They Mock God on Live TV, then THIS Happens...

We're moving into a time in which the gospel and those who preach it are an ever -increasing scandal.

U .S. Vice President Kamala Harris has told religious people that they don't have to abandon their faith in order to support abortion on demand.

Speaking to readers of Elle magazine at the weekend, Harris urged Christians to, you know, lighten up when it comes to what some

Christians see as murder, or as she likes to call it, family planning. And I think on this issue, it's really important to also just remember, you don't have to abandon your faith or your deeply held beliefs to agree that the government should not be telling the woman what to do.

Not only to the world, but also to many who associate themselves with Christ and the church.

Well, you know, I think I have an important voice, but I'm very, I think I've been good. I think part of my, if you want to call it success, is

I've stayed in my lane, and my lane is lifting people's spirits. And there are issues that good

Bible -believing people see on both sides of the fence. But what I want you to see is this is not a strange thing that has come upon us.

It is commonplace throughout church history. God decided male and female.

No, no, no, I'm not, this is not a bad, I need y 'all to hear my heart on this. This is not a bashing. This is not a heeding.

If I was there, maybe I would have told him, is there something in the middle you could do? Like kind of a, like a little maybe, if somebody, well,

I was born like this. I don't know how I feel. I feel you. And I wish that there was an option of other in the kingdom.

We need to recognize that and we need to live accordingly. Paul writes for the word of the cross is moria, foolishness to those who are perishing.

I don't care that you're a Christian. I don't care what the Bible says. Like I feel like it's a clown show, like sitting here trying to decipher what your little mythical book has to say about these very real political issues, right?

To us who are being saved, it is the power of God. From his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations and he will rule them with a rod of iron.

He will tread the winepress of the fury of the wrath of the God on his thigh.

He has a name written King of Kings and Lord of Lords. That's my Jesus. That's the

God whom I serve, not the sisified Christ that's preached in pulpits around the United States of America.

I serve the great God of the universe who gets angry and pours out his wrath. I serve the great

God of the universe who demonstrated his wrath when he poured it out on his own son.

And it amazes me that we believe this, that God would crush and kill his own son, but let you slide.

There we see the great divide between two peoples, those who follow Christ. If you see a continual pattern of sin for a season or a time, that's going to take away your assurance.

And honestly, it should. The only accurate evidence that you're a true believer is righteousness and godliness of life.

Not as a perfection, but as a dominant direction. And those who do not. From a security standpoint,

Taylor Swift comes out against Trump. I don't care if they write that. I'm sad that I didn't two years ago, but I can't change that.

I need to be on the right side of history and I can't see another commercial and see her disguising these policies behind the words,

Tennessee Christian values. Those aren't Tennessee Christian values. I live in Tennessee. I am Christian.

That's not what we stand for. Some things never change. People thought the message of the cross was ridiculous back then, and people continue to think it is ridiculous today.

In the annals of Tacitus in the first century, the gospel of the cross is described as a pernicious and harmful superstition.

I remember my mum only lied to me about one thing. She said there was a god and...

But that's because when you're a working -class mum, Jesus is like an unpaid babysitter. In the letters of Pliny the

Younger in the first century, it is referred to as superstitionum fravum emoticum, a perverse and extravagant superstition.

A lot of people come up here and they thank Jesus for this award. I want you to know that no one had less to do with this award than Jesus.

If it was up to him, Caesar, Melania, be a... Jesus, this award is my god now!

In Suetonius in the second century, in the life of Nero, superstitionum nova et malefica, a new and evil superstition.

To all those who feel different, if you're a part of a group that's called Other, a group that does not get the chance to be center stage, build your own stage and make them see you.

To many people within our culture today, Jesus, the Bible, and Christianity are pretty much a joke that they distort and use for their own twisted agendas.

Here is Sonny Hostin from The View shamelessly blaspheming the name of Jesus Christ. This is so sad, and I don't know that they hide behind religion because I said this on this show once before.

Jesus would be the Grand Marshal at the Pride Parade. And here is Creflo Dollar essentially mocking the name of Jesus by endorsing

Stacey Abrams, who supports some very atrocious policies. I just want to say this because I want to see how it sounds.

Governor Stacey Abrams just walked in. This is a heartbeat in six weeks.

It is a manufactured symbol designed to convince people that men have the right to take control of the woman's body.

In that heartbeat, how many of you, when that came on, thought about Stacey Abrams, right, running for governor of Georgia, who's arguing that that's manufactured in order to deceive women.

She's running for governor of Georgia, and she argued that what we heard just now is something that's been manufactured in order to deceive women.

I mean, that's how far people will go. That's how deeply ingrained this is. As Christians, we need to understand how we should respond to this kind of a culture that wants nothing to do with biblical

Christianity, that wants to construct a Jesus of its own making. And what must we do as preachers?

What should we do? What should we do? Not just merely what should we think. What should we be?

What should we do? Should we build a bridge? For many of the most popular pastors in this country today, they have decided that they want to try to please the culture rather than to stand firm upon the

Word of God against the pressures of the culture. Listen to Joel Osteen's compromise when he is confronted by the

Huffington Post. Like an issue like gay marriage, people look to the ministers for leadership. Is that an issue that's for you against the rules?

You know, it would be. But Mark, I don't really focus on a lot of those things.

I try to stay in my lane of what I feel called to do. And that does come up in interviews and things.

But just don't feel like that. That's not my core message. My core message is how do you have a healthy self -image?

How do you let go of the past? How do you raise good children? How do you reach your dreams? Similarly, T .D. Jakes does pretty much the exact same thing as Joel Osteen when confronted by this issue by the

Huffington Post. Trust me, I've talked to enough LGBT. They are not all the same. Oh, for sure. And you wouldn't call

Christians the same. No, no. But how do we... First of all, is your thinking evolved on this? Evolved and evolving.

Evolved and evolving. Should we hold out an olive leaf to our godless culture? What should we do?

How can we avoid the scandal of the gospel today? However, if we are to live out our lives as true

Christians who submit to what God has revealed in Scripture, there is simply no way to avoid the scorn and mockery of the culture against us.

There is simply no choice but to refuse to compromise to what the culture demands from us. For the true Christian to avoid the scandal of the gospel, well, it would be easier for them to go around the

Red Sea or to climb the walls of Jericho. We cannot avoid the scandal. We must embrace it.

And we must not compromise. We must not compromise. Not one doctrine dealing with the blood of Christ must be compromised.

Our culture is progressing at an unprecedented speed, not towards God, but directly away from God. So much so that it is becoming clearer and clearer who truly represents the name of Jesus Christ and who are

Christians in name only. What's happened, actually, Brandon, is you've become an apostate. First, I mean, I obviously reject that I have fallen into apostasy or deconverted.

You deny Scripture as the ultimate foundation of life. You are an apostate. You are an apostate.

You teach—Brandon, I'll say this with respect to you, because you're in the image of God. I want to respect the image of God in you. I want to respect you and be friendly to you.

But you teach others to entertain their lusts, satisfy their lusts, things that God explicitly condemns in His Word.

And so I love you in Jesus' name. But you are an apostate. You are a deceiver.

And you reject the Word of God. And as Christians, we are called to challenge the things that the culture cherishes and loves and to boldly proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ, a gospel that will undoubtedly offend many within the culture.

We have no choice today, not anymore. Times have changed. We have no choice but to bear the scandal, bear the opposition, and go through it.

You say, yes, we must go through it with our heads down. No, we must go through it with our heads up, drawing upon the strength of heaven.

And though no one else smiles, when we look horizontally, when we look in front of us or behind us or beside us, we see no smile.

We look to heaven because that's the only smile we desire, the smile of Christ. We should not be surprised that many will hate us, perhaps even arrest us for proclaiming the truth about God and Jesus Christ.

God, oh, I'm respecting you. You know who's cheering for us?

The people that are in hell. So you do you, and I'm going to do me. This is public property. Dude.

What? God is knocking. And there he goes, and Damon finds himself in cuffs.

So I wanted to talk to Damon here. Even though we can be certain that there will be many who oppose our message, we simply have no choice but to continue proclaiming all that the

Bible teaches, even the parts that our culture finds offensive, because there is no other message that can save lost sinners.

We have no choice but to bear it and go through it, preaching the gospel and believing that the gospel is the power of God for salvation to all who believe, the

Jew first and also the Greek, the ancient man and the modern one, the gospel of Jesus Christ.

More and more, we are seeing Christians being punished, sometimes arrested for standing firm upon the truth of God's word and refusing to compromise concerning the unbiblical ideologies of the culture.

A high school student in Canada has been arrested for declaring that men and women are different. Josh Alexander attended

St. Joseph's High School, Catholic High School in Renfrew, Ontario. He was barred from school from the grounds for saying that God created two genders, because that's kind of a

Christian precept, but also common sense. When he showed up for class, police arrested him. You can see it on your screen right now.

So we thought it'd be worth talking to him. We've now moved into a time in the West, my brethren, when it is very possible that we are going to experience the solemn and terrible privilege of first -century persecution.

It can be frightening to face this kind of persecution, but as Christians, we should remember that persecution is to be expected, because Jesus himself taught that the world would hate

Christians in the same way that it hated him. We should actually be encouraged when we encounter the opposition of the world, because the cross of Jesus Christ is in opposition to the world.

So when we experience what Jesus himself experienced, we will also experience the power of the gospel that Jesus proclaimed.

But if we hold our course, if we refuse to compromise, we may also experience the first -century power of the cross and the power of the

Holy Spirit. You say, well, I don't know. I don't know if I'll be able to bear it. I know you will be able to bear it if you belong to him.

If we simply trust in the power of the gospel, even amidst the immense opposition against the message we proclaim, we can be certain that God will be with us to give us all the strength we need to fight back against the forces of evil that stand against God and his people.

And yet I discovered something. When the violent take you by force, there is something that happens in the inner man.

Christ does not depart. He becomes real, and he makes you strong. He is faithful.

No matter what we have to endure in the coming decades, we should not fear if we stay with him, if we honor him, if we do not break.

So here's my admonition before we take the text. Let's go forward. Let's go forward.

And not primarily to defend the gospel, but to do what some of us have done now for decades.

Proclaim the gospel and then stand to one side and admire as the gospel of Jesus Christ defends itself and proves its power.

However, we need to be very careful to not do what so many popular pastors in our culture have done, which is to twist the message of the gospel either to please the culture or to enrich themselves.

Because when the gospel turns into something like the prosperity gospel, it becomes no gospel at all.

Hey, your job's not your source. If it is, you're in trouble. Jesus is your source. Whatever you do right now, don't you stop tithing.

Don't you stop sowing offerings. Well, they won't let us go to church. Well, email it in there, text and give or something, but you get your tithe in that church.

If you have to go take it down there and drop it off and stick it under the door or something, you get that tithe in that church, you get that offering in that church, and then you go home and you do what we're supposed to do.

Gospel we preach must not be adorned with eloquence. It must not be adorned with your intellect.

The raw gospel, the real gospel, the gospel of the cross, the gospel of blood, the gospel of vicarious suffering.

If we will proclaim it, we will see the glory of God. We will see the glory of God. Again, let's remember that when we compromise on what

Scripture teaches, we are essentially undermining and destroying the very power of the gospel itself.

Take a look at how popular megachurch pastor Andy Stanley undermines the truth of Scripture in order to promote a distorted version of Christianity.

Peter, James, Paul elected to unhitch the Christian faith from their Jewish scriptures. And my friends, we must as well.

And I'll tell you why. It's actually the same reason they did. Because we must not make it difficult for those

Gentiles who are turning to God. They didn't, we shouldn't either. However, the more we undermine

Scripture, the less power we will see from preaching the gospel. Because the gospel is all about all that God has revealed, not just the parts we like or feel comfortable with.

But remember this, to the degree that you trust in the arm of the flesh, you will see less of this power of which

I speak. And the more you abandon all these carnal trappings of modern evangelicalism, the more you will behold the power of God, a preacher, standing alone, defying the world.

With a message of love, Christ came to save sinners, among whom I am chief.

If Christianity is losing ground in the culture today, we should not blame politicians or the enemies of Christianity because we should fully expect that the world will oppose the message of Jesus Christ.

No, the real problem is pastors who profess to be Christian, who dilute the gospel and compromise concerning the clear teachings of Scripture in order to be accepted by the world.

If the church is weak, it's not the fault of politicians. The church is weak where Christ's ministers are weak.

And I say that to you as a man looking in the mirror. I do not have to run to politicians to find the problem.

I do not have to run to universities, to academia, to find the problem. The problem are the ministers of Christ that have dressed themselves in the armor of Saul and laid aside the smooth stones of the gospel.

And because of that, they can slay no giants. Conniving, pragmatic, always looking for strategy and a method and a new way.
