Where as the Apologetic Dog been? Testing out the new studio and giving some announcements!

05:05
And we are live. Can y 'all hear me out there? Thank you for tuning in to The Apologetic Dog.
05:12
It has been a while, and I have sure missed everyone. I wanted to do a live stream to let everybody know, hey,
05:19
I'm still around. The Apologetic Dog is still in business. I have been setting up a new studio, so you'll have to let me know what you think about that.
05:30
And also in the live chat, let me know if y 'all can hear me okay. I see, oh man, we got a crew in the live chat.
05:39
Thank you so much for tuning in. Wanted to give y 'all a little bit of update.
05:46
I have this studio that's gonna allow me, hopefully, to produce more content. My wife has been so gracious to let me set this up in her home.
05:55
And the infamous Nathan Hargrave, who serves with me at 12 Five Church, he's the one that helped me set all this up, so thank you,
06:05
Pastor Nathan. I guess since I've not been around in a couple months,
06:10
I think it's been early December. The Apologetic Dog is an apologetics ministry, and if you find the logo somewhere, you'll see
06:18
First Timothy 620, where Paul is telling Timothy to guard the gospel deposit that's been entrusted to you.
06:25
And he says to Timothy, do this by avoiding pagan philosophy, this babbling that pagans quarrel about words and just make up their own definitions, and guard against contradictions that falsely call themselves knowledge.
06:39
How do we get knowledge? How do we get truth? Well, none other than the word of God. So thank you for tuning in to the
06:45
Apologetic Dog. I have a lot of different aspirations and desires with this program, but it's mainly to contend for the gospel of grace, and so I love getting into all different kinds of doctrine.
06:58
Oh, my wife is in the side chat. Ah, hey, babe. She's currently looking after the apologetic puppy, who is coming up on 16 months, and so you better believe
07:10
I'll be doing some wifey unchained episodes, and I'm sure you'll get to see baby
07:16
JJ as well. Like I said, I got some announcements that I'd really love to share with y 'all. In just a couple days,
07:23
I will be speaking at a conference called Why Calvinism, and me and Dr.
07:31
Sam Frost will be speaking at the pre -conference, so I wanna tell y 'all a little bit about that, but I have to check the side chat.
07:39
I don't do all of these live chats like Anthony Rogers and Donnie at Standing for Truth.
07:47
What's up, people? Hey, Layman Seminary, thanks for tuning in, and Miles, man, what do you think?
07:53
What do you think about this setup, man? Check this out. I definitely stole this from Miles.
08:00
I gotta get those captions in the side, so be looking out.
08:05
That will have some inside jokes, I'm sure, and I'm sure that will change often.
08:12
Can y 'all hear me okay out there? Donnie and Miles, y 'all let me know if it's okay.
08:22
Let me see if I can throw this up on the screen, actually. Y 'all will have to bear with me.
08:27
This is kind of my first time to go live by myself, and it's pretty cool.
08:33
Let's see here. Let's see if y 'all can see Donnie's comment. He said, my life was incomplete without the apologetic dog streams.
08:42
Thanks, Donnie. Hopefully, I'll be flowing over to your channel soon and doing some debates, so everybody look forward to that.
08:51
Thank y 'all for tuning in once again. Let me tell y 'all a little bit about this conference. The pre -conference with me and Dr.
08:58
Sam Frost will be this coming Wednesday in Tullahoma, Tennessee.
09:04
You would think I would know exactly where the location at. Is that? I do not. I believe it's at Jeffrey Rice's church.
09:13
Just check out his channel. Send him a private message on Facebook, and he'll tell you more about the time.
09:18
I believe it's in the evening. I don't remember if it's exactly at 6 p .m. Central Standard Time. I'll be there.
09:24
I'll be there early so I don't miss my time to speak. But Dr. Frost will go first.
09:29
He's going to be giving an hour presentation on basically just a primer to hyperpreterism.
09:37
Anthony, if you're still in the chat, I think you called this Pantelism. You have to remind me what you called hyperpreterism or it's been called covenant eschatology, but the full preterist view that says all of prophecy has been fulfilled by 70
09:58
A .D. 70 A .D. 70 A .D. The destruction of the temple, Flavius Josephus, 70 A .D. So that's essentially, okay, you like the mic,
10:07
Donnie. Am I coming through okay? Looks great, sounds great. Thanks, Anthony.
10:13
Anthony, I'm hoping to model a little bit after you, man. You are a beast and I do not know how you do four hour live streams.
10:22
Just saying. Anthony, I was on your live stream with you a while back and I remember we were coming up on the three hour mark and my back was hurting.
10:32
And so at least with this setup, I have a nice chair these days. I'm not at the church building sitting on a stool.
10:39
Yeah, let me, as I'm introducing y 'all, hey, we do this on the fly. So definitely a
10:46
Johnny Mac fan. These are, I got all of Johnny Mac's New Testament commentaries. And I have to always consult the
10:54
Johnny Mac. Even though, Anthony, I am no longer a dispensationalist.
10:59
I am full -fledged covenant theologian, but it's not the
11:05
Presbyterian kind. Me and you may have to have a episode, Anthony, on what is the differences between the covenant of works and the covenant of grace.
11:16
But anyway, a little bit of aesthetic going on here. I like looking at that. But anyway, with me and Dr.
11:21
Frost, when we are doing this pre -conference, we're gonna be talking about the dangers of hyperpreterism.
11:28
And he'll kind of begin with giving a primer what it looks like. He actually was in that movement for about a decade.
11:34
And so I think he wants to share a little bit about his personal life in that, what that looked like and what ultimately led him out.
11:41
And I think he's gonna be talking about the things to be aware of. So he'll give a presentation for about an hour, and then yours truly will come onto the scene.
11:50
And so my hope with the pre -conference, with the talk about the dangers of hyperpreterism, is
11:57
I kind of want to do an exegetical approach to how we can expose full preterism.
12:04
And so we'll be doing a deep dive into 1 Corinthians 15 about the resurrection of the dead, but also what's baked into 1
12:11
Corinthians 15 is we actually see the parousia, when Christ will return.
12:16
And it's gonna be when the last enemy to be destroyed is death. And so a lot of my presentation will center in around what death is.
12:25
Is it merely spiritual that happened in the past? Or is it much more than that, of what the scriptures called the death?
12:33
So you don't want to miss that. Flow over to Open Air Theology with Jeffrey Rice.
12:39
Sometimes I'll say Jeffrey Johnson. My bad. I'm really good friends. I hope to be really good friends with Jeffrey Johnson.
12:47
We've corresponded. He's let me interview him once, especially from the Reformed Baptist perspective.
12:54
And he is the president of Grace Bible Theological Seminary just down the road from me.
12:59
So maybe one day I can be a student over there. So pray for me in that. So with this pre -conference, that'll be kind of day one for, it'll just mainly be me and Dr.
13:12
Frost. And then I believe we're gonna be doing an hour question and answer panel. And I don't know if this is going to be live stream for y 'all in the side chat.
13:20
Sorry. Donnie, Anthony, Christian, I don't know how in the world y 'all keep up with the side chat.
13:30
Oh, we got Tim Tant in the building too. And we have a number of y 'all.
13:39
Thank y 'all for tuning in. The Reformed Berean, always have to listen to Anthony. Oh yeah, I always have to listen to Anthony too on Times Two though.
13:49
So I don't know how y 'all keep up with the live chat. Y 'all have to forgive me. Just spam. Oh, Miles telling me the wrong kind of covenant theology.
13:57
Ha ha ha ha. Oh, I love it. So y 'all just spam your comments if I'm not answering your questions.
14:05
Yeah, if y 'all have questions, let me know. Let me know. And so as y 'all are doing that and spamming them and throwing them at me.
14:15
Okay, wifey said loud and clear. Thanks, babe. Babe of all babes. So that's the pre -conference this coming
14:21
Wednesday. Pumped. I went through my presentation probably 10 times. Can't wait.
14:27
I even have a handout. Ha ha. So then we have the actual conference and that will be
14:33
Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. My computer dinged. I'm not sure if it's anything important.
14:41
Now what's incredible is if you've been seeing me advertise the Why Calvinism Conference, there is a new figure in the bottom right corner and it's me.
14:56
So I gotta tell you a little bit of how this came about. So probably a year ago,
15:01
I was talking with my boy, Jeffrey Rice, and he reached out to me after seeing my debate with Brock Kendall at ASU.
15:10
We flew Marlon from the Gospel Truth down to moderate our debate and Jeffrey Rice was like, hit me up about Church of Christ theology and why are they so prevalent in our areas, his area in Tennessee and Jonesboro, and what are the best ways to combat that.
15:28
And so we talked strategy and we started talking about life, ministry, and just the wonderful blessings that God has just done in our lives.
15:36
And so with that, Jeffrey was like, hey, I'm gonna be doing conferences in the future. Would you like to be a part of it?
15:42
And I was like, well yeah, absolutely I would. And so he already kinda had these guys booked for all these different categories for Why Calvinism, really taking the sovereignty of God and Calvinism, the doctrines of grace, and applying it in many different spheres of life.
15:59
And so Tom Buck, unfortunately, is not able to make it to the conference.
16:06
And then Jeffrey Rice was like, Jeremiah, can the apologetic dog fill in to take
16:13
Tom Buck's place? And I'm like, yes, he didn't see me on the other end, but I was doing one of these. And I said, absolutely,
16:19
I'd love to. And so I've had about a week, week and a half to prepare. I'm not making excuses,
16:25
I promise. But I'll be speaking at Why Calvinism, and we're gonna be filming a documentary, which
16:32
I'm really excited about, just getting to talk more about why Calvinism matters. And is it one of those things where you can just say, ah, it doesn't really matter.
16:40
I can kind of pick a few of the points of Calvinism, pick a few of the points of Arminianism, and live my life comfortably.
16:46
Well, you can, but we wanna be consistent. And more than even being consistent, we want to be faithful to the word of God, because we know truth doesn't contradict itself.
16:58
All right, I'm hearing dings. I don't know if that, let's see. I gotta check my live chat, because I don't know how y 'all do this.
17:06
When will you be doing another debate? Let's see. I'll put that real quick on the screen.
17:14
Thank you for asking this fantastic question. I have a program called Ecamm Live, so I'm not real sure, bear with me.
17:23
I'll figure out how to get the comments big and everything. Great question, but you're gonna have to hold on, because I do have one coming up in a couple months.
17:32
But you're gonna have to wait. I'm gonna talk about a few announcements that I have, and I cannot wait to tell you about the next debate, the next bullet in the chamber.
17:40
So thank you for asking me that question. So with the conference, I'm taking
17:47
Tom Buck's place, and I'm getting to speak on Calvinism in Tribulation.
17:53
And so I've been studying this pretty in depth over the past few days.
17:59
You can ask my wife. She's had to sacrifice her time to allow me to go to the church and make preparation. Thanks, babe.
18:05
But anyway, if you are interested, this will be in Tullahoma, Tennessee, I believe. The address is there.
18:13
We've been posting this like crazy. We're gonna have Keith Foskey in a little bit of Superior Theology.
18:20
Myles Christian, Anthony Rogers, that is the Presbyterian theology. You're welcome, Superior Theology.
18:26
We hand it over to the Presbyterians. But give us some time. We're still reforming. And Keith Foskey, I believe, he is also known as, was it, is it the
18:38
Lord? Or it's the King of All Millennialism. He's kind of the, he's the off -brand of Doug Wilson, I believe, so I'm looking forward to getting to know
18:46
Keith Foskey. And as you can see, none other than the
18:52
Dr. White, he's gonna be speaking, I can't remember exactly the day he's speaking on, but the last event of the conference, he will be debating a non -Calvinist,
19:02
I believe, on the Atonement. So Tim Tant, if you're still in the chat, you might remember, ah,
19:10
Tim, you still are here. There isn't any reason, biblically, to suggest that, man, y 'all are talking about the thief on the cross.
19:17
What's up, Marlon? Marlon, let me figure out how to put you up in here, man.
19:26
It disappeared. I do not know what happened. Let me try that again. So Marlon Wilson is a fantastic friend of mine.
19:36
We like to chop it up, I'll call him up, and be like, man, why are you getting so much trouble on Twitter, social media, calling dudes out for the heresy, and man, sometimes we just gotta debrief.
19:48
So Marlon, you are our brother. Thanks so much for letting me debate on your channel.
19:54
I think one of the last debates we did, was it the Anabaptist fellow?
20:00
I can't remember his name, but that was fun. He did not like me a whole lot, and one of my mutual friends with the gentleman
20:09
I debated, I remember he told him that he felt like he wasted three months of his study debating me, but you know what, with debates, and I know
20:17
Anthony knows what this is like, and Donnie, stepping in that debate dojo, you know, we contend for the truth, and we trust
20:26
God, ultimately. And Marlon, I know that's your heart as well. You're putting out that content, and all you other wonderful men and women out there that are putting out content and trusting
20:37
God with it. And so that's ultimately the aim of my channel as well. Thanks for tuning in, Marlon. This is my first, once again, this is my first live stream, and I don't have the fish bone with me,
20:50
Trey Fisher. He is building a studio also in, my goodness, where's he at?
20:57
Louisiana, Calhoun, Louisiana, and it's looking great. So we're gonna be doing some content together as well, and doing live streams.
21:04
We gotta start pumping this out. I believe the YouTube algorithm really favors live streams, but I can't do four -hour live streams like Anthony.
21:14
Maybe one day, don't know. And I tried to do this live on Facebook as well, and right when I hit the go button,
21:20
Facebook said, I'm out. So even though I'm the apologetic dog, sometimes I'll see a squirrel and chase squirrel.
21:28
That's okay. So back to the conference here. Let's see, oh, we have the slickest man of live that will be speaking,
21:36
Matt Slick. So I'm looking forward to meeting him in person. And once again, the last event in the conference will be
21:44
Dr. James White debating a non -Calvinist, I believe, on the atonement. Okay, so I think
21:54
I touched on all that. I'm really looking forward to the time of fellowship. Jeffrey Rice said that we have some really fun activities scheduled in between preaching.
22:06
We're gonna be singing hymns in locations that will probably shock the world.
22:12
So I'm looking forward to getting to hang out with everybody. Let's see, ah, love the live stream thingy.
22:22
That is how I feel about it also, Sparky. I haven't got it all figured out, but I hope to crank out some more of these over time.
22:31
And so Sparky, I'm glad you tuned in because my next announcement is I plan to do an interview with Lee Ann Ferguson soon.
22:43
We don't have a date, Sparky. Please forgive me. But we are trying to nail down a time in maybe the next week or two.
22:52
Really wanna try to work with Trey's schedule. Real quick, so this book is called
22:57
Christ Rescued Me from the Church of Christ. Hey, guess what? She gave me the hookup. This is a fantastic book.
23:05
Lee Ann came out of the Church of Christ movement, the restorationist movement. The Campbellites, ultimately, as we know them historically, they believe that all of your sins are washed away, your past sins, the moment that your body comes in contact with the water in the ceremony of baptism.
23:24
And so the Church of Christ are all over the place in Jonesboro, and the apologetic dog has an emphasis.
23:31
You've probably noticed I have two emphases. It's been on full preterism these days, and also the
23:40
Church of Christ. Now, I've had a lot of people email me from all over the world and message me on Facebook.
23:47
A lot of people are asking why. Why are the Church of Christ, in my opinion, viewed as a cult and have deviated from the gospel of grace?
23:55
Well, it's a number of things. The Church of Christ, I believe, teach a works righteousness gospel.
24:03
And that begins with baptism. If you don't get wet, if you do not enter into the watery graves of baptism to come in contact with the blood, then you're damned and going to hell.
24:15
And so we can get into defining what works are biblically. Guess what, it's everything you do.
24:21
It's everything you get up, you walk around, any type of tasks that you're trying to be obedient to, or you're just going about your everyday life.
24:29
Those are works, or gods of mine, in the Greek is as general as you could possibly think.
24:36
And they know this, so they always have to appeal to, well, we're not justified by works of the flesh, or we're not justified by works of the law, or meritorious works.
24:45
And so I try to heavily emphasize, look, the common theme throughout all of scripture that was prophesied in the
24:52
Old Testament that we see in the gospels preached by Jesus in Acts and the Pauline epistles is that the gospel is one of God's grace that he accomplished at Calvary, meaning that salvation was accomplished by the works of Jesus Christ, not our works.
25:09
And so I believe the Church of Christ add the ceremonial work of baptism.
25:17
And I've gotten in trouble with my Lutheran friends and my Anglican friends as well. I actually see them, it's case by case,
25:24
I'll admit, but as being within the fold, but baptismal regeneration kind of comes into the picture.
25:30
And I just try to say, look, you can't contain the Holy Spirit. And if I call baptism a work, I'm not saying that we are doing something to try to gain favor with God.
25:40
No, we have a strong distinction between law and gospel. And if baptism is a sanctifying work, then it's gospel because we've already been justified.
25:51
We're living our life to the praise of his glorious grace, but we still are created unto good works.
25:57
And that's where baptism comes in. So when the Church of Christ make baptism a part of our justification, you are embracing a different Christ.
26:07
You've now committed the Galatian one heresy and you're severed from Christ.
26:13
And so Leanne's book, her journey is incredible because she knows all the lingo.
26:20
And when I was reading it, I'm like, I feel like me and this lady share a brain because we understand all of the features that the
26:33
Church of Christ, I don't wanna say inherited, but they're just a lighter version of Roman Catholicism.
26:40
So let me put that on hold for a second, see what's going on in the live chat here. Let's see.
26:48
Love the book, would love to watch an interview. Let me show y 'all the comment I'm talking about here. Appreciate it,
26:54
Steven Reeves. Excellent book. I honestly couldn't put it down. I read the book probably in just a handful of days and I'm bragging a little bit, but Leanne, she sent probably 15 copies of her book to the church that I pastor at, at 12 .5
27:12
Church. And by the way, I am pastor and elder at 12 .5
27:17
Church in Jonesboro, Arkansas. So if you're in the Northeast Arkansas area, by the way,
27:23
Sparky, I don't know if you're still in the side chat, you gotta come visit 12 .5, but come check out our fellowship.
27:29
We love for you to come visit. Our service starts at 10 a .m. And we have a few things that are very distinct in our worship service.
27:37
We, after the sermon, so we sing the word, we pray in fellowship together, we do the ordinance,
27:45
Miles Christian, of the Lord's Supper every Sunday. Yes, it's a sacrament, a sanctifying means of grace.
27:53
I'm just kidding. But we do it every Sunday. We get to do this together. And then at 12 .5,
27:58
we do Koinonia Feast every Sunday. We have so much food for lunch.
28:04
Maybe that's a little bit of our Baptist coming out. It's basically a potluck. But every Sunday, we get to share a meal in Koinonia Fellowship.
28:11
And then afterwards, I don't know if Anthony Rogers is still in the building, you'll really like this, we actually do a sermon
28:17
Q &A, a sermon discussion. And most of the whole church stays for that, and it's just awesome.
28:24
So to quote Steve Lawson, it's not the Lord's hour, it's the Lord's day at 12 .5
28:29
church. So anyway, oh, oh, oh, oh,
28:34
I wanna take a moment here. Matthew Broderick.
28:41
I wanna say some nice things about Matthew here. Matthew, maybe I can call him a friend.
28:48
We debated on Marlon's channel, goodness, maybe three years ago. Matthew, if you're still in the chat, what was our proposition?
28:57
Was Mary sinless? And so Matthew, we have a love -hate relationship. The hate comes with all the fiery comments that we have for one another, but anyway,
29:08
I actually really enjoyed our debate. And so he likes to remind me that baptism now saves you,
29:13
Jeremiah. You should go read 1 Peter 3, 21. Love you, Matthew. Thank you so much for your input and helping me keep that YouTube algorithm alive on my channel.
29:25
Okay, so let me see here. Okay, Myles still in the chat.
29:33
Let's see here. Man, I'm behind. Y 'all have been sending a ton of questions. Oh, Tim Bashong!
29:42
Oh, yes! Okay, I gotta make sure y 'all can see his. So if y 'all don't know
29:49
Tim, Tim is the one that sung the introduction to the
29:55
Radio Free Geneva with The Dividing Line, James Wyatt, A Mighty Fortress. So Tim, I'm gonna just go ahead and tell everybody.
30:03
I got to stay at Tim's house back in September and I got to smoke my first cigar with Tim and I couldn't see straight.
30:11
Ha, ha, ha. If I get in trouble for saying that, I can always go back and edit that out,
30:16
I think. But anyway, I got to experience so much wonderful hospitality from Mr.
30:22
Tim and his wife and got to be a part of the Y, no, no, no, the
30:27
Eschatology Matters Conference back in the fall. Phenomenal time. So if you haven't checked out that channel, go type in Eschatology Matters because it does.
30:38
And something I love about Brandon Wood and Josh Howard is they're very charitable with us all millennialists.
30:48
Sorry, Tim, I'm leaning all mill today. Tim's post mill.
30:54
But so many charitable discussions over at that channel. So definitely go check out Eschatology Matters.
31:01
And so Tim's asking me the question, how come that sermon was so long? I'm not sure what you're talking about.
31:10
Let's see. Ha, ha, ha. Let's see. Tim is also saying, first cigar, a real trooper.
31:19
Yeah, that was interesting. Someone told me
31:24
I was starting to level up and being reformed. Ha, ha, ha, ha. Everything in moderation.
31:32
Okay, Marlon is saying, Jeremiah got that Johnny Mac commentary set up. Oh yeah, I got all the new testament. I always consult old
31:39
Johnny Mac, even though Marlon, I'm not dispensational. I've embraced the world of 1689 federalism.
31:48
And so even Dr. White doesn't ascribe to all of the terminology there, but I am,
31:54
I'm learning. So anyway, Tim, so good to have you in the chat, man.
32:02
Y 'all have to bear with me because I've never done a live stream by myself, but this is kind of fun because I get to kind of watch y 'all's comments along.
32:10
And I have five likes. I appreciate that. I've done a little bit of research in the
32:15
YouTube algorithm. If you appreciate my content, please like and subscribe. That just helps me essentially be able to circulate my content out to more people.
32:26
And I get to interact with more people, especially during a live stream. So thank y 'all for doing that.
32:33
Last thing, I guess, with Christ Rescued Me, I'm really looking forward to this interview. So be on the lookout for that, hopefully in the upcoming weeks.
32:39
And I'd like to have the fishbone, Trey Fisher on to interview Leigh Ann Ferguson as well.
32:46
So my last debate, or well, this is the thing with live streams.
32:52
I make word blunders all the time, but they have to stick. My next announcement is a debate.
32:59
So I will be doing a debate with Mike Hysaw. And so I gotta make sure
33:05
I say the date right. It'll be April 5th at 12 .5 Church, live and in person.
33:11
Marlon, if we had a bigger budget, we'd fly you back out. Or you know what I'd love to do? I'd like to fly
33:16
Marlon and Donny with Standing For Truth Out. And y 'all could be co -moderators maybe of a debate one time in the future.
33:23
Wouldn't that be awesome? But Donny's from Canada A, so that plane ticket would be pretty costly.
33:33
So anyway, I'm looking forward to this debate. Let me see here. Mike Hysaw, very professional.
33:42
He is a gentleman. And so when he reached out to me, he said, Jeremiah, I would like to debate on the same proposition that you debated
33:51
Gavin James on when I debated on Standing For Truth, Marlon, or Donny's channel.
33:58
I believe the proposition was, does baptism justify us before God?
34:07
No, does baptism justify us before God? I could be getting the proposition wrong.
34:15
But in that debate, one of my major arguments was showing that baptism does not justify us because we are justified by faith.
34:25
And so I believe once you have a really good understanding of what faith is, then you can see what baptism and what ergon, baptism looks like in connection with faith, but always holding a distinction.
34:38
So anyway, I just wanna encourage you, go check out my debate with Gavin James. I'm gonna get this right.
34:47
Are we justified? Man, I'm gonna have to look at my notes, but I'm not gonna do that to y 'all. But we're gonna be debating about when is the point of justification, and is that in our baptism?
34:59
And so the reason why I'm really looking forward to this debate is because Mike watched my debate with Gavin and said, hey,
35:05
I wanna crack at this. And I respect that. Anybody that's willing to share their convictions,
35:13
I have respect for, and I wanna be able to do it in a loving way. I believe it's Ephesians 4 .15,
35:18
where the apostle Paul says, speak the truth in love. And so that's gonna be my aim with Mr.
35:25
Hysall. And we're gonna be talking about baptism, and no doubt getting into all the proof texts. So I'll be looking out for that debate
35:33
April 5th at 12 .5 Church in Jonesboro, Arkansas. I believe that's a
35:39
Friday, probably starting at 6 p .m. So what are y 'all saying over here? Oh!
35:45
Oh! Ha, ha, ha, ha! Marlin, how you gonna do this to me? I'm gonna do it.
35:51
I'm gonna do it. I'm gonna do it for the Graham that died. So I guess I gotta do it for the livestream.
35:58
What's my thought on hashtag Bailgate? Unfortunately, I know exactly what that means.
36:05
Ha, ha, ha. Warren McGrew. I have actually a little bit of respect for Warren.
36:14
I think the respect I have comes from him being very knowledgeable. You gotta hand it to the man.
36:20
That dude is a critic of Calvinism, total depravity seems to kind of be his specialty.
36:27
He's a critical thinker, and I like that. And I'm gonna say it, don't hate me, but I have a level of respect for Layton Flowers, and he may be at the conference coming up here in just a couple days, and I would love to meet him.
36:43
I, he has made so many points, asked so many questions that have caused me to just step back and think about what's being said.
36:51
And the same thing for Warren McGrew. So I gotta say the nice things before I tell how
36:57
I truly feel. Marlon, I think it's very unfortunate how
37:03
Warren started framing Calvinists being like, I don't know if it was
37:10
Molech worshipers, but having the same vibes or energy as those that are saying, look, when our confessions say that God will save the elect infants that's what the confession says.
37:23
We affirm the sovereignty of God, but we also affirm that he's the just judge of the earth to always do right.
37:30
So as far as I know, our reformed heritage doesn't make a dogmatic case that there absolutely must be something called infant damnation.
37:39
And so we just say, we trust God in those. Yes, there are verses all throughout scripture. Jesus says, for such these little children are the kingdom of God.
37:49
And so we look at those and say, hey, we trust the character of God. But Marlon, I think it was unfair what
37:57
Warren did. I will say it seems consistent with his character and he definitely tries to ruffle feathers unnecessarily.
38:08
And so I really appreciated you and Dr. White saying this is uncharitable.
38:14
Sure, maybe they were trying to take Calvinism to a logical conclusion. It just does not follow in any way, shape or form that when we are trusting
38:25
God with the salvation of our infants, that means that the means that God has ordained is the parents of children praying night and day after day for their salvation.
38:38
I'll be the first to say, almost every night I am praying for baby JJ, the apologetic puppy that God would take out that heart of stone and give him a heart of flesh.
38:48
And so I watched you talk about it, Marlon, and I resonated with you as a parent.
38:54
I'm just like, man, I don't like it when I get told, yeah, because of your theological convictions of the absolute sovereignty of God, you're basically like a
39:02
Baal worshiper or a Moloch. You have the same energy as those people that offer their children to Moloch.
39:08
It, to me, it was unfair. So how was that? Did I answer your question, Marlon? Pretty good?
39:16
Oh, Ali said dinner's ready. Yeah, I did tell her I would try to do about 30 minutes or so, but I was having so much fun.
39:24
So she'll be gracious to me. All right, well, those are my announcements.
39:31
I appreciate all of y 'all for tuning in. Also want to plug this gentleman's channel.
39:43
Miles, I was gonna find, let's see. This is a good one. So this is
39:49
Miles Christian's channel at Answering Adventism. He said,
39:54
Tim is the Mighty Fortress guy. That's what my wife refers to him as. That's hilarious. That's all I refer to him as, too.
40:01
Go check out Miles' channel. He, I'm a little bit jealous of Miles because his channel, his
40:06
YouTube channel is doing like 10 times better than mine. He's been only doing it for about a year. So Miles, you gotta help me up, man.
40:13
I'm trying to get my aesthetic looking a little bit like yours. I want to say, let's see, get the right hand. I'm gonna have a really cool apologetic dog logo that's a neon sign.
40:24
I'm waiting on Pastor Nathan to finish it. So who knows when that's gonna be? Heh heh heh.
40:30
But anyway, go check out Answering Adventism. And before I sign off here, wanna skim the chat.
40:40
Oh, Truth Defenders, thank you so much for tuning in. And thank you for sharing your thoughts about light and flowers.
40:50
Like I said, I have a level of respect. I think his biggest problem, because what does
40:55
Dr. White call him? Storytime with Uncle Flowers or something like that? I think the biggest critique
41:02
I have for Dr. Flowers, is he a doctor? I don't know if I gave him too much credit there, but if he is, perhaps, is when he gives analogies of God in his sovereignty,
41:13
I call it the fallacy of unification. He is bringing God down and elevating man.
41:20
And so when he talks about contra -causal free will, I believe he's saying God has this level of free will and so does man.
41:28
And so by you saying that man and God univocally have free will, well, that's going to cause all sorts of problems because we are the creatures and he is the creator.
41:41
And you can never blur those lines or say that there's a true touching point where we share something with God univocally.
41:50
You can't do it. We are image bearers that reflect him. So I feel you there,
41:56
Truth Defenders. There are some cringy moments where I hear Uncle Layton or the Flower Patch Kid himself, but I believe it's all in,
42:07
I want to say good fun, but to me, I'm charitable towards provisionism, Southern Baptists, they are brothers in Christ.
42:15
We believe the same gospel. And so I think we can continue to sharpen one another. And back to Marlon's credit,
42:21
I want to try to encourage people away from the criticisms that are just unwarranted.
42:31
I'm just trying to take a theological system and take it to its logical ends. But you got to be careful doing that because those logical conclusions, sometimes you don't say they're a conclusion and you just say, this is what you believe.
42:45
This is what you should believe. And hey, it makes us not want to be so charitable.
42:51
Jacob Hassall, you know what? Jacob, if you're still out there, are you coming to the debate?
42:59
Hopefully you do. I look forward to getting to meet you, your dad, maybe the rest of the family. And thank y 'all for reaching out to me, wanting to do that.
43:08
I'm looking forward to the debate. I'm really trying to set aside time for the month of March coming up to hopefully research your dad's sermons and look forward to having y 'all come over at 12 .5.
43:24
We want to just be nothing but hospitable to y 'all and all of our guests. So thank you for tuning in.
43:30
Uncle Layton flowers. Okay.
43:38
Yep, y 'all have some interesting ideas towards Layton.
43:44
Well, thank y 'all so much for tuning in to The Apologetic Dog. This was fun.
43:50
Oh, oh, oh, oh, before we sign off, me and this man, we hope to have hopefully some episodes coming up.
44:00
I think I'm gonna try to come on AK. AK, I'm sorry, we were actually gonna do an episode, I think it was last week.
44:06
And all I can say is some family things came up. So look forward to me and AK doing some more stuff. I know
44:12
AK really just wants to grill me on his channel after our debate. But it's all good.
44:19
AK is one of those individuals I have a lot of respect for. AK, you are a critical thinker.
44:26
And like I said, you post challenging questions, make really good points. And something else at The Apologetic Dog is
44:32
I don't want to give off the impression that I know everything. And so sometimes in debates, I may really speak confidently and passionately.
44:41
And I think that's just adrenaline. I'm a preacher at heart. And so I'm going to declare things.
44:48
And as Johnny Mac says that preaching is a way to just elevate your voice. Even though he's not doing that these last couple years.
44:58
Still miss Johnny Mac being able to travel and preach a whole lot.
45:03
Like I said, got a lot of respect for old Johnny Mac over here. So AK, I look forward to doing some content with you.
45:10
Let me know if you want to say anything else out there. Oh, I love this comment.
45:19
AK, I would be lying if I said I didn't think the same thing one day.
45:26
Oh, gotta throw this comment. Adam, you'll have to forgive me, man.
45:31
I'm trying to figure out the live stream, how to do all this. So thank you for tuning in.
45:38
We're gonna have lunch one day soon. But not this week because I'll be going to the conference here in just a couple days.
45:45
Adam Harkness is a great friend of mine and a member at 12 Five Church. Okay. Well, we had about 25 active viewers for the
46:00
Apologetic Dogs first live stream. And you gotta be gracious with me because I don't necessarily know what
46:06
I'm doing. I spent so much time trying to figure out how to set this up. And like I said, this is not just a flat wall.
46:12
These are two walls that have a corner directly behind me. So anyway, I'm really excited about this studio setup.
46:17
One of these days, I'm gonna get another camera and show you all the lights that you don't see in here because it's really cool.
46:24
I had no idea how much went into setting up a studio. I know Myles knows all that.
46:30
He's telling me all these formulas to how to set up lights. And Myles will be at the conference.
46:39
And so I can't wait. I hate that you can't make it to the pre -conference because I'm gonna be lighting up some hyper -preterism.
46:46
They need it. All 13 hyper -preterists, unfortunately, are in Arkansas and just right outside of Jonesboro.
46:55
And so I've had so many people ask me, Jeremiah, why is full -preterism a heresy? And I'm like, because they redefine our blessed hope.
47:02
They redefine the coming of Christ to have already happened in the past. And when you do that, then you make
47:09
Jesus' coming a spiritual coming. And what Don Preston and the rest of them do is they have to say where Jesus is now at the right hand of the
47:18
Father, He's not the God -man. He no longer has that human nature.
47:24
And so it redefines Christ. It redefines our blessed hope. And first, Corinthians chapter 15 talks about the essentials of the gospel.
47:33
And so they redefine everything, where it's no longer our future blessed hope, but it's a realized hope that happened in the past spiritually.
47:43
So Miles, I look forward to seeing you and Tim Tant and everybody else that can make it out to the conference coming up.
47:50
Once again, that conference is Why Calvinism? And so that'll be in Tullahoma, Tennessee.
47:56
We'll see. Well, thank you, Sparky. I got the thumbs up.
48:04
Let's see here. Yeah, Sparky, she's on me about getting my interviews lined up.
48:12
And thank you, I need that. I am a dad of a almost 16 -month -old.
48:17
And so I got that. I have to be there for my bride, make sure that she is provided for and taken care of.
48:25
And then I'm a pastor in a whole church thing, and I work as a full -time hospice and chaplain.
48:31
And so the days are jam -packed, but definitely gonna try to continue doing more live streams and making good content.
48:39
So something else, if you have benefited from this channel, once again, subscribe and like.
48:45
But I would like suggestions of future content. So you can message me on Facebook Messenger or in the contents, but I kinda wanna dip my hands into all the different kinds of things that I see other
48:57
YouTubers like Marlin and Donny making out there. They host debates. And then you have the
49:04
Anthony Rogers that do the longest live streams in the world. But I also wanna have those bite -sized videos, maybe two, three minutes that just explains a doctrine, explains a verse very well, and has the awesome aesthetics of answering
49:18
Adventism with Myles Christian. And so I just wanna continue to do my best, to show myself approved as somebody that not only handles the
49:29
Word of God well, but wants to package this in such a way that people appreciate the content.
49:36
And I've noticed that if you have a good aesthetic, if you have a good presentation, it allows people to actually hear better what you're saying, and they will stay tuned in longer.
49:48
So, yes, we're gonna be doing episodes. I think the title that we like the best is
49:55
Wifey Unchained. Y 'all ain't ready for that, Wifey Unchained.
50:04
Oh yeah, thanks, Adam. This is a good suggestion. Is the armor of God stylish to wear?
50:11
Of course you would. It's only because you have better style than me, Adam. But yes, it is stylish to wear.
50:21
Love it. All right, well, I'm getting hungry, and I'm sure my dinner needs to be warmed up.
50:28
But before I sign off, once again, if this content has benefited you in any way, please like and subscribe and share, and visit the
50:37
Apologetic Dog website. And if you do that, that website is awful, but that's getting revamped soon, and so you need to see the before and after.
