be a what?
36:59
A designer, right? If I'm outside, I'll say, you would never believe that stop sign happened by chance, it's the result of design.
37:08
Are your eyes more complex than that stop sign? And 99 % of people will say, yeah.
37:14
Well, that means there has to be a smarter designer. And most people are wide open to that. So I'm going to quiz some of you.
37:23
I'm going to ask you, why do you believe in God? I recommend you start with the design answer. And then give me three examples.
37:32
It could be an animal or a part of the human body. And then you say design requires a designer.
37:39
Okay, Carolyn, are you there? Yes, I'm here. Carolyn, why do you believe in God?
37:45
I believe in God because of the design that I see in the world. Can you give me three specific examples?
37:54
Oh, a flying squirrel is a design example, my digestive tract, and a tree.
38:09
Amen. Very good example. And then wrap it up. If they're designed, there has to be a what?
38:15
Oh, there has to be a designer. Very, very good. Jim? Yes. Why do you believe in God?
38:22
Because of design. Because when I look at the human eye, I see a miraculous design.
38:30
When I observe the bones in the human ear, and the way they create sound, this is to me a requires a designer.
38:42
And when I see the body, the cells of the body, going into the cells, we now do not even understand the intricacy of the cells.
38:56
Even at this time, they are so complex. This requires a designer. Very good.
39:02
Very, very good. Okay, so does that make sense, guys? Apes make apes, people make people, giraffes make giraffes, and there's a designer.
39:12
You can talk to anybody on the planet and plant seeds with them. Okay? If I meet an atheist,
39:19
I'll say, I can give you two great reasons to show that God made you. Do you know what they are? And the person will say, sure, what are they?
39:26
Your eyes, right? And then I ask them, could you explain to me how you think we got eyes?
39:35
And then I just listen and let them suffer in their ignorance.
39:42
So the other person's eyes are great reason that God exists. Okay, how many people here have a dog?
39:51
Me. Good. Do all of you have a pet? Nope.
39:58
I don't. Well, I'm going to use my dog example. That's not my dog, but I do have a pit bull.
40:04
If you have a dog, you can see the greatness of God. What in the world is that?
40:11
Follow me, Marks. How, really? Is that what they call them? Well, when you go to the, not the zoo, but the animal park, and you take a tour, they explain that animals have different marks in the back to get the other animals to follow them in their herds.
40:31
Wow. Well, one thing I love, and I did it just tonight. My daughter had a graduation party and somebody brought their dog.
40:39
I say it real slow. Every single hair on your dog is perfect, and every single hair requires design.
40:52
These are some of my favorite hairs on dogs. Look how they're curved. Some are clockwise, some are counterclockwise.
41:00
You see that? Isn't that beautiful? They're the right location, the right length, the right material, the right color.
41:09
People, take a deep breath. Every single hair on every single dog requires
41:17
DNA programming. God is so huge. He designed every hair on this dog that we see.
41:26
Amen? Amen. Just look at the coloring patterns. It's perfect. What a fantastic, huge God we serve.
41:35
Just looking at the hair on dogs teaches us that. What do you think?
41:41
Is that pretty cool or what? I like that. Those curved hairs,
41:46
God programmed at the angle, the length, the direction. Like I said, one is clockwise, one is counterclockwise.
41:52
Glory to God. If God cares about every hair on every dog ever made, does he care about you guys?
42:04
That is a great witnessing question to ask. I love to ask teenagers that. God cares about a hair on a dog.
42:11
He cares about you much, much more. You're not an accident. What in the world is that?
42:19
The pit bull. Yeah. Now, let me ask you guys, no religious, no bias.
42:25
Do those teeth look like designs to you, or the result of chance? What was the question?
42:35
Do those teeth look like they're the result of design, or the result of chance? Design, absolutely.
42:44
My last debate, I got into dog teeth with my opponent. These are called incisors.
42:51
They're designed for scraping meat off a bone. These are called canines.
42:58
We like to call them fangs. They're designed for tearing and grabbing. These are the premolars.
43:05
They're designed for shredding and chewing. What a great God, amen? These are the molars.
43:11
They're designed for crushing. My son called them the mountain teeth. What a great
43:17
God to design each and every tooth. Now, when the dog closes its mouth, does he bite himself?
43:24
No. No, the teeth are a well -designed system. That's a design, right?
43:32
When the dog closes its mouth, the teeth are just perfectly intertwined.
43:39
Amen. Okay, this is where I hope you get mad at me for about two seconds. God does not make things.
43:49
God makes systems. Now, you guys heard of Michael Behe?
43:55
Yes. He uses the term irreducible complexity. I'm not smart enough to understand what that means, but I know what system means.
44:05
Get it? A system means many components need to work together, or the whole thing won't work, right?
44:14
Let's talk about the dog's digestive system. First off, is the dog a system?
44:23
Yes. I would say it's a self -contained and closed system, yes. Very good.
44:29
Good. Is the digestive system a system? Yes. Yes. Is the stomach a system?
44:39
Yes. Are the cells in the stomach a system? Yes. Are the molecules a system?
44:46
Yes. Are the atoms a system? What evolved first, electrons, protons, or neutrons, right?
44:55
They all need to be there at once. During my debate, and all of these things are needed for digestion in a dog.
45:05
In my debate, I asked my opponent a question that the audience liked. What evolved first, the mouth or the anus?
45:16
It's a funny question, but it's a good one, don't you think? Yeah. It makes a lot of sense, actually.
45:25
Suppose the anus evolved in January, but the mouth didn't evolve to December. Is the dog going to be alive?
45:32
No. Well, definitely nothing coming out the back end, for sure. Suppose the beautiful beast evolves a mouth in January, but the anus doesn't show up for several months.
45:43
He'll die. Exploding dogs? Yeah. God makes systems, and the systems all have to work from day one.
45:55
Amen? Just like the Bible teaches, all at once. Any questions?
46:02
Good. What is the IQ of nature? Nature, whatever nature? Zero. Nature has no intelligence.
46:15
Creationists believe there's a designer. What's the IQ of God? Off the charts.
46:23
Infinite. Oh, I was just going to say. When you see something like this, do you choose to believe there's a designer with an
46:30
IQ of infinity or nature with an IQ of zero? It's a designer.
46:39
Amen. It's obvious. Okay. Now, the all -time best question
46:45
I ask an atheist is a very simple one. How did life originate?
46:52
And I always add this. What is your best explanation? Why do
46:57
I include what is your best explanation when I ask this? To make them think.
47:05
I was saying it because you want to hear funny stories. Okay, I'll role play the atheist who wants to ask me how did life originate?
47:15
I will. Okay, go ahead. How did life originate? Well, nobody knows,
47:20
June. That's why we have science to research things like this so we can find answers, but nobody knows.
47:27
So what is your best explanation? Exactly. That's why I say I didn't ask if you knew.
47:35
I would like to hear your best explanation. And they'll say the same thing. Well, we don't know.
47:40
I'm not asking if you know. What's your best explanation? They believe matter and energy mixed together and became living.
47:51
They can believe that if they want, but don't call it science. Because science teaches life only comes from life.
48:01
The law of biogenesis and the self -theory teach life only comes from what? Life. Life.
48:07
This question is a nightmare for the atheist. This is the question they really hate.
48:14
So therefore, it's the best question to ask, right? I've asked it thousands of times.
48:20
I've never come close to hearing anything that makes sense. Science and laws of observation support creation and falsifies atheism.
48:30
Okay, I need a volunteer here. Who wants to volunteer? I'll volunteer.
48:38
Okay, Jim. Yeah. Suppose you ask me, how did life originate?
48:44
And I say, well, Jim, evolution does not address the question of the origin of life or the universe.
48:52
Have you ever heard him say that, Jim? Then I would say, what is your best answer?
49:02
No, I'm trying to... I'll play the evolutionist.
49:08
Well, Jim, evolution only starts after there's already life. We don't talk about the origin of life.
49:14
And I'll give you a fake smile. Oh, origin of what? That's pretty convenient.
49:24
I would ask you, is that what you believe? Or see your evolutionists often says.
49:41
I'm trying to refer it back to what we were talking in the past. I didn't really talk about it in the past.
49:51
But I'll show you what I like to say. They say this all the time when I debate. So I have a slide for it.
49:57
I say evolutionists not wanting to talk about the question of the origin of life or the universe is like saying, hey, let's talk about baseball.
50:06
But I only want to talk about the ninth inning. Right? You get it?
50:12
They only want to talk about after life is already here. But what do creationists love to talk about?
50:20
How life started. We'd love to talk about the whole baseball game. We'd love to start about how it started.
50:27
Because evolutionists know they can't begin to answer the origin of the universe of the origin of life.
50:33
So they'll say, oh, we only like to talk about after life began. Follow me?
50:40
So we love to talk about the whole game. And that's where we really can destroy and kill their weak arguments.
50:48
Okay. Any comments on that? But someone said earlier, how convenient for them to say,
50:54
I only want to talk about this part of the question. Right? And let's not be an open -minded and just talk about that.
51:04
Okay? Any comments or questions? Oh, I'm running a little bit over. Could I share some general evangelism stuff with you guys?
51:16
Okay. I've been witnessing for about 33 years. And for 31 years,
51:21
I was very ineffective. I did my best. But people would say, hey, Bill, do you see many people come to Christ?
51:28
I go, ah, maybe a couple. And lately,
51:34
I've been keeping records on Excel. In the last year, 500 people have prayed with me to have
51:42
Jesus as Lord and Savior. And I write it down and I pray for them. And I want to share with you what the difference is.
51:50
My daughter went to an evangelism class and shared something that is so powerful.
51:56
And I want to share it with you. Okay, ready? Yeah. And it just gets right to the point.
52:04
This is real simple stuff, too. The all -time best first witnessing question I ask someone is this.
52:11
It's really simple. Can I ask you a question? Remember that.
52:18
99 % of the people are going to say what? What? Or yes?
52:25
They're going to say sure. Sure. What I do is I'll often go to high schools or colleges, have someone attract, and say, can
52:33
I ask you a question? And most of them will say sure. Okay. The second question is what made the difference between leading people to Christ or not.
52:48
So very slowly, I ask this question. After they say sure, you can ask me a question. What do you think will happen to you after you die?
53:03
And I ask this in friendship. And then I metaphorically put my hand over my mouth and say nothing.
53:14
Would you guys agree this is a fantastic witnessing question? What are your comments? Absolutely.
53:21
It is. Yeah. Please remember it. Now, this is my opinion.
53:27
I don't like saying, why should Jesus let you into heaven, right? It's like, whoa, you're in my space, bro.
53:37
So I don't even bring up God or Jesus or the Bible. I ask them, what do you think will happen to you after you die?
53:44
And then I just listen. And if they don't say anything, I just let them process.
53:51
Would you guys think every person on this planet thinks about their death? Yes. Yes. And would you agree, probably very, very few have ever talked to anybody about it, right?
54:03
Right. So we've got billions of people terrified secretly about their death, but not talking about it.
54:14
So even if you see a young, healthy college kid, this question really cuts to the quick. Any comments up to this point, guys and girls?
54:23
I think right now, everybody that is so terrified of the
54:29
COVID -19, they are all so scared that they're going to get this and die that they can't see the truth about the virus.
54:40
Or they need the truth about it. And I love these people. They're acting like they're never going to die, right?
54:48
If you get away from COVID, something else is going to get you later, right? Yep. So they need to...
54:55
My son said this. He said, Dad, people are doing more in preparation of getting toilet paper, preparation of eternity.
55:04
Yeah. And it's bad, but it's funny and true. Good. Now, what are some possible answers you could get if you ask somebody this?
55:16
You cease to exist. Okay. All right. So... You come back to something else.
55:25
Well, those are all great answers. If someone says we cease to exist, I ask them a question.
55:32
Who said that question? I did, June. Okay. June, could you role play somebody who said that?
55:38
Sure. Okay. First, I would say I respect your answer. So you think this is our only life and then it's all over, right,
55:47
June? Right. Okay. Could I ask you another question, June? Sure. Do you believe in God and you can say anything you want?
55:57
I don't know. What's your best guess, June? If you had to bet a penny, would you bet there is a
56:03
God or there's not a God? There might be.
56:12
Okay. So you would tend to say there is a God? I guess so. Okay.
56:17
Well, I agree with you, June, but let's suppose you're right. Let's suppose there is a
56:24
God, we go through this life, and when we die, that's it, okay?
56:30
Is that fair, June? Yes. If that's true, June, God is a sadist.
56:37
God is cruel because everyone suffers. We get old.
56:43
We have wars. We have cancer. Wouldn't you agree, June, that if this is our only life,
56:49
God just created us and is sitting back and watching us get old and die? That's cruel, isn't it?
56:55
Yeah, but that's why you have to enjoy this life. Right, but no matter what, we're all going to suffer and die, right,
57:03
June? Yes. Well, I like to pull out my Bible, and I'm not a hero, but I buy
57:10
Bibles in bulk for 60 cents, and I give them a Bible, and you probably have it memorized.
57:16
June, do you have John 3 .16 memorized? Yes, I do. So, June, suppose you told me you believe there is a
57:23
God, but this is our only life, and I said, I think that would be a cruel, evil, sadistic
57:28
God. June, could you please read John 3 .16 for me? And then
57:33
I have the student—I like students—then I have the student read it. What does it say? For God so loved the world,
57:40
He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.
57:46
Okay, so, June, according to the Bible—not according to me—God loves the world.
57:52
He did not create us just to suffer and die. A loving God would have life after this life.
58:00
And here's a deep question for everybody in here, and you can answer if you want. What is the meaning of life?
58:09
Wow. That's a good question. I'll take three answers from three different people.
58:15
Go. Well, God wanted a relationship with us, so He created us for relationship with Him, and that should be our purpose in life, is to know
58:27
Him. I sure can't argue with that.
58:33
Any other answers? Well, a broader answer might be that He's in the process of redeeming the entire creation.
58:49
Excellent. These are both answers I agree with 100%. One more answer?
59:05
Go ahead. Go ahead, Carolyn. Our task is to find
59:11
Him and to become, you know, His child redeemed.
59:18
Excellent. And to spread the word as best we can. Beautiful. Beautiful.
59:25
And my answer is the same answer, which is a little different wording, because mine's very, very simple.
59:32
I tell people, I think the whole purpose of life is to determine who spends eternity with God and who doesn't.
59:43
Period. And then we can build after that. Doesn't that make sense? Because here's, not to digress, just to quiz you guys.
59:54
And this is more, nobody knows for certain, but how many people here think God knew Adam and Eve were going to fall and sin?
01:00:01
Yes. Yes. I believe absolutely, because God uses
01:00:07
Satan to determine who belongs to Him and who doesn't. Yeah.
01:00:13
So if I'm witnessing to somebody, the purpose of life is John 3, 16. It's either eternal life or perish with a loving
01:00:21
God. Okay. And any comments on that? I like that answer.
01:00:32
Yeah. Yeah. It's a deep question. What's the purpose of life? And if you don't daydream enough, you might not have an answer.
01:00:39
And I've done a lot of daydreaming. And tell that person. Oh, and after you ask the question, you just listen.
01:00:48
And again, it is about being redeemed, knowing what his will is, et cetera. So suppose they say, this is what you said.
01:00:57
Oh, nothing. I'll just be buried. What do you do? I'll just be buried.
01:01:04
So suppose the person you're witnessing to says, I don't think anything happens. I'll just be buried. Oh, you're asking if they believe in God.
01:01:11
Very, very, very good. And suppose they say, yes, I guess so. What do you do?
01:01:18
Then you have them read John 3, 16. You guys are outstanding. Suppose they say, no,
01:01:24
I don't believe in God. I think everything got here by chance. What would your next question be?
01:01:32
Do you believe in God? Suppose they say, no, I don't. I was going to say, then that's a good time to tell them why we believe in God.
01:01:43
But that's not asking questions. So would it be, do you have proof of that?
01:01:49
Or what's your best explanation for that? What's your best? Or you can ask a one word question.
01:01:55
Suppose they say, I don't believe in God. Why? I love that question.
01:02:03
Why? And then, well, there's science.
01:02:17
There's a lot of suffering. Just let them suffer as they try to explain why they don't believe in God.
01:02:25
Amen. If the opponent has a bad argument, the best thing to do is what?
01:02:33
Let them hang themselves. Let them hang themselves. Let them talk. Just keep going. I'm here as long as you want.
01:02:40
And they really can't. Now, suppose they ask you, well, why do you believe in God?
01:02:45
Because they will do that because they won't have an answer. What can you say? Design. Design.
01:02:53
Sometimes I'll pick up a leaf. And I'll say, you know what this is? People call them leaves.
01:02:58
But you know what it is? The solar panel. It can make oxygen.
01:03:07
When the leaf dies, does it become nutrition or toxic waste? Nutrition.
01:03:14
Nutrition. And it can become food to some animals, shade to other animals. God can make a solar panel that makes oxygen, becomes nutrition.
01:03:27
That is a design. And everything, again, 99 % of people, you don't have to get real deep.
01:03:34
They're wide open to the good news of the gospel. But some are not. But it's very fun and very easy to witness to them.
01:03:43
So any comments on that? I like your answers.
01:03:51
And please believe me. It's not like, gee, Bill is smart. Bill has made 10 ,000 mistakes and refined the mistakes.
01:04:02
You follow me? And it's a joy to share that with you. And a lot of it is just from, oh,
01:04:09
I should have said this. If nothing happens, do you believe in God? And if they do, you show them.
01:04:16
What verse, everybody? Psalm 316. And have them read it.
01:04:23
If you get a non -believer to read the Bible, you won't believe the power involved.
01:04:30
Amen? Does anybody have any stories on that, would they like to share? I have one.
01:04:39
Sure. I was, we were downtown and we were street witnessing. I was brand new to going out and street witnessing.
01:04:46
And I had gone, I just knew what they told me to do from break comfort training.
01:04:53
And there was some guy who was arguing with me and he didn't believe in God. And I realized
01:04:58
I wasn't going to get anywhere. So I told him, okay, well, I'll pray for you.
01:05:04
I said, you know, thank you for talking with me. I will pray for you. And he came unglued.
01:05:12
He said, don't you pray for me? And that was like a confirmation from the
01:05:17
Lord saying, he knows God exists. He's, he, he's satisfied living in his sinful life.
01:05:26
He doesn't want me to pray for him. He doesn't, he's rejecting God on purpose. That made a huge impression on me.
01:05:35
Not to digress, but I think there's four main reasons people are atheists. Number one, they hate
01:05:41
God because of suffering. I want to ask you to imagine this. Imagine you were four years old and you're being abused by your parents.
01:05:51
You might say, dear God, please have it stopped. Please have it stopped. And for four years, it doesn't stop.
01:05:59
You might snap and say, I hate you. You hate me. I'm not doing anything you want.
01:06:04
I'm going to fight you. Does that make sense? Yes. That's who you ran into June.
01:06:10
I think you ran into somebody who hates God because they were hurting. They prayed and nothing happened.
01:06:17
Maybe a parent died or something, or maybe their child died. And they're emotionally angry at God.
01:06:24
They're not really atheists. Atheist number two wants to sin without guilt. That was me.
01:06:29
I like the idea of no God. I can do whatever I want. Atheist number three wants to find the approval of people.
01:06:37
Oh, this is what smart people believe. So I guess I'll believe that. And atheist number four has never heard any other argument.
01:06:46
All they've heard is atheism, evolution, and they just believe it like sleep, a sheep being led to the slaughter.
01:06:54
Atheist number one goal, the haters. Their goal is that atheist number four never hears about creation.
01:07:02
That's how they get their jollies. Amen. They want the open -minded people to not hear anything about creation.
01:07:10
But does that make sense? Four types of atheists. Not all of them hate
01:07:15
God. I never hated God when I was an atheist. But I didn't want to believe because of sin, and it's all
01:07:21
I was taught. That's why they don't want it in school, because some open -minded child might actually believe in.
01:07:29
Absolutely. And a small percentage of haters have controlled their school. But June, you planted seeds with that guy.
01:07:37
What you said to him is still in his mind. He can't get that out of his mind, okay? So your words were not wasted.
01:07:46
And keep praying for him. But he's got a broken heart towards God. Any comments?
01:07:53
Anybody? Okay, here's another fun one you might hear. Somebody said it earlier.
01:08:01
Oops. Someone might say, oh, I just think we come back to something else. You guys ever heard that?
01:08:07
Yep. Guess what verse I used for that. I hand them a
01:08:15
Bible. Romans 5 -8. Well, that's very good. My sister was born on September 27, which is 9 -27.
01:08:29
I hand them the Bible, and I said, okay, I respect your beliefs that we come back to something else.
01:08:34
Could you read Hebrews 9 -27 for me? Is there anybody here that's familiar with that?
01:08:45
Yes. Yes. Go ahead, Jim. Hebrews 9 -27. And as it is appointed to men once to die, but after this, the judgment.
01:08:56
I got a fun story for you. I handed my Bible to a bunch of kids at Coachella High School, who they all believed in reincarnation.
01:09:04
And I gave it to who I thought was the leader. And I said, could you read Hebrews 9 -27? And what's awesome, she also read 9 -28.
01:09:13
I'm going to read 9 -28 for you as well. So 9 -27. And inasmuch as it's appointed for men to die once, and after this comes judgment.
01:09:27
So Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, shall appear a second time for salvation without reference to those who eagerly await him.
01:09:44
She read that and I go, wow, am I glad she included Hebrews 9 -28. So I said, if you are eagerly awaiting
01:09:51
Christ, you will be saved. But you only die once according to the
01:09:58
Bible. Again, it doesn't matter what I think. And all six of those kids prayed with me to have
01:10:03
Christ as Lord. And these kids are very, very anxious for the gospel.
01:10:18
So okay, that's supposed to say, to come back to something else. Hebrews 9 -27 and 28.
01:10:26
Read it. I love the word eagerly awaiting him. Okay, what's a very, very common answer that people say that happens to them after they die?
01:10:40
Oh, I think I'll go to heaven because what? I'm a good person. Yeah.
01:10:47
And this is just me. I'm not a five -point Calvinist. I believe a lot of people do a lot of good that we're not completely depraved.
01:10:58
You know what I mean? That people do good things, that the Bible calls many people that they do righteous things.
01:11:06
Righteous doesn't mean perfect. Perfect. It means you're doing what's right every now and then. So I tell people,
01:11:13
I don't doubt you do a lot of good. But between me and you, we both know we're far from perfect.
01:11:20
I'll even say there's a public bill and a private bill. Would you guys also admit there's a public you and a private you?
01:11:30
It is humorous, right? Years ago, my wife got off the phone, and my daughter, when she was about five, said,
01:11:40
Mommy, why don't you talk to us with your phone voice? You get it?
01:11:47
But there's different sides. And privately, we know we're far from perfect, amen, even though we love the
01:11:53
Lord. I don't doubt you're a good person, but we both know we mess up, right?
01:12:02
So we can't go to heaven based on being good. So I asked that person, why do you think
01:12:10
Jesus went to the cross? I'll ask you guys.
01:12:17
Why did Jesus go to the cross? To save us.
01:12:24
Save us how? Is that a trick question? Sacrifice.
01:12:30
Yeah. Sacrifice us for what? Our sins. Our sins. I got goosebumps.
01:12:37
I got them right now. I think the difference between heaven and hell is one word.
01:12:45
Jesus. Forgiven. And it builds off that.
01:12:51
Diane, you need to be forgiven. And you are forgiven because of who that you just said?
01:12:57
Jesus. Jesus. And what did Jesus do? He died so that I could be forgiven.
01:13:03
Right. Diane is forgiven because Jesus died on the cross to take away her sins.
01:13:12
So I tell these young people, you can't be perfect. You should try to be perfect, but you can't.
01:13:19
God knows that though. That's cool, right? God knows we can't be. So we need to be forgiven.
01:13:27
So I asked that person, this is what the Bible teaches. All sin, all short, but I don't even get into that, but they all know they're sinners.
01:13:38
And I love great comfort, but I think people know they're sinners without a lot of effort going into it.
01:13:49
And if being good could get you into heaven, why would Jesus do what? Die.
01:13:57
Right. Why would he even come? Jesus, right. You don't need to go up there because I'm so good.
01:14:03
He'd be the biggest fool ever, would he not? But he isn't a fool. He had to go on that cross for us to be forgiven.
01:14:10
Okay. He would have been a fool to go if we could go to heaven by being good. Okay. So we just talked about this.
01:14:18
So who goes to heaven? Those who are forgiven.
01:14:23
They're forgiven. I'll quiz you guys. Ready? I never, never, never say to a person on the street, you need to be born again.
01:14:33
You need to be saved. You need to ask Jesus into your heart. Why do
01:14:40
I never say that to somebody out on the street? Foreign language.
01:14:46
You don't understand what you're saying. What in the world is this guy talking about? I'm an established.
01:14:52
But if you go to someone on the street and say, you need to be forgiven. Everybody knows what that means.
01:15:00
And I personally love Catholic people. Millions.
01:15:07
But just another fun question. I hope I'm not ruining your whole night. If you could have one prayer answered, anybody in this room can answer.
01:15:15
Just think about this. If you could have one prayer answered, what would it be? For all of my family to come to the
01:15:30
Lord is my number one prayer. To be forgiven.
01:15:38
Good. Any other answers? These are all good answers and good things to daydream about.
01:15:46
Yeah, I love daydreaming in my car with no radio on. Don't have your radio on. Just think while you're driving your car.
01:15:54
It's wonderful. But this is my prayer. If I had one, it would be dear
01:16:00
Lord. Please have the Catholic Church teach the gospel.
01:16:07
Jesus, let me pray. Millions and millions of Catholics go to church.
01:16:13
And what are they learning? Nothing. Yeah, pretty much.
01:16:18
I have a couple of Catholic friends. Please elaborate. Well, my one friend, she talks a lot about God, but never mentions
01:16:30
Jesus. And she continues on in her sin.
01:16:38
But because she goes to confession, it's okay. And it's just very strange.
01:16:47
I never hear, you know, I'm forgiven. I never hear, you know, Jesus is going to come back and say, redeem us.
01:16:54
I never hear that, you know, things like that. And prayers for parking spots. Robin, do you think she ever reads her
01:17:02
Bible? No. No. If the Catholic Church would get people into their
01:17:09
Bible and teach what the Bible says, we could have a different world.
01:17:14
Amen. Oh, there'd be a lot more believers. Bill? Yeah.
01:17:22
So I've been into many Catholic churches, and I have observed that they teach the four gospels, or they present the, maybe not the synoptic, but Matthew, Mark, and Luke, especially.
01:17:40
And yet they, your prayer request is a good one, if they would only teach the gospel.
01:17:48
They're in the gospels, but they don't teach the gospel. Because the teaching of the gospel was in the hands of that masterful
01:17:55
Paul of Tarsus, who wrote most of the chapters of the New Testament.
01:18:02
And he wrung it out like a sponge, and with the others,
01:18:11
Peter and John and the rest, Jude. So they just don't give a life -changing message.
01:18:21
No. Oh, that's good. Yes. Yeah, no life -changing message, exactly. I was raised
01:18:27
Catholic. I went to Catholic school. When I was 12 years old, I decided
01:18:33
I was going to read the Bible. I took it to school with me, and I got in trouble.
01:18:39
The nun said, what are you doing with that? And I said, I'm going to read it. She says, no, you don't need to read that.
01:18:45
We will teach you what you need to know. Amen. I think they want the authority over the people.
01:18:54
And they should be just saying, I'm not a genius. Hey, don't believe me. You read your
01:19:00
Bible, and then you decide if what I'm saying is true. But they're like, no, no, no, no.
01:19:05
They used to kill people for reading the Bible and printing the Bible, right? Yes. Sick, sick.
01:19:12
Get them into the Word. And I laugh. The reason I think they don't want them getting into the
01:19:18
Bible is why? They'll leave. Yeah, they'll leave.
01:19:23
They're not being fed here. Yeah. And I would love to let them stay in.
01:19:29
You know, I'm not into the Pope and all that. Just get these people into the Word, man. But I don't know.
01:19:38
I just pray for these Catholics because they're lost. They don't even know they're lost. But the Catholic people,
01:19:44
I know, like a lot of Hispanic people, they're so open to the gospel. I love them. Wonderful.
01:19:50
Would you guys agree? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, delightful.
01:19:57
I'll just throw a couple of quick verses. Okay, and I just want to quick say, it's 822.
01:20:03
I know that I had said the ending time was eight. So if anybody needs to leave, don't feel bad.
01:20:10
Yes, I won't be offended. But just the word forgiven. I love it because everybody knows what forgiven means.
01:20:18
It's over and over the Bible. It's not us. We're forgiven because of him.
01:20:28
Forgiven. And isn't this fun? Isn't it a relief to know that we don't have to be perfect to go to heaven?
01:20:36
Yes. Yes. Sometimes I say to men, I go, men to men, we know we can't be perfect.
01:20:44
You know, we have a public image, but we're fall short.
01:20:50
We have our temptations. Now, here's the fun question, though.
01:20:56
I always ask people this. Who is forgiven? I'll ask you guys.
01:21:08
All who put their trust in Christ. Okay. Those who repent.
01:21:14
Okay, keep going. Those who accept the forgiveness.
01:21:23
Great answers. I'm not contradicting any of them. Repent and put their trust in Jesus.
01:21:30
Good. All who agree with Jesus that we are sinners and that he is there to forgive us.
01:21:38
He's the only one who can forgive that sin. Okay. Fun question.
01:21:46
Could someone believe that Jesus died for their sins and be getting drunk every night, cheating on his wife every night?
01:21:58
You know what I mean? Cheating on his wife every night, robbing a bank when he needs to. Hey, I still believe, you know,
01:22:04
Jesus died for my sins. There's no evidence of repentance. Doesn't Jesus say that you have to believe in him and repent?
01:22:12
Amen. Some people would disagree, but we need
01:22:17
Jesus as Lord. Amen. Yes. Well, I just had the conversation with my sister, whose husband wants a divorce after 37 years.
01:22:29
And she had stopped going to AA meetings 17 years ago. And I told her that, you know, she shouldn't be doing that.
01:22:36
She's like, well, I was going to church. I said, but Cindy, there's been no change in your life.
01:22:44
And she's like, well, I'm going to go to heaven. I believe in God or I believe in Jesus. And I said, yeah, but there's been no change.
01:22:50
And, you know, I probably way overstepped my bounds with that conversation. But I saw no change in her life.
01:22:59
You know, maybe, you know, I mean, I'm not, but I'm just saying I didn't see any change. And, but she was saying, because she went to church and believed in Jesus, that was good enough.
01:23:11
Okay, here's my, bear with me on this. Jim, I'll ask you this question.
01:23:19
Ready? Yes. Suppose I said to you, Jim, I believe in Adolf Hitler. What would you think?
01:23:29
Well, I would have to tell you that I believe in him too. He did live. But so, but it doesn't do anything.
01:23:40
Adolf Hitler does not do anything for you right now. And he cannot. Only Christ, who has lived and died for your sins can do something for you.
01:23:50
Not Adolf Hitler or not anybody else. Okay. But the word belief can mean two very different things, right?
01:23:58
Yes. Oh, I just believe he existed. Right? Yes. And, but if the first thing is like, wow, this guy's a wacko that he's following his teachings, right?
01:24:10
Yes. Because belief can mean that, or it means I just believe he existed. And sadly, was it
01:24:19
Robin's sister? She just - Yes. Yes, that was me, my sister.
01:24:26
Very sadly, she's just saying, I believe in your existence. Well, as you know, the Bible teaches even who believes in God and shutters.
01:24:35
Satan. Right. Even the demons believe. Yes. Here's a fun one.
01:24:40
You got, who, what famous entity is a young earth Bible believing creationist who believes
01:24:48
Jesus died for their sins and they're forgiven if he's Lord? Who believes that?
01:24:59
Satan. Oh, Satan. Bill. Yeah, me too.
01:25:04
But Satan has all the intellectual beliefs, but he doesn't have
01:25:10
Jesus as Lord. Oh. Lord means master, ruler, king, or boss.
01:25:18
I love asking college and high school kids this. Let's see, who haven't
01:25:23
I talked to in a while? Terry, are you there, Terry? Yes, yes,
01:25:29
I'm here. Okay, Terry. Terry, suppose I'm witnessing to you and you're thinking about God.
01:25:35
I said, Terry, suppose you hired me and you're my boss at Starbucks, let's say.
01:25:41
Oh, oh, okay. I'd never go there. I've never been there. Thank you. Me neither.
01:25:47
But you say, hey, Bill, clean those tables. And I say, no, I don't want to. Hey, Bill, could you make some coffee?
01:25:55
No, I don't feel like it. Hey, Bill, could you take the money from those customers? No, I don't want to.
01:26:00
If you were my boss, Terry, what would you do? Well, I'd probably have to write you up before I fired you, but I would.
01:26:09
There's a limit to your patience, right? Yes. And I believe it's the same with the
01:26:16
Lord. We have to treat him like the boss. We will never be perfect, but we have to treat him as the boss.
01:26:25
There's many verses that Matthew 7, 21. Why do you come to me saying,
01:26:33
Lord, Lord? Or many will come to you saying, Lord, Lord, but you don't do what I say.
01:26:38
Oops, you're familiar with that terrifying verse.
01:26:44
Depart from me, for I never knew you, right? And Robin, I want to encourage you that you're doing good with your sister, even if you might say, oh,
01:26:55
I didn't put it right. Because you're showing her that she's got to get her life straightened out.
01:27:04
I felt like I was overstepping my bounds. But isn't it true that if you believe in him, he should change your life?
01:27:12
Doesn't it say that in the Bible? That's a great question. Bible trivia.
01:27:20
Every time Jesus found one of his disciples, what were they doing? Sleeping?
01:27:27
No, no, first found them. Oh, fishing. Working, living their lives.
01:27:35
Every one of them was working. I believe Jesus wants seekers, people that are seeking him.
01:27:43
Seek ye first the kingdom of God, seek and ye shall find. I think, and I say this politely, a lot of lazy people are just saying, prove yourself to me, right?
01:27:55
Why doesn't God prove himself to me? Well, I think he has if you've seen the human eye, et cetera, right?
01:28:02
But I believe God wants seekers. And that's why he doesn't come and do magic tricks for us to prove that he's
01:28:09
God. Seek and ye shall find. And continually pray for your sister,
01:28:16
Robin. But she's not treating Jesus as boss, is she? Not that I can see.
01:28:23
I don't want to judge her. Right. And sometimes I'm, you know, I'm guilty myself. Although the
01:28:30
Lord has changed my life greatly. And I think that's proof that I believe, though sometimes
01:28:40
I doubt. But I just think that people who say that should show it in their life at least a little bit.
01:28:50
And to encourage everyone, look at Peter. Nobody messed up more than Peter.
01:28:57
Amen. The first Pope. Yeah, right, right. The first Pope. So God knows,
01:29:04
I say this lovingly, we're all knuckleheads. We're all a bunch of dumb sheep trying to get through life. But he knows the sheep that are listening for his voice and trying to follow him.
01:29:15
And keep praying for your sister. And I'll use a tennis analogy. I used to play a lot of tennis.
01:29:22
I was OK. I wasn't great. And I met the net and my friend zinged it down the line.
01:29:28
And he goes, Bill, always stick out your racket. You never know if you're going to reach it.
01:29:34
Right. For a while, I would do that. And every now and then you would reach it. The point is,
01:29:40
Robin, you don't know if your words are going to be good or not. But you might as well put them out there. Right. I suppose.
01:29:46
Yeah. And so, yeah, keep her in prayer. Here's a scary verse right there.
01:29:54
Right. Good. But who does, according to Matthew 7?
01:30:03
Who does the will of my father who is in heaven. Right. And you have to seek him.
01:30:11
OK. And that repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in his name to all the nations.
01:30:19
What? Let's seek him. 24. OK. So repentance is huge for forgiveness of sins.
01:30:33
Not repentance for forgiveness of sins. Yeah. Any comments or questions?
01:30:43
Yeah. Repentance. Wouldn't that mean that, let's say I'm the one that's repenting.
01:30:49
That means that I have come to an understanding of who I am before God. And I repent of who
01:30:58
I am. I see him for who he is. And I see myself mainly as a sinner.
01:31:04
And I repent of that. So there has to be some awareness,
01:31:15
I think, of who you are and what you've done in your life. But it has to be in respect to whom
01:31:22
God is. To whom God is. A sinless one. Amen.
01:31:29
And boxing, if you compare yourself to a two -year -old, you're a great boxer, right?
01:31:36
Yes, yes, yes. Compare yourself to Mike Tyson and his prime. You don't know what you're doing. Yes. So we could say, hey,
01:31:43
I'm better than that guy. Our standard is higher than that. Amen. Right.
01:31:50
Amen. So any other comments or questions? Anybody want to add anything?
01:32:02
I have a comment is that I've really appreciated this tonight. That's what
01:32:09
I was going to say. This is a lot of really good information. Yes. One word, rich.
01:32:15
Oh, it's been rich. Well, I'm humbled to do it. And I don't want you to be scared of evangelism because most of the people out there are very nice.
01:32:25
You ask them a question and listen to them. Great, great things can happen.
01:32:31
And so quick witnessing review.
01:32:36
What's witnessing tip number one? Anybody remember? Be nice. Be nice. Okay.
01:32:42
Number two? Ask questions. Good. Number three?
01:32:49
Know your audience. Yes. Your ears are a more effective witnessing tool than your mouth.
01:32:59
Just listen and absorb and care for that person. God loves that person, right? And witnessing tip number four?
01:33:11
Remember the golf ball? Practice, practice, practice. Practice. Yes. Yes.
01:33:19
Jude, do you still go witnessing? Yes, I do. Good. And you get better over time, right?
01:33:24
Yes. Yes, yes, yes. It's turned into, I have some of the mass gospel tracks.
01:33:32
So it's been really kind of nice with the COVID -19. That was, I made a lot of masks and every mask, one of the gospel tracks with the
01:33:39
COVID -19 in there. Oh. It's the right comfort, right? Yes. Wow.
01:33:45
Good for you. Thank you. I bought a bunch of Bibles from a website called biblesinboth .com.
01:33:54
Nice. They're about 70 cents if you buy a whole bunch of them. So I don't know if you want to team up. And they're nice.
01:34:01
That's a good deal. That's a real good deal. If you look on the internet, you can find it, biblesinboth .com.
01:34:08
I'm writing that down. B -U -L -K. Bibles in both.
01:34:16
B -U -L -K. Yes, B -U -L -K. Got it. Thank you. And you know what? I'm going to,
01:34:21
I'll give you my email. If you guys want to write it down. You guys can email me if you have questions.
01:34:33
Billyjack1 at hotmail .com. Okay, perfect.
01:34:49
Okay. Little more review. What about evolution? Anybody? Apes make apes and people make people.
01:34:59
Ladybugs make ladybugs. Yes. They do. And that's not religion.
01:35:05
It's genetics. Very good. And why do you believe in God? Design. Give me an example.
01:35:15
The hand. Aren't you glad we didn't have hoops?
01:35:25
Witnessing. What's the best first question to ask? Can I ask you a question? Yes. Powerful.
01:35:31
Powerful. Second question. What do you think happens when you die?
01:35:37
Good. And who goes to heaven? The forgiven. And who's forgiven? Oops. Not the monkeys.
01:35:47
You're forgiven if Jesus is Lord. So Satan is not forgiven. People who just say, yeah,
01:35:54
I believe in you, Lord. Hey, let's go get wasted and rob a bank. You better be careful.
01:36:00
And to quote Greg Laurie, we're not judging. We're just fruit inspectors. Yeah. Right? There we go.
01:36:10
Isn't that beautiful? Love it. Me too. What a great guy. Thank you so much.
01:36:17
Thanks so much, Bill, for sharing with us. Thank you very much.
01:36:22
Sorry that you couldn't come in person, but then this might actually work out better for you because you didn't have all that travel time.
01:36:30
And you get to see my bobbleheads too. Well, Diane, I'm going to email you, and you can forward it to all your people if you'd like.
01:36:42
Okay. Yes. But really pray about going out and witnessing. And are any of you guys retired?
01:36:50
Yep. Yes. Yes. Okay. Fantastic witnessing tip.
01:36:58
Take some tracks, take some Bibles, and I'll email this to you, Diane. Go to a public high school, off school property.
01:37:08
When the kids come off, you dress really nice. I dress really nice.
01:37:13
Not a tie, but I hand them a track. And I say, hey, happy Tuesday. Oh, thank you.
01:37:19
Can I ask you a question? And then it goes from there. And it's so exciting that these kids are really thirsty for knowing what happens to their soul after they die.
01:37:30
First, they have to get back into school. Right, right. Who would like to close in prayer?
01:37:43
I'll close. Okay, great. Oh, Heavenly Father, we thank you for such a wealth of information and things to think about and new tools that we've learned tonight,
01:37:56
Lord, to help us in telling other people about you and who you are and what you've done for them.
01:38:05
And Lord, we just thank you for Bill and the information that he's brought to us.
01:38:11
And Father, we just ask that you would help us to remember the things that we've learned.
01:38:16
I know I have a tendency to lose things, Lord, and that we would be able to be faithful witnesses to you.
