Candra. I'm born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. I'm 35 and I'm here.

My niece found out she was pregnant and she didn't know what the future held, you know, with the child's father and everything.

It was like a bad situation. And so the first thing she thought to do was have an abortion. And so she looked up Planned Parenthood online and we went to the one in Tempe, Arizona.

And so we seen Sherry outside with her boar horn, you know, choose life.

And that's what we're supposed to do, we're supposed to choose life, you know. Abortion is wrong. So she pulled Vanessa to the side as we were going into Planned Parenthood and Vanessa broke into tears, you know.

And she chose life. So two years later, I had got in trouble with the law.

Well, actually, a year later, I had got in trouble with the law real bad. So I had to do a whole bunch of stuff.

I had lost my, I had two older kids, which I had lost to the system.

And I just, that was a time in my life where I just never thought that I would come back from. You know,

I was all the way down to the ground, ashes. I never thought that there would be any chance of me coming up from those ashes.

And ever since I made the decision to get in trouble with the law, it was like nothing but bad decisions after the next.

And so I got pregnant the next year. And like I said,

I already had two older children. And when I found out I was pregnant,

I just didn't know what to do. I was just so, I was hurt. I didn't have my other kids.

And I just felt like, you know, bringing another child into this world, it wouldn't be fair to the child because I don't know my future, the outcome of my future.

I don't know what's going to happen. I don't know if I'm going to get my children back. Both my parents are dead.

I don't really have anybody. I don't have a support system. It was just a whole lot of just negative thinking.

You know, I wasn't thinking positive in any type of way. I didn't know if I wanted to keep the baby. I didn't know if I was going to give the baby up for adoption.

Here I am in my 30s. I already have two children by two different guys.

And on top of that, I'm pregnant again by another guy. And so I'm like, not only is that going to be tough because I don't have help with my, you know, my children's father don't help me with the other two kids.

And then this most likely, you know, was a one -time thing. He's not going to help me. So I'm like,

I'm thinking of that. And then I'm thinking about the judgment because I grew up in the church. You know, of course, the recommendation is to be married before you have children.

I was not married, and I was just ashamed. And so I didn't know what I was going to do. I'm like, am

I going to keep this baby? Am I going to give it up for adoption? I was just really scared and didn't know what to do.

So I called Sherry and reached out to Sherry. And she guided me, you know.

She helped me believe in myself again. You know, she's a woman herself.

And, you know, I'm just glad I made that call because I rose from my ashes.

And I chose to have my baby and keep my baby. And she's a beautiful little girl.

She's about to be 4 years old. Sherry, she does not judge you. She know life happens.

She was not judgmental. And that's the main thing I was afraid of, somebody judging me because I'm not perfect.

There's no one on this earth that's perfect. But me being in my situation, she just handled me very delicately.

You know, she was telling me some Bible verses in reference to my situation. And she was telling me, you can do this.

You're strong. I've seen your strength before. You can do this. Don't give up. Choose life.

And that's how I ended up helping. That helped me make a decision of keeping my baby.

Sherry helped me by attending to my needs. The whole time

I was pregnant, she was vocal in seeing how I was doing. Just, you know, making sure

I made it to my appointments. You know, how's the baby growing? What are you having?

She was just so into me having a healthy delivery and a healthy baby.

She helped me like she helped Vanessa, you know, as far as with clothing.

She gave me a crib, diapers. She helped me a great deal.

And I didn't have to pay for anything. And I know that was nothing but God. I know that I made the right decision.

You know, my baby, you never know what your child could be. You know, you could have a future president. You know, you could have a future doctor.

You could have a future lawyer. You know, just got to give it a chance and pray about it and let

God do the rest, put it in God's hands. And that's how Sherry, you know, she helped me change my mind frame.

Because, you know, I don't care what anybody thinks because this is my life I have to live. And when

I go to, you know, when Judgment Day comes, I have to talk to God. I can't talk to God about Bob.

I have to talk to God about Candra and what I decided to do. And so from now on,

I want to live, you know, righteously. And so choosing to have a baby is, you know, when you find out you're pregnant, just choose to have the baby.

Just have the baby because it could be the best blessing ever to hit your life.

What I would say to a mother that's contemplating abortion, I would say choose life because whatever situation you're in, good, bad, you know, you just don't know or you think your life is going to be over, a baby, having a baby can drastically change your life.

And most of the time for the better. You never know what, like I said before, you never know what the future holds.

You just can't think of yourself in that moment because you have a child growing inside of you. And so you have to think about the well -being of that baby.

You know, your parents didn't, your mother didn't abort you, and you're here on this earth for a reason.

So just, you know, choose life and let that baby love the baby with all of you.

And when a mother, a pregnant mother, hear those voices outside saying choose life, you know, have the baby,

I think you should definitely listen to them because some of them even had abortions and, you know, they regret it to this day.

And so you can't take that back. Once you go to that abortion clinic and they take that baby out, you can't take that back and you have to live with that your whole entire life.

So, and it could be, you know, you could have health problems from that. You never know what could happen. So I would say choose life.

And you know that thing, you know, our intuition is very strong, the woman's intuition. And nine times out of ten, you're going to, you should listen to that voice because you know that's the right choice to make.

Oh, my goodness, she means the world to me. I don't know where I would be right now if I would have made this decision to get rid of her or, you know, even adopt her, you know, in that sense.

I just love her to death. She gave me life. She brought back life to me because I just felt like a part of me died when

I made the, you know, mistakes that I made in life. But she brought me back to life.

You know, she looks just like me. This is like a mini me. You know, this is just a spitting image of me.

So she put life back into me, and she's a very happy baby, and she makes me happy.

I don't regret not having an abortion because, I mean, you could just look at her and just fall in love with her.

You know, she's just such a beautiful baby. And, you know, I was already a mother as well, and I love my other two children to death.

And she's just an extra added love to the family, you know.

Like I said, I wouldn't know what I would have did if I were to— I don't know where my life would be if I were to have had an abortion, you know.

And I know a lot of blessings came after I had her as well. You know, I'm a returning college student.

Even though I'm 35, like I said, she put life back into me. I'm going to school for psychology.

I want to be a psychologist one day. God has been blessing me tremendously with jobs, you know, and life is not over.

It's not over at all. And like I said, if you feel like you don't have a support system, you could just find that strength within yourself.

That's what I had to do, find that push, that extra push. Just got to find it, just pray about it, and God will give it to you, and he will show you the light.
