Jesus The King - Jet Tour Of Matthew (part 2)

Well, thank you usually have special music to set us up for the message to lead us into the Sermon, and that's exactly what that wonderful song did about Christ and Isaiah 53. Well just before we start just kind of a family matter.

This is my first sermon that I've ever preached with my glasses in my pocket. And so I don't want to quite put them on yet. But they're here just ready for me in case I need them so I can tell I'm getting much older so here we go.

Last week after the service a little one came up to me right over there. And they said I counted how many times you said King last week. Would you imagine it would be 50 to 60 times would you imagine it might be?

75 to 100 100 to 125 or 115 over if you had a guess. As I was speaking about Jesus is the king. How many times I said the word King you would say? One hundred and fifty five times. And so I said to the little one I said what was the sermon about?

She said Jesus is King. Society today doesn't know anything about kings queens. Oh. Maybe some kings and queens by name in Malaysia or the United Emirates or maybe in England. But real monarchies that have that have absolute power they're Gone This morning.

I typed into the Google search King just one word not the king not monarch but just King. I typed it in and the top ten included things like Stephen King magazines news stations radio stations games and the king himself.

Elvis Presley at the very bottom at least the the wiki the the encyclopedia had monarch. And we don't think about God as King anymore. We don't think about this great monarch. Yet in the Bible Matthew has one aim.

One purpose and if you turn your Bibles to Matthew that aim and that purpose just to show you. To show the Jewish readers the original readers that Jesus Christ is King not by name alone. But he has all authority vested in him by the Father.

Jesus Christ is King now. We're going through the book of Matthew in the Sermon on the Mount and we're diving back into it after about a five-month layoff. So what we're doing now is we're taking the jet tour of Matthew part two.

I really want to finish today this jet tour just to give us an idea of the main view of Matthew. So then when we're looking at pieces it all fits together. For instance, if you know that the book of Romans is all about righteousness.

If you get bumped in the middle of the night, what's the theme of Romans? Then you should say righteousness and helps you to understand all the chapters and. The same thing for Matthew when you read anything in Matthew if you know that this is the Spirit of God's Evidence to all who would read from the original authors the Jews.

The audience the Jews to us now that Jesus is King. Everything will make much more sense. The Apostle Matthew wants us to know that Jesus is King. He's the only King and he will never let us that let us get out of focus in our own minds that Jesus is the King.

Interestingly in the ancient Near East sometimes the Kings were even associated with the God and Here we don't have any association. We have the blatant Fulfillment of prophecy. Matthew 21 verse 5 the theme of all of Matthew behold your King.

The righteous King One like a son of man Daniel said to whom was given dominion and glory and a kingdom. What we're gonna have to do is we're gonna have a quick catch-up and then we'll keep moving. About 14 different heads of our titles for these chapters and we'll just move right through if you can't get all 14.

That's fine. But just looking at the chapters. I've divided up the chapters 14 different ways. I'm not even gonna count the numbers as we go. But just to give you the theme if you have a Bible you can just walk your way through With us and you'll see that Jesus is King chapter 1 the Kings pedigree.

Every King has one and we don't want an imposter King. Do we we want a proper credentialed King? We want true royalty and in Matthew. It's no different for this royal King. He's not a faker. He's not a poser.

He is the king. Look at Matthew 1 1 the record of the genealogy of Jesus the Messiah. What's another word for it Messiah? Anointed one and we forget we just think it's some kind of name, you know, Mike Abendroth this must be a name, but the Anointed One as one man said in Jewish literature, it means a Title for the king who would bring salvation in the final age.

So even that idea of Messiah the Anointed One should Broadcast Jesus is King. The Son of David another term as we saw last week for King seven times in Matthew. He's the king. He's the real Son of David Son of Abraham so the Jews would know back know that he would go right back to Jewish background.

He had a royal line that was guaranteed if you look down in verse 20 of chapter 1. But when he had considered this behold an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream st. Joseph son of David. Do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife for the child who has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.

She will bear a son. She'll call his name Jesus for he will save his people from their sins. This King had to be man so he could represent humanity and he also had to be God. So he would have enough righteousness as it were to distribute to all those who would ever believe.

He doesn't just have a pedigree. But if you look at chapter 2, there's treachery surrounding this King this up-and-coming King if you will King Herod tries to kill baby King Jesus and all the intrigue and the drama and the melodrama about this new little baby King to be born and Herod tries to snuff that Messiah out.

Chapter 3 the forerunner to the king. He doesn't just have a pedigree or there's not just treachery. But furthermore, there's a forerunner to this King. And if you look at chapter 3 verse 2, we know this forerunner who's blazing the trail for the new King is named John the Baptist and you see what John the Baptist says don't miss it verse to repent for the what?

Kingdom of heaven is at hand. I'm blazing the trail. I'm the forerunner for the King. Chapter 4 the challenge to the King still in review the challenge to the King. I mean here we're gonna have the clash of the Kings.

We're not gonna just have the King assume authority without the rivals trying to attack and to backbite and to Destroy and this one is no man. This is Satan himself, and you know the temptation that was found in the wilderness impelled by the Spirit of God.

Jesus stands up to this rival King. Chapter 5 to 7 the manifesto of the King. The manifesto of the King. Basically Jesus trying to say if you'd like to live in my kingdom. This is what you'll have to go by as it were to be a subject in my realm.

This is what it takes and it's not just pharisaical External obedience. It's internal. It's from the heart. It's real righteousness and he gives warnings in chapter 7 about it's narrow to enter my kingdom.

He says there's going to be false prophets false professions. The manifesto of the King. Chapter 8 and 9 the power and compassion of the King. Typically people rule with many armed forces army Navy Marines, etc.

Maybe this King spread too thinly. But Jesus with his power and compassion he heals he does miracles he casts out demons. He's not just a powerful King, but he's compassionate. Chapter 10. Well, any good King will have a delegation and here we have an unlikely group for his delegates a Ragtag bunch of people chapter 10 the 12 disciples and he gave them authority to do his Kings bidding.

Now we come up to the new information for today and we only have chapters 11 through 28 to go ready. I'll never forget Steve Lawson telling me that sometimes he gets asked to go to churches and seminaries to model Expository preaching to go to a seminary and they want him to preach Expositionally and they give him 15 to 20 minutes to preach.

He said how can I model that when introductions take 15 or 20 minutes just to place the right context just to show? What's happening just to develop the theme? How can I model exposition? We've got plenty of time Chapter 11 to 15.

I that wasn't. I wasn't supposed to be a laugh right there, by the way. And you know me my style is this. Like a machine gun staccato bang bang bang bang and then a little comic relief. Basically at my own expense and then back but I never want you to forget that that comic relief serves a purpose.

So you can take a deep breath. So you can exhale so you can go over some things and then I'm gonna go back right at you again. So I just gonna tip tip my hand and tell you that right away chapter 11 to 15 the rejection of the king.

We will not have this king rule over us is basically what's happening. They reject John the Baptist the Kings forerunner. So what do you think they'll do with Jesus? They'll reject him, too. These recalcitrant people in these recalcitrant cities say we don't want this king.

This is not the kind of king we want and so Jesus responds in chapter 11 verse 20 with a denunciation. This is a word that has strong Emphatic indignation in it. Then he began Matthew 11 20 to denounce the cities.

Of course the people in him is what we're after in which most of his miracles Literally in the Greek his very many miracles were done because they did not repent. With Jesus's miracles. They were signs to show people that he was the Messiah.

The first time I ever went to Las Vegas I walked onto the strip and you would drive or walk by some of these hotels and there were so many lights That I could feel the warmth on the strip and That's exactly what's going on here.

Jesus is doing so many signs in front of the people that it's a sign to point that Jesus With a hot bright light of focus is the Messiah and they say no. You did that miracle. No, don't believe you and our loving kind compassionate Savior says in verse 21 Woe to you Corazon.

Woe to you Bethsaida. For if the miracles had occurred in Tyre and Sidon which occurred in you they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. Nevertheless, I say to you it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the day of judgment than for you and With divine abandonment and judgment you reject the king the king rejects you.

And with language all the Jews would understand in verse 23 Referring back to Babylon in Isaiah and you Capernaum will not be exalted to heaven. Will you? Know the opposite and Then interestingly don't miss this the king is rejected and so now he turns to a very Interesting form of communication that is for the insiders alone if the masses won't receive the teaching Then he's going to teach a different way.

And what is that different way? Parables chapter 13 the Consequences of rejection is that Jesus will speak in parables chapter 13 verse 10 and the disciples came and said to him Why do you speak to them in parables?

Jesus answered them to you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven. But to them the rejecters it has not been granted. Verse 13 therefore I speak to them in parables because while seeing they do not see while hearing they do not hear nor do they understand.

Isaiah didn't just speak of the forerunner to the King John the Baptist, but he also spoke of this verse 14. You will keep on hearing but you will not understand. You will keep on seeing but will not perceive for the heart of his people.

This people has become dull. With their ears they scarcely hear and they have closed their eyes otherwise they would have seen. They would see with their eyes here with the ears and understand with their heart and return and I would heal them and thankfully verse 16 but blessed are your eyes because they see and your ears because they hear and Here the king has been rejected and now he has a royal prerogative to say I will disclose and reveal to the people that I decide.

To the reveal and disclose to chapter 16 to 20 the instruction by the king. Even Moses knew back in Deuteronomy 18 that there would be a prophet who is coming the prophet and that prophet Proclaims truth and so Jesus certainly does lots of instruction as the king chapter 16 through 20 the instruction of the king.

Verse 13 it centers on this in chapter 16 now when Jesus came to into the district of Caesarea Philippi He was asking his disciples. Who do you say that the Son of Man is? Some say John the Baptist and others Elijah, but still others Jeremiah or one of the prophets and then with the plural he said to them who do you plural say that I am and Simon Peter stands up and says you're the Christ.

You're the anointed one. You're the king the Son of the Living God. This is amazing verse 17 and Jesus said to him blessed are you Simon bar Jonah? Because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but my father who is in heaven.

Yes, I'm the Son of God and you're the son of bar Jonah. That's what you are. You're the son of Jonah. And you just didn't come up with this. How could you come up with it because I'm a different kind of Messiah and then in one of all the strangest things that happened verse 21 of Matthew 16 this prophet King Tells what's going to happen to him.

Here's the king. He'll be exalted. He'll sit at the right hand of his father. He's going to rule righteously. He's going to get rid of the Romans. He's going to get rid of the Pharisees the scribes the Sadducees any other false leader he's going to get rid of them all.

But what did Jesus say that's not quite yet verse 21 suffer. Be killed and be raised up on the third day and Peter now rebukes Jesus. God forbid it may it never be this can in no wise happen. Peter's name's rock.

Peter's profession is a rock and now Peter is another kind of rock. But it's the kind of rock that you stumble over a scandal on rock. Get behind me Satan. You're a stumbling block to me for you are not setting your mind on God's interests.

But on man's you're trying to do the same thing that Satan did back in Matthew chapter 4 and you're trying to do it now. It's hard to think of a king who's going to have to die be raised from the dead, but this is the king.

The Coronation and Royal Entry of the King

Chapter 21 and 22 the coronation of the king. Chapter 21 through 22 the coronation of the king. One of my favorite things to do is teach about misconceptions in the Bible like tonight we're going to do a series on a message on grace and I'm going to talk about lies that grace a biblical view of grace.

Correct, for instance God votes for you. Satan votes against you. You cast a dividing vote. Well, that's not true. We're gonna think talk about things tonight like without the grace of God that you Myself included are no better than Judas Herod or Hitler things like that.

Simple things. God helps those who help themselves. Not true. Well, there's some misconceptions here that if we're not careful We're gonna come to this passage and we're gonna say Matthew 21 and 22. It's Palm Sunday, and it's the triumphal entry.

It's not Palm Sunday. It's Paul Monday, and it's not the triumphal entry. That's later. This is on Monday. And this is the royal entry. This is the coronation. This isn't the triumphal entry. This is Jesus saying I'm the king.

I'm the Messiah. Many people say Oh Jesus never blatantly said he's the king. He said it with words here that echo through eternity. Jesus is the king. He is the Messiah, but it's a funny kind of coronation.

I Think we'll probably many of us live to see Prince Charles take over as the king of England. And what kind of pomp and circumstance do you think they'll have? Well, maybe Prince Charles wouldn't live to see the day for him to be the king, but if he does there is going to be Other leaders there from countries.

There will be religious leaders. There will be jewels. There will be soldiers. There will be Dignitaries, there will be regalia and music and all kinds of things. And what does what do we see here? Nothing like that.

This is a different kind of king and there's a different kind of coronation. None of the wild things that we would think of in night. 1838 Queen Victoria of England wore a crown encrusted with giant rubies and sapphires surrounding a 309 carat diamond.

Her scepter was capped with an even larger diamond cut from the Star of Africa weighing 516 and one-half carats. Behold your Queen now, we have a different coronation a different kind of Messiah. Watch this verse 1 chapter 21.

When they had approached Jerusalem and had come to Bethphage as at the Mount of Olives then Jesus sent two disciples saying go into the village opposite you and immediately You'll find a Ben-Hur like chariot gold-plated a white Stallion fit for a king like Antionus Epiphany.

I don't even know the guy's name. It's just some old king who ran in. There have been other kings who have ridden in on white stallions. You'll find a donkey tied there and a colt with her untie them and bring them to me.

No wealth, but poverty. No grandeur, but humility on a beast of burden. Mother goes easier. Oh if the offspring comes with and it's a special kind of animal a Kind that no one has set on. Often in the Bible unused animals were used for holy purposes and If anyone says anything to you verse 3, you'll say the Lord has needed them and immediately he'll send them.

Here is the king pressing into service anyone anything any animal any time? What's going on here verse 4 this took place to fulfill what was spoken through the Prophet actually through Zechariah 9 and Isaiah 62.

500 years earlier in Isaiah say to the daughter of Zion behold, you're what? King is coming to you gentle mounted on a donkey even on a colt the foal of a beast of burden and Thankfully verse 6 the disciples went and did just as Jesus had instructed them and brought the donkey and the colt and laid their coats on them and he sat on the coats and As Julius Caesar said as he looked at the Rubicon River the die is Cast.

Jesus is proclaiming to the world. I'm king. Crystal-clear public proclamation. I Am the king of Israel. Oh, I found the guy's name Judas Maccabeus. He's not riding in on a white horse. Not a war horse, but a donkey even a colt.

No sword. No crown. No chariots. It's a message of peace. Not in my wildest dreams would I ever think the king of the universe enters this way and what do the crowds do? They knew exactly because they knew the Old Testament.

Most of the crowds spread their coats on the road and others were cutting branches from the Trees and spreading them on the road and it's loud. There's lots of crowds there. Jeremiah's thinks that maybe there are a hundred eighty thousand people during Passover.

Tons of people thirty years later Josephus thinks that there are 2 .5 million people in the city. They got the picture and they say they put their coats down and they say basically we place Ourselves at your feet.

You can walk over us as one commentator said you can step on us. We are nothing to you and we were at your feet. And so you are the king use us as the red carpet if you will. Good insight from second Kings 9.

Then they hurried and each man took his garment and placed it under him on the bare steps and blew the trumpet saying Jehu is king. When a king's comes, what do you do? There's all kinds of stuff in the newspaper about well president Bush had some faux pas and he didn't know what to do.

And he winked at her and he didn't shake and he didn't do this and all that stuff. Well these Jewish people in Passover they knew Proper King etiquette and that is sprawl out on the ground including your clothes.

Including your robes including everything so you would all say he is king. They got it and they waved these palm branches of joy and salvation. 200 years in the making people have been thinking that palm branches are this national victorious a Grandeur for a king that would come and liberate them from the Roman citizen Roman occupation palm branches joy victory at last.

Interestingly Luke says the disciples began to praise God joyfully with a loud voice. And there was lots of people look at verse 9 the crowds going ahead of him and those who followed there were some who already in Jerusalem who are ahead of him.

There were some coming from from the healing of Lazarus and they were all going together in a large group shouting Hosanna the son of David blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord Hosanna in the highest.

These two crowds come together and they just burst out with praise. Hosanna saved now Jesus. You're the king right from Psalm 118. Harris said it is clear from the words of the psalm shouted by the crowd that Jesus is being proclaimed as the Messianic King.

He's blessed the coming one. Are you the expected one Matthew 11? Yes, he is Hosanna in the highest even to the son of David. He's the king even the king of Israel and verse 10 it says. When they had entered Jerusalem all the city was stirred and said now who is this how fast did they change?

He's the king we worship in a door and all of a sudden what's going on? Luke says the Pharisees right after this began to say to Jesus teacher rebuke your disciples. This is politically incorrect. This is offensive.

This is intolerant. How can you have your disciples say that you're the king quit it right now? And what does Jesus say in? Words that are so Indicative of this time. God's perfect timing. Jesus said I tell you of these become silent the stones will cry out.

Luke 1940 I'm the king and if you quiet my disciples then the stones are gonna shout out. I am King. Jesus is King. Somebody's got to say something even if inanimate objects broadcast this Chapter 23.

The king rejects the leadership of Israel. The king rejects the leadership of Israel. We're going along pretty pretty well, aren't we? All right. Gotta slow down. Now there's all kinds of woes here and these woes aren't these kind of you know nonchalant.

Whoa. You know, I got in a fender-bender. Whoa. Slept in whoa. These words are severe and harsh and damning whoa, and there's seven woes found in Matthew 23 13 to 36 and There are woes about don't use the scripture there.

They're not using the scripture the right way. That's the third. Whoa, there's woes about Being zealous yet doing more harm than good. The six. Whoa, but the first whoa is the worst one verse 13. Whoa, do you leaders because you do not recognize Jesus is King.

You've rejected the kingdom. Verse 13, but woe to you scribes and Pharisees hypocrites because you shut off the kingdom of heaven. How do you shut off the kingdom of heaven? It's game of heaven some kind of amorphous blob of goo.

No, the kingdom of heaven is brought by the king. You reject the king. You reject the kingdom of heaven. You're rejecting the king. For you do not enter in yourselves. Nor do you allow those who are entering to go in and here the first whoa as Jesus rejects.

The leadership is you didn't recognize me as a king. Having a kingdom you are damned whoa. Chapter 24 to 25 the predictions of the king's return. Here the king is going to come back the return of the king.

Oh, yeah, he's told the disciples suffer die be raised. There's going to be a return of the king. There's been the royal entry into Jerusalem, but there's going to be the triumphal entry that soon. Chapter 24 and 25 look at verse 3 of chapter 24 if you will.

You probably read this this week if you've done your homework. I was greeting this morning and I looked at someone they're reading their Bible, you know, what are you doing? I'm doing my homework cramming before this this morning.

And as he was sitting chapter 24 verse 3 on the Mount of Olives. The disciples came to him privately. Tell us when will these things happen? What will be the sign of your coming at the end of the age?

All relating to the destruction of the temple and other things. And Jesus answered and said to them see to it that no one misleads you. Take heed you are going to be tricked if you if you don't watch it.

You need to keep your eyes peeled. You need to be very very discerning because it's going to be a tricky tricky time for many. Look at these one of the misleading signs for many will come in my name saying I am the Christ and will mislead many.

There are a Thousand people running around saying their Messiah over the centuries. In the 1600s many Jews thought Sabbatai Sevi was a Messiah until he converted to Islam and then that was that Mark says many will come in my name saying that I am.

And the devil is one man said never seems to run out of counterfeits. Barak Abba a Jewish revolt leader. 132 ad. Today we have them as well some fruitcake down in Houston saying that he's Jesus driving all kinds of fancy cars.

My favorite one though is Marshall Applewhite of the Heaven's Gate cult. He named himself do do the reincarnation of Jesus. Hi, I'm the reincarnation of Jesus. Pleased to meet you. My first name's do you already know that's wrong.

I mean just how stupid can it get but people follow because we are born worshipers, right? But there's going to be a very easy way to see the Messiah when he comes. Chapter 25 verse 31. But when the Son of Man comes in his Rolls-Royce and all the angels with him, I mean, it's so stupid.

I Have the Spirit of Jesus in me. I was watching some Ted Koppel thing or whatever. Whoever's the new guy. I'm Jesus and I live in Houston in the suburbs and he doesn't teach the Bible. That's a good clue.

When the Son of Man comes in his glory and all the angels with him then he will sit on his King's throne his glorious throne. This friends is the triumphal entry. Rid it from your mind that this kind of Hosanna deal in Matthew 21 and 22 or Luke 19 or the other passages that is his royal entry.

That is his coronation. This is the triumphal entry. Mark says the Son of Man coming in the clouds. Divine presence he is no longer concealing himself. He is revealing himself with all his glory. No more hiding Moses in the cleft of the rock, but a demonstration of the glory of God.

If you think the transfiguration was awesome. Then wait to you have this happen and this King when he comes in triumph verse 32 says all the nations will be Gathered before him. He's a king and he will separate them from one another as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.

Sheep from the goats and he will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left. He will come in triumph and it'll be unlike the first coming. Revelation 19 speaks of this it says of Jesus and on his robe and on his thigh.

He has a name written. What's that name? We just had mr. Goddard here say it. How old are you? Five years old. Let's close in prayer. You got the message and he has a name written on his thigh. And if there'd be somebody up on a horse Have a robe and the robe would open up what would be at eye level to make it obvious to everyone right there.

King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Displayed on the part of his body that cannot escape any notice. King of Kings and Lord of Lords. And when you double names like that, there's just more emphasis of the supremacy.

The King’s Sacrifice and the Empty Tomb

The riders Christ Jesus he's coming back in triumph. Yes. But there's a sacrifice first chapter 26 and 27 the King sacrifice. Most other Kings want people to sacrifice for them. They're selfish. They want to have monuments that Show that they live on even after they've died.

Herod's Herodium. Masada the Taj Mahal by Muslim Shah Jahan. Mausoleums tombs statutes arches obelisks gravestones columns cenotaphs. But this King comes to give. Sacrificially, this is the Lamb of God.

This is the King who comes to give himself for his people. He doesn't want tribute from his people. He doesn't want part of the booty that they got in wartime. He doesn't want taxes are part of the produce of the land.

He doesn't want forced labor. He doesn't want some of the the land itself or any kind of tribute. He comes to give. Chapter 26. Judas betrays him. Jesus has his last meal. He's in the Garden of Gethsemane.

He's grabbed. Peter denies the king. And then in Matthew 27 verse 11. Now Jesus stood before the governor and the governor questioned him saying are you the? King of the Jews. And Jesus said to him you say Pilate knew the people.

Pilate knew the culture. Pilate had comparative religions. He knew what the triumphal entry of the royal entry meant. Luke 23 verse 2. Saying he himself is Christ a king. He's perverting the nation. They began to accuse him.

Pilate says in Luke 23 3. Are you the king of the Jews it is as you say? Jesus doesn't say anything back chapter 27 verse 15 now at the feast. The governor was accustomed to release for the people any one prisoner and they did not release the king.

They released the murderer. And what did they say of the king chapter 27 verse 3? Why what evil has he done, but they kept shouting all the more to drown out Pilate crucify him. So they got their wishes verse 37 of chapter 27 and above his head they put on the charge against him.

Which read this is Jesus what? King of the Jews. That's his crime the royal son of God. Chapter 28. And finally the proof of kingship. How do we really know beyond a shadow of a doubt that he's a real king?

What kind of proof is given his entourage all his counselors all his captains scribes? Recorders confidants harems chroniclers overseers chief ministers wise men. The size of the temple that he lives in.

Royal fortifications temple palace complexes. What do we get an empty tomb? That's what we get. Jesus is the only king and he proves that there's not going to be the next king in a long line of kings.

By having himself raised from the dead by the Father by the Spirit and by himself Jesus is raised from the dead. Romans chapter 1 verse 4 says that he was declared to be the Son of God with power by the what Resurrection the word declared is horizon where we get the word horizon.

It separates the sky from the ground it delineates. It demarcates it separates you want to know what separates Jesus from everyone else who said they're King. What separates Jesus from every other religious leader is that he was raised from the dead.

He's alive. This is like no other King. This is like no other King. We've ever met no succession. No hereditary succession. No election of the King. Jesus holds this office for life because he conquered death.

French Philosopher, I don't even know how to say the guy's last name a gut. Auguste Comte. C-o-m-t-e. How's that pronounced? Okay, Comte it is once told Thomas Carlyle. He wanted to start a new religion.

Very good. All you have to do is to be crucified rise a third day and get the world to believe you're still alive. Then your new religion will have a chance. Why do you think by the way a side note that everybody wants to attack the resurrection?

There should be a response. Yes. When there's revelation the Word of God revealed to us there should always be a response. When there's scripture reading they're singing when there's preaching. What's the response?
