Welcome to another installment of Fighting for the Faith. My name is Chris Roseborough, I am your servant in Jesus Christ, and this is the channel that compares what people are saying in the name of God to the
00:27
Word of God. Now, have you heard the buzz? A lot of people are talking about it in social media, on different groups on Facebook, around the internet, and the question is, has
00:36
Todd White repented? And if so, what exactly has he repented of? We'll take a look at that today.
00:42
So if you've heard about this, even if you haven't, go ahead and hit the like button, don't forget to subscribe down below, and ring the bell so you can be notified when we update the channel.
00:52
So here's what we're gonna do. We're going to look at some of the things that Todd White has recently said.
00:59
We'll look at them charitably, and here's the idea. I can't see into the heart of anybody.
01:04
I can tell you what their confession is, I can tell you what their actions show.
01:11
And so as a result of that, when it comes to Todd White's repentance, after listening to it several times,
01:18
I can honestly say I am cautiously hopeful. Cautiously hopeful.
01:24
And we're gonna take a look at two examples of repentance in the Old Testament, one by King Saul, the other by King David, and we'll note then that, you know, how does the
01:36
Bible really describe repentance? What does it comprise? And then we'll take a look and see, you know, what we can learn or glean from Todd White's admissions, and then kind of give us a comparison point, if you would.
01:54
And the comparison point is going to be along the lines of this. Is Todd White's repentance the
02:00
Costi -Hinn kind of repentance, or is Todd White's repentance the
02:06
Benny -Hinn type of repentance? And I think it's too early to tell, but these will be our way of understanding this.
02:15
And then I would make a word of caution, and that is that some people have this really bad habit of making things like this, the litmus test, as to whether or not you're a
02:24
Christian. And so I'm going to recognize that there are going to be brothers and sisters on different sides of the question.
02:33
And the reality is, I'm not going to answer the question, I don't know. But I will give you a biblical litmus test where, moving forward, we can see whether or not this is true repentance.
02:45
And there were some things along the way that show that Todd White has a long way to go if this is true biblical repentance, and I'll explain that as we get rolling.
02:53
So let me pull up the desktop, and let me get my browser up, and we're going to be listening to part of a message that was posted on July 27th of 2020 on Todd White's Lifestyle Christianity YouTube channel, and it's called
03:10
God's Heart for Humanity. We'll listen to a few segments of it, and I'll try not to interrupt that much, but I'll point out things that I think are worth noting along the way as we kind of pick through different parts of this.
03:24
I've been asking Jesus to take me deeper into the gospel, just to show me his heart for humanity.
03:33
Okay, so already, I will note, he's still wanting direct revelations from God, and as you listen to this carefully, you'll note that there are several times in this message where Todd White is claiming direct verbal communication from God.
03:55
That's going to be a problem moving forward. I don't believe,
04:05
I don't believe that the job for reaching the lost is just up to the evangelists.
04:11
I don't believe it. I've never believed it. I believe that it's up to us, the
04:18
Church, to reach the lost. One of the hardest things for me in witnessing and sharing my heart with people is that when a person doesn't see their need for Jesus, I don't know if that bothers anybody else.
04:35
It bothers me to the point of tears. I'm like, Lord, how can I reach them?
04:40
How can I reach them? How can I reach them with the gospel? How can I? How can
04:45
I? And words of knowledge and prophetic and all that, it's amazing and miraculous. I love it. Okay, so you'll note, he's still an
04:55
NAR charismatic in his beliefs regarding miracles, signs, and wonders, which basically has to beg the question immediately at this point, if his repentance is true, then what we need to expect to see from Todd White is a confession that the leg -pulling trick that he's been engaging in for years now is not a miracle, but it's a manipulation by him.
05:24
It's not a miracle. So moving forward, you got to keep this in mind. This is a man who has practiced parlor tricks and pawned them off on how many countless numbers of people as him operating in signs and wonders.
05:43
So if he's truly repented, what we would expect to see is a confession that what he did was not miracles, that they were parlor tricks, and him apologizing and bearing fruit in keeping with repentance.
05:57
But see, already in this thing, I'm not trying to be overly critical. Already we can see that if this is true repentance on his part, there's a lot, a lot of stuff that's got to be worked out here.
06:14
But there's really no way for a person to realize their need for grace if they don't realize that they've offended
06:23
God. Now what he's saying here is true. This is the basics of Christianity.
06:29
Proper distinction between law and gospel. Purpose of the law is to convict us of our sin. The gospel tells us that Christ has bled and died for our sins, and that salvation is a gift given by grace through faith.
06:42
We don't even talk about that a lot. A lot of times altar calls, and I've been in them.
06:50
I've been there. Or if you'd like to have a relationship with Jesus, and you'd like to have joy, love, peace, then
07:02
I need you to slip up your hand. I get it. I've been there. But what happens when you come in to the gospel and you're told that Jesus is going to give you love, joy, peace, your life is going to be filled with amazing happiness and abundance?
07:21
Yeah, that's not the gospel. Those are not the promises of Scripture for Christians. What you get is trials, tribulation, persecution.
07:29
Yeah, trials, tribulation, persecution are the things that Christ promised Christians. I am so convicted,
07:40
I can't even tell you. I'm trembling inside. It's hard for me to speak. I love
07:48
God with everything in me, but the American Church has lost the reality of what repentance looks like.
07:57
And I agree with him. And you'll note that if he truly believes what he's preaching here, and I don't have any reason to believe that he doesn't, that this is going to impact a major part of his previous shtick, and that part of his previous shtick was that he's experienced supernatural sanctification, and that he doesn't sin, he glows in the dark.
08:25
We've chronicled this on previous installments of Fighting for the Faith. So I'm hopeful here that what he's saying is is that he is a sinner, and that all of his claims to having supernatural sanctification, he now repudiates them as being false.
08:44
And I'm broken, because I don't ever want to be or even think that way in any way, shape, or form, because all of us are gonna stand before the judgment seat.
08:58
I'm overwhelmed, because I want you to stand before Jesus and have no condemnation.
09:07
Right, and that only comes through the forgiveness of sins. That comes through the gospel, not by our sanctification.
09:13
That's the goal. Wow, I almost forgot.
09:20
I want to welcome 277 online preview LCU students.
09:26
All right, now I'm gonna fast forward to another part of this message, and I'm not trying to take anything out of context.
09:35
That's not it. I just want to show highlights along the way. Obviously, this does not comprise the entirety of his message, and I'll note that he gives credit for some of the things that he's saying to Ray Comfort.
09:48
And Ray Comfort is a fellow who's made his ministry career out of the proper distinction between God's law and the gospel, and so clearly this is having some kind of an impact on him, and he credits
10:02
Ray Comfort for some of the things that you're gonna be hearing. So let's continue. My heart is to cause conviction.
10:10
That's the gospel. The gospel brings conviction. No, the gospel is that Christ died for our sins.
10:17
But righteousness is the answer, because I want to be convicted of sin, leave my sin, leave that, and enter into being convicted of righteousness.
10:29
Okay, now I've mentioned it already, and it's worth noting here.
10:34
If we go to the archives of Fighting for the Faith, we've addressed several things regarding false teaching and practice on the part of Todd White.
10:45
We've noted that he's a false Christ, and that's correct. In the past, he has put himself forward as a super special anointed, glow -in -the -dark kind of Christian.
10:55
He's doubled down on his leg lengthening false miracle, rather than repent of it.
11:03
And then we also caught him doing a Peter Popoff, where he would claim words of knowledge coming from God regarding healing and things like this.
11:13
There are other things that we could talk about as it relates to Todd White, but taken at face value, what he's saying here is that it's important to be convicted of sin and righteousness, which is true.
11:28
This is what the Holy Spirit convicts us of, you know, regarding sin and righteousness. That's what
11:34
Jesus said. And that being the case, he's clearly said that you've got to acknowledge your sin and you need to walk away from it.
11:43
So my question for Todd is, is he going to acknowledge his false miracles, his false anointing, and the false teaching that he's taught in the past, and is he going to confess it and bear fruit in keeping with repentance?
12:01
Now, it's at this point that I think a distinction would be helpful, and then we'll give a biblical one in just a little bit.
12:10
Y 'all familiar with Kosti Hinn? Yeah, I interviewed him here on the Fighting for the Faith channel a while back, a couple years ago now.
12:19
And Kosti Hinn is a direct relative, traveled the world with Benny Hinn, fully bought into the whole health and wealth and prosperity message in gospel and all this kind of stuff, lived the life, you know, flew in the private jet, drove really expensive vehicles, cars, and stayed at five diamond luxury hotels and resorts around the globe, and he is full -on repented.
12:48
And his repentance is borne out in him confessing that what he preached in the past was not biblical, was not true.
12:58
He, for a season, was under a biblical pastor, he's since studied for the ministry, is now a pastor himself, and so he's a man who has accountability.
13:09
And so you look at Kosti Hinn, and this is an example of biblical repentance, and we'll talk more about that again in a minute.
13:18
And then you can point to Benny Hinn, who claims that he repented, but sadly, as the scriptures describe, you know, like a dog returns to its vomit,
13:30
Benny Hinn has slunk back to his old ways. And here's a video, a portion of a video put out by my good friend
13:37
Stephen Kozar from the Messed Up Church, and this was put out on July 24th, 2020, and in it, you'll know, it says,
13:46
Benny Hinn, 100 % proof that he's a fraud, and I'm gonna let Stephen Kozar explain this.
13:52
I'm not gonna play the whole video, but enough of it so that you can see that Benny Hinn's repentance from September of 2019 has turned out to be false.
14:05
He's gone back to his own old ways, and so let's let Stephen Kozar explain.
14:11
In September of 2019, Benny Hinn made a big splash with a video where he claimed that he had changed his mind about his theology.
14:21
And I'm correcting my own theology. About the prosperity gospel, and about sowing seeds for prosperity.
14:29
It's an offense to say, give $1 ,000. And asking people to... Yeah, note that line.
14:35
It's an offense to say, you know, give $1 ,000. That's gonna be an important one, and Kozar's gonna put this more in context here in a minute.
14:43
Give a $1 ,000 seed offering or anything like that. And I'm gonna show you, he hasn't changed at all, and I'm gonna use his videos from his own
14:51
Facebook page and his own YouTube channel. He's a fraud. I'm gonna have you come down here. All right, so note, this is a video that is posted on Benny Hinn's Facebook, dated
15:03
July 18th, 2020. And that's a significant amount of time since September 2nd of 2019.
15:12
And the name of the video on the Facebook is titled, A Special Message from Pastor Benny.
15:19
And sow $1 ,000 in the Lord's work. It's a feel... Yeah, so, you know, and yeah, just recently,
15:29
Benny Hinn has asked people to sow $1 ,000. But remember back on September 2nd, listen again.
15:37
And sow $1 ,000 in the Lord's work. It's a feel -good message.
15:43
That's what you hear out there. It's all about feel good, do good, all that.
15:51
Make money, all the rest of it. And I'm sorry to say that prosperity has gone a little crazy, and I'm correcting my own theology.
16:07
Yeah, he's correcting it. Didn't turn out that way, because he, like a dog returns to his vomit, he's gone back to the $1 ,000 seed offering thing.
16:18
And you need to all know it. Because when I read the Bible now,
16:23
I don't see the Bible in the same eyes I saw the Bible 20 years ago. And Steve Strang from Charisma, whom we go back years, he actually, he was in my wedding.
16:36
People don't even know that Charisma Magazine began with my father -in -law. Charisma Magazine started with Roy Hardin, and I married his daughter.
16:47
So Steve Strang was in my wedding. We go way back, and he's already asked me, said, are you ready to make it public?
16:57
I said, well, not totally. Because I don't want to hurt my friends or my love, who believe things
17:03
I don't believe anymore. So he doesn't believe him anymore. He didn't want to hurt people, so he wasn't ready to go public.
17:12
Yeah, okay. And I will tell you now something that is gonna shock you. I think it's an offense to the
17:18
Lord. It's an offense to say, give $1 ,000. It's an offense.
17:24
It's what he just said. It's an offense to the Lord to give $1 ,000. But the problem is, he's still asking for $1 ,000.
17:33
Right now, right? June 20th, 2020. This is the BennyHinn .org program.
17:41
I don't know who this fellow is, but he's standing in for Pastor Benny there.
17:48
And listen to what this guy says. Now, so a $1 ,000 sacrifice, not a seed. There was a difference between a seed and a sacrifice.
17:56
And when I sowed that sacrificial seed, it was $1 ,000. That's why I always talk about it.
18:02
It's an offense to say, give $1 ,000. All right, so the question on the table, then, you know, is
18:11
Todd White's repentance a Kosti Hinn repentance, or is it a
18:19
Benny Hinn repentance? You see the difference here. I don't think for a second that Benny Hinn repented at all.
18:28
In fact, his present offering of recent messages on his social media and YouTube show that he hasn't repented at all.
18:39
He's gone back to his old shenanigans and still asking for $1 ,000 seed offerings.
18:45
So keep that in mind. So as we consider, then, Todd White here, I think it's too early to tell.
18:54
It's whether or not he's really repented. We need to be cautiously, and I would even argue prayerfully hopeful.
19:03
It's obvious that he's being influenced in a way that's convicting him of his sin.
19:08
He even claims that he's been reading Spurgeon. And so all of that being said, we need to pray that the
19:15
Holy Spirit continues to convict him of his sin, and he has a
19:20
Benny Hinn, not Benny, a Kosti Hinn type of repentance, where he repudiates altogether the false teaching, false doctrine, and false practices, false miracles, false signs, and false wonders that he's made a career out of.
19:34
If he's really repented, those are the other shoes that we should expect to see dropping in the next few days and weeks.
19:42
That's the goal of the Gospel. The goal is to see my sin for what it is, not excuse it, not wash it away, but see it for what it is, horrible and detestable.
19:53
Correct. Including all your false signs and wonders and false doctrine that you previously taught. So much that when
19:59
I give my life to Jesus, it's equally horrible and detestable for me. What is the sign of repentance?
20:06
That you hate sin. Right. Including false signs, false wonders, and false miracles, and false doctrine.
20:14
Mm -hmm. Yeah, exactly. What is the sign of repentance? That you hate sin. Your own, in particular.
20:23
Are you with me or not? Sometimes we're like, well, come on, just get to the... No, no, no, that's it.
20:28
Like, is there a part in you that loves sin still? Mm -hmm. Is there a part in you that still loves your parlor tricks, your false signs, your false wonders, your false miracles, your false doctrine, your false theology on sanctification?
20:43
That's my question for Todd. Do you not see how this then applies to everything you've built your ministry on?
20:50
Something's wrong. Okay. Oh my.
20:58
Help me, Jesus. I read this, and I want to read this to you, because this hit me.
21:04
Did you ever hear of Ray Comfort? Mm -hmm. Amazing. Just amazing. Like, I was...
21:09
And this is the part that makes me hopeful, by the way. If he's reading Comfort, there's a real possibility the
21:16
God the Holy Spirit is really working in Todd White, and we need to be praying that God would complete the repentance that he's begun in Todd, if this is really, truly repentance.
21:31
Blown away. Now, I didn't read a whole bunch of stuff, but this right here blew me away.
21:36
It's just a scenario that rocked me to the core. Now, I'll let you listen to it on your own.
21:43
Now, real quick, before we get to the next part, I want to do a little bit of biblical work here. So you can talk about Costi -Hinn versus Benny -Hinn type of repentance, you can also talk about the difference between King Saul type of repentance and King David type of repentance.
22:00
And if you were to define what is repentance biblically, you can kind of say that it kind of falls into two things that are concurrently true at the same time.
22:10
True repentance will have, as part of it, sorrow and contrition over sin that you've committed, and at the same time, confidence in the mercy of God and the forgiveness of sins.
22:27
And so when confronted with your sin, deflecting and blaming other people for your sin is not indicative of repentance.
22:39
That's more along the lines of the repentance that we see from Saul, which is not repentance at all.
22:45
So we'll take a look at two biblical stories real quick. First Samuel chapter 15. We learn that God is going to send
22:52
King Saul on a mission, and we'll see whether or not Saul follows through on that mission, and then we'll compare this with King David.
23:00
So Samuel said to Saul, Yahweh sent me to anoint you, king over his people Israel. Now therefore listen to the words of Yahweh.
23:07
Thus says Yahweh Sabaoth, the Lord of armies, the Lord of hosts. I have noted what
23:12
Amalek did to Israel in opposing them on the way when they came up from Egypt. Now go and strike strike
23:18
Amalek, and devote to destruction all that they have. Do not spare them, but kill both man and woman, child and infant, ox and sheep, camel and donkey.
23:28
So God has devoted the Amalekites to complete destruction in the same way that He devoted Jericho to complete destruction.
23:36
That was a pretty straightforward, simple command. Destroy everything, alright?
23:42
What do I leave alive? Nothing. Who do I leave alive? Nobody. It's all -inclusive.
23:49
God wants King Saul and the armies of Israel to be the instruments of his judgment against the
23:56
Amalekites. So Saul summoned the people, numbered them in Telaim, 200 ,000 men on foot, 10 ,000 men of Judah.
24:05
Saul came to the city of Amalek, lay in wait in the valley. Then Saul said to the Kenites, go, depart, go down from among the
24:11
Amalekites, lest I destroy you with them. For you showed kindness to all the people of Israel when they came out of Egypt.
24:19
So the Kenites departed from among the Amalekites, and Saul defeated the Amalekites from Havilah as far as Shur, which is east of Egypt.
24:28
Then he took Agag, the king of the Amalekites, alive. Yikes. Whoops.
24:34
Yeah, he was supposed to kill him. And devoted to destruction all the people with the edge of the sword. But Saul and the people spared
24:42
Agag, and the best of the sheep, and of the oxen, and of the fatted calves, and the lambs, and all that was good, and would not utterly destroy them, all that was despised and worthless, they devoted to destruction.
24:58
Well, they didn't obey. Saul did not obey. So Yahweh, the word of Yahweh, came to Samuel. I regret that I have made
25:05
Saul king, for he has turned back from following me, and has not performed my commandments.
25:13
And Samuel was angry, and he cried out to Yahweh all night. And Samuel rose early to meet
25:19
Saul in the morning, and it was told to Samuel, Saul came up to Carmel, and behold, he set up a monument for himself.
25:26
Of course he did. And set up a monument for himself, and turned and passed on, and went down to Gilgal.
25:34
And so Samuel came to Saul, and Saul said to him, Blessed be you to Yahweh.
25:40
I have performed the commandment of Yahweh. It's a pretty simple command.
25:47
Kill everything. So Samuel said, then, what is this bleeding of sheep in my ears, and the lowing of oxen that I hear?
25:54
And you'll note, confronted with his sin, there's no way around it.
26:00
Yeah, you were told to kill everything and everybody, and I hear sheep and stuff that have survived your attack.
26:08
So rather than confess his sin and say, you're right, I'm sorry, I've sinned.
26:14
Saul said, well, they, they, they have brought them from the Amalekites.
26:19
The people, they are the ones who spared the best of the sheep, and of the oxen, to sacrifice to Yahweh, your
26:28
God, and the rest we've devoted to destruction. Yeah, they, they, they, they, they are the ones.
26:34
They are the ones who spared everything, because, because, oh yeah, they wanted to make sacrifices to Yahweh.
26:41
Yeah, yeah, that's a ticket. Yeah, yeah, that, that's a ticket. They wanted to make sacrifices to Yahweh. So Samuel said to him, stop.
26:47
I'll tell you what Yahweh has said to me this night, and he said to him, speak. Samuel said, though you are little in your own eyes, and I have to wonder if this was spoken tongue -in -cheek, because he just set up a monument to himself, are you not the head of the tribes of Israel?
27:01
Yahweh anointed you the king over Israel, and Yahweh sent you on a mission and said, go devote to destruction the sinners, the
27:09
Amalekites. Fight against them until they are consumed. Why then did you not obey the voice of Yahweh?
27:16
Caught dead to rights, he has not obeyed the voice of Yahweh. And he says, why did you pounce on the spoiler and do what was evil in the sight of Yahweh?
27:26
Watch what Saul does. I have obeyed the voice of Yahweh.
27:31
I have gone on the mission which Yahweh sent me. I have brought Agag, the king of Amalek, and have devoted the
27:39
Amalekites to destruction. So note here, by admitting that he brought Agag, he's admitted that he's not obeyed
27:47
God, but it's not registering here. So the people, though, the people, they took of the spoils, sheep and the ox, and the best of the things, devoted to destruction to sacrifice.
27:57
To Yahweh, your God at Gilgal. And Samuel said, has Yahweh as great a delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obeying the voice of Yahweh?
28:07
Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, to listen than the fat of rams, for rebellion is as the sin of divination, presumption is as iniquity and idolatry.
28:18
Because you have rejected the word of Yahweh, he has also rejected you from being king.
28:24
Any repentance on the part of Saul here? Not really. Now watch where he goes now.
28:32
This is not real repentance, and this is not a true confession of sin. So Saul said to Samuel, I have sinned,
28:39
I've sinned, I have transgressed the commandment of Yahweh and your words because I feared the people and I obeyed their voice.
28:47
It's their fault. It's their fault. They made me do it. Now therefore, please pardon my sin and return with me that I may bow before Yahweh.
28:57
But has he actually confessed his sin? No. Has he repented? No. He hasn't even truly acknowledged that he's transgressed
29:05
God's law. I sinned because they made me do it. That's not repentance.
29:11
So Samuel said to Saul, I will not return with you for you have rejected the word of Yahweh, and Yahweh has rejected you from being king over Israel.
29:20
So there's an example, number one, of false repentance, and Saul did not properly repent.
29:28
Now the second story, we're all very familiar with it, the story of David and Bathsheba.
29:34
Now I'm not gonna read out 2nd Samuel 11. We all know the details, you know, that David, you know, basically stays back in Jerusalem and there's a woman bathing in eyeshot, you know, with an eyesight of his balcony there at the palace, and he calls for the woman and he takes advantage of her, gets her pregnant, ends up murdering her husband.
29:59
It's a terrible story. It really is a terrible story. But consider the difference between what
30:04
David does when confronted with his sin and what Saul did. And so in 2nd
30:10
Samuel chapter 12, we get what happens when Nathan, the prophet, is sent by Yahweh to confront
30:19
David with his sin. So Yahweh sent Nathan to David, he came to him, said to him, there were two men in a certain city, one rich, the other poor.
30:27
The rich man had very many flocks and herds, but the poor man had nothing but one little ewe lamb, which he had bought.
30:34
And he brought it up and it grew up with him and with his children. It used to eat of his morsels and drink from his cup and lie in his arms, and it was like a daughter to him.
30:44
Now there came a traveler to the rich man, and he was unwilling to take one of his own flock or herd to prepare for the guest who had come to him, but he took the poor man's lamb and prepared it for the man who had come to him.
30:56
David's anger was greatly kindled against the man, and he said to Nathan, as Yahweh lives, the man who has done this deserves to die, and he shall restore the lamb fourfold, because he has done this thing and he had no pity.
31:09
Nathan said to David, you are the man. Thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel, I anointed you king over Israel, I delivered you out of the hand of Saul, I gave you your master's house, your master's wives into your arms, and gave you the house of Israel and of Judah.
31:25
And if this were too little, I would have add to you as much more. Why have you despised the word of Yahweh to do what is evil in his sight?
31:33
You have struck down Uriah the Hittite with the sword, have taken his wife to be your wife, have killed him with the sword of the
31:39
Ammonites, and now therefore the sword shall never depart from your house, because you have despised me and have taken the wife of Uriah the
31:46
Hittite to be your wife. Thus says Yahweh, behold, I will raise up evil against you out of your own house, and I will take your wives before your eyes and give them to your neighbor, and he shall lie with your wives in the sight of the
31:58
Son. For you did it secretly, but I'll do this thing before all Israel and before the Son. And what does
32:04
David do when confronted with a sin? Watch this response. David said to Nathan, I have sinned against Yahweh.
32:11
Full stop. Doesn't blame anybody else, doesn't say, yeah, but it was her fault, she was bathing in, you know, in a place where I could see her from my balcony.
32:24
None of that. He just says, I have sinned against Yahweh. Full stop. And watch what
32:30
Nathan said. Nathan said to David, the Lord has put away your sin, you shall not die. David confesses his sin, doesn't blame anybody else, doesn't shift blame, doesn't shave off any of it, it's true repentance, and he receives an absolution from the
32:46
Prophet Nathan, and hears that his sin is forgiven. And is it any wonder then that after Nathan leaves, that David sits down and pens for us
32:56
Psalm 51. Now when we talk about repentance, there are two things that go along with it that are concurrent.
33:02
True sorrow for sin, and confident trust in God for the forgiveness of sins.
33:08
And we can say as New Testament Christians, confident faith in Christ, that our sins are forgiven.
33:13
So there is a hatred and a despising of sin, there is a acknowledging of the evil that you've done, and at the same time, confidently believing in the mercy of God for the forgiveness of sins.
33:26
So here's what David writes in Psalm 51. Have mercy on me, O God. According to your steadfast love, according to your abundant mercy, blot out my transgression.
33:37
Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, cleanse me from my sin, for I know my transgression and my sin is ever before me.
33:43
Against you and you only have I sinned, and done what is evil in your sight, so that you may be justified in your words, and blameless in your judgment.
33:52
Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me. Behold, you delight in truth in the inward being.
33:58
You teach me wisdom in the secret heart. Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean.
34:04
Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Let me hear joy and gladness. Let the bones that you have broken rejoice.
34:12
Hide your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities. Create in me a clean heart,
34:18
O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your
34:24
Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit.
34:31
Then I will teach transgressors your ways, and sinners will return to you.
34:37
Deliver me from blood guiltiness, O God. O God of my salvation, and my tongue will sing aloud of your righteousness.
34:44
O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare your praise."
34:50
You get the idea. So really, you see the difference. So at this point, is
34:56
Todd White's repentance a David -like repentance, or is it a
35:03
Saul -like repentance? Is it a Costey Hinn -like repentance, or is it a
35:10
Benny Hinn -type repentance? And the reality is, I don't know. I honestly don't know.
35:17
And so we need to pray. We need to pray for Todd White. We need to pray that God the
35:24
Holy Spirit continues to work true contrition in him, and sorrow for his sin, and the sins and the deception that he's engaged in, and give him the confidence that God will forgive him, and then he needs to bear real fruit in keeping with true repentance, which would require him to acknowledge the signs and wonders that he put forward were false, and that they were parlor tricks, and let the chips fall where they may, but that's really what's required of him.
35:56
So keep all of that in mind. Now, all of that being said, I'm gonna fast -forward just one more section, and we'll listen to just a little bit more of this.
36:05
And again, I really encourage you to pray for Todd White. I am hoping for his sake and for the body of Christ that this is true repentance.
36:14
Again, I don't know. It's a little early to tell. The Bible says that all are under condemnation that don't believe in Jesus.
36:20
Correct. Are you with me? The Bible also says that everyone has the law written in their hearts.
36:26
It's already there. Correct. That's right. He's clearly got this from Ray Comfort, who got it from Scripture, by the way.
36:33
If I ask a good person if lying is wrong, they will tell me yes. If I ask a bad person if lying is wrong, they will tell me yes.
36:40
So lying, thieving, adultery is cheating on your wife, but adultery, Jesus says, is committing it with your eyes and your heart.
36:49
So that makes the best of people, lying, adulterous thieves. That's crazy, and that doesn't...
36:56
Yeah, that's all it is. Wait a minute, you're condemning. No, I'm not. You're already condemned. All people are condemned, it says, by the law.
37:05
It says in the Psalms, in Proverbs, it says the law converts the soul.
37:11
The soul is converted from the law. That doesn't mean that we preach it as legalists. That just means that if people don't know that they're sinners, they won't see their need for a
37:20
Savior. This is hard for people, huh? It's hard for me.
37:27
The reality, though, is that this is Christianity 101.
37:33
How long has this guy been in ministry? 16 years, and he's just now figuring this out.
37:42
That tells you part of his repentance is gonna be him sitting down and being on the bench for a while under faithful pastors who rightly handle
37:52
God's Word. It's hard for me because I feel like I haven't preached the whole gospel, and I repent.
38:02
And I pray this is a Costi -Hinn, King David kind of repentance.
38:08
I truly, truly pray that this is the case. I repent.
38:15
You have no idea. I will not be responsible. I believe that when
38:23
I preach that the blood of people is on my hands. I believe that when I walk by a person and don't share a witness,
38:29
I believe that their soul is at my, at my, in my, in my power. Not my power,
38:35
I can't save them, but it's my power with my words that I can say something that can. That's the gospel.
38:42
Faith comes by hearing, hearing by the Word of Christ, or as Paul says in Romans 1, I am not ashamed of the gospel.
38:48
It, the gospel, is the power of God into salvation for all who believe. I'm convicted. I'm convicted.
38:54
It says to he who knows to do good and doesn't, it is sin. So what's your definition of doing good?
39:02
I'm allowing my definition of doing good to extend the fact of me reaching more people with the truth.
39:11
I need you, and it's so important for me. I hope I'm not losing you.
39:17
If I do, I just hope you're convicted. I am so convicted. And again,
39:29
I can't see the man's heart. If this is truly repentance from God, then there are certain things that we need to expect to see that follow.
39:38
An acknowledgment that the parlatrix that he committed were parlatrix, not miracles. A repudiation of his false doctrine and teaching from before.
39:48
And him, you know, being under accountability and authority of men who are faithful pastors who rightly handle
39:57
God's Word. This is what you would expect to see if this is true repentance.
40:03
That's what Costey Hinn did, because his repentance was true and it was real.
40:10
And so again, can I say definitively whether or not this is true repentance or not?
40:15
Answer, no. Not at all. I'm hopeful, cautiously hopeful that it is, and my prayer for him is that it is.
40:25
So hopefully you found this helpful. If so, all the information on how you can share this video is down below in the description, and so until next time, may
40:34
God richly bless you in the grace and mercy won by Jesus Christ and his vicarious death on the cross for all of your sins.
