- Live from the historic parsonage of the 19th century gospel minister, George Norcross, in downtown
- 00:10
- Carlisle, Pennsylvania, it's Iron Sharpens Iron. This is a radio platform in which pastors,
- 00:23
- Christian scholars, and theologians address the burning issues facing the church and the world today.
- 00:31
- Proverbs chapter 27 verse 17 tells us iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.
- 00:38
- Matthew Henry said that in this passage, we are cautioned to take heed with whom we converse and directed to have in view in conversation, to make one another wiser and better.
- 00:50
- It is our hope that this goal will be accomplished over the next two hours, and we hope to hear from you, the listener, with your own questions, and now here's your host,
- 01:00
- Chris Arnzen. Good afternoon,
- 01:10
- Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, Lake City, Florida, and the rest of humanity living on the planet
- 01:16
- Earth. We're listening via live streaming at ironsharpensironradio .com. This is Chris Arnzen, your host of Iron Sharpens Iron Radio, wishing you all a happy Monday on the 17th day of May 2021, and I'm really excited about heading down to Texas, actually for the first time in my life,
- 01:37
- I've been on layover at the airport in Texas, but I've never spent a day or more in Texas, and I'm looking forward to my first trip to Denton, Texas, specifically this
- 01:52
- June for the Wokeness and the Gospel Conference. I will be manning an exhibitor's booth there,
- 01:58
- God willing, and in order to promote this very vital conference, we have been interviewing a number of the speakers who are going to be featured at this conference, and we have one of them today on the program for the very first time,
- 02:15
- Tommy Nelson, and Tommy is an author of a number of books and resources, including
- 02:22
- The Story of God, A Life Well Lived, The Book of Romance, and Walking on Water.
- 02:29
- He's a national conference speaker and senior pastor of Denton Bible Church of Denton, Texas.
- 02:35
- Today we are going to be specifically addressing the theme, The Disunity of Wokeness versus the
- 02:41
- Uniting Power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It's my honor and privilege to welcome you for the very first time ever to On Interpreter's Line Radio, Pastor Tommy Nelson.
- 02:50
- Well, thank you, Chris. You know, one of my heroes when I was a boy was Jim Thorpe. I read his biography 12 times about his growing up at the college in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, so this is a special treat for me to address the airwaves of Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
- 03:09
- Amen. Amen, and somebody in this town has got to erect a monument to Jim Thorpe because there is no, that I'm aware of, if it exists somewhere,
- 03:20
- I have not yet seen it, I've been living here since 2014. He was voted the greatest athlete of the first half of the 20th century was
- 03:28
- Jim Thorpe. Yes, and has anybody officially restored, obviously post -mortem, restored his medals?
- 03:35
- I am told that they have to his daughter in Oklahoma. Oh, great, praise
- 03:40
- God for that. Quite a hero indeed, and I am surprised that there isn't more of a known presence of his having lived here and so forth.
- 03:52
- But tell us more, before we go into our very important topic, tell us more about Denton Bible Church of Denton, Texas.
- 04:02
- Denton Bible Church was the church nobody wanted. I played quarterback at North Texas State University, and my junior year,
- 04:19
- I was converted a navigator, came into my room and shared with my roommate the gospel, and I listened over his shoulder, and he simply asked my roommate if he was a
- 04:29
- Christian, my roommate said yes, he said, and what is a Christian? And my roommate gave him the answer that I, as a growing up Methodist kid, just knew was the answer, he said, you, a
- 04:40
- Christian, is someone that keeps the Ten Commandments. And he could have said to him, name them, and my roommate would have been in trouble.
- 04:48
- Or if he had given him a Bible, he could have said, find them, he would have really been in trouble. But all he said to him was, you keep them, and there was silence.
- 04:56
- He said, you keep them like the Bible says, keep them. You just don't commit adultery, you don't lust, you just don't kill.
- 05:03
- But I just listened to him, and he said to my roommate, the law was not given to save us, it was given to show us we could not be saved, to point us to Christ who came and died.
- 05:16
- And when he said that, the lights came on, and I had never seen them, and shortly thereafter, I trusted
- 05:22
- Christ, I became a, in time, I went to Dallas Theological Seminary, I was a Methodist, uh, college director, and they brought in a liberal, and I could not get the guy to agree on the multiplication table as to whether it was true.
- 05:37
- And so, I ended up, uh, we, I left the church, and there was another Methodist church that had cast out their pastor for preaching the gospel instead of inviting people into the fellowship of the church.
- 05:49
- He wanted them to be saved. He also was a Dallas Seminary graduate. And so, we came together as two guys that the
- 05:56
- Methodists didn't want, and we started a church, and it was with 20 people. Now it is, uh, between 30, oh, 600, about 4 ,000, and God has greatly, greatly blessed it, and it is
- 06:07
- Denton Bible Church. So we've been going since 1977. Praise God.
- 06:12
- And what would be the theological makeup, in summary, of that church? We are, um, fundamental.
- 06:20
- We are, uh, we are Calvinistic. We are premillennial. We are pre -tribulational.
- 06:27
- I am kind of the poster boy for Dallas Theological Seminary, and so, I cut my teeth on John Wolvard, on Charles Ryrie, Howard Hendricks, S .L.
- 06:38
- Johnson, and so, that is, uh, where we are. Well, at least one of them had your
- 06:45
- Calvinistic theology, that S. Louis Johnson. Yes, he did. What a great man of God.
- 06:50
- I had the privilege of having lunch with him at a Bible conference once. Is that right? Well, I cut my teeth listening to him preach, and so, we are strongly premillennial, strongly pre -tribulational, strongly upon the depravity of man and the efficacious monergistic work of God in saving.
- 07:06
- And so, we, uh, my hero of all theologians is Cornelius Van Til, the self -evidentiality of God, self -evidentiality of the inerrancy of the
- 07:17
- Bible. And so, uh, we preach, uh, Bible expositorily.
- 07:23
- We have what's called a Bible Training Center for Pastors, that guys don't want to spend two years getting, essentially, a
- 07:28
- Dallas Seminary degree. We have a Bible Training Center for Leaders for Women, that want to do the same thing under a women's teacher.
- 07:34
- We have a Young Guns program that trains young men, and a young, we have a GAP program that trains 18 -year -olds.
- 07:40
- And so, all of our church is all focused on Bible exposition and then getting them into discipleship groups and training them to train others.
- 07:51
- Well, if anybody wants to know more about Denton Bible Church in Denton, Texas, go to DentonBible .org,
- 08:00
- D -E -N -T -O -N Bible .org, and hopefully I'll remember to repeat that at the end of the program as well.
- 08:09
- And also, we have a tradition here on Iron Sharpens Iron Radio, uh, where whenever we have a first -time guest, we have that guest give a summary of their salvation testimony, what kind of religious atmosphere, if any, they were raised in, and what kind of providential occurrences our
- 08:27
- Sovereign Lord raised up in the individual's life that drew him to himself and saved him, or her.
- 08:34
- And I would love to hear your story. Sure. I was from Waco, Texas, the home of Baylor University.
- 08:40
- My best friend was the son of the head coach of Baylor University. My other best friend was the son of the pastor of First Baptist Waco, but I did not know the gospel.
- 08:51
- I was raised Methodist with, at best, kind of a social gospel idea. And I came, my,
- 08:56
- I wanted to find life somewhere, and to me, the way that I found it was going to be the fame that came from football.
- 09:03
- And so I turned down the Cincinnati Reds and baseball, and I went and played football just because I thought women liked football better.
- 09:11
- So I came to North Texas State, and when
- 09:17
- Joe Green was up there, a familiar, I'm sure, of Pennsylvania. Oh yeah, you mean Joe Green.
- 09:23
- And so I came there in 69, and you know, Blaise Pascal said, there's a
- 09:28
- God -shaped vacuum in the heart of every man. A man tries to fill it with all that's created, but it can only be filled by the
- 09:34
- Creator, made known through his Son, Jesus Christ. So I put football in there, and then basically found out,
- 09:40
- Chris, I wasn't the moral kid that I thought I was. I got to drinking, I got to messing with marijuana, and I just found out my life just fell apart.
- 09:48
- I found out I had no foundation to my life. And I began seeking whoever
- 09:54
- God was. I knew that I needed him. And God providentially brought some things in my life.
- 10:02
- I picked up a magazine by Athletes in Action. You remember them? Oh yeah. From the first crusade. And I read a testimony of a guy named
- 10:09
- Terry Poppe, a linebacker from Stanford, taking long walks at night, asking questions, looking for God, and not knowing who he was until he finally just said,
- 10:19
- God, I have tried for 21 years. And I failed. Now you come into my life, you forgive me, and you make me who you want me to be.
- 10:26
- And I read that so many times that I sensed that somewhere in that paragraph was the gospel. But it was like it was in Swahili.
- 10:33
- I couldn't understand it. And I just kept it there until later, that navigator came into my room and shot all the foundation out from under me by saying that to go to heaven you had to be as good as God, and man couldn't do it, and Christ did.
- 10:49
- And that's why he's a savior. And I didn't trust him immediately, because I sensed that I couldn't have him in my life and me there too.
- 10:59
- Somehow I knew there had to be an either or, either him or me, and a couple of weeks later I just gave up.
- 11:04
- And I said, God, you take my life, and you take control of it, and you make me anything you want me to be.
- 11:12
- And that was 1972. And I thought I'd discovered something altogether new to Western man.
- 11:18
- I didn't know anybody knew this but me and Martin Luther and that guy that came by and shared with me. And so I just began to pick up my
- 11:25
- Bible and read, and I began to pray, and then God brought some campus crusaders into my life.
- 11:33
- In 1972, I thought I was going to be an All -American quarterback, and he moved me to safety, so I thought
- 11:38
- I was going to be an All -American safety, then I tore up my knee and ended up missing my senior year.
- 11:43
- And as a result, I had to do my student teaching. And through that, a guy asked me if I'd speak to his football team for the
- 11:51
- FCA, and then speak to the school for the FCA, and I found out, inadvertently,
- 11:57
- I'll be darned, this was my greatest joy, was sharing with young men and women about Jesus Christ. And so I never really made a plan,
- 12:05
- I would just go from one oasis to the other, and God just led me into ministry, into discipleship.
- 12:14
- And I can remember very clearly going out jogging over a bridge one day, and the occurring thought coming to me that no one had ever sat down with me and taught me.
- 12:24
- And I immediately took off to this place called Dallas Theological Seminary that was becoming well -known after X -Flow.
- 12:30
- You remember X -Flow? That I'm not familiar with. Yeah, X -Flow 72, where all the
- 12:36
- Christians came together. So I went down there, and I filled out my stuff on the curb, handed it in, and they got me into Dallas Seminary in 1973, and so I began learning.
- 12:49
- And He has just led me all the way, just putting me under great men.
- 12:56
- Well, praise God for that wonderful testimony of God's mercy and grace upon your life.
- 13:02
- And as I already announced at the very beginning of the show, you are hosting at Denton Bible Church of Denton, Texas.
- 13:12
- The Wokeness and the Gospel Conference, obviously, this is a theme that you believe has great urgency to it, since you are hosting this conference and also speaking at it as well.
- 13:26
- It is the most sinister ideology I have seen in 50 years of ministry.
- 13:31
- Wow, that's saying a lot in the 21st century. And the guy that said the same thing was a guy named
- 13:36
- John MacArthur. And I would agree with him. I have never seen... It's more sinister than the 60s, and it's more sinister than Communism, because it is so subtle.
- 13:48
- It is the most satanic of all ideologies I have ever seen. Why don't you tell us how you really think about this?
- 13:57
- Communism, you see it coming. You see Communism coming, you see Nazism coming.
- 14:02
- But Wokeness flies under the radar of what Francis Schaeffer called
- 14:08
- Semantic Mysticism. They use content words that don't carry the same content, and it is a facsimile of the
- 14:20
- Tree of Life. It is sinister. Yeah, and one of the things that makes it doubly disturbing is that men of God that are theologically on the same page as you and I are on the most important things, or at least they were for many years.
- 14:38
- In fact, I have interviewed quite a number of men on this program as little as nine years ago who would never have back then publicly uttered the grotesque heresies of the
- 14:53
- Wokeness movement who are now among the leaders of it. And I cannot figure that out as best
- 15:01
- I can. I cannot figure that out, because everybody hates racism, mostly
- 15:10
- God does, and God has given us a means to stop racism. It is called the death of Jesus Christ, the inclusion into the body of Christ, and the outgoing of the
- 15:21
- Word of God concerning the dignity of the human race in the image of God. That is the way that you solve racism, and God does not have a plan
- 15:32
- B. If you don't like salvation by faith through Christ, you don't get to offer an alternative.
- 15:38
- You go with God, and that is the way that you undo the Tower of Babel, is by Pentecost, with different languages saying the same thing of the mighty works of God, and the effusion of that Mr.
- 15:53
- Wilberforce, and to all of society where great goodness comes from, you don't bring about moral change through atheism.
- 16:03
- You can't write that down. You can't put out a fire with airplane fuel.
- 16:09
- You know what I'm saying, Chris? You can't take the fire of racism and put it out with airplane fuel by saying we're simply going to lump race, sodomy, and femininity as the oppressed, and we will all hate white heterosexual males.
- 16:29
- That will fix it. The woke ideology will do more to incite racism than anything since lynchings, and I assure you there will be blood because of the wokeness idea.
- 16:44
- It's the worst ideology that has ever been perpetrated. Yeah, the woke movement reminds me of the insanity and the hypocrisy of an occurrence that happened a number of years ago prior to the current
- 17:05
- Pope. Right now for some reason that Pope's name draws a blank in my mind other than he was
- 17:12
- Cardinal Ratzinger before he became the Pope. Benedict, Pope Benedict, he in some kind of public statement accused
- 17:25
- Islam of being guilty of violence, and how did the militant
- 17:31
- Muslims in Rome react? They murdered nuns in protest to that statement.
- 17:36
- I mean, that is what the woke movement reminds me of because they claim to be all about an opposition to racism, and yet they are vehemently racist.
- 17:53
- You just reverse it. Instead of whites being racist to blacks, we will now have blacks and women and sodomites all racist to those different.
- 18:04
- And when you say to a white heterosexual male, are you racist, once he hears the gospel, he will say, well,
- 18:11
- I wasn't, but now I'm backed into a corner. I'm about to be racist, and then you say to a young black guy, are you racist?
- 18:18
- Well, no. Well, let me tell you what's been done to you. Really? I didn't know that. Well, I hate them. Well, I hate them, and so you just turn these people against each other.
- 18:26
- Listen, if I was the devil, I would invent wokeness, and I would even call it a name after the awakenings.
- 18:34
- I would call it a name after the reformation. I would call it awakened. I would give it names like this.
- 18:41
- I would call it social justice. It's not social. It's not justice. It is a non -social injustice.
- 18:49
- It is the assigning of guilt and the authorization of hatred. It is now totalitarianly all through our culture, and it's autocratically being imposed.
- 19:00
- Mark Bailey, the former president of Dallas Seminary, said to me one time, he said, you know,
- 19:06
- I knew our country was sliding, but I didn't know that it would do it in a semester. And I knew what he meant.
- 19:12
- It's like it all fell off in COVID, George Floyd, it fell off. It's still, to me, a sociological phenomena as to how it happened.
- 19:24
- Yeah. By the way, I don't know if you were aware of this. I think we should alert the listening public who starts to explore
- 19:33
- Denton Bible Church, their website and so forth, so that they can get more information and perhaps visit your church, perhaps attend the
- 19:42
- Wokeness in the Gospel conference. I don't know if you're even aware of this, because I forgot to mention it before the show, but there are some charlatans out there that slanderously invented a
- 19:56
- Twitter account for Denton Bible Church that is obviously intended to be a white racist, white supremacist account.
- 20:06
- You're aware of that? No, no, but it doesn't, I mean, lying goes right along with Satan and his people, so that doesn't amaze me.
- 20:18
- You know, all my life I've wanted to suffer for the Gospel and suffer for my country.
- 20:24
- And this is a chance to do both. If I get a chance to stand up for the Gospel and to stand up for what
- 20:30
- America used to be, I would love to die that way. This is worth my life.
- 20:37
- Amen. And really the only thing you can do, Chris, you have to circle up your church and say, you know, we're not commanded to commandeer the world in their belief system.
- 20:46
- We're commanded to win people out of it and influence it. But it ain't going to come in here. We've got gatekeepers, and it's not coming in here.
- 20:54
- And it's not going to get to our kids. It's not going to get to our collegiates. It's not going to get to our adults. We're not going to have it in here.
- 21:01
- It might come to the brink of the Edomites, the Moabites, the Girgashites, and all of the whatever, but it's not going to get within Galilee and the
- 21:11
- Jordan and the Mediterranean. It's not coming into our place. And we're going to have a place of truth and of patriotism.
- 21:18
- And if people want to come to what used to be, then they can come here. And so that's where we're going to take our stance.
- 21:25
- And we'll do surties out into the world, and we will share the truth of the Gospel, and we'll see what happens then.
- 21:31
- Amen. Well, you wanted to, today, under the umbrella of wokeness, because there are a lot of facets to this heretical movement, you wanted to discuss specifically the disunity of wokeness versus the uniting power of the
- 21:51
- Gospel of Jesus Christ, which is the only way sinners can truly have unity amongst those on this planet that differ on comparatively minor and not even at all important reasons, like the content of melanin in your skin.
- 22:12
- But things like that do divide sinners on this planet, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the only thing that can truly bring about unity.
- 22:20
- But as far as unity, is the woke movement, as far as you are aware of it, and the social justice warrior movement and all of that stuff, the buzz phrases that come along with that, is unity even really a part of their rhetoric?
- 22:40
- No, it is not. Really, it's the alienation of the white man.
- 22:48
- It's the alienation of males. It's the alienation of heterosexuals.
- 22:54
- It lumps blackness with sodomy, and it lumps it with feminism.
- 23:02
- If I were an evangelical black man, I would be enraged at the woke movement of lumping me like that.
- 23:11
- And so, no, it does not bring unity of any sort. It doesn't even claim to.
- 23:17
- Yeah, it's a new superiority is what it brings. It's no more than cultural
- 23:24
- Marxism. Mr. Marx said that society is divided between the haves and the have -nots, the owners and the workers, and the workers oppress, and therefore we must evolve into an overthrow of them.
- 23:38
- The left -wing Marxists said, well, we don't need to evolve, we just need to workers of the world unite right now, and we'll get rid of them.
- 23:44
- And it never worked. So they reworked Marxism and said it's not economic, it's racial.
- 23:51
- It's the white guys, the male guys, the heterosexual guys, we have to get rid of them. It's not unlike the
- 23:57
- French Revolution that we've got to get rid of the priest and the wealthy guys and the royalists, get rid of them, and let the people have liberty, fraternity, and unity.
- 24:07
- And both of them ended in a bloodbath where you had to have Lenin and Napoleon step in and fascism and take over.
- 24:18
- And so this ideology has been tried and it has failed to try to bring unity, fraternity, and liberty without God.
- 24:27
- You can't do it. Once you reject God, you're out of the Garden of Eden.
- 24:33
- If you don't want God, you don't get Eden. It will be done God's way. Amen. And we have to go to our first break right now.
- 24:40
- If anybody would like to send in a question to Pastor Tommy Nelson, our email address is

- Please give us at least your first name, your city and state of residence, and your country of residence if you live outside the USA.
- 24:57
- Only remain anonymous if your question involves a personal and private matter. Let's say you are in a church that has been overtaken by the woke movement and you're not ready to identify yourself publicly as someone in opposition to that, or you're a pastor even and you're at odds with your fellow elders or your denomination over this issue.
- 25:17
- Whatever the case is that would compel you to remain anonymous, please feel free to do so.
- 25:22
- But if you are just asking a general question about wokeness and the disunity it brings and about the uniting power of the gospel of Jesus Christ, if you're just asking general questions, please give us your first name, city and state, and country of residence.
- 25:38
- We'll be right back with Pastor Tommy Nelson, right after these messages from our sponsors. So do not go away.

- Greetings in the matchless name of our Lord Jesus Christ. My name is Bhanu Gadi. I'm a pharmacist in New York, which is the epicenter of the latest crisis the world is going through.
- 32:29
- In Psalm 139, verse 14, the psalmist offers praise to the Lord like this.
- 32:34
- I praise you because I'm fearfully and wonderfully made and wondrous are your works that my soul knows very well.
- 32:41
- He saw God's goodness and mercy, kindness, and the beauty in what
- 32:46
- God has designed, and he has erupted into praise. In any crisis or problem, brothers and sisters, our only fallback position is to trust
- 32:56
- God's design. And once we do, there is nothing for us to do but to erupt in praise to him.
- 33:03
- When the whole world is searching for a solution, God, in his infinite mercy, has given us what we need to address this illness, which can be very serious.
- 33:13
- Such is the beauty of his design. Knowing that design, how can we not erupt in praise to our great
- 33:19
- God like the psalmist did? May God bless you and give all of us wisdom to see greater things in his design.
- 33:26
- Thank you. Iron Radio If you love
- 33:43
- Iron Sharpen's Iron Radio, one of the best ways you can help keep the show on the air is by supporting our advertisers.
- 33:51
- One such faithful advertiser who really believes in what Chris Arnton is doing is
- 33:57
- Daniel P. Patafuco, serious injury lawyer and Christian apologist.
- 34:03
- Dan is the president and founder of the Historical Bible Society. Their mission?
- 34:09
- To foster belief in the credibility of Scripture as the written word of God. They go to various churches, schools, and institutions to publicly display a rare collection of biblical texts along with a fascinating presentation by Mr.
- 34:24
- Patafuco demonstrating the reliability of Scripture. To advance the cause of the gospel, they created a beautiful, perfect facsimile of the genealogy of Jesus Christ from the original engravings contained in a first edition 1611
- 34:41
- King James Bible. This 17th century hand -engraved chart shows the family tree of Jesus Christ going back to Adam and Eve.
- 34:52
- This book is complete with gorgeous full -size illustrations of Noah's Ark and the
- 34:57
- Tower of Babel and an explanation of why the genealogy of Jesus is so important for his claims to the throne of the universe.
- 35:07
- Originals of this work are in museums and nobody has ever made it accessible to the public in a large book form before.

- 35:36
- This is Chris Arnzen, your host of Iron Sharpen's Iron Radio. If you just tuned us in, our guest today for the full program is
- 35:42
- Tommy Nelson, pastor of Denton Bible Church in Denton, Texas. We are discussing the disunity of wokeness versus the uniting power of the gospel of Jesus Christ and we're also promoting the
- 35:55
- Wokeness and the Gospel conference that I will be attending and where I will be manning an
- 36:01
- Iron Sharpen's Iron Radio exhibitor's booth. The conference is June 11th and 12th and for more details go to Wokenessandgospel .org
- 36:12
- Wokenessandgospel .org We hope to see you there at the Wokeness and the Gospel conference.
- 36:18
- Before the break we were talking about how wokeness brings disunity rather than unity.
- 36:25
- It seems to me that many of the spokespersons for this movement who happen to be white, they seem to be in their rhetoric under the impression that this is somehow bringing them greater unity with the black community and with others that this movement claims to represent.
- 36:46
- I mean even when you look and listen to the rhetoric of President Joe Biden, not only when he was running for president but even after he was elected, he was stressing how he had as his intention the bringing about of unity in this country between people who disagree and he also at the same time appears to be right on board the
- 37:13
- Wokeness train promoting and celebrating this nonsense, this heresy.
- 37:21
- But these people are really either very stupid and not listening to the rhetoric itself or they are just going along with the program because they think it either somehow builds up their credibility in the minds of the audience they want to impress or perhaps will help secure them financially in whatever career they are in.
- 37:45
- Am I making sense here? Yes, it's good for business to be woke. When Koch gets behind it and Delta gets behind it and all these businesses get behind it, it gives the illusion that you are against racism and you are very progressive in your longings for the unity of man.
- 38:04
- So it looks very good until you start looking at the way it comes about is that we are going to condemn people just for who they are.
- 38:14
- I will condemn a white man. I will condemn a male white man. I will condemn a heterosexual male white man.
- 38:24
- And I will start teaching in these schools to the youngest out there that they are wrong to be white.
- 38:31
- It is evil to be white, as one woman said on the Wokeness side. It is demonic to be white.
- 38:37
- And so once you get into it, it creates the greatest amount of strife and hatred and ignorance.
- 38:44
- And then you have to autocratically have government that starts making decisions, not of equality, but of equity.
- 38:51
- You will have X amount of this and X amount of this, and we are going to have equity whether you like it or not.
- 38:58
- We are going to force this down on you. And so it is extremely divisive.
- 39:04
- It is hate -filled, and it will bring nothing but strife. It seems that those in the
- 39:11
- Wokeness movement have taken their cue not from Dr.
- 39:17
- Martin Luther King, Jr. They have taken it from the Nation of Islam, it seems.
- 39:23
- Yes, Martin Luther King's idea was let justice flow down like waters and righteousness like a never -flowing stream.
- 39:30
- We are cashing our check on the Constitution. We will not do this violently. We will appeal to conscience that this is right.
- 39:37
- And he ran into it with Stokely Carmichael and all the rest.
- 39:42
- They wanted it by any means necessary, and some of them just wanted to leave and go off and start their own black nation.
- 39:48
- And so he had that conflict with those people. And a lot of this, I think, Chris, is a lot of the 60s ideology didn't work.
- 39:57
- It ended in catastrophe. And because in the 60s you had the greatest generation riding herd on it, and the
- 40:06
- Reagans in the top, guys stopping in and saying, no, no, this is not going to work, this is communism.
- 40:14
- And what has happened now after it's kind of petered out, all the old guys have died.
- 40:20
- If you're a 17 -year -old in World War II, you're now 95. And so they're all dying off.
- 40:25
- And now the guys that are at the top rise up before the gray head. All the gray heads are now guys that inhaled.
- 40:32
- You know what I'm saying? They're all the guys that inhaled in the 60s.
- 40:39
- They're on top, and now basically there is no cap, there is no lid, there is no harness, there is no leash, and there is no restriction.
- 40:47
- All the guys that inhaled now are there in the top, and they're fostering this.
- 40:54
- And it's very attractive, just like the 60s were attractive to the young. This stuff is attractive to the young because it's redemption without Jesus.
- 41:02
- It's life without Jesus. It's unity without Jesus. Just like the French Revolution, Russian Revolution, we're going to have peace and hope and happiness and harmony without Jesus.
- 41:13
- And it's never going to work. Yeah, it's interesting that during the 60s, when the nation of Islam was rising to prominence, taking as their battle cry that they are going to achieve their intended goals by any means necessary, and they were opposed to Martin Luther King's view of man being judged by the content of his character, not by the color of his skin.
- 41:49
- And that seems to be viewed as racist today by the woke movement. But it's interesting, and this may be news to some of our listeners.
- 41:59
- And of course, some may be already aware of this. But the nation of Islam, even though it was and is a black supremacist group, and a group really founded on hatred and bigotry, ironically, they had allies with the
- 42:18
- American Nazi Party. And the Elijah Muhammad, when he had at least two,
- 42:25
- I believe, of his rallies in Madison Square Garden, they invited none other than George Lincoln Rockwell to be one of their keynote speakers.
- 42:34
- This man who hated black people, George Lincoln Rockwell, the founder of the
- 42:39
- American Nazi Party. But they saw in him an ally that even though he was on the opposite end of the hatred ladder, he hated blacks, and the blacks in this group hated whites, they still viewed him as a powerful ally because he was a segregationist.
- 42:59
- And so are they. And it seems that this insanity of thinking that this is somehow an improvement to the love promoted in the scriptures, where we love people regardless of what color skin they are, and what financial status they are in, and what position of leadership or servitude they are in, there seems to be a strong push towards segregation, where even in some professedly
- 43:31
- Calvinistic churches that were previously conservative, and still may be on certain issues, they are calling for blacks having their own
- 43:40
- Lord's Supper celebrations, and times for blacks to get together to do their black thing without the problem of having whitey in the midst of them.
- 43:50
- Isn't this just sheer insanity? Yes, it is. I tell people if you want unity, that is the great undercurrent of the
- 44:02
- Bible, is Christ, his salvation, and then what it brings about that is called the word of reconciliation.
- 44:09
- That in the Bible you have Adam, who is one man from whence all men. You have the fall of man that affected all men.
- 44:19
- Then you have the promise of the Savior, the seed of woman will crush the serpent's head. That is one hope.
- 44:25
- Then you have the flood that took out all men, and then you have another one man, Noah and his sons, from whence came all of the earth.
- 44:33
- The Bible doesn't recognize races. We all come from one place. And then you have the
- 44:39
- Tower of Babel of man wanting to vaunt himself over God, and God strikes them with disunity to slow down the rebellion against God.
- 44:49
- And so all of the earth becomes dispersed now. Then you have Abraham, and you all the nations shall be blessed, that God is going to someday reconcile all the nations to himself.
- 45:01
- And here comes the Jewish nation, a nation of the law of God that is said to love your neighbor and thus fulfill the law.
- 45:09
- You have now from the Jews, here comes Jesus, the one man.
- 45:15
- God so loved the world. You have the unifying last Adam. And then you have from him comes the body of Christ, where all parts are important, united underneath Christ, neither
- 45:27
- Jew nor Greek, slave nor freeman, male nor female. They are reconciled to God.
- 45:33
- And then you have this miracle of love, by this shall all men know that you are my disciples. If you have love, when you look at Acts 13, those that are praying with Paul are
- 45:44
- Simon the Black. There is Lucius of Cyrene, a Hellenistic Jew.
- 45:51
- You have Herod who grew up with Herod as a foster brother.
- 46:00
- You have Barnabas, a Christian Paul that was a Pharisee that opposed him.
- 46:05
- And he is a Christian. You see all these alien guys that are praying together. And then you see this gospel going out to Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, the outermost parts of the earth, to all the world.
- 46:17
- You see the world rejected, and the judgment of the tribulation comes on all the world. Then you see the second coming where all the world bows beneath Christ.
- 46:26
- And then you see the new heavens and the new earth where God is all in all. And so that's just a walk through the entire
- 46:33
- Bible, but the entire undercurrent of the Bible is bringing man into a loving unity under God.
- 46:40
- And you can't beat that. You can't go beyond the one true God making himself a man, dying for what man did, and reconciling all men unto himself, and then sending out a message of love that would go out through abolition, through slavery reform, through penal reform, through the
- 47:00
- Red Cross, through medicine, through you name it, of these Christians being a blessing to all of mankind.
- 47:09
- And so if there is any one message that is tangent to the gospel, it is the love of God and the unity that is promised through the gospel of Jesus Christ.
- 47:19
- Amen. We have a listener who happens to be a dear friend of mine, and I'm sure must be at the very least an acquaintance of yours since he lives in Tenton, Texas.
- 47:29
- My dear friend, Pastor Mack Tomlinson of Providence Chapel in Denton, Texas, who's been a guest on this program many times.
- 47:38
- Pastor Mack says, As a pastor, what is the single most important thing to say to any of our flock regarding the fallacy of the woke movement, and what is most important for them to know where they will not be deceived by this false movement?
- 47:55
- The biggest thing you can do for somebody in the woke movement is to teach them vocabulary.
- 48:02
- When we get together at the Woke Conference, the first messages are going to be vocabulary.
- 48:09
- This is what is meant by the critical race theory. This is what is meant by wokeness. It's not being awakened to the evils of racism.
- 48:17
- It's being awakened to cultural Marxism about oppressors and the oppressed.
- 48:23
- This is what intersectionality is. This is why we lump race with sodomy, because it's all oppressors and oppressed, that it is morally vacuous.
- 48:37
- This is, wokeness is that it turns blacks against whites, and then reciprocally will turn whites against blacks.
- 48:46
- It will turn women against men, heteros against homos. It brings all these things.
- 48:54
- So the first thing you can do is to teach vocabulary. That's why the guy that I heard that helped me the most when all of this started,
- 49:02
- Chris, you hear terms that you're not sure what they mean. I got a tape by Vodibacca, and he walked through and said, this is what it is.
- 49:12
- He took an hour merely explaining a glossary. This is what it means.
- 49:17
- The longer he talked, the more you thought, that is the most absurd thing I have ever heard. He got to the end and said, basically, you don't get to do a substitute for Jesus Christ.
- 49:32
- If you don't like salvation by faith through his blood, you don't get to come up with the social gospel.
- 49:38
- If you don't like the Bible, you don't get to come up with liberalism. If you don't like creation, you don't get to come up with evolution. God will not allow another way into the temple.
- 49:46
- There is one way, and this is how he brings unity among men. Any other way is a lie.
- 49:54
- That's what I do, Chris, is I just stop people and say, do you even know what you're talking about?
- 50:00
- You think you're standing against racism. You're not. You're fostering racism.
- 50:07
- I just explain it to them. Yeah, this movement, you wonder how long it could possibly survive because it is by nature cannibalistic.
- 50:19
- Yes. People can never keep up with the ever -changing rules. And, of course,
- 50:27
- I think it was Votie Baucom who said, he who controls the dictionary wins the war.
- 50:33
- And they're constantly rewriting their own dictionary, even. Not only the real dictionary, they're rewriting their own dictionary.
- 50:41
- It seems that you can never catch up with what they are demanding of you as far as not only how you think and behave, but also how you define things and refer to things in either official public statements or casual conversations.
- 50:59
- I've never understood how it got into the power structure. That's what amazes me. How colleges picked it up.
- 51:06
- Businesses picked it up. And the idea of standing against your whiteness and the things how
- 51:13
- Hollywood picked it up, how Wall Street picked it up, how it became like a red dye that went through culture.
- 51:21
- I've never seen anything go through a culture like the wokeness idea.
- 51:28
- Never in my life. Not communism, not 60s immorality, not anything have
- 51:34
- I seen its evasive, pervasive idea like this.
- 51:41
- To where it got in the halls of the Capitol. Instantly.
- 51:47
- By the way, thank you so much, Pastor Mac Tomlinson. I hope to get to see you at some point.
- 51:53
- I know you're going to be away, unfortunately, when I'm in Denton, Texas at the conference. But I hope that I see you soon.
- 52:00
- It's always a joy to share fellowship with you and send my regards to your lovely wife. We have to go to our midway break right now.
- 52:07
- Please be patient with us, because it's a longer break than the other breaks in the show, as always, because Grace Life Radio, 90 .1
- 52:15
- FM in Lake City, Florida, requires of us a longer break, because the FCC requires of them to localize
- 52:22
- Ion Sharpens Ion Radio and all of their programming geographically to Lake City, Florida, with their own public service announcements and other things that they air in the middle of the show, while we simultaneously air our globally heard commercials.
- 52:37
- Please use this time wisely. Write down as much of the information as possible from our advertisers, so that you can more frequently and successfully patronize them, or at the very least respond to them by thanking them for sponsoring
- 52:50
- Ion Sharpens Ion Radio. That will go a long way, even if you cannot purchase their products, use their services, visit their churches, or support their parachurch organizations.
- 53:00
- Thanking them for sponsoring this show should do a lot to keep them happy, so that they will keep renewing their advertising contracts, which is necessary for this show to exist.
- 53:10
- So please respond to our advertisers, and make sure you will do so by writing down their information, and also write down questions for Pastor Tommy Nelson, and send them to ChrisArnson at gmail .com.
- 53:21
- ChrisArnson at gmail .com. Don't go away. We'll be right back after these messages from our sponsors.
- 53:27
- Back together again, yeah. Back together again, yeah.
- 53:37
- Hi, I'm Phil Johnson, host and executive director of Grace to You, the media ministry of John MacArthur.

- I hope you plan to join me and Chris Arnson, host of Ion Sharpens Ion Radio, for the
- 53:50
- G3 Conference in Atlanta, Georgia, Thursday, September 30th, through Saturday, October 2nd.
- 53:56
- The theme this year is Christ is supreme over all. My friend Chris Arnson and I will be joined by several of our other friends, including
- 54:04
- Vody Baucom, Justin Peters, Daryl Bernard Harrison, Virgil Walker, and James White.
- 54:11
- More than 20 other speakers will be joining us, and the lineup this year includes my pastor, John MacArthur.

- 54:23
- Chris Arnson and I hope to see you September 30th through October 2nd at G3 2021.
- 54:31
- This is Phil Johnson reminding you that Christ is supreme over all. When Ion Sharpens Ion Radio first launched in 2005, the publishers of the
- 54:51
- New American Standard Bible were among my very first sponsors. It gives me joy knowing that many scholars and pastors in the
- 54:59
- Ion Sharpens Ion Radio audience have been sticking with or switching to the

- Only Jesus Christ makes the world right. Daryl Harrison of the Just Thinking Podcast. Sinners, like you and me, can be reconciled first and foremost to God, and consequently to one another.
- 57:02
- Pastor Tom Buck of First Baptist Church in Lindale, Texas. Like Satan in the Garden, rote hermeneutics undermines the very authority of the

- Word of God. I don't say that lightly. Also hear from Tommy Nelson, Charles Stolfus, and Rodney Brown.
- 57:15
- Confronting the lies being impressed upon the culture today, threatening even to divide the Church, and answering with the

- Register online at wokenessandgospel .org. As host of Iron Sharpens Iron Radio, I frequently get requests from listeners for church recommendations.
- 57:51
- A church I've been strongly recommending as far back as the 1980s is Grace Covenant Baptist Church in Flemington, New Jersey, pastored by Alan Dunn.
- 58:01
- Grace Covenant Baptist Church believes it's God's prerogative to determine how he shall be worshipped, and how he shall be represented in the world.
- 58:09
- They believe churches need to turn to the Bible to discover what to include in worship, and how to worship
- 58:15
- God in spirit and truth. Grace Covenant Baptist Church endeavors to maintain a
- 58:20
- God -centered focus. Reading, preaching, and hearing the Word of God, singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, baptism, and communion are the scriptural elements of their corporate worship, performed with faith, joy, and sobriety.

- Chris a true friend and a man of high integrity. He's a skilled interviewer who's not afraid to ask the big penetrating questions while always defending the key doctrines of the
- 59:34
- Christian faith. I've always been happy to point people to this podcast knowing it's one of the very few safe places on the internet where folk won't be led astray.
- 59:43
- I believe this podcast needs to be heard far and wide. This is a day of great spiritual compromise and yet God has raised
- 59:50
- Chris up for just such a time. And knowing this, it's up to us as members of the body of Christ to stand with such a ministry in prayer and in finances.
- 01:00:00
- I'm pleased to do so and would like to ask you to prayerfully consider joining me in supporting

- I've been a biblical family counselor since the early 2000s, and what I've discovered is that the majority of Christian parents have never been biblically equipped to do the work of the ministry in their homes.
- 01:05:40
- That's why Truth, Love, Parent exists. We serve God by equipping dads and moms to be the ambassador parents
- 01:05:46
- God called and created them to be. We produce free parenting resources, train church leaders, and offer biblical counseling so that the next generation of dads and moms can use the scriptures to parent their children for life and godliness.

- click support then click click to donate now and if you have a question for Pastor Tommy Nelson our email address is chrisarnson at gmail .com
- 01:16:43
- chrisarnson at gmail .com we have an anonymous listener who says
- 01:16:54
- I am very troubled by the silence that my church is guilty of over this horrible heresy plaguing the world and the church specifically they say when
- 01:17:07
- I have had private discussions with the leaders that they are just as opposed to the woke movement as I am but they don't think it is their duty to publicly be outspoken against it what is your opinion on this?
- 01:17:21
- do Christians have the freedom to simply ignore this issue and wait for it to blow over?
- 01:17:29
- you know the book of Ezekiel speaks of leaders that have become like foxes among ruins they hide leaders that it says have become like dogs that have forgotten how to bark
- 01:17:46
- Ezekiel was told if a watchman sees it coming and knows it is coming and doesn't say anything
- 01:17:52
- I am going to hold him accountable Paul said I am free from the blood of all men that I have not withheld anything of the gospel of the grace of God like a poison spring or a poisoned well is the righteous who gives way to the wicked now you have got to speak matter of fact
- 01:18:17
- Chris in the pastoral epistle of 1st Timothy the largest chapter on a pastor is chapter 4 the largest chapter of a pastor in the entire bible is 1st
- 01:18:27
- Timothy 4 and the first thing he talks about is how in the later days that men will fall away from the faith paying attention to the doctrines of demons and then going on into the asceticism they will get into men who forbid marriage and advocate abstaining from foods which
- 01:18:43
- God has created to be gratefully shared in by those who believe and know the truth and then Paul says everything created by God is good nothing is to be rejected if it is received with gratitude sanctified by the word of God and prayer and then he says in pointing these things out to the brethren you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus if I remember correctly
- 01:19:03
- Chris the word pointing is the word index you stick your finger out and you point it and you say no no that is
- 01:19:15
- Gnosticism that is not Christianity no that is the
- 01:19:21
- Grotean view of the atonement that is not the propitiatory view of the atonement no that is not the gospel that is the social gospel
- 01:19:30
- I figured out Chris one time since I've been at our church in 1977 there have been 14 times
- 01:19:37
- I've had to stand up and point and say that is not biblical and so that's if a pastor can't do that he has no rod and no staff he's really not a pastor he's got to speak and so is this brother irritated?
- 01:19:55
- he ought to be irritated yeah in fact
- 01:20:00
- I know a pastor he was speaking at a conference and he was so discouraged and dismayed when he was speaking at a different conference in Canada and he asked the pastors that were there
- 01:20:20
- I believe it might have even been a pastors conference he asked the pastors there what do you do about the issue of preaching against homosexuality when so many of the local governments in Canada seem to be really repressive and restrictive about publicly speaking out against that sin and he was shocked because these men were theologically for the most part on the same page with him they said oh we don't say anything about that issue and he gave them a rebuke that you cannot remain silent about that deliver those being led away to death oh turn them back if you say we did not see this does not he know who weighs the heart and shall he not render reconvince no
- 01:21:14
- Solomon said you cannot be apathetic about evil you've got to stand as a matter of fact in our day the old adage he that is not with me is against me is becoming more clear right now if you are not against this then you are seen as with it and if you are with wokeness then you are against the gospel and so more than ever pastors are going to have to say there is a quiet place of refuge away from this and it is in the gospel you come here and we will give you unity right here
- 01:21:56
- Amen we have another anonymous listener who says
- 01:22:02
- I have heard you say during this interview that this wokeness movement endangers the gospel but I'm just curious if one believes in the virgin birth of Christ that he is a member of the triune godhead and has always existed from eternity past through all eternity future that he was incarnate in the womb of Mary by the
- 01:22:29
- Holy Spirit and he lived a sinless life and a life of perfect obedience died on Calvary rose again ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the
- 01:22:41
- Father but still perpetuates some if not all of the woke movements rhetoric how is that a danger to the gospel itself?
- 01:22:50
- because the woke gospel says there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus except for white heterosexual males if you are white and heterosexual your salvation is not complete you need to be penitent and you need to be apologetic for being white otherwise you are not approved by God in fact that doesn't even really change anything but perhaps makes you a little more tolerable because isn't this a condition being white that obviously you cannot change a leopard can't change its spots you cannot change being white so aren't you really doomed to a perpetual life of being out of step?
- 01:23:41
- that's why brother, whenever John MacArthur preached his message against wokeness he turned to Ezekiel 18 on how what a man's past was and what a man's father did is nothing if he starts a new family tree wokeness says that's false if you are white you are guilty there was a guy in the area of Atlanta that church built him a church and got him on the way to ministry and he now will not repay that loan because the
- 01:24:18
- Baptists in their days gone past supported slavery so he is reneged upon his payback because the people that helped him were white
- 01:24:29
- Baptists that is the most unmanly godless thing
- 01:24:34
- I've ever heard of and that is Owen Strahan in his book he talks about that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ unless you are white matter of fact there was a church that a lot of our kids would go out and go to in another state out east of here and they were all coming back laden down with guilt because they were white not because they were racist but because they were born white and I shut that movement down I said you will go there no more because that is not the gospel and so we're not going there anymore and so I'm not going to have kids feeling guilty because they are white in the same way as I would not be saying to kids that you are guilty because you're a son of Ham and obviously his sin is visited upon you that was taught in the 1800s and that had to be renounced and so now the wokeness gospel is not faith alone it is faith plus purgatory the sorrow over being white and male and we can't have that that is called systemic racism and nothing could be farther from the gospel and for the image of God in man you know you just said something that I'm so glad you used the phrase systemic racism because I think that most of the conservative talking heads in the media are actually wrong when they are saying systemic racism doesn't exist they are obviously speaking about white supremacist systemic racism but systemic racism certainly exists when you see white people and Asians being discriminated against because of the color of their skins in all realms of society the wokeness idea puts in gear systemic racism y 'all are white you are male you are heterosexual you are guilty that is systemic racism racism is always a sin it is always to be opposed systemic racism means you're guilty just because of who you are no you got to speak out against racism and if you're going to read your bible to any degree if you're going to get into Galatians 3 if you're going to get into Philemon you're going to have to speak out against the condemnation upon a man in the same way you don't put a stumbling block before the blind you don't put a stumbling block before the deaf you don't treat an alien in a wrong way that comes into your country the daughters of Zalapahed said just because we have no brother we shouldn't lose our possession
- 01:27:27
- God said the daughters of Zalapahed are right they shouldn't and so there is equality of opportunity and equality of elevation and it should be spoken to and so it's interesting that wokeness runs right in there with the gay movement and it runs right in there with egalitarianism of their egalitarianism of seeing no difference between male and female and feeling that females are degraded in the church it's just funny how all of that runs together
- 01:28:04
- I have never met a black guy that really believes that he is to be lumped with sodomy, lesbianism and transvestites because he is black that they are all under the same ilk of oppressed
- 01:28:19
- I've never met one that is content with that idea yeah, that's more proof that this is really being driven by white leftists
- 01:28:29
- I have been told I may be wrong that there was an interview with Morgan Freeman that they said are you dealing with systemic racism he said no and the guy said really he said well look at me he said
- 01:28:41
- I'm from Mississippi and I do this I've done this I've done this and I haven't had anybody give me a hand out I've worked and he looked at the guy doing the interview
- 01:28:48
- I think it was a black guy from Columbia he said look at you you're doing real well nobody is holding you back if you do anything they've got affirmative action to give you a hand up he said no the most unreliable thing in the world is systemic racism so I don't buy it
- 01:29:03
- I think it's an illusion yeah and as I've said in this program before discussing this issue it is interesting
- 01:29:12
- I'm from New York originally and when the when the government unfortunately tragically caved in to same sex marriage we know that that we know that that does not exist they can call it that but the thing that was very interesting living in New York how many in the black community even though they were very public in their supporting liberal candidates and being members of the
- 01:29:45
- Democrat party and even some of these people were political figures themselves who were black and Democrat in spite of all their liberal ideology otherwise they were vehemently opposed to same sex marriage and the legalizing of it and I think what you're saying is absolutely true that culturally now obviously people are individuals but it seems that the predominant makeup culturally of those from the black community are opposed to homosexuality especially having elevated to the point where it is a just a mirror of somebody's skin color yeah you know the proverb says long ago where there is no vision meaning prophetic revelation the people are unrestrained that where you don't have a word from God man runs amuck if man was merely an animal he would be hardwired you can't write a history of the cheetahs or of the lions and tigers because they're hardwired they always act a certain way man is either cherubic or he is demonic he can go one way or the other so you can write histories and reformations and renaissances and middle ages and dark ages about men but wherever you see a lack of the clarity of the gospel man will run amuck wherever you don't have a clarity between the tree of life and the tree of death that man will run amuck and end up out of the garden among the thorns and the thistles and so I really don't think
- 01:31:24
- Chris that you can have I don't think you could have wokeness ideas and homosexual ideas and egalitarian ideas
- 01:31:33
- I don't think you could have had them other than this time in history and it's because our country is so unbelievably illiterate and stupid of a rationale of bible and of history only this day could have done that we have
- 01:31:52
- Bobby in Hartsdale, New York who asks is there any connection between the woke movement and the coronavirus hysteria mask mandates vaccine mandates etc.
- 01:32:09
- even though there doesn't seem to be a logical necessary connection and I have met many conservatives and Christians that are pro -mask and pro -vaccine
- 01:32:21
- I have never met a woke person that was not pro -mask and pro -vaccine you're right
- 01:32:27
- I couldn't answer that I'll leave that to you I've never even considered that that's an interesting what your observation is is mine also
- 01:32:37
- I think that wokeness can only survive by autocratic government
- 01:32:43
- I'll say that because it's not going to carry itself morally and it just so happens that vaccines and masks are compiling of autocratic government so yeah they might both blend together that's a very interesting question yeah
- 01:33:00
- I think that it's also by perpetuating the mask hysteria and the mandates and all that and also by perpetuating or actually beginning
- 01:33:12
- I should say things like vaccine passports it is a way it is a way for those in a with a leftist totalitarian mindset to make visible and obvious those that are against the status quo against the leftism of the government because if you're walking around without a mask on you are likely although that doesn't guarantee that you are a conservative but you are more more than likely to be a conservative because they seem to be the the vast majority of people who are not submitting to the mask yeah they are the people that will they are the people that will think for themselves
- 01:33:52
- Amen we have Mike from Monroe, New York I only want to say
- 01:33:58
- I praise God for our brother and I guess he's talking about you thank you for standing strong on this woke racism issue
- 01:34:06
- God bless you as you fight the good fight interesting to see no white privileged racists seem to be giving up their high profile high paying jobs in government or corporate
- 01:34:18
- America yeah in fact I wondered why didn't Joe Biden step out of the race when he was running for president why didn't he do all he could to make sure that a black transgendered individual was there was the main candidate for the
- 01:34:34
- Democratic Party I'm with you good observation thanks a lot
- 01:34:41

- Tommy Nelson on the Wokeness Movement please send it in immediately because we're rapidly running out of time chrisarnson at gmail .com
- 01:47:12
- chrisarnson at gmail .com We have Jackie in Alabama on the Mississippi State Line Jackie says
- 01:47:20
- Hi Brother Tommy I'm not a physical member of Denton Bible Church but I send my tithe to your church and stream your broadcast every
- 01:47:29
- Sunday I live in Alabama Good night I'm sorry I said good night I live in Alabama and I was a
- 01:47:39
- Southern Baptist Convention church member for 27 years but I can't support
- 01:47:47
- Resolution 9 which is CRT Doctrine that's Critical Race Theory for those of our listeners who don't know what that means
- 01:47:53
- CRT Doctrine disguised as a helpful behavioral tool
- 01:47:58
- I am on the same page as you are as far as what you believe and teach but I can't find a church in Alabama or nearby
- 01:48:06
- Mississippi I live on the Alabama Mississippi State Line that isn't
- 01:48:11
- Southern Baptist Convention Personally I don't think the
- 01:48:17
- Southern Baptist Convention will rescind this terrible Critical Race Theory Doctrine and there will be a split eventually but most people sitting in the
- 01:48:27
- Southern Baptist Convention pews are in the dark as far as what Resolution 9 teaches in the meantime could you send some church planters missionaries to my area we desperately need pastors trained by people like you much love to you and your church
- 01:48:45
- Jackie Wow Jesus said
- 01:48:51
- I did not come to bring peace upon the earth not this time I came to bring a sword when you gotta stand in this age between the cross and the crown you've gotta stand and that's our job that's what
- 01:49:05
- Simeon said about him when he was born this child is born for the rise and the fall of many and a sign to be opposed he's gonna be a semion he's gonna be
- 01:49:14
- God made visible and you're gonna have to make a stance over this boy and so I don't know about you
- 01:49:20
- Chris but uh... I'm not afraid of those who can kill the body I'm afraid of him who can cast body and soul into hell and I wanna stand with him
- 01:49:32
- Amen Amen uh... by the way Jackie I will uh... try to get back to you with some church recommendations and if you could give me the exact city where you live that would be helpful in fact uh...
- 01:49:45
- since you are a first time questioner you have won a free New American Standard Bible compliments of the publishers of the

- Bible out to you so give us your full mailing address via email as soon as possible so we can get that Bible shipped out to you and actually that goes for any of my anonymous listeners who were first time questioners if you indeed were a first time questioner you've also won a free
- 01:50:22
- New American Standard Bible that's been my Bible since day one the NAS oh wow praise
- 01:50:29
- God for that yeah since day one well the sponsors will be very happy to hear you say that yes now she
- 01:50:39
- Jackie in her in her email says that most people that she's aware of anyway in the
- 01:50:47
- Southern Baptist Convention are in the dark about Resolution 9 so you think that's true? that's why we're having this conference the conference we're having is not against it's not against racism it's not really about racism it's about what wokeness is as a solution to racism wokeness is not the solution to this problem of sin and it's basically just trying to educate people this is what it is this is what it means and it's really
- 01:51:24
- Chris self explanatory when you hear it you back up with revulsion and you say no and you say yes that's what it is and that's what we're gonna try to do and to show that there is a solution to racism and it is called the one man
- 01:51:43
- Jesus Christ his conversion and the unification of man in Christ and then the conversion that goes out across the
- 01:51:53
- Jordan that you selling all that they possess so that nobody would be in need they think that that is
- 01:53:01
- Marxism it's not because this was these were acts of voluntary benevolence and also isn't wouldn't you agree that this
- 01:53:11
- Marxism that the woke movement seems to be totally supporting isn't
- 01:53:16
- Marxism really built on coveting thy neighbor's goods and also also stealing if you're successful in accomplishing those political goals yes wokeism comes from 1923
- 01:53:34
- Germany from burned out Marxist and the
- 01:53:39
- Goethe school of economic sociology that reworked the failure of Marxism into what is called the critical race theory it is a failure that proceeded from a failure it is a theory it's never been tested the closest you can come are the horrors of communism it's like betting all of your money on the
- 01:54:05
- Chicago Cubs to win the series back years before they finally won the series it's a proven failure it can't do anything but fail and it's going to create an enmity a hostility and a hatred that is unsurpassed by anything we've ever done and so yeah it's the word theory
- 01:54:29
- Theo Aureo means to see God when you come up with a theory you're trying to figure out what
- 01:54:35
- God is doing and that's why the wokeism theory is a substitute deity it just won't work by the way our apologies to the 2016
- 01:54:48
- Chicago Cubs who won the world series in game seven and all those that support the
- 01:54:59
- Chicago Cubs just a moment of clarity here the Goethe school was an extension of the
- 01:55:05
- Frankfurt school that came out of Frankfurt Germany it was called the Goethe school but it all started in Frankfurt Germany that's where they invented the idea of the critical race theory it's not a biblical idea it's as far as you can get from a biblical idea yeah and Vody Balcom brought that up in a masterful lecture he gave here in Pennsylvania before he got sick and had the surgery
- 01:55:29
- I had the honor of seeing him provide lectures at a conference specifically on critical race theory and he was just mind blowing and so it was such a learning experience for him to go through all of it
- 01:55:46
- Vody never has to raise his voice he just simply says this is what it is this is what it is there it is you're kidding he made it clear that he was not even reacting to anything because he was studying this before it became popular yeah he was he was
- 01:56:06
- Vody I used to do the song of Solomon conferences and Vody was one of the guys that did song of Solomon for youth and so I knew
- 01:56:14
- Vody back when he was a young guy back in the early 2000s when we and when he would go out and lecture on love sex and marriage out to youth groups and so he and I go way back
- 01:56:25
- I was a quarterback he was a tight end he was at Rice I was at North Texas so we are fellows in the ministry
- 01:56:32
- Amen and I want you to have about two minutes of uninterrupted time right now so you can summarize what you most want etched in the hearts and minds of our listeners today what
- 01:56:45
- I would want them to say is like the Apostle Paul would say to the Colossians that in him are hidden Christ are hidden the treasures of wisdom and knowledge all vital theological moral human ideas are found in Jesus Christ who is the image of the invisible
- 01:57:08
- God who is the perfect man and in so doing reunites God with mankind and anything you want to know about where you came from who you are what sin is how it is remedied where you are going and what is your moral duty how society can be made right how your marriage can be made better how your children can be raised faithfully they are found in the
- 01:57:33
- Logos in the person of Jesus Christ who reached down from heaven and made
- 01:57:38
- God baby talk down to humans and so I would say pick up your
- 01:57:44
- Bible like the little voice said to Augustine in the garden take up and read pick up your
- 01:57:50
- Bible and read from Matthew on about the beauties of Jesus and let no one deceive you through philosophy and empty deception according to the trickery of men through deceitfulness and scheming in Christ there is
- 01:58:09
- God in bodily form look to Christ and he will give us all the answers that we need praise
- 01:58:17
- God well I want to make sure that our listeners have all the contact information they need for you and the
- 01:58:24
