Sadducees, but now one other group comes up, and that is the scribes. And so they send one of the scribes up to ask the challenging question, what is the most important commandment of all?

There's 113 commandments. We think of the Ten Commandments and say those are even more, but which one's the greatest of them?

There's been a challenge with this because some Jewish leaders at the time would say the greatest commandment was to love the

Lord your God with all your mind, heart, soul, and strength. Others would say it's about doing the law through obedience.

Which is the greatest? There was a challenge here. Here's the difference. What we end up seeing is

Jesus says the greatest commandment is to love the Lord your God with all your mind, with all your heart, with all your strength.

But then the second is like it. Love your neighbor as yourself. All other commandments, he says, rests on these two.

So he gives the greatest one. Now if you think of the Ten Commandments, those first four fit in the first one. This next six fit in the second one.

But he says all the commandments, every commandment fits under love the Lord your God with all your mind, heart, soul, and strength.
