God doesn't just welcome us - He lavishly welcomes us!!!

the gospel, Jesus mirrors the grace of Joseph by welcoming undeserving sinners to the table to receive a generous portion of his spirit as an act of reconciliation and restoration.

In Christ, we are invited to his table so that we may taste and see that the

Lord is good. Can I put it to you that if we rightly understand the gospel, the gospel is an invitation to a lavish welcome.

It's an invitation to a lavish welcome that is paid not with the blood of a or the hard work of a man, excuse me, but with the blood of God's own son.

That's why the Bible can say, if you're taking notes Ephesians 1, 7 and 8, that in Jesus we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses according to the riches of his grace that he richly, some

Bible translations say lavishly poured out on us with all wisdom and understanding.

Christian, can I put it to you that you are not merely welcoming God's family, you have been lavishly welcomed.

And of course we may struggle with that every bit as much as the brothers might have initially struggled with the welcome that they received.

But if we know the Lord Jesus, we have been richly, lavishly, extravagantly welcomed.
