This is a ministry of striving for eternity. Looking at Mark chapter 12, we see some interesting dynamics here.
01:21
Jesus starts to speak to the Jews in parables. And when he does this, he does a very convicting parable.
01:29
And the reaction they have, we'll look at the rest this week. However, he gives them this parable about someone who owns a vineyard.
01:36
And those tenants, the people that are hired to care for it, they don't have any respect for the owner. They care for it, but they want to make money for themselves.
01:44
And the owner sends people to try to collect the money. Nothing happens. They don't get the money.
01:49
These guys beat the servants that are sent to get the money. So what happens? He sends his son, thinking they wouldn't harm my son.
01:56
Oh, yes, they would. They kill his son. And he asks, Jesus asks the question, what will they do?
02:03
Well, he says that the owner of the vineyard will kill the tenants, overthrow them, and then give the vineyard to others.
02:11
That is a direct relation to what the Jewish people understood him saying when it said to the fact that the
02:17
Jewish people were rejecting their Messiah. They were rejecting Christ, God in flesh.
02:23
And he has given them the law. He's given them his special relationship.
02:30
And he's going to take that now, that vineyard, and give it to another, the church. And so you end up seeing him telling them.
02:36
He ends up saying, he talks about him being the cornerstone. They understand very clearly what he's saying.
02:42
And they're going to try to discredit him, which is what guilty people try to do, discredit the truth.
02:48
And we're going to see that the rest of this week and the rest of Mark 12. This podcast is part of the
