All right, so our main text today is Genesis chapter 3 verse 15.
Genesis chapter 3 verse 15.
Let's pray Glorious God you are enthroned.
You hold all things in your hands.
You are sovereign Lord, and we come to you Asking that your hand be
upon us.
We know that you walk amongst us Lord we just pray that right now that as we sit under your
word Or that you will grow us
That you will make us who are unlearned learned.
And that you will cause us to Understand this this deep doctrine Lord that
by which we are able to read and understand your word.
Clearly.
Or please forgive me for I am inadequate to carry out this.
This.
Carry out this that you have before me.
I I told the congregation before it would be easier for me to put all the
oceans in one cup Than to correctly articulate this wonderful doctrine.
Please have mercy on me.
I Pray in Jesus name.
Amen.
All right, so this is part 15 of our
series dealing with reformed theology.
And our theme is covenant theology and this will be our last message concerning
covenant theology.
Our timeless truth is There's only been one way of salvation and I've really been trying
to push this for a while now because that's what we as Baptists believe.
We don't believe that there's any other way that that sacrifices were never a way of salvation.
That that that that the history is not breaking down into Dispensations.
Well this people had to do this while this people had to do this work and this people had to do this work.
And now in the church age, we just believe in Jesus.
No, it's always been belief in.
Jesus.
The Old Testament just referred to him in different other ways a Offspring that would
come and so we will begin to read about
this offspring in in Genesis.
Chapter 3 verse 15 is our text and I want to read our text real quick and we will go back
and look at the context.
Genesis chapter 3 verse 15.
I Will put God speaking to the serpent.
I will put enmity between you and The woman and
between your offspring and Her offspring and he shall
bruise your head and you shall bruise his heel.
In our outline We will see the promise as well as the fulfillment and I gave three
ways That we will outline the covenant of grace.
One The covenant of grace was a promise only in the Old Covenant and we took several
weeks to look at that.
Point number two the covenant of grace is Notice that is the New
Covenant and point number three The covenant of grace is the covenant of works
fulfilled.
And as we transition we will be moving to our second and third point today.
So point number two the covenant of grace is You got to stress that word right.
There is the covenant of grace is The New Covenant and what I want to
do is I want to read Genesis 3, but I want to start with chapter
2.
Verses.
15 excuse me.
15 Through 17.
So chapter 2 verses 15 through 17, this is God speaking to Adam.
The Lord God took the man and Put him in the Garden of Eden to work
it and keep it.
And the Lord God Commanded the man who is Adam saying You may surely
eat of every tree in the garden.
But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat.
For in the day that you eat Eat of it you will surely die.
So God takes man puts him into a garden and he gives him conditions
in chapter 3.
Beginning in verse 1.
Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the Lord God had made.
He said to the woman Did God actually say you shall not eat of any tree of the
garden.
And the woman said to the serpent we may eat of the
fruit of the trees in the garden.
But the what God said you shall not eat of the eat of the fruit of the tree in the midst of the
garden.
Neither shall you touch it? Lest you die.
But the serpent said to the woman you will surely not die.
For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be open and you will be like
God knowing good and.
Evil.
So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food and that it was a delight to her eyes and that The
tree was a was to be desired to make one wise she took of its fruit and ate.
And she also gave some to her husband who was with her and he ate.
Then both of their eyes were open and they knew that they were naked.
And they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loincloths.
And they heard the sound of the Lord walking in the garden in the cool of the day.
And the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees in the garden.
But the Lord God called to the man and said to him Where are you?
And he said I heard the sound of you in the garden and I was afraid.
Because I was naked and I hid myself.
And he said who told you you were naked.
Have you eaten of the tree of which I commanded you not to eat?
And the man said the woman Who you gave to be with me?
She gave me fruit and I of the tree and I ate.
The Lord said to the woman what is this you have done.
The woman said The serpent deceived me and I hate the Lord.
God said to the serpent because you have done this cursed.
Are you above all livestock above all the beasts of the field on your belly?
Shall you go in the dust?
Shall you eat all the days of your life?
And I will put enmity between you and the woman.
Between your offspring and her offspring and he shall bruise your head and you shall bruise his
heel.
To the woman he said I will surely multiply your pain and childbearing in pain.
You shall bring forth children.
Your desire shall be contrary to your husband, but he shall rule over you.
And to Adam.
He said because you have listened to the voice of your wife and have eaten of the tree of which I have commanded you you shall not eat of
cursed.
This is the ground because of you in pain.
You shall eat of it all the days of your life.
Thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you.
And you shall eat the plants of the field.
By the sweat of your face you shall eat bread.
Till you return to the ground.
For out of it you were taken.
For you are dust and to the dust you shall return.
The man called his wife's name Eve because she is the mother of the living
and the Lord God made for Adam.
And.
For his wife garments of skin and clothed them.
And the Lord God said behold man has become like one of us knowing good
and evil now.
Does he reach out his hand and all and take also from the tree of?
Life and eat and live forever.
Notice that therefore The Lord God sent him
out From the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he was taken.
And he drove the man out At the east of the Garden of Eden and he
placed the cherubim with flame and sword turning every way to guard
the way to the tree of.
Life.
When a covenant is given in scriptures it is given with conditions
and the covenant to Adam it it.
The condition Was to not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil
that if you eat from this tree you will surely die.
This pointing us to verse 22.
Then the Lord God said behold man has become like one of us knowing good
and evil now.
Let's he reach out his hand and take also
from the tree of life and eat and live forever.
Notice back at our text in chapter 2
verse 17.
It says.
But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat for in the day that you eat of it You will surely
Die.
A lot of people get so confused right here where it tells him that he was surely died.
His death was him being removed from the tree of life.
The only way at this time in the context for Adam to live was to eat of the tree of life.
You eat of this and you'll live forever by removing him From the
garden from the presence of this tree.
It was a sure way for him and all his posterity to die.
The condition given to the given in the Abrahamic Covenant Was that he and his descendants were
to circumcise every male throughout their generation and if anyone wasn't Circumcised they
were cut off removed from the people.
The condition given in the Mosaic Covenant was keep the law and live in the land.
The condition given in the Davidic Covenant was that one would come From David that would build the
house of God the throne of God and he would keep the commandments and statutes of God.
So the condition would be that one will come he would have to build a house build the throne and keep the
commandments.
All three had to be done.
These are conditional covenants.
God began an earthly kingdom people through the Abrahamic Covenant and said all the male
children Born in this covenant were to take the sign of the covenants,
which is baptism.
I mean, excuse me, which is Which is circumcision?
Through Moses.
The Mosaic Covenant this kingdom people received two things.
They received a law the Ten Commandments and they received the land the land of Canaan
and they also received sacraments of That covenant the sacraments were
sacrifices and offerings.
Listen this is key.
Don't forget this only the kingdom people partook in the
sacrifices and offerings.
Only.
Don't forget this don't let this go over your head.
Only the kingdom people only those who were of Abraham partook
and sacrifices and offerings the Jebusites.
The.
Name them none of them the Philistines.
None of them partook.
And the sacrifices and offerings you had to be of Abraham.
You had to be a kingdom people to partake in the sacraments.
In our text Genesis chapter 315, I believe it's clear concerning the covenant of grace
that it was I promise only in the old covenant and It was fulfilled in the new
covenant through the resurrection of Jesus the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
I want to read that just one more time.
God's speaking to the serpent pronounces on him his curse.
His curse is our gracious covenant.
I will put enmity between you the serpent and the woman at this time Eve.
And.
Between your offspring and her offspring and he this offspring coming from her
shall bruise your head.
And you shall bruise his heel.
Yesterday on a Facebook group.
Someone mentioned that asking about dispensational's.
Why aren't they are they?
Do they deny that the covenant of grace was established in Genesis 315?
I put sure but so do 1689 Federalist Baptist.
We deny that it was established and he tried to give me
some feet with some uh some pushback.
And I was like, yes, it's revealed.
The gospel is revealed, but it's revealed only.
It's established when Jesus Christ is crucified when the veil is rent.
I Said sir, go back to Genesis and show me we're in Genesis 315.
That this was fulfilled.
Which his tune changed the next thing, you know, now he's claiming to be a Federalist because you can't know
Presbyterian.
No 20th century Baptist can show that in Genesis 315 that that covenant was established.
It was a promise only looking forward only listen.
How do you know I?
Will put enmity.
I will this is something that I'm going to do.
I will put enmity between you and the woman between your offspring and hers.
Hey, this future coming offspring will bruise your head and you will bruise his heel.
Not that it's about to happen in a minute.
It's just something that's going to happen.
The covenant of grace is a promise only.
It's fulfilled in Christ.
And if that's true, which I believe it is then that means the covenant of grace is
the new covenant.
It's not the old covenant the old covenant is not the covenant of grace.
The new covenant is the covenant of grace all Faithful men and women in the Old Testament
who were saved sanctified and delivered.
They were looking forward to this promise offspring that would come from Abraham.
That would come from the woman that would come from Abraham.
There will be the one like unto Moses that would that would come and on the only throne of David.
They were looking to him.
And the sacraments of the new covenant are as follows the Word of God
baptism and the Lord's Supper.
Listen these three sacraments are only for those in the new covenant.
Just like the old covenant their sacraments of sacrifices and offerings were only for the covenant people.
These three sacraments in the new covenant baptism, I mean the Word of God
Baptism and the Lord's Supper, they're only for new covenant people.
They're not for unbelievers.
The gospel is for unbelievers.
But being able to grow Under the means of grace that's for believers.
Let's do the Word of God preached baptism and the Lord's Supper.
Now as Baptists we believe in what's called a regenerate membership meaning.
The membership of a local congregation is to consist of those who have received Christ by faith and have
been.
Baptized.
This means that believers are to sit under the Word of God Baptized and partake in the
Lord's Supper.
Now talking to my wife and I know that that this kind of teaching is something that's
probably Should have been done in Sunday school.
But in order for us to take these next few steps that we were going in Hebrews These things had to be
explained.
Because I would have really liked to been able to teach this and being able to have some feedback Back and forth as
we went through this.
I think that that would have been a lot more fun for me.
So as Baptists we believe that.
We.
That the believer is to sit under God's Word baptized and he she is to
partake in the Lord's Supper.
We don't believe that someone can be in the covenant and also.
We don't believe that someone can be in the new covenant and also be in the covenant of works
at the same time.
So you can't be in both covenants.
One cannot be under the federal headship of Adam and also be under the
federal headship of Christ.
Note our Presbyterian brothers profess that their children are in the covenants.
Given them the covenant sign baptism.
Yet knowing their child has not received Christ by faith.
We have three sacraments.
And there are for those who are in the covenant The Word of God
Baptism and the Lord's Supper.
You cannot be in both covenants.
So the question is so Could I be wrong?
Can someone be in the Covenant and not in the covenant.
Can these baptized children be in Adam and be in Christ at the same
time?
Like is that is that something that's possible?
And to quote Samuel Rinehan.
We would assert that you cannot in quote.
Look with me real quick at Romans chapter 8.
Romans chapter 8 verse 9.
After doing the study like I was telling my wife yesterday doing the study I'm just so ready to just start calling for
debates.
Like I'm ready to just line up debate after debate with my Presbyterian brother and to challenge them on this
belief.
Listen to this Paul speaking to a believers.
You however are not in the flesh.
But in the Spirit.
If in fact the Spirit of God Dwells in you.
Listen right here.
Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ Does not belong
to him.
You cannot be in Adam and in Christ.
Notice what this verse says.
Anyone.
Who does not have the Spirit?
What do we look at last week?
Last week.
What did it call the Spirit the promise?
Last week we looked in Acts chapter 2 and it says all That the promise is
for you the Jews is for your children and for those who are far off.
And we traced the that the promise was speaking about the Holy Spirit.
That's the promise.
If you do not have the promise You do not belong to Christ.
And.
Yet they say that their children are in the covenant.
That their children somehow belong to Christ.
Ladies and gentlemen, that is wrong.
That is a faulty covenant theology.
And that is why our forefathers in the Baptist faith those who who
grafted together to 1689 were not only Reforming from the the
Catholic Church the Roman Catholic Church, but they were all they were also reforming from the Presbyterian
Church.
Because their covenant theology was faulty and I pointed out last week
That we agree with our Presbyterian brothers that baptism is the sign of the covenant.
Our biggest disagreement would be which Circumcision is baptism pointing to.
Y 'all remember that argument which circumcision is baptism pointing to?
We would not say that circumcision that the circumcision that was given to the male children of the
Israelites Was pointing to the sign that we hold to as baptism.
Listen, Paul never makes that connection.
Paul never makes that connection in Galatians when he speaks against circumcision.
Imagine if you would when the Judaizers were trying to
force circumcision Paul coming up to them and saying.
Hey brothers.
We have baptism.
Baptism replaces circumcision.
Why are you tripping?
Stop tripping?
We baptized him.
It's replaced circumcision.
They're good.
Does he make that argument?
Absolutely not.
But if baptism did replace circumcision, that's the argument that should have been made.
We believe that it's speaking about the circumcision of Christ and I believe I made this point
last week the circumcision of Christ is the crucifixion of Christ.
The New Covenant sign baptism carries information.
It doesn't carry information about a circumcision.
It carries the information about what Christ did on our behalf.
When he died the death in our place.
And it does not point to anything else.
Your baptism does not point to anything else and I won't go too deep
into it, but we'll just look at it real quick.
Colossians chapter 2 we looked at it last week.
But beginning the verse 11 it says in him also.
You were circumcised with the circumcision made without hands.
So whatever the circumcision is, this is something that's not done to you.
So whatever the circumcision that our baptism points to it's something that's not done to us.
It's made without hands.
By putting off the body of flesh by the circumcision of Christ.
So this circumcision that's being performed on us.
It's putting off our body of flesh and it's the circumcision of Christ.
It says having been buried with him in baptism and then I trace that to
Romans chapter 6.
Verse 3 it says do you not know that all of us who were baptized into Christ were
baptized into his death?
Pointing that our our baptism were baptized.
That the sign that it's pointing to is the baptism of Jesus.
But not at the one that he was done by John.
But it's the one that was done through the crucifixion having been buried with him in baptism.
This is speaking of him being put into the team
having been buried with him in baptism in which you were raised with him through faith and the Powerful
working of God who raised him from the dead and you were dead in your seat right here.
You go back to 11.
In him you were circumcised without the Circumcision made of hands by putting off the body of flesh verse 13
and you were dead in your trespasses in the uncircumcision of your flesh God made
you alive in him having forgiven us of our sins.
So this this circumcision that our baptism is pointing to is a circumcision That's made
without hands that it that in this circumcision We're putting off the body of flesh and that it's the circumcision
of Christ and through this our sins are forgiven.
The circumcision that's done to us that our baptism points to.
That did not happen when the G's were taking the foreskin off of the male children.
That's not what our baptism points to.
It points to Christ Jesus his death burial and resurrection.
That's what granted us forgiveness of sins and as we transition
the condition of the new covenant the conditions of the new covenant are
Faith and repentance.
So I read you or I read to you earlier what the conditions were for each covenant.
The condition for this covenant the new covenant now some reformed Baptist will say that there's no condition.
I beg to differ it's faith and Repentance, but the deal is is that faith?
Is the gift of God?
We read that in Ephesians chapter 2 verse 89.
For by grace you have been saved through faith.
And this is not of your own doing.
The nearest antecedent to the this is not of your own doing is faith.
Faith is not of your own.
Doing all right, and then we have repentance
Repentance in.
And so I would say that repentance is granted faith is the gift and Repentance is grant is
granted.
You can find that in Acts 531 acts 11 18 and 2nd
Timothy 2 25 will read just one.
Let's read the 2nd Timothy 1.
2nd Timothy 225.
We'll start in verse 24.
2nd Timothy 2.
We're going to start in verse 24.
And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome.
But kind to everyone able to teach patiently enduring evil.
Correcting his opponents with gentleness.
God may perhaps Grant them repentance.
Leading to a knowledge of truth.
Is it up to us that they get repentance and be led to a knowledge of truth.
No.
It's God and we are to be kind when we preach the gospel.
Faith is the gift.
Repentance is granted.
So I gave an analogy several times about a house.
Imagine if I was to give you a house and I'm pointing that it's to the old covenant that that in this house.
It's a nice house.
I'm charging a thousand dollars a month.
And if you don't pay me, I'm kicking you out.
That's old covenant.
The condition is a thousand dollars.
Don't pay me you're gone new covenants.
I'm giving you a house.
The payment is a thousand dollars, but I'm Giving you the money.
That's the new covenant.
The conditions that we are to to to give to God is a gift to
us to give to God.
It's faith and repentance we are to believe and turn from our sins.
Jesus Christ who his spirit grants to us faith.
Gives us faith and grants to us repentance.
The two things that he asked for are the two things that he gives us.
That is why this is a gracious covenant.
Now point number three the covenant of grace is the covenant of works fulfilled.
Now I know this might Sound a little awkward.
I'm preaching against works.
Now.
I'm saying that the covenant of grace is the covenant of works fulfilled.
The deal is is that every conditional covenant given in the old covenant was
fulfilled by one person so every every
Conditional covenant given in the old covenant has been fulfilled and it's been fulfilled by
one person.
So the deal is is that if Adam Would have kept the covenant.
He would have earned eternal life for himself and his posterity.
Jesus comes keeps the covenant and he earns eternal life for everyone who believes in him faith.
He Jesus is the last Adam.
If you are in Christ, listen.
If you are in Christ you are in union with him meaning he is the federal head and as goes the King
so goes the kingdom.
Just like if Adam would have eaten from this tree of life.
He would have kept the covenant.
He would have eaten from this tree of life.
He didn't stay in the net garden.
And his posterity his kids would have been able to eat from this tree of life and had eternal life.
Jesus lives the life.
We could not live.
He's able to eat of this.
Well, he's eating with that tree, but he's a hey Excuse me.
He lived a life.
We could not live and in doing so he earned eternal life for all those who put their faith in him.
So because he has eternal life we have eternal life.
As goes the King so goes the kingdom.
Christ the offspring of the woman is the offspring of Abraham and in him all the nations
of the world will be blessed.
So all the nations in the world I believe are going to be blessed through that one person who kept the covenant
that is Jesus Christ now We'll look at the law under the law.
He was circumcised and he walked before his father blameless.
Abraham was given circumcision and Abraham was told to walk before God blameless.
Jesus Christ was circumcised and he walked before his father blameless with perfection.
He kept the requirements of the law and in doing so he earned the land for everyone
who believes in him so if you believe That earth will one day be heaven that that
heaven is going to come to earth.
That the meek shall inherit the earth.
Well, thank God.
Because Jesus kept the requirements.
He lived the life.
He could not live and in doing so by keeping the law.
Keep the law and live in the land.
Jesus kept the law and he will live in the land as goes the King so goes the kingdom.
Now when you hear me say, okay, he lived the life.
We could not live and what I'm really saying is as goes the King.
So goes the kingdom.
So every time from now on when you hear me say he lived the life.
We could not live.
Think as goes the King so goes the kingdom.
Look at first Corinthians.
First Corinthians chapter 15.
Verses 19 through 23, and then we'll go over to verse 45.
It's
going to be correlating with from with Adam to Christ.
Verse 19
if in Christ we have hope in this life only
we are of.
All people.
Most to be pitied if our hope
in this life Christ is only for this life.
It's only for the for what's right now for for only the earthly.
Ladies and gentlemen, we are above all people to be pitied.
That's what this is saying if this is earthly.
If this is if Christ came only for the earthly We are to be pitied.
But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead the first fruit of those who have Fallen
asleep.
For as by one man I'm assuming for as
by a man came death.
By a man has also come the resurrection of the dead for as in Adam
all die.
So also and Christ shall all be made alive.
But each in his own order Christ the first fruits and then at his coming those who
belong to Christ.
So.
If you're Everyone who was born we are born under the federal headship of Adam.
It's only whenever we are given faith and repentance.
Are we? covered in this garment of Christ that we have the Righteousness of Christ that
Christ is our federal head and so
we die like Adam died.
Now look at verse 45 through 49.
Thus it is written.
The first man Adam became a living being the last Adam
Became a life -given.
Spirit.
But if it But it is not the spiritual that come that that is
first, but the natural and then the spiritual.
The first man was that was of was from the earth a man of
dust.
Remember Genesis chapter 3.
The first man was from the earth a man of dust the
second man from heaven.
As Was the man of dust so also those who were of the
dust?
This is speaking about those who you know when Christ comes as those who are of the dust.
They will be with the man of dust.
They will be dust and
As is the man of heaven so also are those who are of heaven.
You have the two federal heads here.
We read that again.
You know the federal head of Adam and the federal head of Jesus.
As with the man of dust the federal head of Adam so also are those
Who are under his federal headship?
Are the.
It's one way you can look at it.
And as the man of heaven those who are Under the federal headship of Adam.
I mean of Christ so also are those Of heaven
as goes the king so it goes the kingdom.
Just at just as we were born listen.
Just as we were born the image of the man of dust We're all born the image of the man of dust
so shall we also bear the image of the man of heaven.
Notice the the the earthly then.
The spiritual God created an earthly kingdom the Israelites and
that the church is the.
Eschatological Israelite.
Israelites is the physical earthly kingdom.
It's Adam.
The church is the body of Jesus Christ.
It's the spiritual.
And he's saying that just as the one bore the image of Adam.
This this body of believers this church.
They're going to bear the image of Christ.
Why.
Because they're being conformed into the image of Christ.
Because they're partaking.
They're they're underneath this that this umbrella of God's holy word there that they're
baptized and they're partaking in the sacraments.
They're in his kingdom.
They have been given eyes to see they have been given faith and feet to enter.
Because as goes the king so goes the kingdom.
With his life.
He kept the covenant of works as Well as the law of Moses and in his death he
died as a substitutionary atonement.
Second Corinthians chapter 5.
2nd Corinthians chapter 5.
I want to begin in verse 17.
I won't give any commentary.
I promise.
Therefore If anyone is in Christ
He is a new creation.
I lied the old has passed.
Adam has passed.
I'm sorry.
I didn't see that one.
Adam is hasn't behold new has come.
Christ the image of Christ the church.
Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.
The old has passed and behold the new has come.
All this is from God Who through Christ reconciles Reconciled us to
himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation that is in Christ.
God was Reconciling the world to himself not counting their trespasses against them and
entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.
Therefore we are ambassadors of Christ God making his appeal
through us.
We implore you on the behalf of Christ to be Reconciled to God.
If you're here today, and you are not a Christian I implore you on the behalf of God to be
reconciled to him.
For our sake he made him Jesus to be sin who
knew no sin so that we Might become the righteousness of God.
How do you become the righteousness of God by believing in Jesus?
By trusting in him so it says that he made him sin, so he
became sin.
And then you want to say well.
Well, how how did that happen?
And my answer is by him being nailed to a tree.
Look at verse 13 of chapter 3 of Galatians.
Galatians chapter 3 verse 13.
Christ Redeemed us from the curse of the law by
Becoming a curse for us for it is written cursed is
Everyone who was hung on the tree.
And I know there's plenty of people who would Tickle your brain by saying that every sin you
ever committed.
It's put on Christ.
And that's I guess that's a way of thinking of it, but scripture tells you how it happened him being nailed to a
tree.
That's where he became the curse.
That's where sin was applied to him by being nailed to the tree.
Cursed is anyone who is hung on a tree.
That's where it happened.
That's how it happened.
He who knew no sin became sin by being nailed to a tree and became a curse.
That's not tickling your mind.
That's truth.
That's scripture explaining itself that although the the covenant and the law was broken.
That although the covenant and the law was broken.
And and and then he comes and he keeps the covenant and he keeps the law.
He was cut off from the land of the living.
Isaiah 53.
He was treated as.
If he didn't keep the covenant, he was treated as if he did not keep the law.
He was treated as if he lived my life.
And so the call of faith and the call of repentance is this if you're not a Christian
first.
When you look to Christ and turn from your sins, you will find rest in Christ.
Ladies and gentlemen, that's a promise.
You do not have to try to be something that you're not.
Through the preached message of God's Word if you Are given repentance and faith
and you turn to him you will find rest for your soul.
Because one cannot enter the covenant apart from repentance and faith.
Only those who have repented who have turned from their sins and have put their faith in Jesus
Christ are in the covenant.
If you have not repented if you have not put your faith in Jesus Christ, you are not in the new
covenant.
And as for the Christian I Would encourage you to continue to look to Christ
to continue to turn from your sins and to trust.
That as goes the King so goes the kingdom.
That will be with him one day because as goes the King so goes the kingdom.
Kings not going nowhere without us.
So the answer the question.
So are we saved by works of the law?
And the answer is yes the works of Jesus
Christ.
Keeping the covenant and keeping the law.
Not you keeping the covenant and you keeping the law or say by what Christ
Jesus has done not by anything.
That we can do and if you've ever read the whole Bible.
To that you should sing glory.
You should sing glory because if you miss it one time You've missed
it.
Adam took one bite.
And caused the whole caused the whole world to fall into a curse.
And how many bites have we taken to that you should sing glory.
I'm available to anyone who wants to talk
Josh as well.
Just know that we're here for you.
We love you.
Let's pray.
Oh God you are so gracious.
We are unworthy to be kept and yet you keep us you have us in your hand.
And no one can remove us from your hand the covenant that you have
established that Jesus has
Asked Jesus has kept.
Or that you chose to save a people and in doing so you sent your son to accomplish this purpose.
Lord every one of us in here today that has been saved that has been gifted with the promise of the Holy
Spirit that even In that the Holy Spirit was accomplished what was
applying the purpose by another individual preaching what Christ has done for us.
That he kept the covenant.
That he kept the covenant of works and that he kept the law.
Oh God help us even as believers to to look to Christ for that.
Help us to understand and to trust the sufficiency of Jesus Christ knowing that we don't have to keep this law.
That we believe in Jesus Christ and in our believing.
In our turning from sin.
You are conforming us into the image of your son and that one day at the
Resurrection we will not rise from the dust covered in dust.
But that we will rise from the ashes covered in the garment of heaven as
if Jesus Christ himself Was on our back.
Pulling us from the grave.
Oh God, I pray for our children.
Lord, please lighten their eyes to see the beauty of Jesus Christ face to face.
Lord we pray For the supper and Lord, we just ask.
That you sustain us through the week through it Lord.
That you will use it to grow us in holiness that as we partake today Lord that you will do something
Supernatural in us.
That you will cause us to love you more through the preach word of those that are baptized partaking
in this meal.
Lord grow us in holiness conform us into the image of your son.
Let us not fall into temptation, but let us look to you the only God who has revealed yourself
In Jesus Christ, we pray.
Amen.
