Why are Creation Apologetics Important - Video Testimony

So I'm here with Chiara.

Chiara, tell me about your story.

You were raised in a Christian home, and then what happened?

So I was raised in a Christian home, and then when I went to college, my faith kind of unraveled

because I was around these very intellectual and powerful professors that I looked up to who

quickly said, from every class, from history to science to social studies to even probably a math,

quickly discounted if you have any faith in Christianity and just took for

granted that that faith is just, it's not intellectual, you must be a fool if

you believe it.

And so atheism is what was taught there and what everybody believed.

And they would present scientific facts to prove atheism.

And I had no scientific facts to prove Christianity, so I began to believe what they said, which is just a

fairy tale.

And so my parents didn't have these huge PhDs or college degrees, so I said, OK, I must believe

these people over my parents.

And so I left the faith, and then I came back to the faith through my aunt giving me

an apologetics book.

And I was able to see, OK, you don't have to be totally dumb to believe Christianity.

There is actually more faith, more evidence of Christianity.

And so intellectually, I took a step towards faith, and then later the Holy Spirit was able to bring me back to the Lord.

So I think apologetics is super important, if not crucial, for kids growing

up and so that they can stay in the faith today.

So what an amazing journey you've had.

You started off believing, and then you became convinced that you could not be a smart person and also believe.

And then you came back, and now you're actually teaching your kids, right?

Yeah.

Because you realize that's important to the kids.

Yes, now I am aware of what it's like out there in the world and how much

they're going to face.

And so I want to arm them and get them all the tools they need so that that doesn't happen to them.
