One of the hardest things for us to take in and sort of have a moment of sanctification over is where you say that you're gonna go to Kauai to plant a church.
00:14
And even Christians who love the Lord will say things like, oh,
00:20
I know, I know why you're going to Kauai. Oh, you're really suffering for Jesus in Kauai, aren't ya?
00:26
Hey, make sure you have me out to your church to speak. I'd love to suffer alongside you for the gospel in Kauai.
00:34
And we know that that's one of the hard parts of this is that people just really don't understand the nature of the situation in Kauai.
00:42
Though it may be paradise, not everyone there is going to paradise. And it is in desperate need of the gospel.
00:50
People are hurting there, it has a high suicide rate, addiction. Again, overrun with the darkness of the cults and the new age and Buddhism and just secularism has just seeped in and destroyed what was once this
01:02
Christian kingdom. And we know that there are so many difficult moments ahead of us as a church, but we're committed to it.
01:11
And it's hard, it's hard to convince people sort of your true intentions.
01:17
It's hard to convince people of what the true nature of the situation is. And we know that our team is gonna face some very, very difficult days.
01:25
We know that being a consistent Christian in a culture, really anywhere, but in specifically a place like that where you're gonna actually challenge the idols, we know that it's gonna come with severe consequences and conflict.
01:38
Now we're gonna do it with love. We're gonna do it with affection and kindness and compassion and gentleness. But even the suggestion of conflict we know is disastrous.
01:51
And we know that the team themselves is facing a major obstacle and that is financial.
01:58
Man is it hard to live there. The United States I think has so disrupted
02:04
Hawaii and destroyed their economy in so many ways that people, we saw in one instance the median income is like 50 ,000 and the average home price was like $500 ,000.
02:17
That doesn't make any sense. It literally makes no sense. And we know that financially we are gonna face difficult times ahead.
02:27
We have a team of people that are committed to full -time vocational ministry out there to serve the people in Kauai, but it's hard.
02:33
I mean I saw in one store a block of cream cheese was $9, $9 for a block of cream cheese.
02:40
I picked up on one of our first days there, I picked up a pack of two rolls of toilet paper and it was
02:47
I think $5 for two rolls of toilet paper. The housing situation there is extremely difficult.
02:54
The conflict with the culture out there is extremely difficult. It's just hard and we need help.
03:02
You know when we planted Apologia Church many years ago, how
03:07
God did it was amazing. There's certain parts of me sometimes when I think about it,
03:13
I think you were insane. What possessed you to think that you could do this?
03:18
You didn't have any support. You didn't have any help. What kind of madness is it to step out in that way with no idea what tomorrow holds and no ability to feed your family and to say
03:31
I'm gonna do this. I'm being sent to plant this church and I'm gonna do it. It didn't make any sense.
03:37
And we're in that same situation now. Apologia Church is actually a relatively small church. We have like 200 families.
03:42
Some people might think that's big but it's not what people think it is. It's a relatively small church.
03:48
We have a huge reach around the world. There's no question about that. God has graced us with that. But we're a small church so here's the thing.
03:55
With our small family and church here taking care of the needs of our people and putting legs in the gospel, it taxes us financially.
04:02
We have a hard time as a church, as a small church that we are. However, God from the very beginning of Apologia Church funded this whole work.
04:11
Everything you see with Apologia Church was funded not by the people inside Apologia Church. We didn't have the money.
04:17
It was always funded internationally. It was funded by believers just like you who saw what
04:22
God was doing with this church and our message and they helped. And what's happening in Apologia Kauai is exactly the same thing.
04:31
We need the help of believers really around the world to give to this work to see all of Kauai come under the peace of Jesus.
04:39
We need your help. We need financial help. We need prayer. We need help so that our team as it is out there planting this church can survive.
04:47
They can feed their families and they can be about the work of ministry 24 hours a day on their feet.
04:53
We need help to make sure that we can reach the people on the island of Kauai. We need help to build the education thing that we're doing out there to educate the youth on the island of Kauai.
05:02
We need your help for that. And so really where we're at now with all that God has done to show us what he has for us in Kauai, we're in a place now where we're saying, okay, now who's in this with us?
05:14
We need your prayer. We need your encouragement and we need financial support. And so what we're really asking for in this video is that if you have been touched by what
05:24
God is doing here and really through all of our ministry, and if you wanna be a part of Apologia Church and the work that God is doing, then the way to do that right now, just to be straight, is to serve together with us and co -labor with us with financial support.
05:40
And there's a way to do that at apologiakauai .com. You can go there, you can get resources, you can learn more about our work, and you can give financially there on a regular basis to make sure that we have what we need as a church to actually do what we're gonna do with the gospel on this island.
05:55
And I wanna just say to you, I say thank you a lot. I say thank you a lot because I recognize the grace that God has given to us to do what we're doing, and that it hasn't come from us.
06:09
It's come from God's hand, but his hand has come through you, loyal partners and laborers with us.
06:20
And so I say thank you a lot, all the time. And that's because I mean it. And I just wanna say to you who are watching this right now,
06:29
I wanna ask you to consider truly joining with Apologia Church as we do this work, this mission of the gospel on the island of Kauai.
06:37
Here's our hope. I'm just gonna say it. We hope to see the entire island of Kauai become
06:42
Christian, to come to know Jesus Christ, and to be transformed from the bottom up in every area, whether it has to do with addiction or the cults, whether it has to do with family and the church and government.
06:55
We wanna see the message of Jesus affect everything. And we know that we can't do that on our own.
07:00
We're not Lone Rangers. We need God's people. Would you consider doing that? Would you consider joining with us on a regular basis by giving financially to this work at ApologiaKauai .com
07:11
and praying for us constantly? We'd be so grateful, so thankful. So thank you for watching. Amen.
07:17
Ho 'onani i ka makuamaau. Ke ke kime ka uhaneno.
07:28
Ke akuamaau ho 'omaikaipu. Ko ke aau, ko ke laau.
07:37
I think that's how we gotta end this. Amen. Amen. Wow. I love how amen is the same in every language.
