- All right, I've been asked to give five tips on how to get started in abortion ministry. Everywhere you go, everything's going to be a little bit different, but these are five things that I think are pretty essential.
- 00:13
- Number one, I think that the best deal is when we are able to own that abortion clinic, when you're able to get somebody there full time to head up the ministry there.
- 00:25
- I'm so thankful that there's people around the country now that are doing that, but it's very important to own that place.
- 00:33
- I'm at my abortion clinic every day, and there's people that can come and minister. They know that they're going to be in Orlando that day or a certain day for some other doctor's appointment or something.
- 00:45
- So they know, though, that they can come by that clinic and minister there for an hour or two or do whatever on any day, and then once everybody knows that you're there, then it flows that people would come down and minister with you.
- 01:00
- It's very important that you have the local church behind you and that you're supported and fed and taken care of by the people in your church, that they agree with you that they're behind this type of ministry, that they believe that the church should be down fighting for the lives of innocent babies and that the gospel should be brought to such a wicked place.
- 01:29
- Now, I know there's a lot of people whose churches aren't behind them for that, but I would suggest then that you try to find another church.
- 01:38
- I know that I wouldn't be able to do what I do if I didn't have the support, love, and care of not only the leaders in my church, but also the members of my church.
- 01:49
- Well, they provide care, prayer, love. They support financially.
- 01:56
- They also have a support for the people that choose life. There's a group of women at our church that, when someone chooses life at the abortion clinic, you can turn them over to them, and they'll be discipled, they'll be taken care of, they'll become involved in their lives, and it's a very important, very important thing.
- 02:20
- Another thing that you need to do is to know Scripture, especially Scripture that pertains to the ministry down at the mill.
- 02:31
- God tells us in Romans 1 that the gospel is the power of God.
- 02:37
- So when we come there, our two weapons are prayer and God's Word, and those are the tools that He has instituted for us to fight this fight with.
- 02:51
- So you don't want to go down there without a sword. You don't want to go get into a battle without a sword.
- 02:57
- So just study as much as you can of Scriptures that pertain to what
- 03:03
- God thinks of abortion, what the consequences of it are, His faithfulness to everyone that is obedient and commits themselves to Him and repents of it.
- 03:15
- Always have and always be looking, never quit looking actually, for resources. I'm fortunate that I have several pregnancy centers in the
- 03:25
- Orlando area, but we also have people in our church that do, and everything from adoption to just taking care of whatever needs they have.
- 03:37
- But just always know what you can. Now it takes time. I know if you're going to go start at a brand new place, it's going to take you time to figure all these things out, but the
- 03:48
- Lord will lead you in it. It's very important too that you have follow -up with these ladies as much as they'll let you into their lives.
- 03:57
- There's a dear lady that comes down and helps the clinic where I'm at, her name's Karen. She has
- 04:03
- Bible studies and everything for people that choose life and tries to disciple them and tries to lead them all to Christ and be involved evangelistically in their families as well.
- 04:21
- That is really important because so many of them, if you're not careful, can fall through the cracks.
- 04:27
- Even when you are really trying to not let anybody fall through the cracks, it can happen.
- 04:33
- So you want people that can take care of that thing. Like all
- 04:39
- I can do myself, personally, is I go to an abortion clinic and I try to speak to people as they're arriving, and then
- 04:50
- I preach the word. And then when they come out and someone chooses life, pray with them and send them on their way with resources.
- 05:03
- But I can't be involved in all these people's lives. And the people that,
- 05:10
- I'm just like the mouth. And then there's all these other people that are hearts and hands and arms that are so desperately important.
- 05:21
- And that is the key to truly having a ministry.
- 05:27
- It's a whole package. These are just a few points that I was asked to bring out.
