Really what this program is about is about teaching you the faith by showing you what's wrong and then using the scriptures to show you what's right.

That's kind of the basic idea behind it, and we try to have a little bit of fun along the way. So there's a group of videos that usually shows up, and I put them in my database, and yes,

I keep a database, have to, and so the database of potential program segments that we're gonna look at.

A group of them end up in the loony bin file, you know, and usually I'll bring them out as a dumpster fire.

Now, I'll say this, the videos we're gonna look at today do qualify as a dumpster fire type episode, but what we're gonna do is we're gonna try to work in a little bit more biblical teaching into today's video for the very reason that, as loony as this all sounds and looks, and it is loony, there's something else going on here, and that is that when you consider the fruit of the

Holy Spirit as laid out in Scripture, and over again, those who are brought to penitent faith in Christ, they have their minds transformed.

One of the fruit of the Holy Spirit is self -control, being in a right mind, and you'll note that several things seem to be lacking in places that claim that they operate in signs and wonders, and claim that they're hearing the voice of God, and the things that seem to be lacking are holiness, yeah, that seems to go out the window, and also sanity.

Sanity. I mean, when you look at just the excesses within the charismatic NAR Pentecostal movements, the

Holy Spirit that they believe in seems to traffic in insanity and absurdity, and as a result of it, people believe they're hearing from God when what

God is saying doesn't have any anchoring in sanity.

The crazier it is, the more holy that is, the more it's likely to be the Holy Spirit, and that just isn't the truth.

We'll take a look at a couple of places where there's a dichotomy along those lines. So we're going to work some biblical texts in today.

It's not a dumpster fire episode. The videos we will be looking at are dumpster fire worthy, but let's do a little biblical teaching, shall we?

I heard T .D. Jakes say was like, the coronavirus jumps. And I was like, okay, you know, people have been saying that, like the coronavirus jumps and everything.

Jumping Jehoshaphat! The coronavirus jumps! Who knew? Okay. And so I was just kind of like, wait a minute.

The Lord spoke to me in that moment, and He just said to me like, hey, remember the demon,

Jesus hallelujah, remember the demon that jumped in the Bible. This is gonna be painful.

All right, so remember the demon that jumped. This is not sound.

This is not lucid. There's something really off here. Okay, so we've been seeing in the media, what is the saying?

They're saying the coronavirus jumps from person to person. Do you know how communicable diseases work?

Okay, so does the cold, so does the flu.

You know, they jump from person to person. You know, they're spread through contact with particular, you know, things like, you know, what you exhale out of your lungs.

So stay away from everybody, because this jumps, right? There's a demon, hallelujah, that jumps in the

I need to go to my happy place. Oh, okay.

There's a jumping demon in the Bible, and it has something to do with the coronavirus. Behind this and what this is, this is so important, okay?

Then, this is Acts 19, 13. Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists took in hand to name over them which had what?

Evil spirits. Jesus, evil spirits, Jesus. Seven sons of Sceva, really?

Yeah, so because the demons jumped, it has something to do with the coronavirus.

Not sound mind here. The name of the Lord Jesus saying, we assure you by Jesus, whom

Paul preaches, and there were certain sons of Sceva, a Jew, the priest, about seven which did this, and the evil spirit answered and said,

Jesus, I acknowledge, and Paul, I know, Jesus, but who are you,

Jesus? And the man in who the evil spirit was jumped on them.

Come on. Oh, no, just like the coronavirus, man. The demon jumped on a man. See, T .J.

says the coronavirus jumps, so there's your connection point. Wow, this is crazy.

Now, he jumped on them, Jesus. He jumped on them. Are you guys getting it? He jumped on them.

Why are you yelling at me again? Jesus, and overcame them and prevailed against them so that they fled out of the house naked and wounded.

This is an evil spirit. I have to fix my hair after that.

This is your brain on false doctrine. Now, let's do a little biblical teaching here. We'll take a look at some more examples of this as we go, but, you know,

I wanted to kind of take a look at, you know, kind of a biblical approach to dealing with this problem, and so we're gonna start in the

Gospel of Mark chapter 5, Gospel of Mark chapter 5, and here we have an account of a bonafide demoniac, and I'll come back to the

11:21

Acts 1 in a minute, you know, Acts 19, because just because the demon leaped doesn't mean it has anything to do with a coronavirus.

That's a bizarre association and one that isn't even lucidly tenable, but here's what it says about a particular demoniac, and we'll do a little word study along the way.

So Jesus and the disciples, they had gotten onto, you know, one of those fishing vessels of the

Sea of Galilee, they've crossed the Sea of Galilee into Gentile territory. So they came to the other side of the sea, to the country of the

Gerasenes, and you'll note that if you were to look at the

11:59

Sea of Galilee on a map in your Bible, so the northwest quadrant of the

Sea of Galilee, that's where the Jews were, so Capernaum is up there, and you get the idea.

Magdala is not too far away from that. The eastern shore of the

12:17

Sea of Galilee, that's the place of the Decapolis, and the fact that they have pig herders there, that, you know, this is all pagan territory, so these are

Roman colonies and things like this, so you kind of get the idea. So when Jesus crosses the Sea of Galilee, pay attention when you're reading the

12:34

Gospels, because it's usually kind of an indicator that he's going off into Gentile territory.

And so if you've ever read one of the Gospel accounts and noted that Jesus feeds two multitudes, 5 ,000 and 3 ,000, what's the difference between the two of them?

The difference between the two of them is that one is the 5 ,000, this is a

Jewish multitude, and the feeding of the the 3 ,000, that is a

13:05

Gentile multitude. So two different multitudes all together, and so these are kind of your indicators, so you get the idea.

We're heading into pagan territory, all right? So immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit.

He lived among the tombs, and no one combined him anymore, not even with a chain, for he had been bound with shackles and chains, but he wrenched the chains apart, he broke the shackles in pieces.

No one had the strength to subdue him, night and day, among the tombs, and on the mountains he was always crying out and cutting himself with stone.

So the guy's out of his mind, for real. And so you know, this is, you know, when the demons are indwelling and possessing and taking over, you know, no soundness of mind, you just,

I mean, you become kind of like Gollum, you know? It's just a pitiful wretch.

And so when he saw Jesus from afar, and this is the part that should give us pause here, that should wake us up a little bit here.

So when he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and fell down before him and listened to what the demons said, and crying out with a loud voice, he said, what have you to do with me,

Jesus, Son of the Most High God? Okay, so you think the demons are lost?

At least the demons know Jesus, they know the Son of God when they see him. Human beings? I mean, if Jesus were to be walking down the street today, now granted, he should be wearing a mask, but even if he wasn't, so if Jesus, if you saw

Jesus driving down the street or walking down the street today, there would be nothing that you would sit there and go, that's the

14:49

Son of God! But not so with the demons. The demons know exactly who Jesus is. So what have you to do with me,

Jesus, the Son of the Most High God? You'll note that we are so blind, we do not even know our

Creator when he shows up. And so the demon says, I adjure you by God, do not torment me, for he was saying to him, come out of the man, you unclean spirit.

And Jesus asked him, what is your name? He replied, my name is Legion, for we are many. And so he begged him earnestly not to send them out of the country.

Now a great herd of pigs was feeding there on the hillside. So obviously this is pagan territory,

15:26

Jews don't eat bacon. And so they begged him, saying, send us into the pigs and let us enter them.

15:32

So he gave them permission, and the unclean spirits came out, entered the pigs and the herd, numbering about 2 ,000, rushed down the steep bank into the sea and drowned in the sea.

So the herdsmen then fled, told it in the city and in the country, and that people came to see what it was that had happened.

And they came to Jesus and saw the demon -possessed man, the one who had the

15:59

Legion sitting there, clothed and in his right mind.

And they were afraid. Now we're gonna do a little Greek word study here on right mind.

So let's pull the Greek word up, and I need to make this a little bit bigger so that my eyes can see it.

So the Greek word for right mind, right mind, is sophraneo, sophraneo.

16:28

And so to be able to think in a sound or a sane manner, to be of sound mind, of mental health, okay?

So the contrast there is to be out of your mind, and that's really the idea.

So being demonized, you're out of your mind, being freed by Christ, this fellow is back in his right mind.

Now I'm gonna pull up Logos real quick here, I don't always do that. And in pulling up Logos, hang on a second here,

I need to see one other thing, there we go. So in pulling up Logos, I want to show you, so this is, this particular book is titled

The Theological Dictionary of the New Testament by Kittel, Gerhard, Friedrich, Gerhard, yeah, so this is important work.

And so when you learn Greek and you are learning how to operate in the biblical languages, it's important to have several scholarly works to assist you in rightly doing this.

And so you'll note that this is a group of words, so, sofron, sofroneo, there's our verb right there, sofronizo, sofronismos, sofrosune, so this is a group of words, this is a word group here.

They're all kind of interconnected, and when we look then at the etymological occurrence in meeting, watch what this says.

It means first of, sound, sound mind. And so that's the basic idea here, and this is why studying the biblical languages is so important, because, the reason being is that, is that we do not, well, how do

I put it, learning Greek or Hebrew, it's not a code. Oftentimes there's not a one -to -one correlation, and so they use words differently, they use idioms differently, and so we'll note then sofroneo is part of a etymological word group within Greek that is going to include verbs, nouns, adverbs, and, you know, this whole group then together, the the gist of it is to being in a sound mind.

Now let me show you a text that you may be familiar with in the

King James Version, which I think, funny enough, I think the King James gets a better translation of this particular word from this word group, excuse me.

And let's talk about this, and so 2nd Timothy chapter 1, verses 6 and 7.

For this reason I remind you, to fan and to flame the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.

For God gave us a spirit not of fear, but of power and love, and the

King James is, so you're gonna note, the King James will translate this as a sound mind.

And let me show you then verse 7, so we're dealing again with, okay, so here it says, in the

19:58

ESV, it says not of fear but of power and love, and it says self -control.

So this is part of that word group then etymologically in the Greek, sofroneosmos, sofroneosmos, and it can be translated sound mind.

And so the self -control here is really getting at the gist of this idea of having discipline and control over your passions, and so that's the idea.

False doctrine does not do this. False doctrine leaves you in the power of your passions.

But let me come back and look at the story again, because I think I'm not gonna do it justice if we just leave you off.

So he is in his right mind. So you'll note here the Greek word for right mind is the same, it's in that same etymological group as 2

Timothy 1, 7, of power and of a sound mind.

Same etymological group, this is a fruit of the Holy Spirit. So then seeing this former demoniac being in his right mind, they were afraid, and those who had seen it described to them what had happened to the demon -possessed man and to the pigs, and so they began to beg

Jesus to depart from their region. So here this crazy guy they couldn't control is now no longer naked, he's clothed, he's in his sound mind, and they're freaking out.

What is going on here? None of us have been able to control this guy, and now he's, you know, he's just as ordinary as ordinary gets.

You know, we've gone from a nightmare to a normal account, so they're freaking out.

21:48

So they go and tell everybody, they come back and they beg Jesus to depart from their region. Get away!

Go away! So Jesus, he's not gonna stay, but you're gonna note here this fellow who was as far gone as you can get.

I mean, a good way to kind of think of this demoniac of the Gerasenes is that if you were to picture the devil as a dragon, which is how the

Bible depicts him, this fellow was all the way down the dragon's throat, about to be consumed whole, and Jesus reaches into the throat of the dragon itself and pulls this fellow out and cleans him up, gives him a sound mind, and although the people there, they don't want to see

22:33

Jesus, they don't want Jesus there at all, what Jesus has done is taken the guy who's the most far gone and delivered him, and this is the fellow then who's going to preach the good news about Jesus in the

22:46

Decapolis. And so the story then continues. So as Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been possessed with the demons begged him that he might be with him.

Please let me come with you, Jesus, which is only the right response.

I mean, you know, you've saved me, I owe my life to you, everything. And Jesus says to him, he says no.

So he did not permit him, and he said, you go to your home and to your friends and you tell them how much the

Lord has done for you and how he has had mercy on you. And so he went away and he began to proclaim in the

23:25

Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him, and everyone marveled.

23:30

And so you'll note Christ had mercy on this fellow, and so Jesus doesn't leave himself without a witness.

He leaves himself with now a man who was far gone, mentally as gone as you get, spiritually as gone as you get, and he's in his right mind, he's been regenerated, and now he has control over himself and he's proclaiming the mercy of Christ.

So it's a great story, great story of that type of deliverance. Okay, so we've talked about the sound mind from there, and so then into this, consider this text from the book of Galatians.

In Galatians chapter 5, the Apostle Paul says, I say, walk by the Spirit and you'll not gratify the desires of the flesh.

To walk in the Spirit is to walk in faith, to believe and trust and call upon the Holy Spirit to give you the strength to mortify your sinful flesh, to walk in self -control.

Okay, so the opposite of walking in self -control, of being out of your mind, if you would, is to gratify the desires of your sinful flesh.

24:40

So note, the desires of the flesh, they're against the Spirit. The desires of the Spirit, they are against the flesh.

These are opposed to each other to keep you from doing the things that you want to do. So if you are led by the

Spirit, you're not under the law. Now the works of the flesh, they're evident. Sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these.

I warn you, as I warned you before, those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. And so you'll note then into this context are the claims of the

NAR and, you know, and in different charismatic groups that the manifestation of the

25:31

Holy Spirit is in lack of control, being drunk in the glory, whatever that is, and manifestations of being completely out of your mind.

And Scripture puts all of these into the categories of your sensual mind, and as being opposed to the work of the

25:52

Spirit and the fruit of the Spirit. So Paul says, I warn you, as I warned you before, those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

But watch this, the fruit of faithfulness, gentleness, and then self -control.

And the Greek word here for self -control is going to be a different one than the group of words that we took a look at.

And so here, self -control is ekkrateia, ekkrateia, and let's see if we can figure out what this is all about.

Restraint of one's emotions. Restraint of one's emotions. So, an impulses or desires, you know, it's self -control.

So the idea here is that the passions of your sinful flesh are warring against the

Holy Spirit, and the desires of the new man that you are in Christ. And so the fruit of the

Holy Spirit being self -control, the fruit of the Holy Spirit works in you a sound mind, restraint of your emotions and your impulses and your desires, and bringing you into, you know, let's just say sane and sober mindedness and behavior that follows.

That's the idea, this is the fruit of the Holy Spirit. And so as we've been listening then to Kay Nash, she was taking a look at the account of the seven sons of Scevas.

So this is Acts 19, and I'll start at verse 13. Some of the itinerant

Jewish exorcists undertook to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying,

I adjure you by Jesus whom Paul proclaimed. So note, these Jewish itinerant preachers, they're not believers in Jesus, they remain to be impenitent, unbelieving

Jews as it relates to the Messiah, Jesus Christ. And so the seven sons of a

Jewish high priest named Sceva, they were doing this, but the evil spirit answered them, Jesus I know,

Paul I recognize, but who are you? And the man in whom was the evil spirit leaped on them.

Now note here, it was not the spirit that leaped, the man in whom was the evil spirit.

The evil spirit didn't leap, the man leaped, because he was possessed by the demon.

And leaped on them, mastered all of them, overpowered them so that they fled out of the house naked and wounded, and this became known to all the residents of Ephesus, both

Jews and Greeks, and fear fell upon them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was extolled.

And also many of those who were now believers came confessing and divulging their practices, and a number of those who had practiced magic arts brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all.

And so sorcery is one of the the fruits of the flesh, and so you'll note here, in sound mind, the gospel is going out, and those who are practicing magic and sorcery, they're now confessing their wickedness and burning their books.

That's what they're doing and saying, we don't want to have anything to do with this anymore. They've been given a sound mind by the

Holy Spirit, and so they counted the value of them all and found 50 ,000 pieces of silver.

That's a lot of money even by today's standard. So the word of the Lord continued to increase and to prevail mightily.

So what Cain Ashe has done here is found some weird association.

Why? Well, because T .D. Jakes said the coronavirus jumps, and so there you got a jumping demon.

So, oh no! But I'm gonna say this, this is nuts. This woman is not displaying any of the fruit of the

Holy Spirit. In fact, this is the opposite of a sound mind. For real.

This is tragic. So let me let me back this up just a little bit and consider again what

Cain Ashe is saying here. That evil spirits jump from one person to another.

The coronavirus is jumping from one person to another. Hallelujah.

Hallelujah. Okay? And so we have to cast this spirit out, okay?

The coronavirus isn't a spirit. It's a virus. It lives in the physical world that you and I live in.

So what we need to be praying Jesus about as a church right now is against two main demons going on, okay?

One is an evil spirit, Jesus, and two is the spirit of infirmity.

Hi Carrie. Hi Jessica. Jesus. Hallelujah. Spirit of infirmity. Okay. And so I want you to start praying against the evil spirit and the spirit of infirmity because that is what is behind this demon, okay?

No, it's not. All right. So you get the idea here. Now let's take a look at another fellow.

This is Stephen Powell, and this is a guy who's traveled with Todd Bentley, and we covered

Stephen Powell's conversation that he had with her regarding Todd Bentley, and noted that I did not recognize the religion that they were describing.

It is not Christianity. And so what we're gonna do here is we're gonna watch part of a video that's on his channel, and this is the prophetic voice with Stephen Powell, and see if he can make heads or tails of this.

Hey everyone, Stephen Powell here. I want to tell you about a dream, a vision I had last night. I was standing there, and I was watching this actor,

Sylvester Stallone. Many of you know him, and he had the iconic role of Rocky Balboa in that series,

Rambo, John Rambo, and another, you know, several other roles down through the years. But I was watching him in this night vision, this dream, and he was drinking whiskey.

He was drinking alcohol in a glass, and to my shock and horror, I looked at his glass and I saw a black scorpion inside his glass.

Kid you not. And he's just drinking this drink, keeps knocking it back. Are you sure this just wasn't, you know, a bad pizza?

You know, you had pizza the night before, maybe, you know, bad batch of anchovies. Love anchovies, by the way.

Had a bad batch of anchovies, and you know, you had a one of those pizza dreams, you know? Totally oblivious to it.

Doesn't see the scorpion, doesn't see me either, because I'm freaking out, and I would have told him if he would have seen me.

But anyways, he gets down to like the last drops in his glass, and he goes to knock that drink back, and that scorpion slides right into his mouth and stings him with a stinger.

And you know, he's hospitalized, and you know. And why do

I need to think this is from God? They barely get him the antivitamin time, and it saves his life in the dream, but he's put up, you know, you know, bedridden for weeks, you know, recovering.

But interesting, of course, this is a prophetic experience, I believe God speaking. Why? Why is this a prophetic experience?

What do you think God is communicating through Sylvester Stallone drinking a black scorpion while enjoying a glass of whiskey, and then it's stinging him in his tongue?

Why do you think that's a prophetic experience? And prophetically, symbolically, through it.

But the interesting thing is, whenever I went and studied Sylvester Stallone this morning, I found out that he was actually born paralyzed in his face.

He was... Yes, yeah, yeah. Those of us who remember

Rocky and saw it in the theaters, yeah, yeah, we all knew this about...

I read the Scriptures, I know I'm reading the Word of God. These guys are claiming to have prophetic experiences, and the stuff they're saying is looney tunes.

This is cuckoo banana town. This is not God's voice at all.

This is not the voice of somebody who has a sound mind.

This, I mean, I'm really thinking that those who are buying into this

NAR, charismatic, prophetic, apostolic theology, it's cooking their brains.

This is not lucid at all, and in fact, Scripture warns us even about this kind of stuff.

And let me see if I can find this in the book of Jude really quick. Jude only has one chapter, by the way, and talks about...

Jude 8, so in like manner, these people, these false teachers who have crept in, in fact, if we were to back up into the context,

Jude 1, verse 3, Beloved, although I was very eager to write to you about our common salvation,

I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith, once for all delivered to the saints.

By the way, Jude, verse 3, is the biblical basis of fighting for the faith, to contend for the faith once delivered to the saints.

Why? For certain people, they've crept in unnoticed, who long ago were designated for this condemnation.

They are ungodly people. They pervert the grace of our God into sensuality.

And so here, sensuality, the gist of this concept here is, it relates back to, you know, following their sinful passions, and they deny our only

Master and Lord Jesus Christ. And then going on in verse 8, it says, Yet in like manner, these people also, relying on their dreams, relying on their dreams, they defile the flesh, they reject authority, they blaspheme the glorious ones.

But when the archangel Michael, contending with the devil, was disputing about the body of Moses, he didn't presume to pronounce a blasphemous judgment, but he said,

The Lord rebuke you. But these people, they blaspheme all that they do not understand, and they are destroyed by all that they, like unreasoning animals, understand instinctively.

And so you'll note here, the Scriptures describe false teachers, false prophets, those who rely on their dreams, not as having a sound mind, but it likens them to unreasoning animals.

And you know, and just they've lost all sense of reality.

That's the idea here. If you want a picture of that, let me define this really quick.

I think it's in Daniel chapter 4. Daniel chapter 4. Yes, yes, yes, yes.

All right, so Daniel chapter 4. Consider this as a good foil for this concept here.

And by the way, are you aware that Nebuchadnezzar has written a letter to you?

He has. This is a letter written to you, and this account in Daniel chapter 4 is,

King Nebuchadnezzar wants you to know what happened to him, and he wants you to know of God's mercy toward him.

So King Nebuchadnezzar, to all peoples, nations, and languages that dwell on the earth.

By the way, are you part of a nation, a people, or a language that dwells on the earth? You are. I am.

So this is a letter written to you. So within the book of Daniel, there is an epistle. This is the epistle of Nebuchadnezzar.

And so here's what Nebuchadnezzar says to you. "...that made me afraid.

As I lay in bed, the fancies and the visions of my head alarmed me. So I made a decree that all the wise men of Babylon should be brought before me, that they might make known to me the interpretation of the dream.

Then the magicians and the enchanters and the Chaldeans and the astrologers came in and told them, and I told them the dream, but they could not make known to me its interpretation.

At last Daniel came in before me, he who was named Belshazzar after the name of my

God, in whom is the spirit of the holy gods. And I told him the dream, saying,

O Belshazzar, chief of the magicians, because I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in you and that no mystery is too difficult for you, tell me the visions of my dream that I saw and their interpretation.

The visions of my head as I lay in bed were these. I saw and behold a tree in the midst of the earth, and its height was great.

The tree grew and became strong, its top reached to heaven, and it was visible to the end of the whole earth.

Its leaves were beautiful, its fruit abundant, and in it was food for all. The beasts of the field found shade under it, and the birds of the heavens lived in its branches, and all flesh was fed from it.

I saw in the visions of my head as I lay in bed, and behold a watcher, a holy one, came down from heaven, this is an angel by the way, and he proclaimed aloud and said thus,

Chop down the tree, lop off its branches, strip it off its leaves, scatter its fruit, and let the beasts flee from under it and the birds from its branches, but leave the stump of its roots in the earth bound with a band of iron and bronze amid the tender grass of the field, and let him be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts in the grass of the earth.

Let his mind be changed from a man's, and let a beast's mind be given to him, and let seven periods of time pass over him.

So the sentence is by decree of the watchers, the decision by the word of the Holy Ones, to the end that the living may know that the

Then Daniel, whose name was Belshazzar, was dismayed for a while, and his thoughts alarmed him. And the king answered and said,

Belshazzar, let not the dream or the interpretation alarm you. Belshazzar answered and said, my lord, may the dream be for those who hate you, and its interpretation for your enemies, the tree you saw which grew and became strong so that its top reached to heaven, and it was visible to the end of the whole earth, whose leaves were beautiful and its fruit abundant, and in which was food for all, under which beasts of the field found shade, and in whose branches the birds of the heavens lived.

It is you, O king, it is you who have grown and become strong. Your greatness has grown, it reaches to heaven, and your dominion to the ends of the earth.

Now, all of this came upon King Nebuchadnezzar at the end of twelve months.

He was walking on the roof of the royal palace of Babylon, and the king answered and said,

Is not this great Babylon which I have built by my mighty power as a royal residence for the glory of my majesty?

So you'll note, Daniel tells him to repent, tells him what the dream meant and what is going to happen to him, and rather than repent, he persists, persists in his narcissism, his sin, his refusal to acknowledge that the kingdom that he has was given to him by the

Most High, the only God. And so while the words were still in the king's mouth, there fell a voice from heaven,

O King Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is spoken, the kingdom has departed from you.

And you shall be driven from among men, your dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field, and you shall be made to eat grass like an ox, and seven periods of time shall pass over you until you know that the

Most High rules the kingdom of men and gives it to whom he will. Immediately the word was fulfilled against Nebuchadnezzar, he was driven from among men and ate grass like an ox, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven till his hair grew as long as eagles feathers and his nails were like birds claws."

Yeah, given the mind of an animal, out of his mind, right? This is a judgment of God, not having a sound mind is to be handed over to, well, your sin.

Not being of a sound mind is the opposite of what the Holy Spirit works in us. Sound mind, self -control.

So at the end of the days, I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted my eyes to heaven and my reason returned to me.

And I blessed the Most High and I praised and honored him who lives forever, for his dominion is an everlasting dominion.

His kingdom endures from generation to generation. All the inhabitants of the earth, they are counted as nothing, and he does according to his will among the hosts of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth.

And none can stay his hand or say to him, what have you done? So at the same time my reason returned to me, and for the glory of my kingdom, my majesty and splendor returned to me.

My counselors and my lords sought me, and I was established in my kingdom, and still more greatness was added to me.

Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, I praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, for all of his works are right, and his ways are just.

Those who walk in pride, he is able to humble. King Belshazzar made a great feast for...okay,

so you got the idea. That's the letter. Went a little too far, didn't pay attention to that last bit, but you get the idea.

So that's the letter, the epistle of Nebuchadnezzar, that you can find in Daniel chapter 4.

And note here, the dichotomy between being of a sound mind and having the mind of a beast.

And you'll note that same theme, then, is borne out in the epistle of Jude regarding the false teachers, okay?

Woe to them, woe to them. They blaspheme all that they do not understand.

They are destroyed by all that they, like unreasoning animals, understand instinctively.

So as we look at people in the NAR, and the so -called signs and wonders and prophetic movement and stuff like this, these folks are looney tunes for a reason.

They are not of sound mind, so that you can say, that's not the

Holy Spirit. One of the fruit of the Holy Spirit is self -control, a sound mind.

That's how the Holy Spirit operates. So as we listen to here, Stephen Powell, this is nuts.

But of course, his, you know, didn't come from a scorpion in real life. It came from when he was being delivered as a baby.

They took those forceps, the nurse that was delivering him took those forceps and grabbed onto his head and his jaw and used them incorrectly, and ended up paralyzing him.

Part of his face is paralyzed, part of his jaw, and part of his tongue is actually paralyzed. So imagine, you know,

Sylvester Stallone being someone, you know, as a young man who's aspiring to be an actor.

And, you know, you would think an actor, you know, I mean, that's a pretty big disability to be paralyzed in your tongue.

I mean, these are actors. They depend on their ability to communicate and, you know, to put on a performance.

But imagine Sylvester Stallone, you know, he's got this dream in his heart, he's got something that the Lord, I believe, put in his heart with Rocky Balboa, but he's got this disability.

He's literally... So the story of Rocky is inspired by God the Holy Spirit. Who knew?

He's disabled. He's literally paralyzed in his tongue, in his face. His face doesn't look right and he can't talk right.

But the beautiful thing about this is, Saints, is that the Lord completely used, okay, what looked like a disability, what looked like something that was bad, something that needed to be overcome, and it actually turned out to be one of his greatest strengths.

The fact that he was paralyzed, that gave him a certain look. This isn't a word from the

...rising from the ashes and being reborn, resurrected. But I believe the Lord was saying very, very simply that there was going to be a rebirth, not just a rebirth, but a release of resurrection, power, and glory.

I saw the spirit and power of Elijah in this word. Elijah was one of those Old Testament prophets that was known for raising the dead.

Just listen to these words. Let's start with Deuteronomy 28, 23. Heaven that is above thee, be it brazen, and the earth thou treadest on be iron.

The heavens above thee shall become as hard as brass, and the earth... What does this have to do with...

well, you get the idea. This is weird. ...thou treadest upon as hard as iron. This gives a prophetic picture of a brazen heaven.

A heaven that is closed up. You know, if you're a prophetic, you've probably been in places and situations where you began to speak the

Word of the Lord and there was resistance. It was challenging. It was difficult. It felt like your words went up...

Why is he yelling at me like Kay Naz? ...and fell down. But I want to tell you that kingdom people are breakthrough people.

...for defeat. We are not anointed to quit. God did not call us to give up when there's a brazen heaven, but God is raising up some governmental believers, intercessors that know how to pray against the brazen heavens, gatekeepers...

Pray against a brazen heaven. ...that know how to turn the gates and open them up, people of God that know how to prophesy.

Sometimes you've got to prophesy again and again and again. How are you using that word?

What does prophesy mean in that sentence? Because usually somebody who prophesies is speaking the

Word of the Lord that God has given them. Okay, so it sounds to me like you're using prophesy as some kind of spoken incantation or decreeing and declaring that creates a reality.

That's not prophesying. ...and say my words will not fall down, but in the name of Jesus... I like what he said there.

My words will not fall down. They're not God's words when these people are prophesying. They're their own words.

...breaking the brazen heavens open. I believe God is raising up bold, strong, apostolic people, people that have been sent with the government of God, the mandate of heaven, the jurisdiction of God.

I don't even think he believes what he's saying. Did you see that smirk on his face? Let me back this up. I believe God is raising up bold, strong, apostolic people, people that have been sent with the government of God, the mandate of heaven, the jurisdiction of God to command the brazen heavens.

You will open in my church. You will open in my family. All my family will be saved.

You will open in my territory. I say this territory is filled with the glory of God.

I say this territory loves the prophetic. I know every preacher that came in here and was prophetic got sent out, but I'm standing boldly.

I'm standing governmentally, and I'm prophesying. The brazen heavens must be opened in the name of Jesus.

I want to give you some keys. Number one, we need to release the government of God. Yeah, we gotta release the government of God.

Which biblical text tells us to do that? These are the ravings of an unsound mind.

Psalms 103, 19, the Lord has prepared his throne in the heavens, and his kingdom rules over all in all.

God is looking for a church. God is looking for believers that will release the government of God. God's looking for a church and believers who will release the government of God.

Number one, what does that even mean? And two, do you have a biblical text that says this?

That will prophesy, that will declare, that will be strong, that will be— Yeah, we've already proven that decreeing and declaring ain't a thing.

Biblically, nope, not at all. Be bold. The next thing we need to do, we need preachers that preach with governing messages and authority.

Preach the kingdom of God. Don't preach the situation. Don't preach the struggle. Preach— Notice, word of faith stuff here, apparently.

Whatever you say creates reality. Preach the kingdom of God. There are words that will cause people to advance.

We need prayers that govern. We don't need to be behind the devil responding. We need to be out front by the prophetic anointing of God.

Next, we need governmental worship and praise. There's a sound that exalts the king of kings, and he sits upon the sound.

There's a sound, and he sits on the sound. Jesus sits on a sound.

When I'm sitting down, if there's a sound where I'm sitting, it's usually a bad thing. I don't want to be sitting there when that happens.

Just saying, you know. We need governmental worship and praise. We need governmental administration, people that will administrate the plans in the earth.

I believe God— So we need some administrators. —wants to raise up spirit -filled administrators.

We need to govern in media. We need to govern in creativity. We need— Here we go, Seven Mountains stuff here.

—to govern in arts, because the devil likes to identify himself as the prince of the power of the air.

We need to dominate the airwaves. We need to govern through warfare and deliverance. We need to cast out demons.

We need to dismantle— We need to, we need to, we need— These are the ravings of a lunatic, and I'm not talking figuratively.

I would also remind you, then, in this regard, and a text worth paying attention to is going to be in 2

Thessalonians, chapter 2. 2 Thessalonians, chapter 2, in this regard. Talking about the coming of our

Lord Jesus Christ and the apostasy that will take place, Paul says in 2

Thessalonians 2, verse 3, let no one deceive you in any way, in any way, because that day, the day of the return of Christ, will not come unless the rebellion—that's apostasy.

That's what apostasy is. It's a rebellion against Christ within the visible Church, unless that comes first.

And then the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction who opposes and exalts himself against every so -called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be

God. And then, note, Paul then goes on to say, verse 7, that the mystery of lawlessness is already at work.

Only he who now restrains it will do so until he's out of the way. And so, then the lawless one will be revealed, from whom the

Lord Jesus will kill with the breath of his mouth, and bring to nothing by the appearance of his coming.

And so the coming, then, of the lawless one, the parousia, the appearance of the lawless one, is by the activity of Satan with all power in false signs and false wonders.

So you can tell the devil is operating, and this is one of the signs of the man of lawlessness' imminent appearing, is when you see false signs and wonders in operation, think

N .A .R., and with all wickedness and deception, for those who are perishing because they refuse to love the truth, and so be saved.

Therefore, God sends them a strong delusion. And you'll note, Jude likens this delusion to an unreasoning, instinctive animal, so that they may believe what is false, in order that all may be condemned who did not believe in the truth, who had pleasure in unrighteousness.

So, if you are ever in a church where somebody claims to be hearing the voice of God and saying stuff that just sounds loony tunes, there's a really good chance we're dealing with something or someone whom the

Scriptures warn us about, because the exact opposite of what the Holy Spirit works in people is self -control and a sound mind.

That's what the Holy Spirit works. Whereas a sign of demonic activity, demonic possession, a false teacher, or somebody who is under a strong delusion, is when their mind is more like an unreasoning animal, and there's something wrong up here.

And so you get the idea. And I'll say this, I know for a fact that there are some pretty high -level, prominent churches who claim to operate in prophetic signs and wonders and things like this, who had prophets or have prophets in their churches who, for real, have been mentally diagnosed with bonafide mental illnesses.

And so you kind of get the idea here, is that it's a sign of God's judgment when the insane, the people inside the asylum, are running the asylum.
