Christian teachers. Some good, some not so good. Obviously we can't cover every single popular

Christian teacher thoroughly in just one video, so we're going to provide a very brief summary of a lot of them.

Let's just start with a group of Christian teachers who are probably the most popular Christian teachers in the world today.

These Christian teachers fall into the category of Prosperity Preachers or Word of Faith Teachers.

Generally speaking, these are false teachers who have replaced the gospel of sin and salvation with a false gospel of healings, miracles, and prosperity.

To state the obvious, it's much easier to attract large numbers if you almost never talk about sin and always talk about receiving blessings from God.

You better believe the topic was not the gospel. The topic was not, you know, come and have your sins forgiven.

Having compromised and sinned against God. You know what? If you preach the gospel, even if you compromise and you get an opportunity to eventually preach the gospel, some are going to mock you, some will hear you further, and some will believe.

You know what happens when you don't compromise and God opens an opportunity for you to preach the gospel, some will mock you, some will listen to you further, and some will believe.

So why bother compromising in the first place? Compromising is not going to save anyone.

John MacArthur. And the evangelical church has been so busy over the last 30 years trying to find ways not to offend non -Christians, trying to find ways to take the offenses out of the

Christian message, designing approaches to non -believers that don't create hostility or rejection, that it has created an evangelical movement that is void of the truth.

Why do they do this? Because the gospel in truth is so offensive. It is offensive.

In fact, strange as it may seem, the good news is hated by non -believers.

They think they can improve upon the gospel. They think they can edit the gospel. They think that they can change the gospel and move to another gospel, but there is no other gospel.

There's only one gospel. God's gospel. Yet there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ.

Now, here's where he really, really turns up the heat. But if we or an angel from heaven, listen to this, if we or an angel from heaven preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be on a tamer.

Go find that in the New Testament. Find it. Find the apostles in the book of Acts. You have an entire narrative of the history of the early church in the book of Acts and how the apostles in early church went into the public square, preached the gospel, saw so many come to Christ.

The church formed and grew and it just blew up over the empire. They started riots by being godly troublemakers and preaching the gospel.

And I want you to find me where in the book of Acts the apostles went into a place and said, hey, guys, Jesus loves you.

Find it. You won't. And I would challenge us with this. Maybe our methodology is wrong. Maybe our methodology isn't biblical.

Maybe our methodology and pandering to rebels against God by walking out into the public square and saying, hey, rebel,

Jesus loves you. Maybe that's not the way. Maybe we should proclaim the gospel the way the apostles proclaimed the gospel, where they said things like God commands men everywhere to repent.

They went into a place saying, you're a sinner. This is what Jesus accomplished. He died. He rose again.

He's the king of the earth. Repent and believe the gospel. It came as a command, not as a request.

It is natural for mankind to seek to establish himself as having ultimate authority when you don't want to be in submission to the authority you already know exists, and that is

This next group of popular Christian teachers fall under the category of seeker -sensitive pastors, which would also include many of the prosperity preachers we mentioned earlier, such as Joel Osteen, who create church experiences that are centered around the satisfaction of the people who attend the church rather than around preaching the full, true gospel of Jesus Christ, including the offensive parts about sin, hell, and God's moral law.

There's Stephen Furtick of Elevation Church, who teaches all who attend that God is on their side without any qualifications about repentance and faith.

There's Rick Warren, who believes his job is just to give people what they are already looking for.

So what am I saying? That when we share our hope with other people, what we have to offer people is exactly what everyone is looking for.

There's Andy Stanley, who teaches that God doesn't condemn anyone. And having paid for it, he declared,

I don't condemn you. And then he says to all of us now that I've called sin, sin, paid for it, and said

I don't condemn you. I want you all to leave your life of sin. And if you don't, I love you.

And if you can't, I love you. And if the woundedness and the shrapnel of your own sin has left you to the place where you're not even sure you'll ever be able to walk away from the complexity of your sin,

I love you. There's Brian Houston of Hillsong Church, who teaches that people don't need to be told they're sinners.

And you'll hear people say, you don't preach enough about sin. You don't preach enough about repentance.

But you know, I actually think what they're saying is you don't beat people up enough. You don't have to remind people they're sinners.

They know. You don't have to remind people they fall short not only of God, but of who they would want to be themselves.

You don't have to beat people up. This next group of popular Christian teachers fall under the category of progressive pastors, if we can even call them pastors at all.

They teach some absolutely, unbelievably heretical doctrines. There's Brandon Robertson, perhaps the worst of them all.

Did you know that there's a part of the Gospel of Mark where Jesus uses a racial slur? There's John Pablovitz, who is almost as bad.

God. This next group of pastors are part of the New Apostolic Reformation, or NAR, which is basically the prosperity gospel on steroids because it emphasizes miracles and demanding blessings from God to a much higher degree.
