Christ has set us free. Amen. I'm gonna read Galatians 5 verse 1

For freedom Christ has set us free Stand firm therefore and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery

That's some harsh language there. Absolutely. That's the yoke of slavery. Yeah freedom of Christ Hmm, I feel like both of those things can be misconstrued and misinterpreted and used for our own kind of Doctrine or denomination or hey, this is slavery.

Hey, this is freedom, right? We can be like super free and do whatever the heck we want or oh man

So it's like what are we talking about here? Yep, right? Yeah I mean, I really think that we can put ourselves in bondage as Christians because we

We may look at something like oh, no I could I can go and sleep with ten girls and it doesn't matter

I'm free, you know, like it's you know, and it's like don't know that's not it all what

Christian is saying Yeah, well, they're out there There's there's a lot of a lot of people a lot of a lot of dudes

I used to hang out with but anyway But yeah, man, it's it's just it's just one of those things it's like Set set free, you know, we are we're set free, but we do not you know, it's it's from Romans 6

I mean, it's it's we do not let grace abound right? We just go do whatever we want covered by grace

No, that's not what it is, man. It's like yeah, we're set free for sure and We we live out our lives in a way that is not in in bondage to our old

Self and and the slavery of what the enemy wants to put on our life, right? Yeah What's really interesting here is in the very next verse

Paul is talking about if you accept Circumcision Christ will be no advantage to you like that'd be that's a raw term if you're talking to Jews Yeah, like circumcision is how they were set apart.

Hey, we're under the law. We obey these certain things We've been circumcised. He's going. Yeah, if you just obey the law to obey the law

Yeah, right for righteousness sake in this weird kind of hypocrisy then Christ is to no advantage of you.

There's freedom in Christ Because we now have the indwelling of the Spirit now The bad side of both of those is you go way too far one way

Yeah, and you have well I could do anything I want right because I have I'm not under the old law right the old covenant

I'm that under the law. We've heard Christians say right? Oh, no, you're still under the Mosaic law, but it's been fulfilled

Right and your freedom comes in the fact that you're not justified by the law, right?

God doesn't look at you and go. Oh, did you covet this week? You broke the law. You're not justified No, we've been justified through Christ, right?

And that's the beautiful part of the freedom of Christ I've also said to in my past that I found freedom in Christ and people go

Restrictive you can't go do you can't go do these drugs or drink this drink or speak this way and it goes and I and I say well, no,

I've I do have a restriction in those things. I'm tempered, right? I don't say certain things.

I don't act a certain way. I don't drink certain things That you're like like trying to know but I do but in Temperance right in that temperance of those things.

There's a freedom of oh, I'm not doing something illegal I'm not having a consequence of a sin that that is poor poor for me and my family like that's the freedom in Christ Too right.

It's like there's freedom in Christ when there's when it's in moderation and within the law and within You know

Christ's graces. It's like people just think black or white on it freedom all the way one way or law all the way the other way and You know when you look at this verse here when you say for freedom in Christ has set us free

Stand firm therefore and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. How often do we go back to the yoke of slavery?

Oh, yeah, absolutely. And what should come out of us is is in Galatians 6 22 the fruits of the

Spirit That's love joy. Peace patience kindness goodness faithfulness Gentleness and self -control

It's self -control I mean that that's what it comes down to with your freedom You know in Christ.

Absolutely. We have been set free. Yes, but watch yourself So what a beautiful thing if you take anything away from this take away this yes, there's freedom in Christ But in that freedom right of having that freedom to play with those sharp objects as we say, right

Do not return to the yoke of slavery and oppression in that freedom.
