- There are a number of aspects of it that I believe are appealing to different people for different reasons.

- I know within black churches, if you will, and I hate using the term, but I think people understand what

- I mean when I say the black church. In the black church, what you've seen is we've been constantly fed a steady diet of critical race theory, unbeknownst to most people that that's what we were being fed.

- The idea that race is important, that it supersedes what we need to think about with regard to Christ and Him crucified, that my race is more important than anything else.

- There's an appeal when a worldview comes along and validates that. So the worldview comes along and says, yes, everything that you thought about with regard to the importance of your race, that is absolutely what's most important about who you are.

- So from that standpoint, it appeals to a lot of brothers and sisters who happen to look like me.

- What's challenging about that is if we think about it, we're caused to begin walking off the pages of Scripture and really identify with that which is subjective, which is that which matters to me.

- I think it offers a works -based righteousness. And so what I can do is I can look like I'm doing the right thing if I'm engaged in anti -racist works, and I can justify and validate who

- I am and my righteousness on the basis of how much I'm embracing this worldview that seems to be subjecting me to being less than those that I would be advocating for.
