In the YouTube universe, some creators have more influence than others.
00:12
Creators like MrBeast, Arak, and Ryan Trahan average multiple millions of views per video, while almost every other creator does not.
00:22
Let's take a look at the kinds of messages some of the largest YouTube content creators are communicating, whether they are good or bad from a
00:30
Christian perspective, and then share some concluding thoughts about popular YouTubers in general, so make sure you stick around until the end to hear them.
00:39
Logan Paul is one of the largest creators on YouTube, with well over 20 million subscribers.
00:45
Logan became probably the most hated YouTuber after an incident in a Japanese forest, but has since regained his reputation largely because of his popular podcast,
00:55
Impulsive. However, in a recent podcast, Logan revealed his utter disdain for Christianity, expressing ideas that destroyed his reputation in the eyes of countless viewers.
01:06
Here, Logan expresses his contempt for trusting in Jesus. This is
01:29
George Janko, a very outspoken Christian and supposedly one of Logan's best friends. We'll talk a little more about George later.
01:37
Here we'll summarize some of the incredible things Logan said about Christianity. In this podcast,
01:43
George reveals Logan's animosity towards his Christian faith. A little later,
01:56
Logan said something completely blasphemous and untrue about Jesus. Next, after Mike suggests that Logan shouldn't be so mean to Christians, Logan disagrees, saying this.
02:36
This is where things get very interesting. Logan received criticism from Mike, George, and the comments section for saying that Christians deserve to be made fun of for believing that homosexuality and sex before marriage are sins.
02:50
But I actually think Logan may be more honest here. Logan hates those ideas and wants to make fun of them, and this kind of behavior from non -Christians is exactly how
03:00
Jesus says non -Christians will respond to the offensiveness of the Bible's teachings. This is going to be an unpopular opinion, but in some ways,
03:08
Logan's analysis of Christianity may actually be more correct than some of the things George and Mike are saying.
03:15
Now let's talk a little about George, who is an extremely popular YouTuber with over 1 .5
03:20
million subscribers. I do love that George is trying to defend the Christian faith against Logan's attacks, but I think there are some issues with how
03:29
George tries to defend Christianity. Logan accuses
04:00
George of believing that Muslims will go to hell, and George argues back that he doesn't know and that Muslims can actually go to heaven.
04:08
What George just said here basically summarizes the concern I have with popular YouTubers who are also
04:13
Christians. It seems that oftentimes, in order to stay as popular as they are, they need to present a
04:20
Christianity that does not offend anyone. Let's keep listening to some more of this fascinating exchange between Logan and George.
04:27
Doesn't your scripture say something about if you're not subscribed to Christianity, you're basically just saying that you're going to be banished?
04:33
You can only go through the Father, through the Son. Yeah, so Christianity believed that through Jesus, you could be saved.
04:39
You always yell at me about gay people. I never once talk about gay people. Because you're subscribed to the doctrine that perpetuates that information.
04:47
I'm subscribed to love my neighbor. Not everyone in your religion is. Yeah, but singling out.
04:53
Again, we see George is trying to defend his faith by saying he never calls homosexuality a sin and that all he believes is love my neighbor.
05:03
I'm certainly not trying to defend Logan's hostility to George and Christianity, but I am saying that Logan accusing
05:10
Christians of teaching that Jesus is the only way to heaven and that homosexuality is a sin is actually completely correct.
05:17
And instead of arguing against these points, a Christian like George should instead be trying to explain why those teachings are true, why they are not actually problems.
05:28
There's plenty more that Logan and George said during this podcast that is fascinating to analyze, but here are my overall thoughts.
05:36
First, Logan demonstrated that he absolutely despises biblical Christianity, as well as Christians who believe in biblical
05:44
Christianity, and that he will ruthlessly attack Christians who stand firm upon their beliefs.
05:49
But honestly, the Bible is clear that it is absolutely normal for non -Christians to hate
05:55
Christians. So I'm not at all surprised by the things Logan said during this podcast. Second, I really want to support
06:02
George in standing firm upon his Christian faith while being attacked by Logan. At the same time, it's extremely concerning to me that George defends his
06:12
Christian faith by essentially telling Logan, none of what you're saying is what I believe, when Logan is actually being pretty accurate in what he says the
06:19
Bible teaches. But while Logan Paul and George Janko are certainly very popular YouTubers, they don't compare to MrBeast, who is by far the most popular creator on YouTube with over 121 million subscribers, which means he is arguably the single most influential
06:38
YouTuber in existence. And honestly, I enjoy watching MrBeast's content because it's just very wholesome entertainment.
06:46
MrBeast's relationship with Christianity is very interesting too. In a recent interview, Jimmy said more about his
06:52
Christian upbringing than he ever has said before. You are a good Christian boy though. Is it true that your old
06:58
YouTube banner used to be like a Bible verse? It did. I used to go to a Christian school back in the day. Oh yeah. But now it's like, it's just kind of hard to tell what's right or what's wrong, like religion -wise.
07:07
There's so many and I don't know. I believe there is some kind of God, but how do you know? Here are some of MrBeast's old
07:13
YouTube banners that they are referring to, and you can see clearly that at one point in his life,
07:18
Jimmy was actually quite bold about sharing his faith. He even commented things like, thank you for watching me and I will always show my faith somehow on this channel.
07:28
I'm glad people like it. And a smiley face in response to the comment, I really love that you are not ashamed of showing people that you are a follower of Christ.
07:36
But sadly, like so many other Christian children who are not trained in apologetics against worldviews that oppose the
07:43
Bible, Jimmy eventually turned away from Christianity. Here's another interview
07:49
Jimmy did with Logan Paul, where he expressed the same idea. You fall in love and all of a sudden
07:54
I lose interest. You just can't make eye contact, dude. With any girls. Just don't do it.
08:00
Just keep a Bible in between us. Are you saving yourself for marriage? Are you?
08:06
No, absolutely not. I love this. Absolutely not. Yeah. What about... I'm not religious.
08:13
Okay. Yeah. So are you saving yourself for marriage? I'm not religious. At all? No, I'm not.
08:19
What about that Jesus? No. He's saying no. Yeah. Are you atheist? He just asked the same question in different ways.
08:24
The answer is the same. Atheists or agnostic? Agnostic. Like, I mean, the place is, the universe is complex and like, it's hard to believe someone didn't do it, but like,
08:32
I don't know. There's a lot. It's, you know. You're open -minded. So you believe in a creator or some sort of being.
08:38
But it's just like hard to tell. I mean, there's a lot out there, you know. He's just, he's agnostic. So he doesn't have proof to push him in either direction or another.
08:46
Hey, no, by the way, I get it. Same page as you. Yeah. So both Mr. Beast and Logan Paul are agnostic.
08:52
Although Mr. Beast's Christian upbringing seems to have had a significant influence upon his life. Mr. Beast's philanthropy is certainly very admirable and his life goal to create the best wholesome, entertaining content for millions is certainly a better goal than much of the depravity we see in our culture today.
09:10
Although Mr. Beast is no longer a Christian, Mr. Beast certainly spends a lot of time with other popular
09:16
Christian YouTubers. And the friend of Mr. Beast that I find most interesting is
09:21
Preston, another extremely popular YouTuber with over 22 million subscribers and another popular channel called
09:28
Preston Plays with over 13 million subscribers. Preston, like George, is extremely explicit about his
09:35
Christian faith. Here, Preston tells the story of how he met Mr. Beast. Fun fact.
09:41
This is when Jimmy and his mom's connected. They started going to Bible study together and he flew down, visited my office.
09:46
We took a photo at my old office in Grapevine, Texas. We had this like awesome fire mural. And I can't tell you why he was down there.
09:53
Jimmy and I were getting, we were receiving special training for certain things. That's all. I'm gonna leave it at that. It's encouraging that Preston met
09:59
Jimmy because their mothers met at a Bible study. And Preston boldly mentions his
10:04
Christian faith on all of his social media profiles. Preston's YouTube page says, I'm a 25 -year -old
10:10
Jesus -loving video game playing vlogger from the great state of Texas. In Psalm 23 1,
10:17
The Lord is my shepherd. I lack nothing. His Twitter page says, Jesus is king.
10:23
And his Instagram page says, Jesus first, always. And here's an interesting tweet from Preston that's just kind of hard to interpret.
10:31
I'm Christian but also support freedom. This comes with LGBT's freedom too.
10:37
I support Trump more than Hillary. But time will tell. Of course, Christians believe that members of the
10:42
LGBT movement should experience freedom. So there's technically nothing wrong with what
10:48
Preston tweeted. But freedom to redefine marriage? Not sure what Preston would say about that.
10:54
And interestingly, Preston here is supporting a Republican over a Democrat. However you interpret that.
11:00
Like with Mr. Beast, I like Preston and the wholesome entertaining content he creates. And my prayer is that he will stand firm upon all that the
11:09
Bible teaches. Another one of Mr. Beast's close friends is Carl Jacobs. Another extremely popular
11:15
YouTuber with over three and a half million subscribers. Carl regularly appears in Mr.
11:20
Beast's YouTube videos. Here's a pretty encouraging video of Carl singing Christian songs on stream with Sapnap.
11:28
Another extremely popular YouTuber with over four and a half million subscribers. Again, it's always encouraging to see some of the largest
11:50
YouTube content creators being unashamed about their Christian faith. And I do hope that they are unashamed of the full gospel revealed in the
11:58
Bible. And that they are able to point people like Mr. Beast back to the truth of the Bible. Another friend of Mr.
12:04
Beast is Ryan Trahan. Another extremely popular YouTuber with over 11 million subscribers.
12:10
Like George and Preston, Ryan is very open about his Christian faith. Ultimately, I did land on Jesus.
12:17
And I started, you know, developing a relationship with God. I can't believe I'm saying that, bro. Because I literally would have absolutely clowned on myself.
12:24
Three years ago, whenever I started looking at who Jesus was, and like even the things he said, and like the things he taught, it realized like, wow, this is so loving.
12:31
And if I can potentially have a relationship with him, I'm just going to try. And now it is my source of joy.
12:37
Like it is my source of love. It is my source of everything. Because I have that, I can go into the world and do onto others, like what
12:44
I feel like I already have. It's real. Like I can't lie about who I am. Yeah. And like, I can't lie about where I get the source of joy and positivity.
12:50
Yeah. Because it's actually such a disservice to, you know, people that watch. At the same time, in a way that's somewhat similar to George, I think
12:58
Ryan is pretty careful to only ever say positive, encouraging things, and to never offend anyone with the offensive parts of the
13:05
Bible. I guess like my mission statement for life is to make every moment that passes through me better because it did.
13:12
That's so sick. I mean, I'm not always successful. It's so beautiful and pure. I really enjoy Ryan's wholesome and humorous content.
13:19
And I'm glad he's able to talk about his faith to so many people. At the same time, I don't really expect
13:25
Ryan to talk about repentance, salvation through faith alone in Christ alone, or any of the offensive parts of the gospel.
13:32
The reason Ryan is a Christian today is largely due to his wife, Hayley Pham, another extremely popular
13:39
YouTuber with over 2 million subscribers. Hayley is also very open about her Christian faith.
13:45
In the same vein of if you are not a believer yet, or you are a believer and you would like to explain to people why you believe, there's also
13:51
More Than a Carpenter by Josh McDowell and Sean McDowell. Both are 15 million in print. So this guy was basically a skeptic and he sought out to disprove all of these crazy
14:01
Christians who were just believing, you know, wacky crap. And then he actually found out that there was evidence that suggested that Jesus, instead of simply being a first century
14:10
Hebrew carpenter, truly was the God that he claimed to be. I do love that Hayley is willing to talk about apologetics on YouTube, and I hope both
14:18
Hayley and Ryan will express their faith and the gospel unashamedly to their enormous audience.
14:23
In contrast to these popular YouTubers who are Christian and produce wholesome content, there's another popular
14:29
YouTube channel called H3 Podcast, hosted by Ethan and Hilah Klein, with over 2 .8
14:36
million subscribers. Ethan used to be much more popular than he is now, largely because he now says things like this.
14:44
If Jesus was here on a cross, I'd swear him. No, he's not going to. It'd be funny if he got banned for that.
14:49
No, I'm not going to get told that. Insane thing. No, no shot. Give me the hammer and the spikes. I'm putting it up there.
14:55
If someone could do it, it's Ethan. He'll find a way. I'll do it again. I liked it the first time and I'll do it again,
15:01
Nick. I'm getting on a call with all my Jewish brothers and sisters. There's 30 minutes left. I really want to make
15:06
Dan proud. You know what I'm planning this Christmas? A mock execution of Jesus Christ.
15:14
Dedicated to Nick Fuentes. Ethan represents an extremely dark corner of YouTube, one that he shares with another extremely popular
15:22
YouTuber named Cenk Uygur, who owns the channel The Young Turks with over 5 million subscribers.
15:29
Cenk, like Ethan, has absolutely no problem with blaspheming the name of Jesus Christ. Santa is progressive and Jesus is too.
15:37
Actually, that's the conversation we're going to have. Of course, the term progressive implies being pro -LGBTQ and pro -abortion, which certainly does not describe
15:46
Jesus. A far less controversial popular YouTuber is Mark Rober, with over 23 million subscribers.
15:54
Mark is very quiet about what he believes, although some have said that Mark is a Mormon. The strongest argument for this is that Mark appeared in a video with Studio C, which was a channel created by Mormons.
16:05
Similar to some of the other popular YouTube creators we've talked about so far, Mark creates uncontroversial, wholesome entertainment that I and millions around the world enjoy.
16:16
Let's end our survey of popular YouTubers with two more popular YouTubers who are very explicit about their
16:23
Christian faith. First, Jay Stew, two extremely popular YouTubers with over 7 million subscribers.
16:30
I was encouraged to watch these two guys talk about their faith in a video titled, Pray for Las Vegas. I think it's important to know that we need to put our hope in Jesus.
16:39
I had a verse I want to share with you guys just real quick. This is Jesus speaking to the people.
16:45
I, and this is John 8, verse 12. I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won't have to walk in darkness because you will have the light that leads to life.
16:54
And I think that verse really stands out to me because it says you won't have to walk in darkness. I feel like so many of us and so many people in the world are walking in darkness because you don't have this, even know about God, having a relationship with God.
17:08
Because for me, it's so much more than just me going to heaven. It's about having this intimate relationship with God who can help us walk out of the darkness and walk through the darkness through hard times like this.
17:20
I'm very encouraged that these popular YouTubers are willing to tell the many people who follow their channel that they need to put their hope in Jesus.
17:30
Second, Dude Perfect is by far one of the most popular YouTube channels with over 58 million subscribers.
17:37
And not only do these guys produce content that is wholesome and entertaining, they are extremely explicit about their
17:44
Christian faith. Here's a video of Tyler Toney directly sharing the gospel with Dude Perfect's many, many fans.
17:52
We believe what the Bible says in Romans that if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead that you'll be saved.
17:58
And we also believe that it's by grace that you've been saved through faith and it's not by works and that you can't earn your way into heaven.
18:04
There's nothing that you can do. You can't be good enough. You can't be a good enough person. In fact, it says that we're all sinners. And that's a decision that the five of us have made.
18:12
And I can promise you it's the best decision that we ever made in our life. And if you guys could leave here with anything tonight, it wouldn't be that you go stop by the merch booth or that you go watch all the
18:20
Dude Perfect videos when you get home tonight. But it would be that you leave here knowing that you're loved by the creator of the universe and he wants to have a personal relationship with you.
18:28
So, thank you guys for being here tonight. Tyler unashamedly tells the crowd, we are all sinners, that nobody can earn their way into heaven and that everyone needs to put their faith in Jesus Christ.
18:41
It should be obvious that YouTube is filled with all kinds of content. I'm definitely grateful that some of the largest creators on YouTube are unashamed to talk about their
18:51
Christian faith with the world and who create wholesome content that anyone can enjoy.
18:57
At the same time, generally speaking, we aren't going to be hearing extremely popular
19:03
YouTubers explain the full true gospel of sin and salvation to their audiences largely because the full true gospel is offensive to the world and would alienate a large percentage of their audience.
19:16
So while I appreciate the existence of popular YouTubers who call themselves Christians, these popular
19:22
YouTubers are not at all a replacement for sitting under solid Bible teachers who proclaim the word of God boldly, unashamedly and without any compromise because this is the kind of truth people need to hear more than anything else in the world.
19:39
And yet, ironically, in the day and age in which we live, where we have the lofty titles and where we have the respect, where we're not being beaten and chased out of town, ironically, in that environment, it is us who are ashamed of the gospel.
19:56
We're the ones when we're given an opportunity to be on television, don't want to sound backwards, so we sugarcoat.
20:02
We're the ones when we're given an opportunity for a position of prominence in our community, but we decide to sort of back off of the offensive things so that we can be accepted and promoted.
20:14
We're the ones who do that. We're the ones who've come to believe that there are things that are more significant than the work that we do in preaching and proclaiming the gospel.
20:24
We're the ones who've come to believe that there are things in the culture that are beyond what we can address because the gospel's just not enough.
20:33
He said to me, does it bother you that you offend people? I said, no, I offend people on purpose.
20:40
I don't want to personally offend them by a lack of love or care or kindness or compassion, but I'm sorry, this word from God is offensive.
20:52
Worship me correctly or die. Thank you so much for watching into the end. If you'd like this video, hitting the subscribe button helps this channel reach more people with the truth.
