The Gift of Life and the Choice to Keep the Baby

Keep your baby. It's your baby. God gave it to you, regardless of anybody there. When nobody else is there, there's love right here, right there. My name is Deanna Peterson. This here is Dion. First of all, he looks just like me, so he's the cutest thing.

I think he's smart from, you know, he's only four months now, but he does a lot of stuff that is really fun to see. You know, it's fun to see them grow up and do stuff that they wasn't doing yesterday or the day before.

Then I imagine what he's going to look like when he gets Bryce's age. Bryce turns two in a week. You know, emotions were already high. I just had my first baby, and then when he was turning one, then I found out I was pregnant with him.

Fear, Poverty, and the Decision at the Clinic

I was not having good luck with jobs. My living situation wasn't really that good. You know, like, what am I going to do now? But, you know, I figured it all out, and he's here now. So, I had actually been sitting inside for a while.

When I had walked past originally, you know, like, everybody, he just waved them off at me, like, you know, you're going to go do what you're going to do. I walked back outside because I was, like, really impatient about it.

I'm like, dang, it's like 30 ,000 people in here. Like, everybody want to do the same thing on the same day. So, I went back outside. I called my children's father, and my mom was outside, and she was the one who took me up there.

She didn't want to really take me, but I'm like, you know, I'm thinking there's something I got to do. Like, Mom, please, can you just take me? But then I did sit in there, and I had a conversation with Andrew, and it really changed my perception from that point on because I had the same mindset, same decision thinking when I was pregnant with my first son.

God’s Presence, Strength, and the Value of Every Life

I was like, oh, my God, and then I had somebody save me then, too. So, you know, it'd be a blessing that them people do be outside because ain't no telling where I would be without either one of them because I love them so much.

If Andrew wasn't outside, I probably would have still took the time to really contemplate it because once you're in there, like, you know, you kind of start feeling guilty. You'd be like, you don't really know if that's what you want to do, but then you think about, you know, of course, you think about who's going to be there for you and all that stuff when it really don't matter because God's there for you.

You're going to be there for them. Life would be different. You know, I'd just have my one versus my two. You know, honestly, I'd probably be in the same situation I was in because, you know, I wasn't really pushing hard enough and trying hard enough, but I had him, and I guess it gave me a little more strength.

It gave me a little more faith to fight and keep going. Just imagine the little you. Like, if somebody ended your life, you wouldn't have been here. So, you know, like, why would you take this is a gift to you.

Motherhood, Overjoyed Love, and Being Filled with Life

You know, why would you take that away from me? When I'm mad and I be sometimes don't want to look at him sometimes because I'm so mad, but then I do, and then I'm just I'm overjoyed. I'm filled with life, love, everything in between.
