Exposing the Leg-Lengthening Faith Healing Trick

Would go around and look for people that were like limping with obvious sicknesses. Is there any problems at all physically? My back isn't the best and I'd go up to him and ask to pray for them. They tell your legs shorter your one leg shorter than the other one that throws you back out.

2014 this is a really great trick and you're gonna see in a moment here that it is a trick.

So what I'll do regardless of what you believe I'm gonna pray for you and Jesus is gonna grow your leg out and heal your Back. So father. I thank you in Jesus name. Left leg. I command you grow right now Jesus name.

And then if I was done if they received it, well, which most did I'd be like Oh God loves you so much. Have a good day. I'm not like out here to say you need to know dude. God loves you, bro. And that's it man.

And apparently there is an epidemic in this country of people with having one leg just a little bit shorter than the other.

In every sense I would say Todd White is as much a magician as he claims to be a man of God.

Charlatans and snake oil salesmen have been doing this trick for decades. It's slight of hand now.

Why the Todd White Clip Is Manipulated

We're gonna see Todd White's clip sped up quite a bit and looped back and forth. Now this is where we can see what's really going on here. The leg on our right is supposed to be the short leg and this is the leg which should be miraculously growing, but it's not.

Look at the leg on our left. That's where all the action is. That's what's actually being manipulated. You can see that Todd is actually pivoting or shifting the foot of the so-called long leg so that the heels match.

Now he's doing this very slowly over time, but it's painfully obvious when you speed up the clip. Look look look. It's not my job to call their doctor. A lot of the healings sound incredible and sometimes nobody in the place seems more stunned than Pastor Benny.

But no matter how incredible the cure he will use them on his TV show. This is your day without even checking back with the individual for verification. Anybody could make up anything someday somebody's gonna do that.

And what are you gonna say then? I don't know. I can't tell you now. Doesn't happen yet. Oh, yes, it has. Remember that woman supposedly cured of polio. Pastor Benny knows it made for a great episode of his TV show.

He knows it probably helped squeeze even bigger donations from his flock, but there's something he doesn't know. All I know is your pastor. Let me tell you let me say something. Go ahead that woman works for us.

Woman doesn't have polio. Never did. Then why did you say she had we put her up there to see if he could tell her. Story was not true. To see if it would matter to see if he would ever check and you said right here and told me.

A few moments ago. We never put him on television unless we checked you never called that woman. You never called her doctor. You did no checking whatsoever. Well, she was one we missed and Speaking of missed who missed the truth about this woman who claimed to be born profoundly deaf unable to hear a word There was plenty of time to thoroughly check her story before publishing his latest book.

But apparently nobody bothered in your book the last chapter. It says Candace Brousseau was born profoundly deaf in both ears, correct, but candy's dr Howard house he's treated her more than 35 years and he knows Benny's claim in the book is simply not true.

She was born with a very severe hearing loss. She was not born deaf. So in addition to not being truthful about Doing the follow-up following up with the doctors Benny has said this claim this many occasions that he never puts anyone up on his Television program unless his ministry first follows up at one point an old interview.

I saw of him. He says we have five steps to our follow-up. Well, no, they don't. In fact I've spoken with someone not Kosti, but someone else who used to work for Benny Hinn's ministry. And I asked this young man I said Benny Hinn claims that there is a department in the ministry that follows up with These people who claim they've been healed to see if they really are healed.

Does that do you know of this department? He said not only do I not know about it doesn't exist so Benny Hinn's just he's lying and he's lied about this for.

The Psychosomatic Nature of Faith Healings

Decades literally as you pray. Pray over them. Command now the spirit of affliction. Loose that hip in Jesus name. Command it gone. Just just speak health into that hip. Some actually need a creative miracle.

There's degenerative condition in the joint. So the worlds were made when God spoke them into being so. Speak to that new hip. What I'd like to do is just declare all things new. We just speak to the joint now all things new in Jesus name.

Nine and why do you want to be baptized? You want to what you want to be healed. Come here. What's wrong with your eye Lord. I just pray that she be able to see when she comes up out of the baptism waters.

Father we just baptize her in the name of the Father the Son of the Holy Ghost. Check your eyes now. Lord we just thank you that you're gonna do a miracle in her eye in Jesus name.

There are so many problems with supposed Christian faith healers such as Kenneth Copeland Benny Hinn Todd Bentley Bill Johnson TB Joshua and Chris Oya Kalomi. One major problem is the psychosomatic nature of these supposed healings.

There is an enormous difference between healing a chronic disease or disability permanently and people thinking they have been healed simply because they are. Experiencing a rush of adrenaline and emotion which is what we see from these supposed faith healers.

I'm what's even more interesting is that in this heightened state of emotions of euphoria of adrenaline It's very possible to feel symptoms being alleviated. It's possible even for someone who is in a wheelchair to momentarily be able to get up and walk around.

But what we are really witnessing is just a moment of mind over body. The placebo effect is a well-known phenomenon. It's when a patient's condition changes after receiving a treatment that by no means should have changed their condition now.

What you won't see and I know you would affirm this from your years in Working for your uncle. What you will not see is somebody that looks like me.

Stand up and start running around cerebral palsy. Yeah, throw the crutches. Yeah. See you later.

Right, exactly. If Todd white can command someone's leg to grow about half an inch. Then theoretically he should be able to command an amputee to grow a new limb. Why doesn't he do that? There's no videos of that.

There's no videos of an amputee growing a new limb. There's no videos of a Down syndrome child being restored. Yeah, why not? If you can command a leg to grow.

Then command a Down syndrome child to be which they've called sickness and disease. By the way many times which I Spent some time working there's a few years volunteering with a special needs organization best volunteer years of my life.

And the Very first few weeks there I learned a lot and I got my worldview flipped upside down on on. What special needs ministry really is. And one of the things that was devastating? To these parents and to these people is the idea that you know whether it's an extra chromosome or whatever people view it as or whatever is.

That they're sickly and they're diseased and they actually need to be healed and fixed of it as well. Right oftentimes that was devastating to parents and right and you know, and you're right There is no where's the healing ministry that suddenly solves right this issue.

Right that is perceived to be sickness and disease that they've actually called it that many miracle seekers make long.

The Harm of Blaming the Sick and Disabled for Lacking Faith

Difficult journeys to see Bennyhead like Linda Tyson and her 17 year old paralyzed son Shanda's. They drive six hours from their home in Elba, Alabama. I'm hoping for a miracle a big blessing. But from the specialist familiar with Shanda's injury the prognosis is bleak.

It would be very unusual for someone having this severe an injury to have a miraculous recovery.

Shanda's was a star football player Recruited by several colleges and honor student until a routine tackle in his high school's homecoming game. Left him hopelessly paralyzed. People always say things happen for a reason.

To this day. I don't know What reason. I try not to ask why? Arriving late in Atlanta mother and son cannot get into the crusade. They find shelter from the rain in a concession area beneath the arena.

They will return the following night. It scares me because I know I'm not the healer. I become aware of my responsibility to Make sure that these dear people Realize first, I'm not their answer, but Jesus is the answer.

Linda Tyson and her son Shanda's who were turned away the first night of the crusade Also failed to get in the second night. But they were taken backstage where Benny hen briefly laid hands on Shanda's and prayed for him.

Shanda's his condition has not changed, but his mother says that's all right for now I feel I got to hold on to that. Hope you know no matter what Anyone says you know as if he's not gonna get better.

I God does care about our pain and our sorrow. Several weeks after the Atlanta crusade Benny hen was reflective about his role as a spiritual healer. If Benny hen Can give people only one thing I'm satisfied.

And that's hope we already saw earlier a woman who believed Benny hen healed her of her deafness. When clearly that did not actually happen. Here's another example of him acting as if he is healing someone when he clearly has not done.

So ten-year-old Ashneel is their youngest son. Two massive brain tumors have reduced him to a vegetative state.

We believe in God we have faith. And there's nothing impossible for God.

Later in the documentary Ashneel's parents actually attend the crusade and they're brought on stage to have their child healed by him himself. Hin gets the crowd to raise their hands and then he places his hands on Ashneel's face and says expect the miracle dear Jesus The Lord's gonna touch you young boy.

Days after the event and Ashneel still wasn't healed.

You might think that Experiencing a failed faith healing would lead these parents to reconsider the legitimacy of these supposed faith healers. However, this brings us to the second major problem of faith healings which is that it seems that more often than not the victims of these faith healers are deceived into believing that they simply need to Have more faith and to give even more to the ministries of these disgusting con artists.

This is exactly what the parents of Ashneel did. I was not even discouraged.

I I know it's God's plan, you know, I can stake my life on pastor many in sports and God spoke to me last night at the At the Coliseum Center where the crusade was going on and he said Donate him another two thousand dollars and which I'm going to do it.

And now you're causing people simply to live in question as if God loves them less because their child has Down syndrome. That's right. It's probably one of the more low points of these false claims is to put that on people.

Constantly, I cannot tell you how many people I've talked to many of them at at Benny Hinn crusades how many emails I've received how many people I've talked to in person out preaching who have been through this and They have been made to believe that the reason they're sick or the reason their child is sick.

Yeah. Or handicapped or whatever is because they don't have enough faith. Yeah, they lack faith. They've got there's something wrong with them. And what's especially heartbreaking is when you see parents with with very very small children, and I've talked to many of these parents at Benny Hinn crusades.

Have very very small children young young children who are not even old enough to even know anything about God. I mean, we're talking infants toddlers. And so it can't be the toddlers fault. I mean, he doesn't even know his right hand from his left as the Bible says but so The responsibility falls to the parent and the parent thinks.

My child is sick because I don't have enough faith for him my faith For him is not strong enough. My child is sick because of me. My lack of faith my sin my lack of giving. And and that is just that is some of the more egregious Harms and hurts and Damages that you see from from a physical standpoint.

That you see that the prosperity gospel.

Faith Healing as a Scam and the False Hope of Prosperity

Reeks upon people. The third major problem with the concept of faith healing is that it is quite literally a Scam that can be reproduced if you simply know the formula that these faith healers are following.

The supposed healings that these faith healers are conducting simply look nothing like the healings performed by Jesus and the.

Apostles in the New Testament, they're saying well here I am. I'm doing this.

Yeah, well, they're not because what they're claiming is the gift of healing bears. Absolutely no resemblance To what we see in the New Testament. Whether it's your uncle whether it's Todd white or somebody like this. They go up to people.

It's either at a crusade in the case of your uncle or with Todd white walking up to people randomly on the streets and supposedly healing people. Well, all of these healings are psychosomatic mind over body.

There is a documentary entitled miracles for sale and as fast. I don't know if you saw it. I've seen it. Did you see it. I did and they trained this guy who's not a Christian doesn't claim to be a Christian.

Spent what was about six weeks with this guy training him in the evangelical faith healing lingo and how to do Hypnosis how to do hypnosis, right? And so after some training They followed him on the streets of Dallas, Texas, and he went up to people completely at random remember that he healed.

He does the yeah does the leg lengthening exact just like Todd white does, you know. He was one or lengthens one leg about makes it grow about that much or supposedly. And he had the exact same results the exact same results that Todd white does.

And this man was not a believer not a believer in training To do this right and was was knowingly and actively faking it.

That's right. The fourth and probably worst major problem of these supposed Christian faith healers is That they have replaced the gospel of sin and salvation with the false hope of health and wealth in this life.

Earlier we saw that sad clip of the nine-year-old girl telling Todd Bentley that she wants to get baptized. Because she wants her eye to be healed. She said nothing about recognizing her sin before a holy God or coming to Jesus for the forgiveness of her sins and Todd did absolutely nothing to remind her that the reason we come to Jesus is not physical healing but rather because we realize our sin and Independence upon Christ to be saved from God's wrath and the punishment of hell we deserve.

We've got to have a proper view of the holiness of God and the depravity of man. And My pastor Jim Osman said this to me one time and it really stuck with me. And I know this to be true. We underestimate how sinful we really are.

If God were to strike from me everything that I have if he were to take away My wife Kathy if he were to take away my health everything that I own and leave me Cold in a ditch to die alone a slow and painful death somewhere and then Send me to hell He would have done me no wrong.

You deserve that that's what I deserve. He would have done me no wrong. He would have done you no wrong in doing that. And so anything short of hell for us. That is that is the mercy and the grace of God.

So God doesn't owe us Anything. We have this we have this mindset that God somehow owes us because of preachers like Joel Osteen we're supposed to have our best life now. God doesn't owe us anything. We owe him everything.

And so even even in sickness and disease and trials and Persecution there is there is an inherent mercy even in that. And and there is there is a privilege even in that to to just be able to Have the assurance through the merits of Christ on the cross to be clear.

Miracles Today, the New Birth, and Closing Appeal

We are not at all saying that God no longer performs miracles or heals today. We believe God still heals people today and we praise God whenever he displays his majesty in such a way. What we are saying However, is that the healing that occurs today looks nothing like what these scam faith healers are presenting.

No, God does do miracles. Miracles go on all the time. Miracles of healing. I even believe that God could give to a missionary somewhere the ability to speak a language. He didn't know that's a miracle.

I don't think that's the biblical gift of tongues. That was an apostolic gift. But I think God can do miracles with people's mouths as much as he can do with any other part of their body. God still does miracles.

We see him do them all the time. The greatest miracle. It does a miracle the new birth. I mean, I'm a miracle. You have to be powerful to change me. And like the little boy said it's not even finished yet.

You know our Lord when he was on earth did many miracles and he always did them to attest to his truth. But God today May do some miracles. So that you can give your testimony and someone could say well a God that can do that must be real.

That may be true, but no longer to substantiate written revelation, which is a closed system. So I'm not saying that miracles have ceased. I'm only saying that miracles.
