In dealing with people for several years, thousands of people, one thing I can tell you is 99 .9 % of people are not bad people.

They may make poor choices, but deep down, they've got a good heart. And stick his face in those tombs.

And do with him what he did here with Ezekiel. The sea turtles are born on land. The first thing they do is turn to the water.

Because instinctively, they know that they were created to be in the water. What do you do instinctively?

What is your sweet spot? And when you flow in it, it is natural to you. Cause him to move about, around about, everywhere looking and looking, seeing nothing.

For acre after acre after acre. But dry, boom! Transgender kids is a really harder day.

What's going on in Florida is, as my mother would say, close to sinful. I mean, it's just terrible what they're doing.

And so, you know, have we sold our soul to the devil?

How else can you explain what's going on here? So, I have sold my soul to the devil. There are millions of ways to be a human being.

And many ways, many paths to what you call God. The first step to spiritual power is recognizing your impotence and the greatness of God.

This is what I want you to see. When we look at the sin and rebellion against God and the world around us, we realize just how powerless our rhetoric is in changing hearts and minds.

The only thing that can turn depraved sinners away from sin towards faith and repentance is a supernatural work of God.

Rather than cause us to lose hope, this truth should instead give us hope as we proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ to the world.

We have a world to win. Do not think that I'm standing up here this evening saying that all is dark and gloomy and we should circle the wagons and just wait for the second coming.

And why do they seem to be mad specifically at traditional Christians? We can't think of any trans person who's ever been murdered by a pastor.

As far as we know, that has never happened. So it's not an actual threat of violence from Christians that's inspiring some trans people to buy

AR -15s. No, it's got to be more fundamental than that. And it is. The trans movement is the mirror image of Christianity and therefore its natural enemy.

And it can be done, but it cannot be done in the power of a man. But it can be done in the power of God.

The world is always in desperate need of God's intervention and saving grace. And as hostility towards Christians in our culture goes from bad to worse, the world needs

God's intervention more than ever and the people of God to proclaim the truth about God more than ever.

As amazing as it was for God to create the universe, it should be even more amazing to us for God to transform sinful rebels into God -honoring sons and daughters.

I believe that in the regeneration of a soul there is manifested more of the power of God than in the very creation of the universe.

Because he created the universe ex nihilo, out of nothing. But when he saves a man, he recreates a mass of fallen, corrupt humanity into something glorious, a child of God.

This kind of miraculous recreation is of course not at all powerful through our own words and efforts.

Although God certainly uses our words and efforts as a means through which he regenerates and gives life to helpless and hostile sinners.

When we proclaim the gospel, our hope is not that our words would convince those who hear our words.

But rather, our hope is that it's God who has the power to make our words effective.

It can be done, the kingdom can and will be extended, but not by your power and not by mine, but his.

Oh give me, give me weak men and the world can be changed. To properly understand just how amazing the gospel is, we need to first understand the depth of our sin and depravity as humans.

We are not at all people who desperately want to obey God and be saved from our sin.

It's not saying that man is treading water in a storm and crying out for God's help.

It's not saying that man is floating unconscious in the water and needs to be revived a bit so that he might extend his hand and a savior might take hold of it.

Rather, the truth is the precise opposite. In our natural state, we not only have no desire for God, but we have desires for everything that is contrary to God.

What is it saying? Imagine with me for a moment, a rotting putrid corpse at the bottom of a cesspool.

He sounds gay. Oh wait, what do you mean? He went, some gays are a bit like that. He thought God was having a hissy fit. Girls acting loose, bad girls acting snotty.

Let it go, girl. Let it out, girl. Turn it up like you came up out the South, girl. You see, you hear he was dead.

Then you hear in his trespasses and sins, in the sphere of trespasses and sins.

Yes, Adam is involved, but not just Adam, his own trespasses and sins. So if you want to get a good picture of what we're dealing with when we're preaching the gospel to men, it's a dead corpse lying at the bottom of a cesspool that was created from the contamination, the moral filth that was excreted from his own body.

Lots of people don't fit neatly into a gender binary, even people we don't consider to be intersex.

It's a complicated spectrum. It's not complicated. And not just that. Although he is dead to God, laying down there, dead to God, there is someone who's put a ladle in the pond and is stirring it.

He may be dead to God, but he's animated and responsive to sin and the demonic.

And now Emma Watson, famously known for portraying Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter film series, responded to JK's tweet saying, quote,

The solution to the depth of human sin and rebellion against God is not to simply encourage and affirm sinners in their sin, to make them feel good about themselves, which many supposed

Christian pastors do. So come to me with your silly preaching and tell me how you're going to help sinners.

You know, what I would teach would just be more how to live a great life. So I want to preach for a moment, and God told me to tell you this.

It's always been in you. She has written several successful books, New York Times bestsellers, including, quote, 20

Ways to Make Every Day Better, end quote, Four Steps to a New You. No, what law sinners desperately need is not preaching that makes them feel good about themselves and even placates and enables them in their sin, but rather preaching that is centered around the gospel of Jesus Christ, preaching that points them towards their heinous sin and their desperate need for a savior.

No, for this sinner to be helped, it requires a magnificent demonstration of the power of God that comes only through the preaching of the gospel in the power of the

Holy Spirit. Sin entered the world, and death through sin, and everyone born from that man through ordinary generation inherited that man's sin nature, and because of that sin nature, sins proceed from it, and our world is broken because of that sin, and we stand guilty before our holy and righteous

God. We're not just saved from the penalty of sin. We're not just saved from the power of sin, but one day we're glorified and saved from the very presence of sin.

That's the gospel that we preach. That's the gospel that we need, and that's the gospel that's more than enough.

When we consider the depth of human depravity, some argue that if humans are dead in their sins and unable to come to Christ apart from God's miraculous intervention, then it is unfair for God to judge people for what they are unable to do.

There's a very simple answer to this objection, and it's that people aren't just unable to come to Christ.

They are unable because they are unwilling. That being the case, how can that man be held accountable for his deeds?

The answer, man's inability, his impotence, it's moral. Man cannot because he will not, and he will not because he hates

God. All I can say is suck it, Jesus! This award is my God, no! I don't care what the

Bible says. Like, I feel like it's a clown show, like sitting here trying to decipher what your little mythical book has to say.

And he hates God because God is good, and he hates a good God because he has fallen, this man, corrupt, a hater of light and a lover of darkness.

Our leadership over there has been so welcoming to my not -at -all -secret -gay agenda.

Spiritual inability, man's spiritual inability is the result of his willing hostility.

The terrifying truth is that if given a chance, sinful humans will always choose sin over submission and obedience to a holy and righteous

God. We have this idea that there's all these people in hell, and they're all sorry for what they did, and they all want to run away from their sin, and if they just had one more chance to bow before the feet of Christ, they would do it.

That is not the case, and I learned that from Romans 1. They have been totally and completely turned over to their own lust and their own evil.

Abortion can be another word for mercy. Just because you get pregnant doesn't mean you get to keep that baby. Yeah, it's a health decision.

And it can be. And if God were to condescend and stand in hell and throw open the doors of hell and tell everyone in there, come out, acknowledge me as God, and come out, oh, they'd run to the door.

They would run to the door, and they would slam it shut, and they would say, we would rather rot in hell than stand in the presence of your righteousness.

Sinful humanity needs the gospel, and the gospel is far more than merely convincing people intellectually about the truth concerning Jesus Christ.

The gospel certainly starts with preaching, but it requires the supernatural power of God to change the hearts of lost, depraved sinners.

When we're preaching the gospel, we have to understand there is no power in the eloquence of a man.

There's no intellect that is sufficient. A supernatural work of God has to occur, and it occurs when a man lashes himself to the gospel and preaches the gospel.

Let's conclude this story from Paul Washer about what it looks like to truly preach the gospel with the goal of seeing true conversion rather than with the superficial goal of getting someone to merely repeat a prayer.

There's a story I love to share. I've told it a million times. When I was up near just British Columbia, almost near Alaska, and I'm preaching, and this old man comes in right when

I get up in the pulpit, a monster of a man. He's the saddest human being I think I ever met. And after I got through preaching,

I immediately started preaching the gospel. There were just a few people in the building actually, maybe 20. And when

I got done, I walked straight to him, and I said, sir, what's wrong with you? And he said, the doctor just told me I'm going to die.

I said, when? He said, I got about two months, he says. And I said, here's what I'll do. I'll cancel my flight tomorrow, and I will sit here with you, and I will preach this gospel to you until one of two things happens.

You're converted or you die and go to hell. And we sat down that night. And what do you do? I said, do you understand the message

I preached? He said, of course. A child would have understood that. What would most preachers have done? All right, would you like to pray this prayer?

But he said, is that it? I just understand it? I said, no. So we go through from Old Testament to New Testament for over an hour on repentance and faith, just reading

Scripture, because faith cometh by hearing, reading Scripture, explaining Scripture. This is repentance.

This is faith. This is repentance. This is faith. This is why he died. At the end of it, I said, do you understand?

He said, I understand. But is that it? And I said, well, let's pray. And after prayer, I said, well, let's start again.

I said, let's just go to John 3 .16. He said, we've already read it. And I said, well, and I remember his big hands.

The Bible was on his lap. He was a mountain of a man. And I said, read it. And he goes, okay. For God so loved the world that He gave

His only Son, that whosoever. And his hands started going like this. He goes, I'm saved.

I said, what? I said, I'm saved. I have eternal life. I'm going to heaven. I said, how do you know?

He said, haven't you ever read this text? What happened? It was the Spirit of God illuminated his mind and regenerated his heart.

And I didn't have to convince him that he was going to heaven. There's so much power in the gospel.
