Where are we in time, as a people, as a nation? You know, I'll tell you one thing, we're in trouble.
00:07
And I'm like, it's our faith, it's what we believe in. If we didn't have that, we wouldn't even be here. We wouldn't even be together.
00:13
Are we Christians? Yes. We are. We love Jesus. Happy Easter, by the way. Happy Easter!
00:19
We die for our sins. You'll already be in pursuit by God, who made you together and called you kids. But you still don't know.
00:26
We live in a culture today where professing Christians like Haley Bieber, Miley Cyrus, and Selena Gomez signed a petition called
00:35
Bans Off Our Bodies that supports abortion rights. The fact that even professing
00:41
Christians think it's morally acceptable to support ending the life of pre -born children points to the fact that American culture and American Christianity is in serious trouble.
00:53
I know that there are things happening in the midst of our society that, you know, if you look at Romans chapter 1, or if you look at history, these are the kind of things that happen toward the end of a society's lifespan, if you will.
01:08
I think unless things change dramatically, that what we're going to see is going to be catastrophic.
01:14
There has always been a spiritual war raging concerning the evil of ending pre -born life.
01:19
But the Supreme Court's overturning of Roe v. Wade opened our eyes to the depth of just how evil people's hearts truly were concerning this atrocity.
01:29
This is a spiritual battle. It's always been a spiritual battle. And I think that we're seeing that more clearly.
01:36
You know, go back to Roe v. Wade. I talked about, you know, that earlier. What's interesting about that is, you know, all of a sudden, when that happened, the gloves came off.
01:46
Oh, yeah. You know? And people were just essentially saying, I can't believe we're not going to be allowed to kill babies anymore.
01:54
Understand this. Understand this. I have seen the world where abortion is illegal.
02:01
And we are not going back. Not ever.
02:10
No. So say it with me. We are not going back. Not ever.
02:18
Not ever. This is not a women's rights issue. It's an issue for all of us.
02:35
You are not the person to make that decision. My doctor and myself and my child, that's who makes the decision.
02:45
Our culture today has shown over and over that it does not care about children.
02:50
It is willing to sacrifice children to serve the God of convenience. And it is willing to ruin children's lives with destructive transgender ideology.
03:01
But those who destroy children's lives in this way will face the intense judgment of God for their sin.
03:09
You know, Christ wasn't really a fire and brimstone kind of guy. But when it came to harming his little ones...
03:16
Better to have a millstone tied around your neck than be thrown into the deepest part of the sea. What makes all of this even more disturbing is just how rapidly our country has progressed in supporting and even celebrating sin that is more and more heinous in God's eyes.
03:33
Homosexuality, abortion, and transgenderism are now completely mainstream ideas to support and celebrate, which would have been unthinkable even just a few years or decades ago.
03:45
Okay, we talk about the whole idea of the millstone, but don't forget Sodom and Gomorrah, right?
03:51
So we've done this before. We've come up to an issue that from a biblical perspective and from a historical perspective was something that was absolutely unthinkable, right?
04:03
And we cross that line. And now, you know, as we sit here, we're having a conversation about another line that we think should never even be approached, let alone crossed.
04:14
But what history tells us is it's only a matter of time before we get to that one.
04:19
But all of this intense opposition from the culture to all that the Bible teaches has a silver lining and purpose.
04:27
The opposition to and persecution of Christians who steadfastly hold to what the
04:32
Bible clearly teaches has helped to separate true Christians from false Christians who were basically just faking it.
04:40
And the Christians who remain faithful now have an opportunity to see God's powerful protection and work in their lives and to be used by God in unprecedented ways.
04:51
I agree with you. It's not until we face pressure and opposition that we actually see what we really believe and what we're really made of.
05:02
And so, you know, these are frightening times. Terrifying. But at the same time, they ought to be hope -filled times for those of us who live with that kind of hope.
05:12
Many Christians today are afraid and ashamed to speak up about what they believe. Or to point people to the
05:19
Bible. However, the incredible irony is that the very people who are fighting against God and celebrating sin are completely unafraid to use the
05:28
Bible to justify their evil agenda. But now, all of a sudden, the other side has absolutely no problem using that language.
05:37
They have no prob... I mean, you know, Gavin Newsom puts Bible verses on billboards advertising for people to come to California to slaughter their babies.
05:48
Right? When, you know, Madam Vice President wanted to encourage everybody to get the jab, she...
05:54
No problem quoting Scripture in order to do that. Right? The President has no problem quoting
05:59
Scripture. And the press doesn't run around with their hair on fire if you do it on the left. They should cause us as Christians to have even more reason to be bold and unashamed about standing upon the
06:11
Bible as our foundation for life and truth. So I think it's important for us to be open and honest about what we believe and where we're coming from.
06:22
But sadly, the reason why so many Christians today fail to stand upon the Bible as their foundation is because they are pseudo -Christians who attend pseudo -churches that do not actually teach the
06:34
Bible and the gospel, but rather a worldly distorted version of the Bible and the gospel.
06:40
When you pray, believe that it happened right there. Not in a week, not in a month, but right when you prayed, things changed in your favor.
06:48
God set the miracle into motion. He wanted me to tell you, God's got your back.
06:58
God's got your back. And on your way to your seat, just tell three people.
07:04
I can't reach them. You can't say. God's got your back. He's absolutely committed and connected to whatever is concerning you.
07:13
God's got your back. Say it. God's got my back.
07:18
Amen. You receive it. God's got my back. And the fact of the matter is, most of the things that go by the name church are not, right?
07:28
But there's a remnant. What this means is that if we want to see a change in our culture, it's not just going to be about the church doing its job of speaking truth to the culture.
07:38
Rather, it's going to have to start with seeing a change within the Christian church itself.
07:45
We need to confront the non -Christian ideologies that have crept into the church. The interesting thing, though, is right now, we need awakening inside as much as, if not more, than outside.
07:58
Over these last couple of years, it's been shocking to see the number of people who have been willing to embrace ideologies that are not just unbiblical but anti -biblical.
08:09
There are so many Christians today who would rather be associated with the world than with Christians who talk about sin and appear judgmental to the world.
08:18
They want to be accepted as good, loving people rather than as narrow -minded, bigoted
08:24
Christians. There's the universal brotherhood of man. There's a group of people out there who are good people.
08:29
And they're good people because they do these sorts of social things. Correct. Right? And the Christians who join the ranks of these good people and do these good social things are good people not because they're
08:41
Christians but in spite of the fact that they are Christians because they've joined this group over here that does these good things.
08:48
And I think what has happened is there are a lot of people who sort of bought into that. Yeah. And that's the face that they want to show.
08:55
These Christians have bought into the lies that social justice is the same as biblical justice and that anti -racism is truly anti -racism.
09:06
They hear the nice -sounding phrases that the world uses without seeing the unbiblical foundations beneath these terms.
09:13
But I think what led people to even entertain this is the subtlety.
09:19
Right? Social justice. If you don't know what that means and you're a Christian you're like, well, yeah.
09:26
Right? Anti -racism. Of course. Right? You know? Can't tell you how many people
09:32
I've had. Racial justice. Yeah. I've had so many conversations with that. The label sounds good just like the
09:39
Inflation Reduction Act. Sounds good. That's not what it is. Sounds really good. Yeah.
09:44
Inflation Reduction Act. Well, what does it do? Not that. Yeah. It causes more inflation.
09:51
So even before we try to reach the culture with the truth of the gospel, we need to work on reaching professing
09:56
Christians within the Christian church with the truth concerning what justice truly is.
10:03
Many Christians have an extremely problematic understanding of racial injustice that equates to racial inequity.
10:09
But those are not at all the same thing. For me, when people start talking about, you know, racial justice, this justice,
10:17
I say, okay, let's back up. Tell me how you're defining injustice. Right? And then when they say, well, we're defining injustice as, you know, disparate outcomes.
10:27
Right? We're not saying that there's, you know, nobody's saying, hey, there's a lunch counter over there.
10:32
Mm -hmm. That's saying that people who look like this or belong there, they can't come to the lunch counter.
10:37
Mm -hmm. Right? Because you and I both know if that's the case, then we posse up and we go. We go. We go. Right? I go with you.
10:43
They're not saying that. They're saying, no, no, no, no, no. There's these disparate outcomes. Right?
10:48
And these outcomes only exist because of the racism that's baked into the system.
10:55
And so we've got to go and deconstruct this and fix these disparate outcomes. I call it chasing ghosts.
11:00
Right? Yeah. And so, you know, that's what I want to know. You tell me what the injustice is, and then
11:06
I'll tell you whether or not I'm going to partner with you in order to correct that injustice. Because what you're defining as injustice may not be injustice at all.
11:14
And it often isn't. So perhaps we can say that the biggest problem in our culture today may not even be the culture itself, but rather the professing
11:24
Christians within the church who lack the right foundation and the truth themselves.
11:30
Because if people who call themselves Christians don't understand the Bible, the gospel, or justice, then how can we expect non -Christians in the culture to understand these things?
11:43
Now, the religious right movement was a powerful movement, but it was based on their ability to get people organized and motivated and out, you know, to vote and whatnot.
11:54
It was a mile wide and half an inch deep. The theological foundations weren't there.
12:00
It was just activism for activism's sake. It was things are bad, we'll give you a voter guide, go vote for the guys that we tell you to vote for, and then we'll turn this thing around because we voted for the right guys.
12:15
And that's not the answer. We have to take every thought captive to obey Christ.
12:21
I don't just need to know who to vote for. I need to know why I'm voting. Instead of seeing the
12:27
Bible as a distraction or as a secondary issue, we need to recognize that the
12:33
Bible's teachings are central to redeeming the depravity of our culture. It's the law that will point lost sinners to their need of a savior, and it's repentance that will change the hearts of the people within a culture.
12:48
We're not coming at that with the law that points us to our need for Christ. And if we're not coming at that with the gospel, right, that shows how what we need is repentance and faith, but instead, church just becomes, like we talked about earlier, just this sort of social institution, right, or some other perversion of this gospel.
