Mocking God in Pop Culture and the Claim of Divine Judgment

We live in a culture that not only rejects God, but also actively mocks God. Let's take a look at some popular figures who blatantly mock God, and then we'll find out how God will respond. Billie Eilish has won seven Grammy Awards, two American Music Awards, two Guinness World Records, three MTV Video Music Awards, three Brit Awards, a Golden Globe Award, and an Academy Award.

Needless to say, Eilish is a big deal in the world of music.

And the Grammy goes to, to somebody, to Billie Eilish.

And the winner is Billie Eilish! Billie Eilish, one of the most exciting pop stars on the planet, on winning her first Brit Award at only 18 years of age.

The American Music Award goes to one of my favorite artists in the world, Billie Eilish.

Eilish says that she used to be super religious, but that that part of her life completely went away.

I don't know if any of you know, I don't think I've ever talked about it. When I was little, like when I was like a little kid, I was super religious for no damn reason. My family never was religious.

I didn't know anyone that was religious. And for some reason, as a little girl, I just was like incredibly religious. And then that went on for years. And then at one point, I don't know what happened.

It just like completely went away. And then it was weird because then I had a couple of years of being like almost anti-religious.

Well, it seems that whatever Eilish's religion was, it didn't just go away. And it seems that Eilish now has absolutely no problem with producing music that mocks Christianity. In her song, All the Good Girls Go to Hell, the music video begins with Eilish, perhaps in heaven, being injected with something.

Eilish then sprouts wings. Eilish then falls to earth. What does all of this mean? Well, Eilish is playing a role as Lucifer. Then Eilish sings that to fight against the evil of climate change, which is really what the song is about.

Clearly, Eilish is twisting the Bible to promote her own agenda. It seems here that Lucifer maybe represents the evil of climate change instead of sin against God. And to Eilish, God seems to be a powerless feminine figure who isn't sovereign over Satan and Lucifer.

As for Eilish, it's climate change that's going to send everyone, including good girls, to hell. Again, no mention of sin or rebellion against God. Eilish is completely unashamed of using, twisting, and manipulating characters like Lucifer and God to promote her own secular, personal agendas.

This is Kendrick Lamar. And this is a Tiffany Co. crown of thorns, with 9 ,000 cobblestone micro-diamonds worth $3 million. Lamar is often cited as one of the most influential rappers of his generation.

Kendrick's the best rapper who's ever lived. There's not a person who can rap on planet Earth better than Kendrick Lamar.

At his performance at Glastonbury, Lamar said this about his crown. Does Lamar honestly think that he is honoring Christ by wearing an unbelievably expensive and flashy crown of thorns when Jesus died the most gruesome death imaginable?

And does Lamar honestly think he's honoring who he calls one of the greatest prophets that ever walked the Earth by subsequently rapping a song full of profanity? And does Lamar honestly think that he's honoring Christ when he wears this crown, coupled with a blood-stained shirt, fighting for the right of women to end the lives of pre-born babies?

Honestly, given how self-deceived people are nowadays, I wouldn't be surprised if Lamar is saying and doing all of this in sincerity, thinking he is actually honoring Christ, not blaspheming and mocking Christ.

Lil Dicky is an American rapper, comedian, and actor. In 2018, his song Freaky Friday, featuring Chris Brown, became a worldwide hit. In 2021, Lil Dicky released a song called Heaven Sent, where he plays Jesus on the cross.

And as you can imagine, this song was full of mockery. First, we see a mockery of Jesus' crucifixion. Then we see a mockery of hell. Then, Lil Dicky brags about his irreverence. And throughout the song, Lil Dicky prances about onstage as Jesus, rapping about things like garnering clout.

And Kevin Hart, one of the most famous comedians in the culture today, posted on Instagram a full endorsement of Lil Dicky. If you like this video, a subscribe helps YouTube recommend the truth to more people.

Heather McDonald, Jesus, and an Unrepentant Joke

Heather McDonald is an American stand-up comedian, actress, and author. At one of her stand-up comedy shows, McDonald makes an irreverent joke about Jesus.

Clearly, Jesus loves me the most. Seriously.

And immediately afterwards, something extremely unusual happened.

So nice. So nice.

Inexplicably, McDonald passed out and fractured her skull. After this happened, McDonald addressed the incident.

What a f***ing weekend. A lot of people ask, do you think Mary sent Jesus for you? I'm like, possibly. I mean, I've never had better comedic timing in my life. It's not Jesus, you guys. Jesus thinks I'm a hoot.

Of course, McDonald passing out immediately after her joke about Jesus could merely be an unfortunate coincidence. Nevertheless, it remains that McDonald remains completely unrepentant regarding flippantly treating Jesus as a source of comedy material.

Barack Obama, Scripture, and Selective Use of the Bible

Barack Obama, 44th President of the United States, has claimed to be a Christian.

It is only because Jesus conquered his own anguish, conquered his fear, that we're able to celebrate the resurrection.

But of course, what Obama actually believes and teaches does not at all line up with what the Bible teaches.

That I think same-sex couples should be able to get married.

In one of his speeches, Obama unashamedly mocked teachings in the Bible.

Which passages of scripture should guide our public policy? Should we go with Leviticus, which suggests slavery is okay? Or we could go with Deuteronomy, which suggests stoning your child if he strays from the faith?

Or should we just stick to the Sermon on the Mount? A passage that is so radical that it's doubtful that our own defense department would survive its application.

Clearly, Obama is extremely oblivious to what the Bible really teaches. And Obama is completely unashamed of speaking disparagingly about, and misrepresenting, the Bible's teachings. Madonna is no stranger to creating music videos that mock elements of Christianity.

In a music video for her song, Live to Tell, Madonna sings the song while hanging on a cross and wearing a crown of thorns. Madonna cares nothing about the message Jesus taught about sin, repentance, and faith.

Yet she is unashamed to portray herself as representing Jesus dying on the cross. Ricky Gervais is a comedian and an atheist. So unsurprisingly, Gervais has absolutely no problem with mocking the existence of God during his stand-up performances.

Repentance, the Gospel, and the Wrath of God

How will God respond to these popular non-Christians who blatantly and unashamedly mock Him and Jesus Christ? Well, for all non-Christians, God's wrath remains upon them. And they are called to repent and believe the gospel for their salvation.

But now He commands all people everywhere to repent. How do you get right with this God? Repent. Turn from your sin. Paul says, I'm not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ because it is the power of God unto salvation for all those who believe.

And if they do not turn from their sin, God's wrath will be poured out upon them.

When God sees the evil of men outside of Christ, God sees that evil. His hatred, His wrath, His anger against them is kindled and ready to be poured out. And it's like this, but mercy intercedes. And with one hand, mercy holds back the wrath and hatred of God against the sinner.

And with the other hand, God's mercy beckons the sinner to come. But make no mistake about it. And if you deny this doctrine, you are not Christian. One day, mercy will withdraw its offer and mercy will withdraw its hand and no longer restrain God's hatred.

And at that moment for you, sir, outside of Christ, the only thing that will be left for you is the holy hatred of God and His wrath being poured out upon you throughout all of eternity.
