Shocking! Murder Up Until Birth in the State of Utah and the LDS Church

This is an interview with Kriss Martenson from the Voice for the Voiceless group that gives a brief description of the exceptions for murder in the State of Utah and the relationship between the LDS Church and the law in place.

- I'm Chris Martinson with Voice for the Voiceless here in Utah. We're an abolition group trying to end the murder of the innocent children here that happened 10 times a day.

- The thing that people don't know here in Utah is there are exceptions of rape, incest, and the mother's life, but the

- LDS Church also will allow it right up until birth. On the books, it looks like 21 weeks.

- But if you follow the laws around, they write exceptions into those pages to refer you to somewhere else.

- For example, viability is 24 to 28 weeks, but then they go around that by saying it can be up until or after viability under certain circumstances.

- When you go to that link and that law, it takes you right back to rape, incest, and the life of the mother.

- So those exceptions are actually put in there by our lawmakers, but backed by the

- LDS Church here in Utah, which if you look into their doctrine of abortion, you'll see that those exact exceptions are in there as life of the mother, rape, and incest.

- And so how they explain that is agency. Agency is free will.

- Free will is, as they explain, is taken away from them when there's rape or incest.

- So if they have their agency taken away from them, then they can correct that by having an abortion.

- So that innocent baby is not the criminal. So the father now, the criminal, the rapist, they're the one that deserves that death penalty or justice, which is what

- God commands. So those exceptions, they try to say, well, we only encourage you to give the baby up for adoption or keep the child, but they always do bring that around.

- There is exceptions in there. We can't allow for man to decide when people live and die.
