The 7 Days of Creation - Doctrine of the Week

The doctor of the week for this Sunday is the seven days of creation.

The Bible says in Exodus chapter 20 verse 11, for in six days, the

Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them and rested on the seventh day.

Jesus referenced the creation in Matthew 19 when speaking of Adam and Eve, he said, he who made them at the beginning made them male and female.

So the Bible clearly teaches that in six literal days, because he mentions, uh, in the evening and the morning where the first day in the evening and the morning where the second day.

So God created all things in six literal days. And if you start with Adam and Eve and add up all of the genealogies in scripture, according to the

Bible, this earth is about 6 ,000 years old.

This is all very straightforward. A person can either accept it or they can reject it, but it is what the scripture teaches.

Now, as you know, uh, atheists and those who hold to Darwin's theory of evolution do not believe this as we would expect.

They are unbelievers after all. However, you know, the real tragedy

I think, is that many modern church goers do not really believe what

Moses wrote. Some will say that the first several chapters of Genesis are symbolic, uh, they're, they're poetic.

The story of Adam and Eve in the garden is an allegory. That's what a lot of scholars would say.

Let me just say this, that is absolute nonsense. That is absolute nonsense.

First of all, the style of literature found in Genesis is that of historical narrative.

There is nothing in the text that would suggest that it is poetic. And for those who don't think that this is a real big issue, consider this.

If a person doesn't believe in the first few chapters of the Bible, are they really going to take a face value?

What comes after it? Also, and this is my favorite, uh, apologetic on this subject.

In Luke chapter three, we see the genealogy of Jesus Christ and it goes all the way back to who to Adam.

How many of you have an allegory in your family tree allegories don't get into the family tree.

Okay. So Christians who have the Holy Spirit as their teacher, they will believe the words of their teacher.

And he tells us of a young earth that was created, formed and filled by God, not by chance or some sort of evolutionary process.
