Many who have been tasked with defending the flock have been asleep at their post, deaf to the cries of God's own people and blind to this cultural moment.

Now, along the way and over the years, I've heard many people say, we're gonna preach the gospel and we're gonna proclaim

Christ crucified and we're gonna teach the people of God the things of God. And sure, that sounds lofty and good, but we need to cut through the religious fluff for just a moment.

What we've done is we've said, we're gonna preach the gospel and never talk about anything going on in the world.

So what we've really done is we've created this sacred secular divide, this Gnostic sort of paradigm where we'll talk about spiritual things but not earthly things.

And what we've really done in that is that we've handed our congregations a spiritual toolkit that's gonna help them navigate two hours on a

Sunday morning, if you're a longer service, and maybe an hour that they're gonna spend throughout their week in Bible study and quiet time and family worship, while basically leaving them ill -equipped to spend the other 165 hours of their week where they're gonna have to deal with feminism and all of the weird philosophies that are proliferating our day.

We have basically ill -equipped them to deal with and live in the vast majority of their life.

So bravo, pastors, bravo. You know, I started this show because I was tired of seeing weak -kneed and cowardly presentations of the gospel and pastors refusing to speak into these areas.

Again, I've seen pastors who've told their congregations to read their Bibles until they're blue in the face.

Congratulations, great job. You've told your people to pray, splendid, excellent. But are you really proud of yourself for that?

That's it? Do you feel justified in your office as a pastor because you've told someone that they need to read their

Bible once a day, but the majority of their day, you're not giving them anything at all whatsoever how to cognitively and emotionally and physically deal with the challenges that they're gonna face in a world that is going mad?

Again, I've seen churches where Bible reading plans were emphasized until the pastor's throat was raw.

And yet the congregants in those churches still managed to justify abortion, still managed to catch their ballot for the party of death and maintain a moral compass that spins more wildly than a weather vane in a tornado.

I mean, the crux of the issue is this, we are not called, and I'm talking to pastors now, we are not called to just proclaim the heavenly glories at the expense of everything else.

We're also tasked with making sense of the muck and the mire that we're wading through here today.

God established three governments. He established the government of the home, the government of the church and the government of the nation.

And the church is supposed to equip the home and tell truth to the nation, even as we're equipping people in the work of knowing

Christ. Ministry is not a cushy gig where we can opt out of the tough stuff.

Men, as pastors, we're supposed to be double agents. We're supposed to be experts in the kingdom of God and savvy operators in the kingdom of man.

We've been called to, yes and amen, wax eloquently and to extol and magnify the beauty and the wonder that is found in the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Yes and amen. But we're also called to expose the sulfuric demonic delusions that are being shoved down our throats by a culture that hates

God. We have the role of helping people walking along the narrow way and also educating them on how broad the way that leads to destruction really is.

But I'm afraid as one old Baptist pastor once quipped that we've become in evangelicalism so heavenly minded that we are no longer any earthly good.

That's precisely what I think has happened in our pulpits, in our seminaries, and in our congregations because ministers have abandoned the task of teaching and referencing the world in favor of building separatist colonies of heaven gazers here on earth.

Why have we done this? Well, there's plenty of answers, plenty of reasons for that.

Pastors believe that speaking about politics, sometimes they believe it's below their pay grade and I would say to that pastor that they are a fool of the highest order.

The world's on fire. And while many ministers are preening about in their white robes like they're too sanctified to get their sweet little hands dirty, there are people who are drowning in the world and we failed to equip them.

That's the first reason I think. Second reason that we won't be around long enough to worry about the comings and the goings of our current cultural moment.

So why should we waste any precious time talking about it? These kind of men hide away in their libraries and read their eschatological books about the end of the world and strategize when the red heifer is finally gonna be sacrificed at the

Their end time escapism is not only irresponsible, it's a death sentence for God's people because they're waiting on a rapture that is not coming.

But perhaps the most nauseating lot of cowards that proliferate the ranks of evangelicalism today are those who are riddled with the fear of man instead of having the fear of God.

Instead of alerting the congregation of the very real threats that are amassing against Christendom in our day, they quake in fear over offending big donors.

Apparently, your biblical views on the trannies and the gays are gonna cause your well -padded budget to shrink and gosh, that could never be a blessing from the

But the fact that their social circle is a rogues gallery of deviance, crooks, and moral sewage, that alone should convince all the people that see this or even awake never to vote for this party and even to go as far as to advocate for their arrest.

Or what fellowship has light with darkness? This is clear. The instructions against forming deep associations with those who reject

God's ways is obvious. The image of being yoked together reflects an agricultural metaphor where two animals are bound together in unison so that they learn to pull the same direction, pull the same speed, and work together in unity.

So if you're gonna pull with someone who's doing evil, you're pulling in the same direction as their evil, you're working with their evil, and you are adopting their chaotic, fruitless, destructive life.

First Corinthians 10, 21, strengthen this by stating you can't drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons.

You can't partake in the table of the Lord and the table of demons. Deuteronomy 7, three through four instructs us, you shall not intermarry with them, the ones who are doing evil, for they will turn your sons away from me to serve and follow other gods.

When Christians cast their vote for the party that promotes policies that are in direct contradiction to the law of God, then they are walking in the counsel of the wicked and they're standing in the path of sinners and they're sitting in the seat of scoffers and they're celebrating the very unholy acts that that party celebrates, which is the killing of the unborn, the sexual perversion of minors, the affiliations with godless people and the adoption of pure evil policies.

Someone sets the standard for the righteous. They are called to avoid such associations as this and to delight in the law of the

Proverbs 24, one through two says, do not be envious of the evil men nor desire to be with them for their minds devise violence and their lips talk of trouble.

But if I play with someone who's good, who takes the game seriously, who enjoys my company, but we're focused, my game is elevated because you become like the company that you keep even in something as silly as a round of golf, how much more so in something as serious as your soul.
