Welcome to another installment of Fighting for the Faith. My name is Chris Roseborough. I am your servant in Jesus Christ, and this is the channel that compares what people are saying in the name of God to the word of God.
00:28
So today we're going to, once again, cover a woman by the name of Charity Calstrip.
00:36
If you go into the archives of Fighting for the Faith on our YouTube channel, I made the claim, and I'll remake the claim in this video, that she has endangered the lives of children, and I would note the theology she's teaching endangers the lives of everybody, children, adults, seniors, it doesn't matter, because Charity Calstrip, as you're about to see, has tested positive for the new thought spiritual virus.
01:06
And if you're not sure what I'm talking about, I'm gonna be referring back to this. Great resource if you want kind of an update on, you wanna know the history and the false teaching and what's wrong with new thought, and all that kind of stuff.
01:21
Again, Melissa Dougherty's book, Happy Lies, is a book that you're going to want to pick up and read and learn and understand and give away to other people and warn them.
01:35
So what we're gonna do today is we're heading back to Choose Life Church, weird name, when in fact, what they're teaching is death.
01:45
I mean, endangering people's physical bodies, endangering their eternal souls, and not bringing them life, but bringing them death, all in the name of Jesus, by the way.
01:57
But like I said, Charity Calstrip is going to test positive for the new thought spiritual virus, which means you gotta isolate from her, you gotta mark and avoid anybody who does and teaches the things that she does and teaches.
02:12
You shouldn't be listening to them at all. Doesn't matter if they're on like a major television, Christian television network.
02:19
In fact, most people on major Christian television networks, you shouldn't be listening to at all because they also have tested positive for the new thought spiritual virus.
02:31
So let me do this. I'm gonna whirl up the desktop. And here's our web browser.
02:37
And the name of this sermon is Keep the Water On. And there's so many different ways that this sermon goes wrong, sermon.
02:49
Number one, she shouldn't be preaching it. Women are not permitted to preach in Christ's church.
02:56
They're not permitted to be pastors. They are not allowed to do this. See 1 Corinthians 14, 1
03:03
Timothy 2 for details. And of course, I've done a very extensive article on this topic called
03:14
The Paul Side Gambit. The Paul Side Gambit. I'll put a link to that down below in the description so that you can see that the
03:23
Apostle Paul didn't say that women can't preach and be pastors because he was the original member of the
03:30
He -Man -Woman Haters Club. Nope, the prohibition for women to preach and to be pastors comes from Christ himself.
03:41
It comes from Jesus all the way up to the top. It's not Paul who's making this, it's
03:47
Jesus. In fact, Paul goes on to say in 1 Corinthians 14, if anyone doesn't recognize that what
03:54
I'm writing to you is a command of the Lord, he shouldn't be recognized. So that being the case, you have a resource now in the link,
04:04
The Paul Side Gambit article that will help you in this regard. Next, we're going to take a look at, well, what else are we gonna do here?
04:13
We haven't even done anything yet. I haven't even hit the play button. What we're gonna do is we're going to listen very carefully to her opening, and I'm gonna put this in air quotes, her opening prayer.
04:26
And one of the ways in which Christians need to develop discernment is to not only pay attention to what people say and do, but also to what they don't say and they don't do.
04:43
You'll note the false doctrine is gonna be done via commission, that people are gonna commit the sin of false doctrine by positively teaching false doctrine.
04:55
And by positive, I'm just saying that they're positing it. I'm not saying that it's a good thing. They are legitimately teaching false doctrine.
05:03
But the other part of it is that oftentimes false doctrines have opposite effects in that they will lead people astray.
05:12
So for instance, one of the things I've said and I'll continue to say is that the false doctrines regarding prayers to the saints, that's a false doctrine.
05:24
You know what it does is it cuts you off from communicating with your actual
05:29
God and the one who is our true intermediary, our mediator, Christ, Jesus himself.
05:37
And so you gotta note then that people who buy into the lie that we can pray to saints, scripture says there's one mediator between God and man, and Christ is our intermediary.
05:48
This is how scripture describes him, flat out. So when you pray to the
05:54
Virgin Mary, when you pray to Saint Joseph to sell your house and things like this, yes, that's a thing by the way, you're not praying to God.
06:02
You're not asking him for anything. So what we're gonna do here, we're gonna start and I'm going to play out here.
06:12
And this is her opening prayer to this sermon titled
06:17
Keep the Water On. And I want you to note what is missing.
06:25
Okay, it may be subtle for some of you, but once you learn how to look for this, you will always be able to spot it.
06:33
So I'm trying to teach you something here as far as like amping up your discernment skills by listening for what is missing.
06:41
So listen carefully to Charity in her opening prayer and see if you can spot what's missing here.
06:49
Father, we love you today. We thank you for your word. We thank you that as well. Now, a little bit of a note, I've sped her up a little bit. I've sped her up just a smidge, just to kind of keep the pace of things moving.
06:59
She is not high on crystal meth. I just want to make that clear. So let me back this up.
07:04
You'll note the speed is a little fast, but you should be able to keep up. Here we go. And his mercy endures forever.
07:10
Hallelujah. Father, we love you today. We thank you for your word. We thank you that as we spend some time with you in this way, the way that you have asked us to in your word, when two on earth are gathered in your name, you are right there.
07:19
We are humbled. We are honored by your presence. We know that you never leave us and you never forsake us, but something supernatural happens around your word.
07:25
And so we thank you, Father God, for the life that it is, the health that it is, the strength that it is even now, not just for those that are here, but those that are watching online.
07:32
I thank you, Father God, that health is springing forth speedily. I thank you for divine insight, for revelation, for instruction and progress.
07:39
Have you figured it out yet, what's missing? Okay. I'll keep, I'm just gonna play a little bit more.
07:46
We'll obviously work our way through this. See if you can spot what's missing here. Okay. Very specific language, because she has tested positive for the new thought spiritual virus.
08:02
Okay. So watch this. In the next steps, God, I thank you for peace that passes all understanding.
08:07
God, I thank you that your joy is our strength. We refuse to worry or have care or anxiety about anything.
08:13
We serve the God who is more than enough. We have access today to your mind, more than enough wisdom, more than enough strength, more than enough resources to get it all done supernaturally in a way that brings glory and honor to you.
08:26
So we thank you. Have you noticed what's missing yet? Something very important is missing. Thank you today for a help.
08:32
We thank you for a lifting, because you are the glory and the lifter of our head. You are our strong tower. So we take our place in your presence today.
08:39
We take our place in your word. We take our place in victory today. We thank you that you're causing us to be victorious today, that today is the day of salvation, that faith is right now.
08:48
And we believe we receive in Jesus name. Amen. Amen. All right. What was missing from that prayer?
08:56
It wasn't even a prayer at all. That's what was missing.
09:02
Let me explain. So in James chapter four, okay, listen carefully to what
09:09
James says. What causes quarrels? What causes fights among you?
09:15
Is it not this, that your passions are at war within you? You desire and you do not have, so you murder, which sounds totally reasonable.
09:27
I'm being facetious. You covet, you cannot obtain, so you fight and you quarrel.
09:33
Watch this, you do not have because you do not ask.
09:41
Now here's the thing. The new thought mind, not mind virus, spiritual virus, the new thought virus, it rewires your thinking so that when you pray, you're not asking for anything because that would be doubt, not faith.
10:04
But I'll show you in just a second how this doesn't square with scripture at all. You do not have because you do not ask.
10:12
You ask and you do not receive because you ask wrongly to spend it on your passions. You adulterous people do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God?
10:23
Okay, so you get the idea. You do not have because you do not ask.
10:29
Now let me show you a little bit of grammar here. In Philippians 4 verses five and six, the apostle
10:35
Paul writes, and I would note, this isn't the only time these words show up in the New Testament.
10:41
This is not an exclusive thing. These words show up throughout the New Testament. It's just that they show up here together, which makes it a little easier to make the point.
10:50
So Paul writes, let your reasonableness be known to everyone. I would note some
10:56
Christians need to write that on a Post -it note and put it on their mirrors and memorize and live accordingly.
11:03
I'm just saying, okay? So let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your what?
11:18
Let requests be made known to God. Now, here's the one thing
11:24
I love, prayer. So let's take a look at what the Greek word for prayer is. Are you ready?
11:30
It's prosuche, and here's its primary definition. A petition addressed to deity.
11:42
Prayer is a petition. A petition that is addressed to God.
11:51
And I would note, since it's a petition addressed to deity, well, golly, that's gonna rule out the
11:58
Virgin Mary. That's gonna rule out St. Joseph. It's gonna rule out St. Teresa also.
12:04
You get the idea here, because Mary isn't a deity. Joseph isn't a deity.
12:11
See? None of the saints of old are deities.
12:18
A prayer is a petition addressed to deity.
12:23
And note, it's a petition. This is why Paul says, let your prayers and supplications with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.
12:35
The only thing we heard from Charity Calstrip is thanksgiving. I thank you,
12:40
Lord, that you are giving us healing, that you are giving us prosperity, that you are giving us blessing. I thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you.
12:47
She didn't ask for anything. But note, it says by prayer and supplication. Now, supplication is kind of a fancy Greek word too, but let me show you what that is.
12:57
What's the difference between a prayer and a supplication? Answer, urgency. So, deesis is our
13:04
Greek word here. So, a supplication is an urgent request to meet a need exclusively addressed to God.
13:14
An urgent what? Request. So, if a friend of yours is in an auto accident and in the
13:21
ICU and they're getting ready to undergo surgery and it's questionable as to whether or not they will survive the surgery, but they need the surgery in order to live.
13:31
And if they don't have the surgery, they're gonna die and everyone's in anxiety. Oh no, what are we gonna do? That's more than a prayer, that's a supplication.
13:40
But the thing that's common between them both is that they are requests.
13:46
They are petitions. And so, what Charity did in her opening prayer was just offer thanksgiving.
13:55
But note, it says with thanksgiving. So, you'll note, those exposed to and are carriers of the new thought spiritual virus, they don't ask
14:08
God for things. They decree, they declare.
14:16
They thank God for the things that he gives, but they don't ask.
14:25
But scripture says, you have not because you ask not.
14:31
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer, which is a petition to deity,
14:37
God, and supplication, urgent request, being exclusively to God.
14:43
With thanksgiving, let your what requests be made known to God. And you'll note, the core doctrine of new thought is that your deity, that you co -create with Christ, is that your words create reality and stuff, right?
15:03
And so, isn't it interesting that Charity here in her opening prayer couldn't ask
15:10
God for anything? You have not because you ask not.
15:17
Let me just back it up just a little bit, just so you can just get a sample. Here we go. Today for a help, we thank you for a lifting because you are.
15:23
I thank you for help. Thank you for a lifting. Shout out to Kozar. You are the glory and the lifter of our head.
15:29
You are our strong tower. So we take our place in your presence today. We take our place in your word. We take our place in victory today.
15:35
We thank you that you're causing us to be victorious today. She's not asking God for victory.
15:41
She's just thanking God that you're causing us to be victorious. But the scripture says with thanksgiving.
15:47
The only thing she's offering is thanksgiving with no requests, no prayer, no petitions, no supplications.
15:57
Okay? That, if you are attending a church and your pastor can't even ask
16:04
God for anything, chances are really good that pastor has tested positive for the new thought spiritual virus.
16:13
Run. Get away. Because this false teaching, this doctrine from the pit of hell cuts off communication with God.
16:25
So you're not asking him for anything. And so sneaky, super subtle.
16:31
And so hopefully now you've figured out, okay, we gotta pay attention to not only what people say, but also what they don't say.
16:38
That tells you a lot. Let's keep going here. Amen, amen. I want you to title your notes as we look into the word of God quickly before we turn into prayer, turn into a time of prayer.
16:47
Keep the water on. Okay, so the name of her message is keep the water on.
16:52
And here's where I'm going to need to give you an analogy to evaluate what she's doing.
17:00
She's not going to be going to a particular passage and doing a deep dive on what the text says, and then also what it means.
17:11
Instead, what she's going to be engaging in is something called proof texting, where she takes a verse or a sentence or half a sentence out of context, and then takes another sentence out of context and sticks the two together, okay?
17:27
The analogy that I've used in the past, this is a pop bead necklace.
17:33
What a beautiful necklace this is, right? And this is a great metaphor for the theology that she's spinning.
17:40
The theology that she's spinning is nowhere found in Scripture.
17:46
Nope, it just doesn't exist. The way she concocted it is by taking this verse out of context and then taking another verse out of context and then another verse out of context and then pop, pop, pop, putting them all together.
18:00
And look at the beautiful theology she's created. The Bible is not meant to be used this way at all.
18:07
So she's not going to be exegeting. She's going to be proof texting. And you need to be paying attention to how she's doing it because there are other false teachers out there that are not part of the new thought spiritual cult who also engage in the same technique.
18:25
When people do this, run away. You have to be able to show in context what a passage says and what
18:33
God meant by having this passage penned and then look for valid cross -references that help us understand the doctrine that's in play, okay?
18:44
That's not what she's going to do. So here we go. Keep the water on is the name of her message.
18:50
Okay, let's see how she handles the text. And you're going to see here, it's out of context proof verses strung together to create something that isn't even taught in scripture.
19:00
Here we go. Keep the water on. Now, I don't know about you, but I frequently get encouraged in my home because I'll turn the water on and then walk away to do other things and leave the water running.
19:09
Sometimes I'm warming it up and sometimes I just flat forget. And so, here's the thing. As it pertains to the water that we're referring to, we're talking about Ephesians 5, verse 26, that we're cleansed with the washing of the water of the word.
19:22
We want to be. Okay, now a little bit of a note here. Let's take a look at Ephesians 5, okay?
19:27
It's because the phrase the washing of water in the word comes in in this text, but it has a particular context.
19:35
So you're going to note Ephesians 5 begins with verse 22. Wives submit to your own husbands as to the
19:41
Lord. The husband is the head of the wife. He is Christ, is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its savior.
19:48
Now, as the church submits to Christ, so also wives, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands.
19:55
And here we go with the next part. Husbands, love your wives, and then watch this.
20:01
So, how is a Christian husband supposed to love her wife? Okay? There's a very specific way.
20:09
And it says, as Christ loved the church. Husbands, you are to love your wives.
20:15
Christian husbands, you are to love your wives the exact same way that Jesus loved his bride, the church.
20:22
And what did he do for her? He gave himself up for her so that he might sanctify her.
20:28
So, sanctify her. Now, a little bit of a note here. The word for sanctify, you'll note that in Christianity we have lingo, we have words.
20:37
It's like going to Starbucks. I'd like to order a double -pump espresso macchiato venti.
20:44
You have to learn a whole new language to order coffee at Starbucks. Christianity's similar.
20:51
We actually have biblical words that we need to understand. So, the word here is sanctify, and the question is, what does it mean?
20:58
So, the Greek word is hagiazo. And so, let's take a look at some of its meanings.
21:05
To set aside something or to make it suitable for ritual purposes, to consecrate or to dedicate, that's one definition.
21:13
To treat as holy, to reverence, to eliminate that which is incompatible with holiness, to purify.
21:23
So, there's our definition, to eliminate that which is incompatible with holiness.
21:29
That's really what's going on in this passage. To sanctify her is to make the church holy, to purify her.
21:39
God is in the process of purifying his bride, the church. So, that's what it means. So, that he might sanctify her, having what?
21:47
Cleansed her by the washing of water with the word. What is that a reference to? It's very clear what this is a reference to.
21:54
It's a reference to baptism. Having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, this is a reference to baptism.
22:02
But Charity here, completely oblivious to what's going on here, because number one, she's not qualified to be a pastor.
22:09
Number two, clearly she has not studied and showed herself approved. Number three, she is under the influence of a demonic doctrine.
22:19
The New Thought virus. You'll see more about this here.
22:25
So, she has completely missed the point. The name of her sermon is Keep the Water On. Okay, and then she uses some personal analogy to how she sometimes likes to leave the water on to warm it up, don't we all?
22:41
But, then she references Ephesians five here. Completely out of context, and what is she doing?
22:48
Pop beads. She's just stringing together things. Okay, let's keep going. About Ephesians five, verse 26, that we're cleansed with the washing of the water of the word.
22:57
We wanna be productive, and today, we're kicking off this week, Monday, first thing, with our responsibility to be productive.
23:03
What does the washing of water with the word have to do with productivity?
23:10
Answer, it doesn't have anything to do with it at all. How did she draw that connection?
23:17
I don't know. It's one of the great mysteries of the universe because there is no sound exegete that's ever made this connection, ever.
23:27
Charity is the first to do it in all of Christian history, and the reason why she's made that connection is because she doesn't know how to rightly handle
23:36
God's word. We continue. Part in that, and so we want to, by illustrating and using this phrase, keep the water on, intensify, and increase in our productivity.
23:45
Does everybody? Keep the water on, intensify, and increase in productivity. On earth.
23:54
This is nonsense. This is gobbledygook. Sound excited about that, yes. All right, First Corinthians three, verses six through seven will be.
24:01
Okay, so First Corinthians three, verses six through seven. If I were to go there in my Bible program, would
24:08
I be able to say, oh yes, I can see the connection between Ephesians five about washing, you know, the washing of water in the word, and productivity, and First Corinthians three, six through seven is just right in line with those ideas.
24:26
Let's take a look. Kind of let's take a look ahead of her, okay? First Corinthians three. Now, verses six through seven are down here, okay?
24:36
But here's the thing. The three rules for sound biblical exegesis are context, context, and context.
24:45
So let's take a look at the actual context of First Corinthians three, six, and seven, so that we can know what this passage is about.
24:54
And we'll see if charity is handling this correctly, okay?
25:00
So Paul writes to the church of Corinth. But I, brothers, I could not address you as spiritual people, but as people of the flesh.
25:08
As infants in Christ, I fed you with milk. And even now you are not yet ready, for you are still of the flesh.
25:16
For while there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not of the flesh and behaving only in a human way?
25:25
For when one says, I follow Paul, and another says, well, I follow
25:31
Apollos, are you not being merely human?
25:38
What then is Apollos? So note the problem here is there's strife and conflict at the church of Corinth over who they follow.
25:48
You know, some people say, well, I'm following Paul, and the other one says, I'm following Apollos, and Paul's like, ah, okay.
25:56
What then is Apollos? What is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, as the
26:03
Lord assigned to each. I planted, Apollos watered, so note,
26:09
Paul planted the church at Corinth. Apollos watered, he's most likely the pastor of the congregation there in Corinth.
26:18
Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only
26:25
God who gives the growth. He who plants and he who waters are one. Each will receive his wages according to his labor, for we are
26:32
God's fellow workers. You are God's field, you are God's building.
26:38
Let me continue with this context. According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder, I laid a foundation.
26:45
And someone else is building upon it, Apollos is. So let each one take care how he builds upon it.
26:52
No one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ, okay?
26:57
Now I could continue, but you have a really good idea, just by looking at the context, reading back some verses, reading ahead some verses, you know what this passage is about, right?
27:08
You've got it worked out, it's not that hard. This isn't rocket surgery. So Charity here is talking about leaving the water on, the washing of water with the word, having something to do with increasing your productivity.
27:24
Okay, and she says she's excited about that, and then she's going to talk about 1
27:32
Corinthians 3, six through seven. How much would you like to wager with me that she's going to completely twist this text and ignore what it says and what it actually means?
27:46
We back this up, listen again. Want to, by illustrating and using this phrase, keep the water on, intensify, and increase in our productivity.
27:53
Does everybody sound excited about that? Yes, all right, 1 Corinthians 3, verses six through seven will be our context today for these thoughts.
28:00
In the Amplified Classic, it reads, I planted, Paul said, what did he plant? The seed of the word of God. We're talking about the seed of the word of God.
28:07
Paul said, I planted, Apollos watered. Say, keep the water on. Apollos came and watered, but God, all the while, was making it grow, and he gave the increase.
28:16
So it's neither he who plants that is anything, or he who waters, but only God, who makes it to grow and become.
28:22
By the way, if somebody's quoting from the Amplified or the Amplified Classic and teaching from it, run, that's not even a sound translation at all.
28:34
Greater, say, I'm here to grow. Once you make Jesus the Lord of your life, if there was not a part, a part to experience.
28:40
Okay, now, let me back this up so you can see what she's doing. She's basically wanting to zero in on this concept that Paul planted the word of God, and so she's now going to add another bead to the necklace of false theology that she's creating, okay?
28:59
And so she cares nothing about what the text says or means in context.
29:06
She just wants to get this idea, oh, Paul planted the seed of the word of God, and Apollos watered it, so we need to keep the water on.
29:15
Why productivity, apparently. This is nuts. Or he who waters, but only
29:20
God, who makes it to grow and become greater. Say, I'm here to grow. Once you make Jesus the
29:25
Lord of your life, if there was not a part, a part to experience, a part to enjoy here and now, and then that affect other people, then we would go immediately into glory.
29:35
We would go immediately to heaven. Says what biblical text? Now, you gotta note here, she's not exegeting this passage.
29:41
She's just offering up her speculations. Well, this would be the case of what would happen based upon my understanding of how the world operates, but no text says what she's saying.
29:54
Now she's theologizing out of thin air. So there's a fun time to, this is a good time to be alive.
30:01
It's good to be saved on earth, wherever you are, because you get to see the miraculous power of God that you received in salvation be manifested through your life.
30:09
It's not hard. His yoke is easy and his burden is light. I get to see the salvation of God manifested in my life?
30:17
What exactly do you mean by that? Now, a little bit of a note here. I want to remind you of this woman and what we've covered in the past.
30:27
She is dangerous. And in the first 50 -ish seconds, first minute of this message, you're going to hear new thought, but you're going to also hear her chastise.
30:44
This, by the way, this was a message that was delivered to a youth group and she shames a child for having an allergic reaction, but how she shames them is unbelievable.
31:02
And I would note that endangers people's lives. Listen carefully. Promised land for you, but without taking actionable and intentional steps, you'll never lay hold of it.
31:12
You're already here. So the teaching is, and it starts really quick, Jesus already purchased the promised land for you, but without taking actionable, intentional steps, you will never lay hold of it.
31:24
You're already blessed. You're already free. I'm just struggling with mental problems. And we kind of thought that, but you don't have to keep struggling, right?
31:34
Have you ever had a conversation with somebody and you're thinking, wow, this got a lot going on. You've got a lot of thoughts going on up there, right?
31:40
You don't have to struggle. You don't have to struggle, but you have to take the actionable steps in order to receive everything that Jesus paid for.
31:48
You don't have to be sick. You don't have to be sick? What?
31:54
I just have allergies. I'm just telling your leader. I've just always had, one time, who? When we were playing at the park, somebody had an allergy to grass.
32:02
We needed to probably know that. If you weren't gonna stand in your healing, you can't go to the city park and play like all the, broke out, hives.
32:09
If you're not gonna stand in your healing, you need to let us know.
32:16
Who's she blaming for the allergy outbreak? A child. Because the child wasn't standing in her healing.
32:29
I'm telling you, it's just a matter of time before one of the kids at Choose Life Church dies by believing this nonsense.
32:41
This is not Christian doctrine. This is not what the scriptures teach. And to literally shame a child for having an allergic reaction, oh, well, this child wasn't standing in her healing.
32:56
Angering is a good word at this point. So you gotta know, this is where we're at now in this sermon, is that same theology manifesting again.
33:06
Let me back it up just a little bit and continue. Earth, wherever you are, because you get to see the miraculous power of God that you received in salvation be manifested through your life.
33:14
It's not hard, his yoke is easy, and his burden is light. So what does the seed of the word of God produce for you?
33:21
Well, it produces. So notice what she did. She doesn't care about the context of 1 Corinthians 3, not at all.
33:26
She just wanted to get this concept. Paul planted and the Paulus watered. What did he plant?
33:32
The seed of the word of God. We just need that phrase so that I can then, well, add another bead to the theology
33:40
I'm spinning. This is called proof texting, okay? She's not actually teaching what the scriptures say.
33:48
She's just stringing together a bunch of out -of -context passages that actually aren't teaching on the same thing, and she's creating her own theology, and it's this pop bead necklace.
33:59
That's what she's doing. Produces for you, number one, personally, and it's to produce your destiny. So when you -
34:05
So the seed of the word produces for you personally your destiny says what biblical text?
34:17
I'm not familiar with any passage that says the seed of the word produces my destiny.
34:26
It doesn't exist. She's lying. That's not true. But note, it sounds like she's teaching something biblical because she found the text in 1
34:36
Corinthians 3 that said seed, I planted and the Paulus watered, so therefore this has got to be biblical, right?
34:45
Wrong. She's completely ignoring the context of this passage, and she's creating her own.
34:51
It's made out of cheap plastic, too. It ain't worth nothing. We continue. First and foremost, encounter the word of God.
34:58
All that he is, Romans 8, 11 says, the same spirit that raised Jesus from the dead comes to live on the inside of you.
35:05
Yeah, that's the Holy Spirit, right. You receive and you become thoroughly furnished in him with everything necessary, with the grace needed to be a success, healing.
35:16
Wait a second here. Let me back this up. Romans 8, 11. Let's see if we can take a look at that passage, okay?
35:24
She said Romans 8, 11. I'm going to go here, duplicate this tab, and we're gonna go to Romans 8.
35:32
Romans 8. Romans 8, 11. Okay, so let's apply our three rules for sound biblical exegesis.
35:41
Context, context, context. There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
35:50
Beautifully said, by the way. Read Romans 7 to get more of the context.
35:55
Paul lamenting the fact that he still has a sinful nature. For the law of the spirit of life has set you free in Christ from the law of sin and death.
36:02
For God has done what the law weakened by the flesh could not do. By sending his own son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemns sin in the flesh in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who walk not according to the flesh but according to the spirit.
36:21
For those who live according to the flesh, they set their minds on the things of the flesh. Those who live according to the spirit, they set their minds on the things of the spirit.
36:30
For to set the mind on the flesh is death. To set the mind on the spirit is life and peace.
36:36
For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God. It does not submit to God's law, indeed it cannot.
36:43
Those who are in the flesh cannot please God. You're gonna note this has nothing to do with what she's talking about, right?
36:49
But notice he continues. So you, however, you are not in the flesh but you are in the spirit if in fact the spirit of God dwells in you.
36:57
And all who are in Christ, yes, spirit of God dwells in them. Anyone who does not have the spirit of Christ does not belong to him.
37:04
But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the spirit of life is life because of righteousness.
37:13
If the spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, and he does, if you are a
37:18
Christian, he who raised Jesus Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his spirit who dwells in you.
37:26
Pretty straightforward stuff, okay? We now know what this passage is about. And let me just back this up a little bit, see what
37:33
Charity's doing with it. Again, I'm convinced that she's just adding another bead out of context to this lovely plastic necklace that she's making.
37:44
God, all that he is, Romans 8, 11 says the same spirit that raised Jesus from the dead comes to live on the inside of you.
37:52
Yeah, that's true, but the way he said it is not the same tense.
37:59
If the spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, and he does, he who raised
38:05
Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his spirit who dwells in you. That's a reference to the resurrection.
38:12
We continue. You receive and you become thoroughly furnished in him with everything necessary, with the grace needed to be a success, healing.
38:20
The thing that Paul was referring to is the resurrection of our own bodies.
38:26
So this is, Romans 8, 11 isn't promising me success. Isn't promising me health.
38:33
Isn't promising me prosperity. What are you talking about? So note here, she's added another bead to her pop bead plastic necklace, and out of context verses, and the point is is that the theology that this necklace creates is not a biblical theology at all.
38:51
And now she's, now that she's convinced everybody, oh, she's really teaching what the Bible teaches.
38:57
No, she ain't. She's completely twisting the word. Now she's going to start isogeting, adding things into the biblical text that are not there at all.
39:08
Listen again. Be furnished in him with everything necessary, with the grace needed to be a success, healing, prosperity, peace, everything that Jesus paid for, all of the blessings.
39:18
Where in scripture does it say that Christians are going to have prosperity? You know,
39:24
I just, I ask the question because, you know, Jesus says some interesting things.
39:29
So for instance, lay up. I'm just going to look here.
39:34
Oh, check this out. Jesus talks about this. Matthew six, do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.
39:55
Oh, hmm, okay. You know that text we were looking at in James?
40:02
I wonder if he talks about the rich at all here. Here we go.
40:10
Let me do this. I'm going to look for the word rich in the epistles. R -I -C -H, okay. And I'm going to, let's go epistles here.
40:21
Yeah, let's see. Come, ah, it's James five. Let's take a look at this passage.
40:26
See what this says. Come now, you rich, weep and howl for the miseries that are coming upon you.
40:35
Your riches have rotted, your garments are moth -eating, your gold and your silver have corroded, and their corrosion will be evidence against you and will eat your flesh like fire.
40:45
You have laid up treasure in the last days. Behold, the wages of your laborers who mowed your fields which you kept back by fraud and are crying out against you and the cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the
40:58
Lord of hosts. You have lived on the earth in luxury and in self -indulgence, you've fattened your hearts in a day of slaughter.
41:05
You have condemned and murdered the righteous person. He does not resist you. And then
41:11
I think about this other passage that just comes up like Proverbs chapter 30.
41:17
Let's see here. Proverbs 30, we have an actual prayer that is,
41:25
I think, offered for our instruction is best way I can put it. Let's see here.
41:31
Every word of God proves true. Here we go. Proverbs 30, verse seven. Okay, so this is a prayer to God.
41:39
Are you ready? Two things I ask of you. Who are we asking? We're asking
41:44
God. Deny them not to me before I die. Okay. Remove far from me falsehood and lying and give me neither poverty nor riches.
41:58
Feed me with the food that is needful for me lest I be full and deny you and say, who is
42:07
Yahweh? Or lest I be poor and steal and profane the name of my
42:13
God. Hmm. And then, you know, I think of the prayer that Jesus taught us.
42:19
You know, I'm just kind of riffing here. Let's see here.
42:25
Jesus taught us a prayer. Let's see here. Are you ready? Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be your name.
42:32
Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Now watch this. Give us this day our daily bread.
42:44
Did Jesus tell us to pray for a bank account filled to the brim with bazillions of dollars and on his death on the cross offer us prosperity?
42:57
Jesus taught us to pray daily. Give us this day our what?
43:06
Daily bread. This comports then with Proverbs chapter 30. So this woman is totally teaching falsehood.
43:18
100%. And believe me when I'm telling you, it ain't hard to show that this is just a house of cards that she's built.
43:29
And the problem is the people under her teaching believe that God wants them to be healthy and prosperous and all this kind of stuff.
43:37
And that these are promises associated with Jesus's death on the cross.
43:43
Not in this life, lady. We all have death coming to us. Let's keep going.
43:48
And you become thoroughly furnished in him with everything necessary, with the grace needed to be a success, healing, prosperity, peace, everything that Jesus paid for.
43:57
All of the blessings of Abraham now are accessible to us, the Gentile church through. What are the blessings of Abraham?
44:04
You just reference it without telling us what they are. Faith by grace. It's a big deal. So the seed of the word of God first and foremost is for you.
44:12
Everyone say for me. But then it's to grow and work through your life, manifesting your destiny.
44:17
We tell young people. The word of God is supposed to manifest my destiny? Says what biblical text?
44:24
People and students and teenagers all the time. You're not to decide what you're gonna be. You're not to decide.
44:30
You don't have to decide. And don't accept the pressure from the world to feel like you have to decide. No, in him, you can discover your destiny.
44:38
And what God has called you. Says what biblical text? None of the texts you're saying say that. And we're not promised a destiny, by the way.
44:46
Here's another passage. Important one, Ephesians 2. Watch what this says, okay?
44:52
We're all familiar with verses eight and nine. For by grace, you have been saved through faith. This is not your own doing.
44:59
It's the gift of God. It is not the result of work so that no one may boast. And here we go. For we are his workmanship.
45:07
That's God's workmanship. Created in Christ Jesus for what? A destiny.
45:14
No, for good works. Which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
45:23
What's a good work? See the rest of the book of Ephesians. It lays out what our good works are.
45:29
Start at the beginning of chapter five. And you'll get it, okay?
45:35
Doesn't say anything about a destiny. It's we are created in Christ Jesus for good works. And our good works are done throughout our entire life.
45:45
Not just during our adulthood. They are done as children. They are done as young adults.
45:51
They are done as newlyweds. They are done as parents. They're done as grandparents.
45:57
And even people in nursing homes, they can do good works. There isn't a singular destiny that we are called to.
46:04
We are created in Christ Jesus for good works. That's what the text says.
46:11
We continue. To do, that's your part. Romans 11 29 says the gifts and the callings of God are without repentant.
46:18
Meaning. Okay, let's take a look at Romans 11 29. In context.
46:24
Oh, the gifts and calling of God are irrevocable. Is that talking about a destiny that God's supposed to be giving you in this lifetime that you don't need to seek after.
46:33
It's just gonna come and find you. Romans 11 25 says, lest you be wise in your own sight.
46:42
I do not want you to be unaware of this mystery brothers. A partial hardening has come upon Israel until the fullness of the
46:49
Gentiles has come in. And in this way, all Israel will be saved. As it is written, the deliverer will come from Zion.
46:56
He will banish ungodliness from Jacob. And this will be my covenant with them when I take away their sins.
47:03
Ah, the gospel. Now as regards to the gospel, they. He's talking about the descendants of Abraham genetically.
47:13
They are enemies for your sake. But as regards for election, they are beloved for the sake of their forefathers.
47:19
For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. For just as you were at one time disobedient to God, but now have received mercy because of their disobedience, so they too have now been disobedient in order that by the mercy shown to you, they also may now receive mercy.
47:35
For God has consigned all to disobedience, that he may have mercy on all.
47:41
So the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable is talking about what?
47:49
God's love. The fact that even the enemies of Christ who are genetically the descendants of Abraham, they are beloved for the sake of their forefathers, right?
48:02
That's the point. It doesn't say anything about your destiny here. The context has to do with the state of genetic descendants of Abraham who don't believe in Jesus.
48:13
Is that weird? What she's doing here, again, she just added another bead to her lovely pop bead plastic necklace of theology here made from out of context
48:23
Bible verses. We continue. He does not change his mind about you. He's got a good plan for you.
48:29
He's got a great plan for you. He already decided about it before the foundation of time. So you don't have to decide.
48:34
You simply have to discover. In 2 Corinthians 1 20, the Bible says, for as many as are the promises of God, they all find their answer in yes, in him.
48:43
For this reason. Again, another bead here, 2 Corinthians 1 20.
48:50
Good grief. I'm getting exhausted trying to keep up with this lady. 2 Corinthians 1, here's our context.
48:59
Because I was sure of this, I wanted to come to you first so that you might have a second experience of grace.
49:04
I wanted to visit you on my way to Macedonia and to come back to you from Macedonia and have you send me on my way to Judea.
49:13
Was I vacillating when I wanted to do this? Do I make my plans according to the flesh, saying ready to say yes, yes, and no, no at the same time?
49:24
Well, as surely as God is faithful, our word to you has been yes and no for the son of God, Jesus Christ, whom we proclaimed among you,
49:34
Silvanus and Timothy and I, was not yes and no, but in him it is always yes.
49:40
For all the promises of God find their yes in him, in Christ. That is why it is through him that we utter our amen to God for his glory.
49:50
So out of context for sure, but it's true that all the promises of God find their yes in him, which then begs the question, what are the actual promises of God?
50:04
Has God promised you in this lifetime prosperity? Has God promised you in this lifetime divine health?
50:14
Nope, not at all. So what Charity is doing here is demonic, it's deceitful, and she's just added another bead to her necklace, but we continue.
50:24
Reason, we also utter the amen, or so be it, to God through him in his person and by his agency to the glory of God.
50:30
So all of his promises are yes. So Brother Hagin would say it this way, There it is,
50:36
Brother who? Brother Hagin. Now here's where I'm gonna make a plug.
50:42
Daniel C, Daniel Chapman, okay? On his YouTube channel, we're gonna put a video to this, link to this video down below called
50:52
The Victims of Kenneth E. Hagin, The Untold Truth. If you have not watched this, you need to watch this.
50:59
The fact that Charity Kallstrom would call Kenneth Hagin Brother Hagin proves beyond a shadow of doubt that she is completely symptomatic with the illness known as New Thought, the spiritual disease, okay?
51:19
This is a woman who is praising an arch heretic, and if you have not watched this video,
51:28
The Victims of Kenneth E. Hagin, The Untold Truth, you need to see it. And here's where I'll also, again, plug again.
51:37
Melissa Doherty's book, Happy Lies. You need to read this book. The two resources together, we'll put a link to Melissa's book down below.
51:46
The two resources together, this one free, the other her book, are gonna open your eyes and make you realize, holy guacamole, this woman is teaching doctrines of demons.
51:59
That's exactly right, she is. But you need to be able to understand that for yourself, which is why you need to watch
52:06
Daniel's video, read Melissa's book. And when you see the scriptures unpacked correctly against this stuff, you're gonna realize there's a reason why this woman chastised and shamed a child for having an allergic reaction, because she refused to walk in her healing, right?
52:26
Because she is a purveyor. And somebody out there peddling a false gospel altogether, different Jesus, different spirit, different gospel.
52:36
Let me back this up just a little bit and we'll continue. Glory of God. So all of his promises are yes. So Brother Hagan would say it this way,
52:43
Kenneth E. Hagan would say it this way, in teaching one of the most incredible faith teachers of our time, he said. Most amazing heretic of our time, most damaging, damnable heretic of our time.
52:53
This way, don't harden your heart by waiting. Don't harden your heart by waiting. We're not waiting on God.
53:00
Now the seed takes time to grow. There's a difference in waiting for things to grow because that law will never expire,
53:06
Genesis 8 .22. But the reality is it's mine today. Possession and fulfillment are two different things, right?
53:13
If you've ever purchased a toy. She's not preaching a biblical text. If you've ever purchased a toy, which biblical text talks about God's promises in this way?
53:23
For a child. I remember one of my favorite gifts as a child was my Barbie dream house. And I was so excited.
53:30
And I know that it was work to put it together because it had an elevator, it had three stories. It was like the whole thing.
53:36
And I know that my mom and dad stayed up late to put that thing together because it didn't come like that, right?
53:42
So possession is not fulfillment because possession is a bunch of little pieces in a big box.
53:47
And I guarantee you, my mom was, she was putting in the work and my dad was sitting there making her laugh and being like crunchy about it.
53:54
I promise you, this is how it unfolded. Drinking coffee. How much longer? What's happening? What do we need?
54:00
Don't they come different? Don't they come already assembled? And that's what so much of the church wants. They want it already assembled. They want it already assembled.
54:07
But here's the thing, we - Prosperity and healing, we want it already assembled.
54:13
Lady, Christ doesn't promise that to us in this lifetime. Had it. We had possession of that Barbie dream house.
54:20
See, you take possession in prayer. Sorry, I've never, no. I've never owned a
54:25
Barbie dream house and will never. My child, my daughters did, but not me.
54:32
So yeah, I'll never take possession of a Barbie dream house. What a load of nonsense.
54:40
How much of the church wants? They want it already assembled. They want it already assembled. But here's the thing, we had it.
54:46
We had possession of that Barbie dream house. See, you take possession in prayer, but you got to work with it.
54:52
You got to work out your salvation. You're not ever - Which biblical text teaches what it is you're actually saying?
54:59
Even Philippians isn't talking about what you're talking about. You're trying to get the promises of God. You're not ever trying to get health.
55:05
You have health. And the enemies tried to take something from you. Where in scripture does it say, I have health?
55:14
I possess it, but I don't have it. Or I have it, I don't. Where in scripture does it say this regarding health?
55:21
You're not trying to get rich. Himself took on poverty, Jesus did, so that you could be rich. You're not trying to get wealth.
55:26
You already have wealth. It's your job. Talking about Jesus becoming poor, that's for our salvation, lady.
55:34
And in the world to come, you'll note that the streets of Jerusalem are described as being paved with gold.
55:42
In the world to come, we are rich beyond our wildest imagination.
55:47
We'll never be in poverty or lack ever again, for sure. But that's not promised in this lifetime now.
55:58
Not even close. So she's saying that all of this you already have, and it's up to you to manifest it.
56:07
Job to manifest it. It's your job. Even in the several ways that are. I'm gonna back this up so you can hear it in context.
56:13
Watch what she says. You're not ever trying to get health. You have health. And the enemies tried to take something from you. You're not trying to get rich.
56:19
Himself took on poverty, Jesus did, so that you could be rich. You're not trying to get wealth. You already have wealth.
56:25
It's your job to manifest it. It's your job. So you already have wealth. It's your job to manifest wealth.
56:33
Then why did Jesus teach us to pray, give us this day our daily bread? Why does Proverbs 30 say, give me neither poverty nor riches?
56:42
Why does scripture so, so severely scold and chastise those who are rich and have their minds on the things of the here and now?
56:54
And Jesus himself says, don't lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, but treasures in heaven. The scriptures contradict everything this woman is saying, and nowhere in scripture says, you have health, you have wealth, and it's your job to manifest it.
57:12
Where did she get this nonsense from? The new thought heresy as taught by Kenneth Hagan.
57:21
That's where she got it from. This woman is dangerous beyond all reason.
57:28
She is endangering the lives of everybody listening to her because here's the thing, that's a fairly large church there at Choose Life Church.
57:37
And when people get sick, and they will, or when they have chronic illnesses, and they will, and when people there get terminal illnesses, and they will because it's a large church, what's gonna happen?
57:51
They're going to despair. They're going to despair because they are utterly powerless to stop their bodies from being sick, or even their bodies from dying because this isn't what's promised.
58:08
Instead, we are promised something very important. In 1 Corinthians 15, talking about the resurrection of the dead, it's very important.
58:21
It says this, okay? Some will ask, how are the dead raised?
58:27
With what kind of body do they come? You foolish person, what you sow does not come to life unless it dies.
58:34
And what you sow is not the body that is to be, but a bare kernel, perhaps of weed or of some other grain.
58:40
But God gives it a body as he has chosen, and to each kind of seed its own body.
58:46
For not all flesh is the same, but there is one kind for humans, another for animals, another for birds, another for fish.
58:52
There are heavenly bodies, there are earthly bodies. But the glory of the heavenly is of one kind, and the glory of the earthly is of another.
58:59
There is one glory of the sun, another glory of the moon, another glory of the stars, for stars differ from star and glory.
59:06
So it is with the resurrection of the dead. What is sown is perishable.
59:15
The scriptures teach that the wages of sin is death, and that the body that you are presently in is perishable.
59:23
That's why we die. What is raised is imperishable.
59:29
There's where the health is. It is sown in dishonor. It is raised in glory.
59:35
It is sown in weakness. It is raised in power. It is sown a natural body.
59:41
It is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, and there is, there is also a spiritual body.
59:47
Thus it is written, the first man, Adam, became a living being. The last, Adam, became a life -giving spirit.
59:52
But it is not the spiritual that is first, but the natural and then the spiritual. The first man was from the earth, a man of dust.
01:00:00
The second man is from heaven, as was the man of the dust, so also are those who are of the dust.
01:00:06
That's you and I. And as is the man of heaven, so also are those who are of heaven.
01:00:11
Just as we have born the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the man of heaven.
01:00:18
So I tell you this, brothers, flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.
01:00:25
Behold, I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed in a moment when in the twinkling of an eye at the last trumpet for the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.
01:00:38
For this perishable body, that's the one you have, must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality.
01:00:49
When the perishable puts on the imperishable and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying, what is that is written, death is swallowed up in victory.
01:00:59
Oh, death, where is your victory? Oh, death, where is your sting? So note, when this happens, you have perfect health for eternity because you're raised imperishable.
01:01:10
And to the riches of the new earth, in a world without end, you get the idea.
01:01:16
So all of this nonsense that this lady is spewing, and it's nonsense, is dangerous and endangers the lives and the souls of everyone who listens to her.
01:01:27
This is what the scriptures warned us about, that in the last days that people would abandon sound teaching and they would listen to deceiving spirits and believe in doctrines of demons.
01:01:41
The new thought heresy is not from the scriptures, it's from the Gnostics, and you need to keep that in mind.
