Justin Peters discusses a curious claim by Kenneth Copeland, a prominent figure in the charismatic movement, who asserted that he healed his private jet of corrosion through prayer. Peters critiques Copeland’s casual manner of claiming direct communication with God and highlights the lack of integrity among charismatic leaders who frequently attribute their words to God without evidence. He emphasizes that such behavior is misleading and exploitative of vulnerable individuals. Peters concludes by noting that God’s grace guides the faithful from such false teachings despite the d

Kenneth Copeland doesn't have real good results when he lays hands on people in wheelchairs. Glory to God, you're not bound to this chair.
00:09
And the day will come, you'll walk out of it. In the name of Jesus, thank you, thank you.
00:17
But maybe you'll have better luck when he lays his hands on his private jet.
00:24
I kid you not. Welcome to the program, ladies and gentlemen.
00:33
My name is Justin Peters. I hope that this finds you and your family doing well today. I wanna thank you so much for joining me.
00:40
I do apologize for my rather spartan environs here. As you can tell,
00:45
I'm not in my normal office. I'm on the road preaching in Nevada. So I'm just in my hotel room with my little laptop.
00:52
I don't even have my portable microphone, just the built -in. So I do apologize for the rather low quality of the production here, but I don't think most of you come to my channel for production quality.
01:04
I'm not trying to make Marvel movies or anything like that. So this is a video,
01:09
I kid you not, you heard me right. Kenneth Copeland claims that he one time laid hands on his airplane, on his jet to heal it of corrosion.
01:22
You can't make this stuff up. I've had this video in my files for several years, actually four or so years.
01:29
And I just stumbled across it the other day looking for a different video. And I thought, you know what, this would probably be a pretty good installment for my
01:37
Why Are Charismatics So Weird series. So without any further delay, take it away,
01:44
Mr. Copeland. And they did X -rays of the fuselage and everything, looking for corrosion.
01:54
And there was some, it wasn't all that bad, but the
02:00
X -rays showed that there was some spots of corrosion and so I was praying over it and just as plain, the
02:17
Lord said to me, lay hands on it, I'll heal it. What?
02:29
I never heard him. What? Well, he said, Kenneth, he said, corrosion comes from the curse.
02:41
He said, I provided that airplane for you, didn't I? I said, yes. So I wanna interrupt here real quickly.
02:47
You notice the casual nature with which Kenneth Copeland talks to God. Very casual relationship the two of them have.
02:54
And God speaks to Kenneth Copeland with such amazing precision and crystal clear clarity.
03:02
Kenneth Copeland just hears God talk to him all the time with the frequency that you would hear your spouse talk to you in just a very casual, kind of chummy relationship the two of them have.
03:14
And yet oddly, Kenneth Copeland also said that God told him that Donald Trump would win a second consecutive term in the
03:21
White House. And well, we all know how that turned out, but I'm sure on all other occasions, right,
03:27
Kenneth Copeland hears God very clearly and correctly. What a farce.
03:34
One of the problems with the charismatic movement is that they, the vast majority, in fairness, not all, but the vast, vast majority of at least the leaders in the charismatic movement have no compunction at all, no problem at all with putting words in God's mouth that he did not say.
03:55
It does not bother them in the slightest, not with the slightest prick of conscience.
04:00
They do this all the time. And when Kenneth Copeland quotes God as saying, well, I provided that jet for you, didn't
04:08
I? Well, no, Mr. Copeland, actually God did not provide that jet for you. You see, you got that jet from exploiting the poor, the sick, the desperate, and the widows for your own personal financial gain.
04:22
Telling poor people, God will get them out of debt, give them money if they just give to you their money.
04:29
Telling sick people, God will heal them of cancer or heal their sick child of whatever their child has, will bring healing if they just give you some money.
04:40
That, Mr. Copeland, is how you can afford all those airplanes, zuh. We're the one with the airplane, zuh, yeah, yeah.
04:51
Airplane, zuh, zuh. But I digress. He said, lay hands on it.
04:59
Okay. And I started praying in the spirit, and the more
05:05
I prayed in the spirit, the happier I got. I just went, oh man, you talk about laying hands on that thing,
05:11
I laid hands on it all over, and it's a big old airplane, it took a while to do it. Yeah, I bet, that's a big old private jet.
05:18
Gotta exploit a lot of poor and sick people to get that rascal. Laid hands on that thing, just laid hands on it all over, and praised
05:28
God, laid hands on that, and commanded that corrosion to leave in Jesus' name.
05:37
They did more x -raying, came back, there was just one little old spot there.
05:47
I said, Lord, what, no, he said, I wanted to remind you. I said, what are you reminding me of?
06:01
He said, they could've said maybe the x -rays were wrong.
06:15
Are you listening? So he laid hands on it again, and it's gone. And if you believe that, yeah, we're talking oceanfront property in Arizona, I wanna sell you a bridge kind of thing.
06:33
Just absolutely absurd. Sometimes people will ask me, well, Justin, how can so many people follow these false teachers?
06:41
How is it that they have such massive followings? And my response is, is that false teachers are in and of themselves part of God's judgment.
06:53
Jeremiah 5, 30 and 31, they are part of God's judgment amongst other texts. And that's what's going on here.
07:01
But by God's grace, he is pulling his own out of this deception.
07:07
And those are the people that we are trying to reach, those that God will pull out of this deception.
07:13
It's not just Copeland, but Benny Hinn and Bill Johnson. I mean, all of the
07:19
Bethel leaders, they're just flat out lying to you. Angel Feathers and all that kind of stuff, they're just obviously lying, provably lying.
07:27
But people follow them still. But God's own, he is pulling his own out of this deception.
07:36
All right, dear ones, thank you very much for watching. Until our next time together, may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God and the fellowship of his
