Questioning Latter Day Saints Article of Faith on Priesthood Authority

LDS article of faith number five says we believe a man must be called of God by prophecy and by the laying of hands of those who are in authority to be able to preach the gospel.

We know though that this is contrary to what the Word of God says and in reality we know that what they're saying is we need good works and we need our own righteousness to be able to inherit the

Melchizedek priesthood. But the Bible demonstrates from the Old to the New Testament that the

Melchizedek priesthood belongs to only one, the righteous one, Jesus Christ.

And so it says in first Peter chapter two it says of us that we are a holy nation, a royal priesthood, a people for God's own possession that we might proclaim the excellencies of him who has called us out of darkness and into his marvelous light.
