- 00:01
- This is why abortion is still legal. The failed methods of pro -life crisis pregnancy centers.
- 00:06
- There are many good things pregnancy centers do, don't get me wrong. Ultrasounds, prenatal care, pregnancy, STD testing, they also help moms who are considering abortion with diapers, toys, cribs, rocking chairs, take care of their other physical needs.
- 00:20
- No one can take away from the fact that they do good things. But what's the problem? Well, many pro -life pregnancy centers, despite their claim, aren't actually
- 00:27
- Christian. Here's a few solid reasons why. Number one, they offer help, but apart from the gospel message.
- 00:33
- That is, they divorce the help that they give from proclaiming the biblical gospel. Helping pregnant women with medical services and getting them away from the doorsteps of Planned Parenthood is a really good thing, but it doesn't deal with the core of the issue, which is the woman's heart that's set on killing her child.
- 00:48
- We can offer education, material needs, medical services all day long. But if crisis help is divorced from gospel power, talk of sin, repentance, and the demand that God has for holiness and holy living, it's really just like putting a
- 01:03
- Band -Aid on someone who needs open heart surgery. CPC apologists object that talk like that will only make emotionally vulnerable women feel shamed and judged.
- 01:12
- Which brings us to point number two, CPCs often use morally neutral and non -judgmental counseling techniques when they speak with women.
- 01:20
- They do this because they believe the lie that women who are abortion -minded are really fragile victims.
- 01:28
- You're a rebel. You're a rebel against God, ma 'am. And you need forgiveness. You're bullshit. You need
- 01:34
- Jesus. I have Jesus. I have forgiveness. You are out here tormenting people who are trying to take care of themselves.
- 01:40
- They're not taking care of themselves, ma 'am. No, no, no! If you don't know every situation, you can't speak on it. I don't know every situation. God says you're a sinner saved by grace.
- 01:47
- So there's nothing I could ever do that would make him not love me. There's nothing
- 01:52
- I could ever do to make him not let me into heaven. I've read them all. I'm the
- 01:57
- Christian. You're berating people. You're not preaching love. You're not preaching acceptance. Okay?
- 02:02
- Ma 'am. I've read the book. Don't come over here. Ma 'am, love. Don't come over here. Don't come over here. Love is not doing harm to neighbors.
- 02:08
- Like that woman. Now, CPCs have decided that if they come out with the gospel guns blazing, so to speak, and start telling the truth about abortion and how
- 02:16
- God sees it, it'll just turn women away. Therefore, the approach of CPCs is a lot like modern evangelical churches.
- 02:22
- We do what it takes to get people through the door, but we save all that hard talk about sin and repentance and how
- 02:30
- God commands us to live in holiness until sometime down the road when we've earned their trust or we've built a relationship with them.
- 02:39
- Then we can start talking about that stuff. Otherwise, we'll just shame people who are already going through a tough enough time. The views are identical, which is because the theology is the same.
- 02:47
- This assumes a view about the nature of human beings that's simply unbiblical. And here's the point. If women who seek abortions are victims, then they're not breakers of God's law.
- 02:56
- They don't have any need for the gospel. And if they have no need for the gospel, what is Christ for the woman who is considering abortion?
- 03:03
- What is he for her in the area of abortion and in the gospel proclamation that we bring to this area?
- 03:08
- Pro -life Christians need to be just that, distinctly Christian in the counsel that we give to women and, dare
- 03:14
- I say, use the Bible, whether the woman is churched or unchurched. Number three. And this was just recently pointed out on Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.
- 03:22
- CPCs, although claiming to be Christian, often pretend to be what they're not for the sake of getting women into their buildings or mobile vans that can be parked next to abortion clinics.
- 03:33
- Take a listen to this. Just listen to Abby Johnson, an anti -abortion activist, addressing a conference for one of the largest
- 03:39
- CPC organizations. We want to appear neutral on the outside. The best call, the best client you ever get is one that thinks they're walking into an abortion clinic.
- 03:49
- Okay? Those are the best clients that could ever walk in your door or call your center. The ones that think you provide abortions.
- 03:57
- Now this is very important. John Oliver is dead wrong about abortion and his worldview is morally bankrupt.
- 04:04
- However, isn't it interesting that even the unbelievers aren't fooled by the efforts of believers that are attempting to disguise their true intentions to stop abortions?
- 04:12
- As organizations with a Christian philosophy, why don't they just forego getting women to believe that they might be abortion clinics so that they unknowingly stumble through the door and just be distinct?
- 04:24
- The other side's up front about what they want, the right to stay open so that they can kill babies. They're not neutral.
- 04:29
- So why are we as pro -lifers pretending to be? Unbelievers aren't fooled and they see right through it.
- 04:34
- Now does this mean that we can't be creative and use things like righteous deception? Course not. Planned Parenthood doesn't own the color pink or ads on Google with keywords.
- 04:44
- But here's the point. What comes out of our mouth as Christians engaging in pro -life activism should be radically different than what we hear
- 04:52
- CPC saying. We're calling on the abortion -minded to turn from their sin and obey
- 04:57
- Jesus Christ, regardless of who that message turns away. But the best part is, the church, the local church specifically, should be the true crisis pregnancy center.
- 05:07
- Teaching young women and men to honor God with their bodies and hold marriage in honor among all, like the
- 05:12
- Bible says. And for those who do show up at abortion clinics to kill their children, we are the ones that get to offer crisis help paired with gospel power.
