- 00:00
- All right, well, happy Friday. I hope you've had a very productive week. I sure did. Well, I'll be honest, it was a lot more relaxing than it was productive.
- 00:08
- This is kind of a weird week when it comes to recruiting. But in any case, I've been doing a lot of fishing. And actually, the other day,
- 00:16
- Andrew Torber shared one of my fishing pictures. The spot where I've been getting all the trout just doesn't have any trout anymore.
- 00:23
- I can't find them. But what I have been finding are these smallmouth bass. These are small ones.
- 00:29
- These are like probably 9 inches, 10 inches. This one's probably a little less than that. But smallmouth bass are really fun.
- 00:36
- When you catch them, they always feel like giants. Like, they're notorious for being very strong.
- 00:42
- And then they also, when you're reeling them in, they'll jump out of the water pretty high. It's amazing.
- 00:48
- It's a lot of fun to catch these. In any case, the reason I'm sharing this is one of the best parts about gab .com
- 00:56
- is you can find all kinds of businesses owned by Christians. And they're in every industry.
- 01:05
- I mean, I know Christians that are doing all kinds of different stuff, from making candles and soap to someone that's working machines and he does like kind of metal, is it metallurgy?
- 01:16
- Is that what it's called? I don't really know. But anyway, because Torber shared this, there's a tackle company that reached out to me.
- 01:23
- And I just want to read this introduction. This is how he introduced himself to me.
- 01:29
- He wants to sell me some tackle. He says, hey bro. He goes, we're a reformed
- 01:35
- Presbyterian Post Mill Theonomic Tackle Company. Family owned and operated with baits made by a fire -breathing street preacher.
- 01:46
- I mean, he had me at tackle, but all of a sudden he's everything. He's reformed,
- 01:51
- Presbyterian, Post Mill, Theonomic. Now I don't really know what a Theonomic Tackle Company is. I guess it's a tackle company that obeys
- 01:57
- God's law. I'm in. I don't know what it is, but I'm in. But I looked at his tackle and I definitely recommend you check this guy out, especially if you like fishing.
- 02:07
- The tackle that he makes, I actually just got a delivery of some tackle. I purchased some basically immediately.
- 02:14
- It didn't take me much. It's mostly geared towards salmon and trout and steelhead, stuff like that.
- 02:21
- But I know that some of these lures, especially the ones that I bought, they will work with panfish.
- 02:27
- They will work with bass. They'll work with, what are those things?
- 02:32
- Crappies, stuff like that. So I'm excited. So I just thought I'd do an unboxing here. I made this order,
- 02:38
- I don't even remember. It must've been Monday or, it must've been Tuesday and it's already here. So there we go. So anyway,
- 02:44
- I just bought a small thing. I wanted to try this out. It is, he calls this a trout pack and it's awesome.
- 02:53
- It comes in its own little tackle box. So this is something you can just shove in your pocket. I always, when I go trout fishing, like I have this big tackle bag that I wear.
- 03:01
- It's like a backpack, but it's got all my like bass stuff and all the stuff that I don't need for trout fishing.
- 03:06
- So it's always kind of annoying to bring it all out when I know I don't really need it. This will be perfect because I don't have to bring that out.
- 03:13
- I can just bring this and I'll be ready to go. But yeah, this is exciting. Also some really small, they're called sickle hooks.
- 03:23
- These are for the egg clusters, which I've never actually used. But for trout, you use these tiny, tiny hooks and it can hook a pretty large trout.
- 03:30
- Let me show you what I am excited about here. So the first thing is, this is a little trout worm.
- 03:36
- This is hot pink or bubblegum colored rather. And these were, I was catching so many trout before I went on vacation on something that looked almost exactly like this.
- 03:47
- It was made by a different company, Berkeley, which, you know, maybe it's a Christian company, maybe it's not, but this is a reformed, what was it again?
- 03:56
- Hold on. Reformed Presbyterian Post Mill Theonomic Fishing Company. So I'm into that.
- 04:02
- You hook these like kind of like, the way I do it is I rig something through the worm and the hook just kind of sticks out the side.
- 04:08
- So when it's in the water, the river, it kind of moves around like a real fish and the color gets a lot of attention.
- 04:15
- The trout go crazy for these. So that's that. And then also got these egg clusters, right?
- 04:21
- And trout will eat like salmon eggs and stuff like that. This is a yellow one. This is a kind of an orange, hot orange one.
- 04:29
- I've never used those before, but I've heard that trout go crazy for these things. It's like little clusters of fake eggs and all of that.
- 04:37
- So I'm excited about that. Oops, wrong color. And then also he's got these little minnows that are pre -rigged onto a jig head, a small little jig head.
- 04:48
- See the weights right there. And so I would imagine either this is like a swim kind of bait, or you kind of drag it along the bottom like that.
- 04:56
- But this is a pretty good action on that. That's awesome. I really like that. I'm excited. I'm going to do a video at some point fishing with these and to see how they work.
- 05:07
- I'm pretty much 100 % sure that these pink worms, they're called miracle worms, that these are just going to absolutely catch fish like crazy.
- 05:17
- This little three inch worm, I actually already like it better than the Berkeley one because the
- 05:22
- Berkeley one, it like, this one tapers, like it's fatter here than it is here, but the Berkeley one gets so skinny.
- 05:29
- And the fish just bite it and it rips it right off. So I have a feeling that these are going to work better. The action's really good.
- 05:34
- And you can see how it wiggles. I'm excited about this. I'm super excited about this little carrying case.
- 05:40
- But yes, X -Factor Tackle Company. X -Factor Tackle Company.
- 05:46
- Check it out. This looks like just an awesome, awesome find. Thank you for reaching out to me.
- 05:51
- Thank you, Andrew Torba, for not only building the platform that connects all kinds of Christians with businesses and stuff like that together, but also for sharing my pictures, because I would never have met this guy or found this guy without it.
- 06:06
- So yeah, I can't wait to do the video. If you're not on gab .com, it is such a delight.
- 06:12
- Like Twitter is, Twitter is like a barroom fight. Like you can only do it so much.
- 06:17
- Like you go to the bar, you get into these fights, you know, you throw a quick fist, that kind of thing. It's fun in a different way, but I take
- 06:24
- Twitter breaks all the time. Like I'll go a couple of days without looking at Twitter and I feel great.
- 06:30
- And then I go back into it and you smell that familiar dive bar smell and you know you're gonna get into trouble when you're on Twitter.
- 06:38
- Gab, Gab is a great place. There's like, there's so much wholesome content on Gab. Brothers find each other, business opportunities left and right.
- 06:46
- I mean, look at this, it's a handmade tackle from a reformed Presbyterian Post Mill Theonomic Tackle Company.
- 06:54
- Maybe one day we'll get to go fishing together, brother. God bless you and thank you for reaching out. I hope you found this video helpful.
- 07:01
- Next week, we've got a new episode of the Rise and Fall of Gospel Coalition. Looking forward to that. I'm also going to start a review of the racial justice great debate from Gospel Coalition or good faith debate, not great debate.
- 07:16
- It's definitely not a great debate. Good faith debate with Justin Giboney from the AND Campaign.
- 07:22
- That is gonna be classic. Oh my goodness, I cannot wait for that. God bless you. Hope you have a great long weekend.
