- 00:11
- Hello, my name is Nick Thomas, I'm from Litchfield Park. I'm standing here today in opposition of the resolution that is presented.
- 00:19
- I am a Christian, I'm also a preacher and a minister, and I'm gonna go to a different direction in this.
- 00:26
- The reason why I'm opposed to this resolution, obviously because the word of God says thou shall not murder. And I believe that the image of God is stamped on every child at the moment of conception, worthy of value, dignity, and respect.
- 00:40
- I also run a homeless ministry and addiction ministry, I've got many people off the streets. And with the fentanyl addiction flooding every single ethnic background, it shows no partiality.
- 00:52
- It seems to me that, well, evil loves to show no partiality. But when we're all supposed to be in unity, in value and dignity, for some reason, level -headed people want to take the humanity out of the human being.
- 01:07
- And I'm talking about the child in the womb. I look at every individual that is on fentanyl today, and I talk about value and dignity and respect, and I talk about their worthiness, and that they can overcome their addiction.
- 01:22
- And that presses me to be consistent across the board. If I talk about value, if I talk about dignity,
- 01:28
- I have to talk about that in the womb as well. That baby is a child.
- 01:37
- And that child is worthy of love, dignity, and respect.
- 01:42
- So anybody opposing this resolution understands dignity and respect.
- 01:48
- So I ask you to consider not to pass a resolution, to further discuss all of this as level -headed people, as people who will say,
- 01:59
- I committed to righteousness, and stand in unity and dignity and respect for all human beings, thank you.
- 02:08
- Thank you, Mayor and Council Members for your service. Earlier this year, an article was published in The Atlantic in regards to a mass school shooting in Texas.
- 02:19
- The article was titled, A Culture That Kills Its Children Has No Future.
- 02:25
- The article went on to point out that our society is becoming a culture of death. But what if those very same children were even more brutally killed just a few years earlier while in their mother's womb?
- 02:40
- When abortion is sanctioned and the deed is done in a clean facility, does that somehow make it less of a culture of death?
- 02:52
- Abortion is an ancient practice dating back before Christ. And it's well -documented in ancient history that believers in God were against abortion.
- 03:01
- This is because Psalm 139 tells us that God formed each of us in our mother's womb.
- 03:10
- Jesus clearly taught that we are to love our neighbors as ourselves and treat others as we would like to be treated.
- 03:17
- And yes, even Jesus taught the sixth commandment, thou shalt not murder.
- 03:24
- Council Members, you have an opportunity today to stand against what a culture of death has taught this generation to believe.
- 03:35
- An opportunity to move us out of the dark ages of an ancient evil practice called abortion and into the light that points to God's holy standard.
- 03:47
- To foster relationships with those of us who actually want to help women when they feel alone and without support.
- 03:56
- To help us promote dignity in men by reminding them that they are responsible for the children that they've produced.
- 04:04
- Council Members, it's your duty to set a course for life and hope and not death.
- 04:11
- Speak up, protect little girls and boys in the womb who cannot speak for themselves.
- 04:18
- Thank you. Thank you. We just came today to talk to you guys and to stand in opposition against this resolution.
- 04:29
- Yeah, from California, we've seen in all parts of our country how deprioritizing, sending the police to certain crimes actually intensifies those crimes and promotes them.
- 04:43
- So in one case you have, police are not allowed to go out for crimes that are theft under $900 in some places.
- 04:52
- So what does that do? It sends a run on Walgreens and people are encouraged to break this law because it's really a pass to break the law.
- 05:01
- And in this situation, it didn't make any sense to me when I read the resolution because I'm thinking, oh, this is a tricky way to get around the law.
- 05:10
- It's a trick. They're gonna say, we're gonna deprioritize this and then what's gonna happen?
- 05:17
- It doesn't even matter anymore. These children don't matter. These women don't matter that are being told that this is okay and that this is a righteous thing to do.
- 05:26
- Like, this is absolutely, as my husband said abominable, it's wrong and I'm just here to urge you and to plead with you that we're not standing up as just for ourselves.
- 05:38
- There are thousands of people, I can't even believe we made it here today, that would wanna be here and would wanna urge you to please stand up for what our state's law is instead of trying to do with some kind of sneaky little backdoor resolution to get your way.
- 05:54
- Thank you. Good afternoon. My name is Addison Walker. I'm 16 years old and was born in the dot of a town out of Oklahoma.
- 06:03
- When I was born, it was just me and one other baby in the entire hospital. However, two years ago, this mystical town had made national news.
- 06:12
- A pregnant mother was killed by her own friend who intended to kidnap the unborn baby by cutting the child out of the mother's womb, which she did.
- 06:20
- However, the baby died soon after. The murderer is now being charged with a double homicide for the life of both the mother and the unborn baby, as it should be.
- 06:30
- This child was already named and loved. However, why would we call for justice for this baby and not the thousands of others who are murdered even more gruesomely just because they are not loved by their mothers?
- 06:42
- It is illegal to murder unborn babies in the state of Arizona, but some of you don't want this law to be enforced.
- 06:49
- I assume that you previously did not enforce 13 -3603 because of Roe versus Wade.
- 06:55
- However, you can no longer use that court ruling as a scapegoat for your negligence. Why do you hesitate?
- 07:02
- 13 ,000 babies are killed annually in Arizona. You have been given the power and authority to end this massacre.
- 07:09
- You are accountable to instruct the police to enforce justice for these precious babies.
- 07:15
- If your closest friend was murdered, what would you say if the police were instructed to de -prioritize the investigation of the murder?
- 07:22
- Would you not be outraged? Remember, if you de -prioritize this law, their blood is on your hands.
- 07:29
- Your names will go down in history as those who willingly promoted the Holocaust of Infants in Arizona.
- 07:35
- More importantly, on Judgment Day, when God judges the righteous and the unrighteous, you will be held guilty and be punished for what you have failed to do.
- 07:45
- James 4 .17 says, whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is a sin.
- 07:52
- Thank you for your time. Thank you for allowing me to speak today. My name is James, I live in Glendale, and I am here to speak in opposition to this resolution.
- 08:02
- Jesus tells us that wisdom is justified by her children, so let us consider some questions today in regards to this resolution.
- 08:12
- Who wants more women in this world, and who doesn't? Who wants more people of color in this world, and who doesn't?
- 08:21
- Who wants more indigenous people in this world, and who doesn't? My friends, it's quite simple.
- 08:29
- Without high -handed hypocrisy, you cannot, on one hand, wish to deprioritize calls when these very people, women, people of color, indigenous people, are being slaughtered, and on the other hand, say that you care about these groups of people.
- 08:50
- Now, if you want to go the route of high -handed hypocrisy, you may certainly do so, but I would encourage you not to do so, my friends, because the reality is, no matter how much you wish to rail against it, no matter how much you wish to throw off the fetters of God and his
- 09:11
- Christ, the reality is that God has established his Christ, his Messiah, and when he considers wicked, evil resolutions like this, he laughs, and the reality is that all of us are going to have to give an account to the
- 09:27
- God who created us in his image, my friends. You're gonna have to stand and give an account for voting yes on a resolution that would deprioritize calls to people who are being slaughtered.
