God of the Bible. Let's walk through people who have beef with John MacArthur and then we'll conclude with what all this means.

Joel Osteen by name. A few weeks ago there was an event here at Dodger Stadium with Joel Osteen. 35 ,000 people at Dodger Stadium, something like that.

When MacArthur refers to Osteen's church, he puts quotes around it, implying that it's not a true church.

He is now the largest quote -unquote church, using the word loosely, in America. Why would MacArthur be so harsh towards Osteen, who is always smiling?

I know everyone calls you the smiling preacher, but you are not the smiling preacher, you're the smiling person.

You're always happy, full of joy. And always encouraging. What would happen if you would start loving yourself, accepting your gifts, not beating yourself up for mistakes, not down on yourself because of weaknesses?

Stay positive towards yourself. Well, it's because of the central message Osteen teaches, which is not at all the gospel of Jesus Christ.

You need to understand that he is a pagan religionist in every sense. He's a quasi -pantheist. Jesus is a footnote that satisfies his critics and deceives his followers.

MacArthur once called out Benny Hinn by name on his radio program, and Hinn was very upset about this.

I'd blow your head off. Julie Roy has published many articles deeply critical of MacArthur.

Probably the most notable articles Roy has published have to do with a scandal concerning Eileen Gray.

This article says, John MacArthur shamed excommunicated mother for refusing to take back child abuse.

And this article says, John MacArthur's church supported convicted child abuser and pedophile.

Records show if these allegations are true, they are certainly very bad. How has MacArthur responded to these allegations?

Grace Community Church released this statement, which included responses such as, this case is complex and there's more to the story of this couple's marital strife and their interactions with counselors than the evidence contained in public court records.

The main exculpatory facts in this case pertain to things that were said in the privacy of confidential pastoral counseling.

Essentially, we as outsiders don't have all the details about everything that happened. And those who are convinced they know who is right have basically chosen to believe one particular side.

When asked to describe Stephen Furtick, MacArthur said this, Stephen Furtick, unqualified.

In response, Furtick wrote a book titled Unqualified. So I ran back into the room to see what he was going to say about me.

And his body language said it all. He sighs, he exhales, as if the mere consideration of my name was wearisome to the great man.

You know, just the burden of the universe to even have to consider my name. And the crowd started to chuckle, signifying that apparently he wasn't a fan.

And he says this following word. He just says one word to summarize me. And I guess you could guess what the word is.

He said, unqualified. But what surprised me was that I kind of agreed and I was fine with it.

And after I thought through my emotions for a few minutes, it was like I thought, yeah, that has a nice ring to it.

Unqualified. MacArthur has called out Mark Driscoll for being excessively crass and crude.

And that the evangelical interest in Donald Trump and his crassness and rudeness and brashness and profanity, the way has been prepared by Mark Driscoll among evangelicals.

Driscoll has hit back at MacArthur by trying to sell his books at one of MacArthur's conferences.

But of course, since Driscoll was not an invited guest, security escorted him off the site.

I hear the new president say that she's his favorite preacher to whom he's been listening since 2007.

Frightening. Why are all these false teachers so successful? Because they're in line with Satan, who's the god of this world.

And Paula White has responded to MacArthur's criticisms of her. Pastor John MacArthur, he's come under fire in recent days for his comments about women and their role in the church.

And he said that Beth Moore should go home. What are your thoughts? Well, first off, I'm such a person that believes in unifying the body of Christ.

I know what it is to be on the brunt. I've been doing this for 35 years in ministry. So I know what it is for people to make all kinds of slanderous remarks, to make all kinds of not saying that what he says, because that's his conviction, but saying that I know what it is to have malice and lies and everything all around me.

And so I pray for people. I really do. I pray for John MacArthur. I pray for that God would tender his heart.

MacArthur received a lot of criticism for what he said about Beth Moore in this controversial clip, both for what he said and the way in which he said it.

The word is Beth Moore. That's two words. You know, actually, before you answer this, please think carefully this time, because last time you did a one word association, the guy wrote a book about it, and we don't want that.

I was thinking of the same word. Okay. Go home. There's no case that can be made biblically for a woman preacher.

Period. Paragraph. End of discussion. Moore eventually responded to MacArthur on Twitter saying,

I did not surrender to a calling of man when I was 18 years old. I surrendered to a calling of God.

Gavin Newsom on CNN on the issue of homosexuality. I don't see what we're doing in terms of advancing the bond of love and monogamy and extending that to families, families of same sex.

No, that's not a theological debate. That's just a straight question. MacArthur also wrote an open letter directly to Newsom in response to Newsom's billboard ad supporting abortion using the words of Jesus.

And on all those billboards, he included the words of Jesus. Billboards advertising abortion.

MacArthur led a protest against Justin Trudeau's new law in Canada, making conversion therapy illegal.

The Parliament of Canada passed a bill called C4. It was passed by 100 % of the

Parliament. There were no dissenting votes. Bill C4 makes it a crime to try to convert someone from homosexuality or transgender.

The problem with the bill was its broad language concerning what exactly conversion therapy was.

So what does it mean that MacArthur's willingness to call so many people out by name has resulted in MacArthur having more enemies and critics than pretty much any other pastor today?

Well, I certainly don't think MacArthur's perfect. I think it's arguable that sometimes he has been unnecessarily offensive, such as in the case of Beth Moore.

And I certainly don't know all the details concerning all of Julie Royce's allegations against MacArthur.

And I have serious issues with MacArthur's dispensational and new covenant theology.

But in a world where false teaching abounds and where hostility towards Christians abounds,

MacArthur is unique in his fearlessness in communicating the truth about false teachers, tyrannical dictators, and controversial subjects.

It would be different if MacArthur's targets and critics were people who were boldly fighting for and defending the entirety of Scripture.

However, the problem is that the people criticizing MacArthur tend to be the ones who are compromising the truth of the gospel and the clear teachings of Scripture to please the demands of the culture.

So, as unpopular as this sounds, my conclusion is that we need more men who are as unpopular as John MacArthur.
