Legacy, Fatherhood, and the Value of a Christian Example

Recently I was interviewed for a podcast dealing with being a legacy as a father. I want to, in context of that, read you a letter that I just received today. Dad, I was listening to your podcast and appreciate it.

You have a lot of knowledge to share, and you have a passion for truth, and I thought I would let you know that I'm proud to have you as a dad. I've learned a lot about God, evangelism, and apologetics from you, and I wanted to thank you for being a good teacher.

I think it's amazing to see how God has used you and your upbringing to make you bold for the gospel. Keep up the good work, Dad. I love you. That was probably the most important and will be the most memorable review of the podcasts I think I'll ever receive.

But it talks about the legacy we leave behind. The reality is we leave something when we leave this earth, and it is that which has the lasting eternal value. We have people we affect, and we may not even focus on it or realize it.

You don't have to have a big worldwide ministry to leave a legacy. You can leave a legacy in your children or those you're in contact with on a daily basis. Where is the legacy you're leaving today?
