This is a ministry of striving for eternity. This week, what I want to do is focus in on the idea of Thanksgiving.

In America, we are having a holiday this Thursday of Thanksgiving where we give thanks for the many blessings that we have.

One of the things that I ended up thinking about is the Ark of the Covenant. Now, you go, wait a minute.

What in the world does that have to do with Thanksgiving? I know, it seems like a stretch, but let's think about it.

When you think about the three things that were in the Ark of the Covenant, the rod of Aaron, a piece of manna, and then the stone tablets of the commandments, and you end up seeing that each one of them reflect a failure of the

Israelites in trusting and depending upon God. You have the rod of Aaron where they didn't just follow after Moses.

They really had to wait until the Egyptians kicked them out of Egypt before they'd go.

And they went and they get the Ten Commandments. They end up creating a god of their own, a golden calf that they want to worship.

And they fail to worship the god that actually took them out of Egypt. Then you have the manna.

Here is an amazing thing. Here's God providing for them food dropping from heaven, and why they complain about it.

It's not good enough. They want quail. And what you end up seeing is God ends up showing them, even as they fail, that he will provide for them.
