Welcome back to On The Road. This is Andy Cain. It is October 29th, 2024.
00:21
It's a joy to be with you. I want to thank all of the recent subscribers. We've, I mean,
00:27
I honestly didn't think I'd get past five. Here we are. I think by last count, we were over 60 and I just,
00:34
I am amazed. I've flabbergasted, I would say speechless, but I'm currently talking to you on a podcast episode.
00:43
So I would say speechless is not exactly something I do well. But yes, it's joy.
00:50
I appreciate every one of you. I've made the move permanently back to Substack. I enjoy building on WordPress and I enjoy having my own site.
01:00
And there's a certain, many things that, you know, the pros and cons to everything.
01:06
I've built on just about every platform you can think of. And I decided that I just wanted the engagement.
01:12
I enjoy other places, but there's something about the engagement you can get on Substack with people and interacting with them that you just, it's hard to beat.
01:22
And so I appreciate every one of you. I try my best to reply and interact with everything.
01:30
Unless you come at me and do some weird stuff. I mean, look, my block game is very strong.
01:37
And you know, it's amazing when the healthier you get, the stronger you get mentally, the less tolerance you have for nonsense.
01:45
And so, you know, I've had a few people that have asked genuine questions that were founded in disagreement.
01:55
And, you know, I've had a few people say, well, you know, I disagree or I don't think this or that. And then, you know, I don't have any problem with that.
02:01
A good challenge is healthy for your worldview and healthy for your growth. But when somebody just comes from a place of emotional ignorance or emotional immaturity, or they clearly don't really wanna interact or engage with what you've actually said, they just wanna, you know, say their piece and move on.
02:21
I just, you know, other people might can handle it. I just don't have time for it.
02:27
I wanna engage with thoughtful, rational, reasonable people that are not going to lash out and attack something just because, oh, that doesn't sound like what
02:38
I wanna hear. Because when you deal with that type of thinking, basically what it comes down to is they want to hear what they think coming out of your mouth.
02:51
And until they do, they're not gonna stop. So you basically engage in futility by engaging in all.
02:58
So it's just one of those things you pick up along the way. You kind of learn and get a sense of comments and responses and people.
03:08
And you can usually decipher who has genuine disagreement, who has a genuine concern, or who has a genuine question about something you're covering or talking about, and who's really just doing the typical social media gutters of Twitter, Facebook type stuff, where it's just, so you learn these things over time.
03:30
It's not about being mean. It's not about disregarding anyone. It's just, you know, we only have a certain amount of time and you've got to make certain choices.
03:40
But it's, the one I had the other day was, somebody was completely shocked that I would say anything even remotely political because, oh man, you're a pastor.
03:54
You're not supposed to say anything. I'm like, we've got to really dismantle this faulty assumption that somehow
04:02
Christians and up to and including pastors are somehow disqualified from saying what should be.
04:13
And, you know, so I wanted to explain to this person that I don't know why it's shocking that my application of my worldview and my eschatology would be surprising.
04:27
The post -millennial eschatology with the Christian worldview is that Christ is reigning and he will reign until he has defeated all his enemies.
04:36
And secular leftism, most prominently displayed in the Democrat Party in America, but also we have leftists that infiltrate the
04:45
GOP. So a person like me, I have issues with both national parties in America.
04:53
I think both of them need a lot of repentance, but it's, no matter what political party you're involved with, it's the secular humanistic leftism, the woke -ism, whatever you want to call it, that's the problem because that's the worldview that's anti -Christ.
05:12
That's the worldview that is seeking to destroy and to stop the church, which we all know they can't because Christ said the gates of hell cannot prevail, which means churches to be on offense.
05:26
Christ is building his kingdom. We are to call men everywhere to repent. We are to call on governments to repent and to obey
05:37
God's law and obey God's word. We can't legislate morality. Every single law that's passed is a legislation of someone's morality.
05:47
And so, yes, I believe that one day the earth will be covered with the spirit and knowledge of God, and that all nations will bow the knee to Christ.
05:56
Now, will that happen in my lifetime? Probably not. I'm not exactly looking for it.
06:02
I mean, in a sense, I think it's right around the corner. Unlike the rapture enthusiasts that every time you talk to them, we're only seconds away, but it's a gradual thing.
06:14
If you look at church history, the kingdom has been gradually growing. You'll see periods of fast growth.
06:20
You'll see some periods of setback and decline. Your enemies arise. I mean, you see this overall gradual growth.
06:28
And, you know, I believe that one day that the gospel, not only is it prevailing and winning now, but you will see it continue to do so.
06:40
And part of that is calling on governments and calling on people and nations to be discipled under Christ.
06:48
And so when you call out something like leftism, this evil woke -ism and all this nonsense, and you talk about how it must repent and submit to Christ, and then people are surprised that you would do that.
07:06
I'm like, well, that's consistent with my God -centered worldview. And a God -centered worldview, you know, you always hear, well,
07:14
I should not live. And I'm like, actually, it's a great act of love to warn somebody about their sin and their trouble.
07:22
Yes, there's some unloving ways to do it, but it's ultimately an act of love to do that, to demonstrate the fact that they need the gospel.
07:31
And so you always hear that, and it's just like, you know, consistency with your worldview, consistency with your eschatology, understanding what
07:42
God is doing. We're here not to be silent. We're here to call the world to repentance.
07:48
And so just some interesting things, but that's my message for you this morning. We need to be consistent with our
07:54
God -centered worldview, meaning that the application of it is one that we call the nations to repent.
08:02
We were here to disciple the nations. We're here to teach them God's law. We're here to call them to be obedient to God's law.
08:08
And when you see something that believes there's a hundred million genders, that you can just change gender, that they hate
08:16
Christ, they hate God, they hate God's word, when you see that, it's the duty of every
08:23
Christian to call that out and call them to repentance. So I'm always, it's amazing to me, and I'm still shocked by it, but I'm still shocked when
08:30
I see somebody like, how could you say that? I'm like, how could you not say it? And that's the point, my friends.
08:36
Well, thank you for joining me on this episode on the road. I hope you guys have a great day and go out there and be consistent with your
