- Good Saturday morning, people of faith. This weekend we are reading in the book of Psalms again.

- We have Psalm 130, Psalm 132, Psalms 134 through 137,

- Psalm 146, and Psalm 147. And today I'm going to be looking at Psalm 146.

- Let me read. Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord, O my soul. While I live,

- I will praise the Lord. I will sing praises to my God while I have my being.

- Do not put your trust in princes, nor in a son of man in whom there is no help.

- It's election year and it's a good reminder that whoever or whomever is elected is not the one that we will put our trust in.

- We will put our trust in the Lord. Now, oftentimes that verse is used by some to mean that you can vote for whoever you want.

- That is not what that means. It means that whoever is elected is not the one in whom we trust.

- Now, very important, it says, nor in a son of man in whom there is no help.

- Now, very important that it says, nor in a son of man.

- Now, that means a human being. There is no salvation, no help in just a human being.

- But there is the son of man, the son of man that was foreshown to us in the book of Daniel and fulfilled for us in the gospels.

- This son of man is no mere man, not at all.

- He is the King of Kings. He is the Lord of Lords. This is our

- Jesus, our Savior, the one who came to this earth to live and then die for us, fulfilling the righteous requirements of the law so that we might be found in him.

- So it is not a son of man in whom we place our trust.

- But it is rather the son of man in whom we place our trust.

- In him, there is salvation. In him, there is our help.

- Let us pray. Heavenly Father, thank you that you have sent your son to die in our stead and that you raised him to life, that we might have new life in him.
